Hello and welcome to chapter 7 of this fanfiction. Well, this is where the real adventure begins. As I said before, the the titles of each chapter from here on in will be named after actual episodes from the original Digimon Adventure and I'll be using the titles from the English dub since that's the version I grew up with. However, just because they're named after the episodes from the show, they will not be exact copies of those episodes. Since this is also a crossover with Naruto, there will be significant changes in how the plot goes about in order to incorporate Naruto and Hinata into them.
Now for Naruto and Hinata's partners, Lunamon's Digivolution line is easy to guess. As for Dorumon, some of you probably believe that his line is either from Dorugamon to Dorugreymon to Dorugoramon or from Raptordramon to Grademon to Alphamon. But don't assume anything just yet. Keep in mind that we're only in the early stages of this story. You'll all know who Dorumon's Mega form will be when we reach the battle against Venommyotismon. For now though, let's all keep our minds open.
Chapter 7:
On File Island one month ago in the digital world, half an hour ago in the real world, two figures wearing black cloaks (think Organization XIII's cloaks) were standing in front of a large temple at the top of a mountain in the middle of the island. They were looking out to see when they noticed two meteorites land in the forest section of the island where all the insectoid type Digimon lived.
"Do you think that's them," said one of the figures.
"Yeah," said the other figure. "I recognize that loser's chakra signature anywhere. I think we should send them a message."
In the forest area, Naruto and Hinata successfully landed on the ground without much trouble. Looking around their new surroundings, the two shinobi were both amazed by what they saw. There were trees and plants like none they had ever seen before and mountains that were different from the ones they saw even in the shinobi world.
"So this is what the Digital World looks like," Naruto observed.
"I suppose so, Naruto," Hinata agreed.
Suddenly the two heard familiar voices.
"Naruto…!"
"Hinata…!"
The two shinobi looked and saw their partners run right towards them, both back in their rookie forms.
"Dorumon," Naruto got tackled by his partner.
"Lunamon," Hinata hugged her partners like a mother hugging her child.
"It's so good to see you," Dorumon said to his partner.
"It's good to see you," Naruto agreed.
"It's been almost two years now," Lunamon noted.
"I guess that's to be expected," Hinata commented, remembering what Makuramon said about time in the digital world flowing faster than in the real world.
"By the way, where's Makuramon," Naruto asked.
"He went into hiding," Lunamon explained. "He said that he won't reveal himself again until the time to battle the Dark Masters arrives."
"And what about our allies," Hinata asked.
"We can't say," Dorumon answered. "All he said was that you'll be meeting them soon enough."
"Well, until then we should gather supplies for the journey for when Tai and the others arrive," Naruto suggested.
Suddenly, a kunai came out of nowhere and passed by Naruto, Hinata, and their partners before striking one of the trees. Naruto took noticed of the kunai and looked towards the direction the kunai came from and saw two mysterious figures in black cloaks. The figures stood there for a moment or two before disappearing. At first, Naruto was confused by this, but he shook it off as he took a closer look at the kunai. He recognized the metal as the kind used in his own world and realized someone from the shinobi world was in the digital world.
At the temple, Devimon was talking to Piedmon through a magic mirror in his throne room. He was mentioning what happened almost four years ago with the crests.
"So you're saying that Myotismon is now in possession of the crest of light," Piedmon questioned.
"I'm afraid so, lord Piedmon," Devimon confirmed.
"You allowed him to take that crest," Piedmon questioned again, his tone sounding more hostile.
"There was nothing I could do," Devimon admitted. "Myotismon is an ultimate level Digimon, he would have destroyed me and all of the crests might have been in a place where the Digidestined could easily find him."
"Perhaps if I had come along you might have stood a better chance," said Ladydevimon.
"Oh shut up," Devimon shouted. "If I had to rely on you all the time, I wouldn't be…"
"Enough," Piedmon demanded. "Both of you knock it off. I'll deal with Myotismon myself later. For now, we must focus on the task at hand. Ladydevimon, make sure the others are keeping themselves hidden."
"Yes sir," Ladydevimon then left.
Piedmon turned his attention back to his third in command. "As for you Devimon, I'm disappointed in you, but I'm willing to let that slide this time. For now, focus on taking care of the Digidestined and their guardians. Do not fail me again."
