A/N: It's been a while since I've written anything or posted anything. I found out I'm leaving for work overseas for a majority of next year and I've got nothing on my plate for the next few weeks until then, so I figured I should finish this weird story I've already started. I'm already a few chapters ahead and plan to finish it this week, so hopefully the finish product it up soon. Hope my writing ability didn't decline TOO bad (not that i have much to begin with) and enjoy!

Libitina's POV:
Drip…..drip…drip….
I started to regain my senses, the faint sound of water droplets splashing in water echoed into my ears.
I slowly opened my eyes to see I was in some sort of dungeon-like chamber. It was a circular space with brick walls and shattered, stone flooring. The only light was several small lanterns placed up in a pattern on the walls.
A sour sent filled my nose, faintly of something decayed.
I went to move my hand to my head but was abruptly stopped, the clinking of chains ringing out.
"Huh…." I mumble out loud, my voice hoarse.
I look down to see shackles on each of my limbs.
Each of the chain links were no longer than three feet, bound extremely tight and giving me no room to move at all.
I heard low groaning from across the room.
"What…what the fuck happened…" Andrew mumbles.
His chains jingle and he realizes he's bound as well, dawning the same perplexed expression I had.
"Where the…" He looks up and locks eyes with me.
"Libitina, where the hell are we?"
"I don't…I don't know." I dejectedly reply.
I stare back at him with hopeless eyes. This is it. We got caught and now we're in a prison. A literal prison.
Our silence is broken by a soft whimper across the room.
"We're in the pit." Ilia says, sounding heartbroken.
Soft sobs fill the air and I turn to see Allison quietly crying to herself, showing that all of us were once again conscious.
"We're going to die here." Ilia continues, sending shivers down my spine.
I open my mouth to speak but my voice fails me. I look up to Andrew and see him staring at me, a weird mix of helplessness and fear in his eyes. This time, I can't stop the tears.
I pinch my eyes shut and wallow in our failures. I'm so stupid to think we could've actually gotten out of here.
The hopeless feeling in my gut grows, and I can't do anything to stop it. This prison was never designed to let us go.
Andrew looks at me and opens his mouth to speak.
"Can't you….you know, do the thing? Your weird powers?"
I hang my head uselessly, shaking it slowly.
"I don't know how I did that. It just kind of happened."
"Well….what about Yuri?" I hear Ilia croak from across the room.
I recall what Dr. Winters told us before we got apprehended. He was saying that Yuri was on a completely separate mission. She wasn't really going to swing in a help us.
"I…I don't know where she is…" I say dejectedly. "I thought she'd be around by now but…." My voice trails off.
"She could be pre-occupied at the moment. I mean, she has been gone for years now. It's possible she's had an agenda to follow this entire time. Us being caught just wasn't part of the plan." Ilia chimes in.
I feel a slight relief to hear Ilia back to her somewhat optimistic self.
"That doesn't make any sense…" I hear Andrew mumble. "She was always so….normal. I mean yeah, sure, she always kind of stood out but I never really thought anything of it."
I slightly tilt my head to Andrew in confusion.
"What do you mean she stood out?"
He huffed slightly before answering.
"Well, I mean apart from the obvious long, purple hair, she always just kept to herself. She always had her nose in books and never spoke to anyone. She always got timid and fled from people when they picked on her. It's just…" He huffed softly to himself. "…so different seeing her this way."
"There was never any sort of clue that she potentially had like another side to her? A darker, more out-spoken side?"
I can faintly make out Andrew shaking his head from the low-glow of the lamps.
"Not until recently. Quite literally the past few days was when she started acting strange. Fast forward some, and now we're here. Chained up in some sort of dungeon, away from anything I know, and still making me unsure if I'm going actually insane or have a very vivid imagination."
I shook my head softly.
"I wish this was a dream. All of it."
The area fell silent once again, with the sounds of water droplets falling into small puddles filling the air.
"So…..what is this…pit anyways?" Andrew asks.
I look up to Ilia who met my eyes. She sighs softly and turns her face to Andrew's, her shackle slightly jingling.
"We're not honestly….sure. We just know it's a place that they take you when things get really bad."
I could faintly make out him slightly raising an eyebrow.
"….really bad?"
Ilia sighs uncomfortably.
"Er-yeah, like if anyone breaks or like goes out of control, they bring us here."
"So, like a prison? Solitary confinement?" He replies.
None of us answer, not understanding what he means.
"Sorry, forgot it sounds like you've been in here your whole lives."
His voice is apologetic and sincere.
"Well, actually, we did have lives before this…" I say.
I look around to make sure the others didn't object to me continuing.
"We did have lives before this, before all of this. We had families, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, everything…"
"If don't mind me asking….what happened?"
I softly sigh before continuing, racking my brain to make sure I remember everything about our past.
"Well, most of our memories are wiped after being here for so long….all we can recall are silhouettes in our dreams, or faint feelings. The only thing that's still clear as a beginning memory is being chosen from a company of some sorts, being stripped from our families and thrust into…this."
Silence falls upon the group once more.
"I'm….sorry." Andrew says.
I can make out his gaze locking on a wall across from him, completely fazed out. His voice bled sadness, almost like the severity and hopelessness of the situation has finally hit him.
"It'll be okay." Ilia speaks out, staring at Andrew.
He lifts his head and forces a smile.
