The noise in the kitchen couldn't even puncture his thoughts as he sat at the table and looked out the window.
Charles had drove all night to Bath because he just didn't want to be in the same city as Georgie or Elvis for that matter and now he was sat here nursing a cup of coffee that he had made himself.
His mother, Margaret, walked over to him and put her hand on his shoulder and he came out of his thoughts "Charles you know my opinion on Georgie and you know that I loved Molly, why don't you give her a call"
That was his mothers solution to everything, ring Molly, but this time he wasn't sure if it would work. He wasn't sure if Molly would even want to speak to him after the way that he had treated her. "Molly's in Afghan, mum" he said and looked up at her "plus I wouldn't answer my phone calls if I were her" Charles admitted with a shake of his head and put his eyes back down.
Elvis had been right the night before he did need help and he needed to get that help right away. "I'm going for a shower" and with that he got up taking his coffee with him and headed upstairs to his room for a shower.

After the shower Charles looked out the window at the crescent across from him and he remembered proposing to Molly out there. He knew he had fucked up so badly that he had lost the woman who had stood by him through everything until the day he said he wanted to look after Georgie; until the day he moved in with Georgie.
But he couldn't go back to Molly he had to move on from both her and Georgie and to get himself on a road to recovery.
Charles moved away from the window and looked through the drawer at the side of the bed and knew that he had put it in here. He finally found what he was looking for and stared at the card for a moment. On it was a name for someone who he could talk to, his name was Martin Atwood.
He found his fingers having a hard time putting the numbers into his phone instead he was doing the one thing he said that he wouldn't do and that was looking for Molly's number. Afghanistan was over four hours ahead of the UK. Charles then looked down at the picture he had with her name and it was the day they had got married and he couldn't help but wonder just how he was going to make all of this up to her.
Charles then pressed the call button and waited for it to connect.

"Lets go Prof!" Molly called to him along with the rest of the barracks. Even though they had had a suicide bomber pretty much rip the front gates apart they had made sure to patch everything up and they were as safe as they could be while here.
So when Prof had said that he would take part in the running they were all a little surprised but happy because he was quite literally the only one who had put themselves forward for it. Molly would rather be doing something else than looking at sweaty men running but when Prof came up last 2 Section all ran to him because he pretty much collapsed due to the fact he had overworked his legs.
Molly was helping to massage the muscles in his legs before she felt a vibrating in her pocket and reached down to see who was calling her right now and then cleared her throat when she saw the name on the screen. It had been the last person she had ever thought it would be.
She could feel Prof's eyes on her and she looked back at him, he nodded to her and told her to go and take it "Sophie, take over" she spoke and stood up before letting Sophie take it place and she walked away from the team. Molly found herself a spot and still hesistanted for a moment before answering the call "Didn't expect you to ring me"
"Yeah, well, didn't expect my ex best friend to still be alive but I guess we're both full of disappointments"
Molly took the phone away from her ear and leaned the top of it against her mouth and took a deep breath before putting it back to her ear "You sound like you're the hard done by guy in all of this but the only ones who got screwed over in all of this was Elvis' family, his daughter, his mum and dad, Debbie, they are the ones who lost the most out of all this"
Charles knew that she was telling the truth because if it had been him that had done that then it would've been his family, his son, Molly, they were the ones who would've lost it all rather than anyone else. "You're right," he admitted and looked out the window at the crescent "I didn't ring you up to fight with you"
"Then what do you want, Charles, I am really busy this end" even if it was just rubbing Prof's sore muscles right now.
"I heard about the bombing at the base and I just want you to be careful"
Molly wasn't sure if she was hearing this right at the moment because not once in the last couple years had he said anything like this to her and now suddenly Elvis is back and he wants to make sure that she's going to be ok? "So how did it go with Elvis?"
"Well he told me that if I ever contacted him again then I would get his fist in my face so there is that"
Molly looked down and bit down on her lip because of the fact she didn't want to make it sound like she was grinning and it was probably something she shouldn't be grinning at in the first place. "Well you know Elvis and his fists, he does like to use them" her eyes were on the team and she watched as Prof was laid on the ground trying to catch his breath and it reminded her of the first time she stepped foot in Afghanistan all those years before. When Captain James, as he was known back then, yelled at her because she couldn't get Smurf fake bandaged up on time. "Was it worth it?" she asked "was it worth breaking up our marriage for?"
"No, never" Charles finally admitted but knew that he couldn't go back to Molly because he had hurt her so much that he wouldn't forgive himself for that.
That was the first time he had ever said that, first time he had ever admitted that he had fucked up when it came to the two of them. If she could have a do-over would it make any difference and could she really take him back now? The answer to the first one was probably not but the last one was no. Molly didn't want to take him back even though at the moment they were being civil with each other.
"I should probably let you get back, I'm sure Kingy wouldn't be too pleased if he caught you on the phone while you're supposed to be doing duties"
"I don't think he likes me so he would probably yell at me for nothing anyway"
"You said that about me in the beginning but I warmed to you and he will do the same too just give him some time" Molly smiled at that and she hoped that Kingy would warm up to her but she guessed that she had more chance of winning the lottery than him actually doing it.
"Molly Prof is calling you!" Throbber called to her.
"I'm coming now Throbber" she called back to him.
"Throbber? and I thought the first lot of 2 Section's nicknames were strange but I guess I have been proved wrong this time"
"I should go, I got things to do and plus I'll let you get back to what you were doing" she had things she wanted to do anyway and helping Prof back to the med room was one of them. "Goodbye Charles"
"Bye Molly" he said and then when he went to say something else he was listening to a voice tell him that the other person was no longer on the phone "I'm sorry" he said and then finally put the phone down on his bed and picked up the card that he would ring up the next day.