"I have no intention to," Devimon bowed.
Devimon then ended his connection to Piedmon and went back to work.
Just then, a large green ogre like Digimon arrived and told him, "Lord Devimon, the Digidestined's guardians have arrived!"
"Ogremon," Devimon growled. "How many time do I have to tell you not to come in unannounced?!"
Devimon was about to attack when, "He speaks the truth."
Devimon calmed down and looked at the source of the voice, which turned out to be the two cloaked figures who noticed Naruto and Hinata enter File Island earlier.
"Those two guardians arrived just moments ago," said the taller of the figures.
"Are you certain," Devimon asked.
"Yes sir," said the other figure. "But there's no sign of the Digidestined themselves. If I had to guess, they should arrive in about a month from today."
Devimon was intrigued. "Then we must prepare for their arrival. Ogremon, make sure that Leomon doesn't find out about our operation. But if he happens to come here, place a Black Gear into him."
"Yes sir," Ogremon then left.
Devimon then turned to the two figures. "As for you two, keep an eye on the two guardians. Make sure they remain unaware of what's going on. Can I count on you, Sakura and Sasuke?"
The cloaked figures revealed themselves as Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno who somehow got into the Digital World.
"Of course, Lord Devimon," said Sakura.
"We live to serve you and the Dark Masters," said Sasuke.
About a month later, the portal opened up over File Island again and seven meteorites landed in the forest area. In one spot, Tai Kamiya could be found lying on his back unconscious as a small pink Digimon jumped onto his body.
"Tai," said the Digimon. "You who, Tai…"
Hearing someone calling him and woke up only to see the small Digimon, who looked like a head with floppy ears, sitting on top of his chest. The two blinked for a moment, only to be followed up by Tai freaking out and screaming at the sight of the creature.
"That's the last time I eat camp food," Tai exclaimed.
The Digimon then hopped up to Tai and told him with joy, "You don't have to be afraid of me. I'm your friend, I'm your friend, I'm your friend."
But Tai was still confused. "Just what are you?"
The Digimon hoped around as Tai followed its movements. "Everything's going to be alright now Tai! I've been waiting for you!"
The Digimon jumped into Tai's arms as Tai gasped, "Waiting for me?!"
"My name is Koromon," the Digimon introduced itself. "And we're partners."
"Koromon," said Tai, still confused. "That means talking head?"
Koromon corrected, "It means brave little warrior and don't forget it Tai."
"Okay" Tai admitted to his mistake. "So what did you mean you've been waiting for me, and how did you know my name?"
Before Koromon could answer, Izzy appeared behind a tree and let himself be known to Tai. "Tai…?"
Tai looked in Izzy's direction. "Izzy, is that you?"
"Yeah it's me," Izzy acknowledged. "And I've got this little pink thing following me everywhere."
That little pink thing was another small Digimon that resembled a cactus-shaped amoeba with two arms, no legs, a mouth, and two bead-like eyes. "It is me, Motimon, at your serves," the Digimon let itself be known. "Anybody want lunch?"
Tai gasped again and dropped Koromon at the sight of Motimon. "Another one…?! What are they?!"
"Oh, allow me to introduce myself," Motimon began a proper introduction. "My friends call me Motimon. Well, everyone does actually."
"I believe it has something to do with those devices that Mr. Uzumaki mentioned in his note," Izzy explained. "It's possible that they've taken on an actual life form. I even remember seeing him with a strange looking dinosaur back at the school."
"Oh really," Tai asked. "That's weird."
Tai then looked around and asked, "Where are we?"
"Maybe we're in the world Mr. Uzumaki mentioned," Izzy deduced. "The vegetation is lush but the soil appears to be common."
"Nothing is common in the Digital World," Motimon mentioned.
Tai gasped.
"That's right Tai, you're in the Digital World," Koromon told them.
"Okay," said Tai before asking, "And just where is the Digital World?"
"I don't care so much about where it is," said Izzy. "I want to know what it is."
Tai then took out his telescope and said, "Guess I'll just take a look around for myself. Maybe I can spot Mr. Uzumaki and Ms. Hyūga. If the Digital World is the world mention in the note, then they've got to be here somewhere."
Tai then began climbing a tree to get a better view. When he got to the top, he took out his mini telescope and looked around the area. What he saw was a landscape he had never seen before.
"The ocean," Tai asked as he looked around. "What's that doing there? Our camp site was nowhere near the ocean. And I don't remember those mountains. Something tells me that a compass isn't going to help much. Where are Mr. Uzumaki and Ms. Hyūga?"
Koromon then jumped up to Tai and said, "Hey Tai, what do you see?"
"Nothing I recognize, and no sign of my two teachers," Tai answered before he spotted something flying in the distance. "What's that?"
In the sky was a giant red insectoid Digimon that resembled a stag beetle. The Digimon flew around for a bit, but then it spotted what it believed to be a group of tasty morsels in the forest bellow. Changing course, the Digimon made a b-line towards its targets, who just so happened to be Tai and Koromon.
"It looks like a giant red beetle," said Tai as he started to panic. "And flying right at us…!"
Acting quickly, Tai and Koromon made their way back down the tree, and just in time as the Digimon flew right at the tree and chopped off the top. Realizing that its first attack didn't go well, it made a u turn and came in for another attack.
"I can't watch," Motimon covered his eyes. "That's one seriously bad Digimon even when he's in a good mood!"
"That's just great," said Izzy.
"Be careful, that's Kuwagamon," Koromon explained. "He's an insectoid Digimon known for being vicious and ruthless with teeth like knives and scissor-hands that can chop through almost anything!"
"Let's get out of here," Tai exclaimed.
Tai, Izzy, Koromon, and Motimon then started running as Kuwagamon gave chase, cutting through tree after tree as he went. They kept running until Motimon guided them into a tree that looked more like some kind of tube on the inside. Tai and Izzy were confused at first, but seeing Kuwagamon still after them, they let the thought pass for the time being.
Outside, Kuwagamon, unable to find his intended targets, flew off in search of an easier meal. The moment he was gone, Sora came out of the vegetation with a small pink radish-like Digimon with blue leaves/flower petals growing out of the top of its head.
"All clear," Sora called to them. "No need to hide anymore."
Tai, Izzy, and their Digimon were jumpy when they heard the call, but recognizing Sora's voice, the two boys made their way out of the tree, Koromon and Motimon in tow. Once outside, they saw Sora and the radish-like Digimon.
"Sora," Tai sighed.
"You can come out now," Sora laughed a bit.
"Oh we were just preparing a trap for that big bug," said Tai, feeling a bit bashful until he noticed the radish-like Digimon.
"I am enchanted to meet you, friends of Sora, welcome," said the Digimon after chirping like a bird for some reason.
Sora then introduced the two boys to the little Digimon. "Tai, Izzy, meet Yokomon. My own personal something or other."
"Looks kinda like a radish," Tai noted as he and Izzy got a better look at Yokomon.
"Must be another one of them," Izzy added. "Like the other… whatever they are…"
Izzy then paused to think. But then another Digimon, resembling a small pig-like creature with ears similar to Koromon's, arrived on the scene.
"Uh oh," said Tai as he, Izzy, and Sora gasped.
"Look they're popping up everywhere," said Izzy.
"Hello, I am Tokomon," said the Digimon before calling someone. "Hey T.K., over here…!"
"Coming," T.K. called out as he came running into view. "Tokomon, there you are…!"
Matt was right behind him carrying another Digimon in his left arm. "T.K.…!"
"Hey Matt," Tai called out before noticing the Digimon in Matt's arm. "You to…?"
"Yeah, I'm here to," Matt answered after stopping.
"No, I meant that thing in your left arm," Tai pointed to the Digimon.
"Oh this guy," Matt looked towards the Digimon, who was another head but with orange fur, a tanned face, and a blade-like horn on its head. "Yeah, well…"
"Hello," the Digimon blushed. "You appear pleasant. Tsunomon is my name and I am quite pleased to meet you."
Suddenly, Mimi showed up, feeling rather terrified. "Did you guys see that giant bug go by…? That was terrifying…!"
Mimi then slumped to the ground on her knees as another Digimon, this one resembling another plant, crawled up to her and asked, "Mimi, are you alright?"
"Yeah, I think so," Mimi answered.
"Don't worry, Tanemon's here to protect you," Tanemon reassured her.