"How you doing there, Prof?" Molly asked as she went back to where the rest of the gang were and put her phone into her pocket and got back down on her knees "I think we can move you to the med room for a little bit, guys we're going to need help" she said to the others.
"Nah, I like laying on my back on the ground, makes me see things so clearly!" he joked and smiled up at her.
"I thought it was usually women who like lying on their backs" Throbber piped up.
"And like that the moment has been ruined by the dick in the back" Molly looked over her shoulder at Throbber and shook her head slightly.
"That really hurts my soul, Molly, like it tears me up when you say things like that, the Throbber is better than that"
Molly rolled her eyes before looking back at Prof "Ok lets get you up off this ground" she stood up and the others helped Prof to his feet and then helped him back to the med room where he would rest up for a little while.
They were just about through the door to the med room when Hurst called her name and then asked her to follow him. "Sophie take over" she said once again and sighed under her breath and wished that she could get on and do the work that she had been sent here to do but instead she was following Hurst into the ops room and the door shut. "What is it, sir?" she asked.
"It seems that you're needed at the hospital so if you want to pack up your med kit and head over there then Matthews can take over from here" Hurst spoke and that was because Sophie needed to prove herself some time and breaking the two of them up might help the latter get her bearings at some point and now was the time.
"But I-" she wasn't sure what she was going to say but that was Molly.
"But you, what?" Hurst asked.
"I thought I would be better here especially when Sophie might need some help" and now she was starting to sound like Georgie with going against orders and while she had done that a few times over the years the last thing she ever wanted to was be put in the same camp as her.
"Dawes just get your fucking bag packed and get over to the hospital, that's an order" Hurst finally said and then walked out the room.
Molly sighed, for some reason Hurst and Kingy clearly didn't like her but she wasn't sure what she had done to either of them but she guessed she was being relocated to the hospital and with that she walked out the room and to the med room to get her bag sorted.
She had forgotten that Prof would be there in the time she had walked between the ops room and the med room and opened the door and saw Sophie was talking with Prof. "You're going to have to keep an eye on Prof as I'm heading to the hospital"
"You're being sent off?" Prof asked and pushed his eyebrows together behind his glasses and being laid back on the bed put Molly at a sort of weird angle that was giving him a headache to look at.
"Just helping out over there I guess" she said with a shrug and then went through her kit to make sure that she had everything she would need in case something happened.
"Are you taking anyone with you?" Sophie asked her eyes watching as Molly moved around the room and getting everything that she would need in her bag should anything happen on the way to the hospital.
"Hurst never said but I guess maybe some ANA guys?" Molly guessed that the rest of the team weren't going or at least Sophie and Prof wasn't anyway because there was no way that he would be able to move with how sore his muscles had been after that run and Hurst said that he wanted to keep Sophie there for some reason.
"What if something happens here?" Sophie had completely turned to Molly "What if I'm going to need you?"
Molly could see the fear in the girls eyes especially after that time at the club back home when she had froze but instead Molly walked over "You're going to be fine, you have to believe that" she put her hands on Soph's arms and nodded "Because the second you start doubting yourself then you are no good for this section, they need you just as much as you need them" she could see Sophie start to relax and she let a smile pull at her lips and with that she went back and packed her kit bag before getting kitted up herself with her vest, her radio and her helmet.
Molly left the med room before heading to where she guessed the truck would be leaving from and there were a couple of the guys and some ANA ones too, after all it was their hospital and Molly was only here to assist them. She looked over at Kingy and Hurst who were watching her and she nodded to which Hurst smiled slightly and Kingy nodded back. She got into the back, along with the ANA guys and one of her own team while the other sat up front and they then left the barracks.
When they arrived at the hospital they were met by the American doctor and escorted in but the two medics didn't see the two behind them nod to each other before they went in different directions.