Next thing everyone knew, Joe came in screaming at the top of his lungs. A small Digimon resembling a furry seahorse with fin-like wings and a small orange bundle of hair on its head was following.
"Joe," Tai gasped.
"Help me," Joe panicked. "This thing, this thing, it won't leave me alone…!"
When Joe stopped, the Digimon caught up to him and landed on his left shoulder as it said, "Hey, who are you calling a thing? I'm no stuffed animal. The name is Bukamon."
Joe jumped a bit at first while Bukamon giggled, but then he noticed that the others were looking at him like he's crazy. "What's wrong with you guys? Don't you see this creature hanging off me?"
Joe then noticed the other Digimon. "And those creatures standing right there…?"
Joe then gasped upon realizing what he just said. "They're… they're everywhere…! What are they?"
Bukamon then flew off of Joe's shoulder and towards the other Digimon and said, "We're…"
The other Digimon joined in, "Digimon, Digital Monsters…!"
"Digital Monsters," Tai questioned.
"Yes, Digimon," the Digimon answered.
Elsewhere in the Digital World, a small Digimon named Nyaromon was sitting in a tree looking out in the horizon as if she were waiting for someone. Funny thing was she was near the spot where Gennai had dropped the eighth Digi-Egg.
"Where are you," she said. "I'm waiting for you. Where are you my partner?"
Back on File Island, the Digimon were just about down introducing themselves.
"We're not just Digital Monsters, we're much more than that," Koromon told them as . "We're kinda cute."
"And we're loyal," Tsunomon added.
"With Beautiful hair," Yokomon commented.
"Or maybe no hair at all," Motimon added.
Bukamon raised his fin. "We can be funny. HA…!"
"And adorable," Tokomon agreed.
"Not to mention helpful," Tanemon finished.
Now it was time for the Digidestined to introduce themselves to their partners.
"It's a pleasure to meet each of you," Tai started. "My name is Tai and these are my friends from camp."
"My name is Mimi and my favorite color is pink," Mimi went next, pointing towards her hat before gesturing towards Matt. "This is Matt. He's too cool. Just look at that haircut."
"No autographs please," Matt smirked.
"And this is Sora," Tai gestured to Sora. "She's a lot of fun to hang out with."
"Nice place you've got here, except for the giant bugs," Sora commented.
"And this kid is Izzy, our computer exert," Mimi gestured to Izzy. "I think he should have got to computer came just as I should have got to cheerleading camp."
"Do you have internet access," Izzy asked.
Tai gestured to TK. "And this little guy is Matt's dokey little brother and his name is… is…"
"Takeru," TK told them. "But call me TK, and I'm not as small as I look."
"Oh and this is Joe," Mimi gestured to Joe. "But don't ever scare him. He'd probably wet his pants, as Bukamon demonstrated."
"I'd shake hands with you, if you had any," Joe commented before realizing what Mimi mentioned. "Wait what?"
Joe looked down and realized Mimi was right. Screaming in embarrassment he ran into the bushes to change his pants while the others laughed at his misfortune. Moments later, Joe returned with clean pants on and the group got back to business.
"So anyway, have you guys seen our teachers around here," Tai asked. "Their names are Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyūga."
Before the Digimon could answer their partners' question, they all heard a familiar roar off in the distance. Looking, there was Kuwagamon flying right towards them. Panicking, the Digidestined ran as fast as they could, carrying their Digimon in their arms as they ran. At the same time, Kuwagamon gave chase, slicing through tree after tree as he went.
Not far behind him, two figures dressed in black were watching the whole thing. As Kuwagamon chased the Digidestined, the two figures followed them along with two other Digimon.
While the group continued to run through the forest, they were able to stay just out of Kuwagamon's range. But then things took a turn for the worst as they arrived at the top of a high cliff and were trapped.
"Oh great," Matt gasped. "Anyone bring a helicopter or a parachute?"
Tai walked up to the edge of the cliff as Sora told him to be careful. When he reached the edge, he saw a drop that looked more than 100 meters from the top of the cliff to a river below. What was worse, there was no visible way for them to run down and none of them could climb a cliff that steep.
"There's no way down," Tai told the others. "But there is a river bellow! We're going to have to jump!"
"Jump," Sora gasped. "Are you crazy?"
"We don't know how far down the bottom is," Izzy pointed out. "Even if we hit the water, the impact could still kill us!"
"But if we don't jump, Kuwagamon WILL kill us," Tai countered.
Suddenly as if on quew, Kuwagamon appeared from the forest, forcing everyone to duck in cover. Kuwagamon then made a u turn and prepared for another attack. Not wanting their partners to be killed, the Digimon fired multiple pink bubbles at Kuwagamon, knocking him off balance and causing him to fly into the forest behind them. Thinking that the threat had passed, Tai and the others went to their Digimon and checked if they were okay.
"Yokomon," Sora gasped.
"Koromon, are you crazy," Tai asked. "Why'd you do that?"
"Sorry, I'm just trying to make a good impression," Koromon mentioned. "Naruto and Hinata's partners were so amazing and I wanted to show that I could be amazing to."
Completely disregarding the part of him mentioning Naruto and Hinata's partners, Tai simply told Koromon, "Crazy guy."
"Oh Yokomon," Sora simply said.
"Tanemon, talk to me," said Mimi.
"They must be programed for courage," Izzy deduced while showing worry for Motimon.
"Tokomon, what's wrong," TK cried.
"Hey Tsunomon, wake up," said Matt with concern.
"Bukamon, wake up," said Joe to an unconscious Bukamon.
Suddenly, they heard Kuwagamon's roar. Moments later, Kuwagamon emerged from the trees, now looking more ferocious than ever. Noticing the beast, the Digidestined and their Digimon ran to the edge of the cliff and crowded together.
"I was hoping we'd seen the last of him," Sora gasped.
"Me two," Tai agreed. "I guess he had other plans in mind."
"I knew I should have brought my bug spray," Matt sighed.
Kuwagamon walked up to the group, baring his fangs and mandibles at them.
"Okay, get ready to jump," Tai told the others as Kuwagamon got closer and closer.
But Koromon had other ideas. "No, we fight."
Tai was surprised.
"That's right, Koromon confirmed. "It's the only way out of this. We have to stand and fight…!"
"Are you crazy," Tai gasped.
"No, Koromon's right," Motimon agreed. "It's time that we showed this creep what we're made of."
"No don't," Izzy objected.
"They're right," Yokomon joined in.
"No way," Sora disagreed. "It's hopeless. You're no match for him, Yokomon."
"We can do it," said Tsunomon before saying, "Let me go" over and over again.
"Yes," said Tokomon as he said "We can do it" over and over again.
Bukamon tried to get free of Joe while also asking him to let go over and over again.
"Tanemon, you, too," Mimi asked.
Tanemon nodded her head.
"I'm sorry Tai," said Koromon before he broke free and called to the other Digimon. "Let's go…!"
All of the Digidestined watched as their Digimon charged at Kuwagamon, all of them telling their partners to either come back or be careful. Next thing they knew, a seven rainbow colored light rays shot out of the sky and struck their partners like spotlights. What they failed to notice however was that their Digivices had activated just seconds before the rays came down. While being illuminated by the rays, their partners began to Digivolve.
"Koromon Digivolve to… Agumon," Koromon had Digivolved into a yellow upright theropod dinosaur-like Digimon with a T-Rex like head and two fully functional arms with four clawed fingers on each hand and three clawed toes on each foot. He was now Agumon.
"Tsunomon Digivolve to… Gabumon," Tsunomon had Digivolved into another yellow upright theropod dinosaur-like Digimon with a blue striped fur coat that wrapped around his yellow body. He also now had a unicorn-like horn atop his head. He was now Gabumon.
"Yokomon Digivolve to… Biyomon," Yokomon had Digivolved into a pink bird-like Digimon with clawed wings, blue tips on some of its feathers, a red beak, and a pink and blue striped curled feather on her forehead. She was now Biyomon.
"Motimon Digivolve to… Tentomon," Motimon had Digivolved into a red insectoid Digimon, but unlike Kuwagamon, he had two visible multi-lensed eyes, a pair of short mandibles for his mouth, to clawed front hands, two back feet that he was standing on, a pair of middle arms that didn't seem to do much and tow antennae on his head. He was now Tentomon.
"Tanemon Digivolve to… Palmon," Tanemon had Digivolved into a humanoid plant Digimon with a green scarecrow-like body, three clawed fingers on each hand what were more like vines, several root-like toes, dark green eyes, and a flower atop her head very similar to the one that Yokomon had on hers. She was now Palmon.
"Tokomon Digivolve to… Patamon," Tokomon had Digivolved into a slightly bigger version of himself, but the top part of his body was orange while the bottom part was light tan, his ears resembled bat wings, he no longer had fangs, and his beady little eyes were now big blue ones. He was now Patamon.
"Bukamon Digivolve to… Gomamon," Bukamon had Digivolved into a white otter-like Digimon with purple markings all over his body, an orange Mohawk, two long ears like the ones Tokomon and Koromon had, and three clawed front and rear feet. He was now Gomamon.
When the light cleared, the seven new Digimon faced off against Kuwagamon and the Digidestined were amazed by what they saw.
"What the, look at them," Sora gasped. "What's happened to the little guys?"
"They're bigger," said Tai.
The seven rookie level Digimon charged at Kuwagamon once more, but Kuwagamon easily knocked them away.
"Alright then, you asked for it," said Agumon after getting back on his feet.
"POISON IVY…!"
Palmon extended her fingers and grabbed Kuwagamon by his right ankle as he tried to fly, using her toes to anchor her to the ground. This gave opportunity to the other Digimon as they moved in to attack.
"BOOM BUBBLE…!"
Patamon inflated his body with air and then expelled it as a powerful air shot that struck Kuwagamon in the cranium.
"SUPER SHOCKER…!"
Tentomon fired static electricity amplified by his wings at Kuwagamon's head, forcing him to the ground. This allowed Palmon to let go of Kuwagamon's leg.
"SLIDING SEAL…!"
Gomamon then slid under Kuwagamon's left foot, causing him to lose his balance and trip. Kuwagamon fell to his knee, leaving him vulnerable to attack.
"Stand back everyone," said Agumon as he, Gabumon, and Biyomon attacked.
"PEPPER BREATH…!"
Agumon released a fire ball from his mouth.
"BLUE BLASTER…!"
Gabumon shot blew fire from his mouth.
"SPIRAL TWISTER…!"
Biyomon shot a spiral of ethereal flames from her mouth.
All three attacks struck Kuwagamon, one after the other. Kuwagamon roared in anger as it prepared to counter attack.
"Now, all together," Agumon said to the other Digimon.
Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Tentomon, and Patamon then used their Pepper Breath, Blue Blaster, Spiral Twister, Super Shocker, and Boom Bubble attacks respectively at the same time at Kuwagamon. The collision of their attacks set the insectoid Digimon's head on fire and knocked him back into the trees behind him. Believing the threat to be gone, the Digidestined were amazed by their partners' ability to fight.
"Amazing," Tai admitted.
"Prodigious," said Izzy. "They made vaporwear out of him."
"I told you we could do it," Agumon cheered as he and the other Digimon ran up to their partners.
"Koromon, or Agumon, or whoever you are, you did it, you did it, you did it," Tai cheered as he hugged Agumon.
The others celebrated with their partners as well.
In the trees, the two figures were watching as one of the spoke to the other.
"I told you they could do it," said one of the figures.
"Okay, I'll admit I was wrong," said the other figure. "But I don't think the battle is over just yet."
On Infinity Mountain, Devimon was working on his Black Gears when Sakura and Sasuke arrived.
"Lord Devimon," said Sasuke, "I think we should inform you that the Digidestined have arrived."
"Is that so," Devimon asked.
"Yes sir," Sakura confirmed. "They arrived in the tropical jungle just moments ago and have apparently just fended off a Kuwagamon."
"Then we must prepare for our encounter," Devimon concluded. "Send some Black Gears to the Ancient Dino Region and to Freezeland."
"Yes sir," Sakura and Sasuke bowed before leaving the room.
Back at the cliff, the Digidestined and their Digimon were celebrating their victory over Kuwagamon. Unfortunately, they started celebrating too early as Kuwagamon once again emerged from the trees.
"Watch out," Sora gasped, noticing that Tai and Agumon were closest to Kuwagamon.
Tai and Agumon were confused at first, but then they noticed Kuwagamon and ran towards the others. Kuwagamon struck the cliff.
"I guess we celebrated too soon," Tai admitted as the others had their attention on the insectoid Digimon.
Next thing they knew, the piece of the cliff they were standing started to break off as a result of Kuwagamon's actions. But before anyone could even think about running, the piece broke of and sent the group plummeting into the river below. Biyomon, Patamon, and Tentomon took to the air and tried to carry Sora, T.K., and Izzy. Unfortunately, they found that either their partners were too heavy for them to carry or, more likely, they were too exhausted from their battle with Kuwagamon. Palmon even tried grabbing onto one of the rocks in the cliff to save Mimi, but the rock broke off so it was no use. But just as they were about to hit the water, Gomamon unleashed his signature attack to save everyone.
"MARCHING FISHES…!"
Gomamon summoned a school of colorful flying fish from the river below. Normally, they would attack his opponents by jumping at them. But in this case, they clustered together, creating a makeshift raft, catching everyone as they fell.
"Wow, this is some ride," Tai commented.
Next thing everyone knew, Kuwagamon fell from the cliff as well. But unlike them, he got no makeshift raft and plunged into the water.
Not wanting to face him again, Gomamon had his fishes go even faster, avoiding a direct hit from Kuwagamon. Unfortunately, Kuwagamon and the rocks that broke off gave a splash so great that it created a tidal wave that sent the group flowing far down the river like rapids.
Up in the trees, the two figures witnessed the whole thing and were worried.
"This isn't good," said one of the figures.
"We'd better follow them," said the other figure. "Keep an eye out for Kuwagamon in case he tries something again."
"Right," said the first figure.
The two then followed the river downstream, keeping an eye on the Digidestined and an eye out for Kuwagamon, just in case. Following behind them were two Digimon, both at the rookie level.
Meanwhile, Nyaromon was still waiting on the tree for her partner to arrive. All of the sudden, she began to Digivolve.
"Nyaromon Digivolve to… Salamon," Nyaromon had Digivolved into what looked like a white puppy-like Digimon with blue eyes and had a golden ring with strange writing on it for a collar. She was now Salamon.
Moments after she Digivolved, Salamon made her way down from the tree and back to the ground. Having had enough waiting around, she decided to search for her partner, wherever he or she may be.
"I know you're out there, my partner," Salamon thought. "Whatever it takes I will find you."
In the real world, Kari suddenly sneezed, which caught the attention of her parents, who were getting ready to leave and visit one of their relatives who was just outside of town.
"Are you okay Kari," Yuuko asked.
"Yeah, I think someone was talking about me," Kari reassured her mother. "You should get going though. Grandma is waiting."
"Oh honey, we can't leave you home like this," Yuuko reasoned. "You're still sick."
"I'll be okay, really," Kari reassured her mother again. "I'm a big girl now and my cold isn't that bad."
Before Yuuko could say anything else, the doorbell rang and she and Susumu made their way to it. Upon opening the door, they noticed Davis standing in front of them.
"Hi Mr. and Mrs. Kamiya," said Davis. "Is Kari here?"
And that was chapter 7. As you can see, the other two people from the shinobi world are Sakura and Sasuke, and apparently, they're working for Devimon, or are they? Now I know that some of you were hoping that it could stay with just Naruto and Hinata and I apologize if I disappointed you on that. I also know that some of you were hoping for people like Shikamaru, Gaara, or anyone else from the Naruto franchise. I'll explain why Sasuke and Sakura are here in a later chapter where I'll explain how they got into the Digital World in the first place and why. And if you're wondering who their partners are going to be, you'll also learn that in later chapters. For now, all I can say about Sasuke's partner is that its mega form will be strong enough to rival Dorumon's mega form in power.
Anyway, as you can see, I decided to play out Gatomon's back story simultaneously with what occurred on File Island. I'd like to think that Gatomon Digivolved on her own from Nyaromon to Salamon around the time when the others were battling Kuwagamon and that she hatched around the same time as they did. And eventually, she will come across Myotismon and you know what will happen from there. I also decided to have Davis interact with Kari while Tai's away. I find it hard to believe that Yuuko and Susumu would just leave Kari alone in their apartment for any period of time, especially since she's sick. Does this mean we're going for a DavisXKari pairing you may ask, only time will tell.
Now the next chapter will be a retelling of the battle against Shellmon, and Naruto and Hinata will reveal themselves to the group and there will be more than just one Digimon in that battle.