"You know, I really hope so. Sounds like you guys have been through hell, and honestly, this doesn't seem like the best situation to be in when we're trying to escape."
He looks down at his shackles. He inhales and heaves, trying to rip the chain from the wall. The links groan and jingle, but don't show any signs of breaking.
"Andrew, please, you're going to hurt yourself.." I try saying to him.
He shakes his head and tries again.
"…better…than….sitting….around….and….dying….in….here…" He spits through gritted teeth.
I open my mouth for a retort but the sound of scraping metal rings throughout the room.
I pinched my eyes shut, a desperate, animalistic attempt to shield myself from the shrilling sound.
The horrific noise ends, replaced with guttural moaning.
"What the fuck…" Andrew says half under his breath across the room.
A shadow casts over walls, and someone…or something enters.
The gate once again closes, filling the air with the terrible sound of grinding metal.
Silence falls in the area, each of us too stunned to speak.
A loud, hoarse breathing begins to enter our ears, and my eyes lock on a bloodied girl eyeing each of us, with bloodshed in her eyes.
….
Andrew's POV:
I stared wide eyed at the….thing as it slowly strode into the room, faltering in its steps like a newborn deer.
It hissed with every step, snarled at every head turn as it focused on its surrounding.
Its body structure hinted that it was most likely a girl. Long, stringy red hair was splayed on her face and down her shoulders, with bald spots layered throughout her scalp.
Her skin looked seared and burned, her light skin showing boils up her arms and sides. Most of her torso and upper legs were covered in bandages, almost like a makeshift mummy costume.
Streams of dried blood flowed out from small holes in her arms and legs, like she was hooked up to some sort of machine previously.
"What the fuck is that.." I mutter, a little too loud.
The girl's eyes jerked to me faster than I could comprehend, her irises shifting colors from red to blue to green. Blood was streaming from her tear ducts and she had a clouded aura of an ominous red eye on her forehead.
"It can't be…..Evie?" I hear Ilia mutter from across the room.
The girl seems to falter slightly but remains focused on me.
I could feel my brow start to cover in sweat and I gulp slightly. I had a strange primal fear growing in me that I tried forcing myself to control.
"Evie, listen to me, it's me, it's us." Libitina pleads. "We can get out of here together, we just have to work together."
Evie utters low growls from her throat.
Ilia gulps and offers to de-escalate the situation.
"It'll be okay, I swear. We can fix….whatever has happened to you.
The bloodied girl snaps her attention to Ilia, clearly displeased.
She takes slow, deliberate steps towards her, giving low, throaty growls. She moved with a slight limp, with her right foot dragging behind her.
Ilia's eye widen as the girl approaches, helpless to move out of her way.
The red aura around the thing's forehead glows brighter, and she lifts up one of her hands, a bloodred mist shrouding the limb. She tilts her head slightly and Ilia starts to tweak in pain.
"No…please….Ahh!" Ilia cries out, arching her back.
Evie hisses and takes a step forward, amplifying Ilia's cries.
"Stop! Stop it right now, leave her alone!" Libitina cries from across the prison.
Evie ignores her pleas and place her hand on Ilia's throat, causing her to shake violently.
I watch helplessly, unable to react or do anything to aid her.
I feel the hairs on my arms stand up and turn my head to Libitina. Her gaze was locked onto Ilia and Evie and a red shroud began forming around her forehead. Her eyes began to glow a slight crimson, and I felt a strange energy fill the room from her.
"I said….Leave her alone."
Libitina's shackle's shatter from around her wrists. Evie snaps around and locks her gaze on Libitina, hissing. Before she can react, Libitina stretches her arms out and flicks her wrist, causing Evie to explode to the side into the brick wall.
Dust and broken brick crumble on the spot, filling the room with debris.
With lightning speed, Libitina flashes across the room, giving her attention to Ilia.
"It's okay, I've got you." She says to Ilia, her voice echoing and repeating, like multiple, low voices talking at once mixed with her own.
Ilia's shackles collapse easily off her wrist, clattering harmlessly on the cold, stone floor.
She falls into Libitina's body, where the silver-haired girl carefully sat her up against the wall.
As she took a step back, a shriek echoed from the rubble. Libitina turned to get knocked back from an invisible blast, rolling back onto the floor.
Evie jumps from the smoke and debris, landing on top of Libitina.
"Holy shit…" I mutter to myself.
As Libitina and Evie clawed and fought on the ground, I started looking around for solutions.
"Okay, okay, think god damnit…" I quietly say to myself. "..chained up and the only exit is the gate. Ilia is out of her chains, but…" I gaze over to see Allison, crying to herself and still bound to the wall.
'How in the fuck can I help everyone?"
I return my gaze to the fighting Awakened girls.
Evie had Libitina pinned with her back on the floor. She thrust her hand forward and shoved her palm onto Libitina's forehead.
Libitina hissed and threw a punch at the girls face, sending a shockwave pulsing throughout the Pit. The girl sat up and howled in pain, temporarily letting go of her enemy.
"Andrew!" Libitina calls out to me. She thrusts out her hands and the wall behind me explodes, causing brick and dust to erupt behind me.
A little dazed, I crawl away from the wall towards Allison, coughing through the dust.
I drag myself up to her and grab her by her shoulders, causing her soft, brown eyes meeting mine.
"Hey, listen to me, it's going to be okay." I softly say to her. "We're going to get everyone out of her safe and sound."
She reaches up and softly grasps my tattered shirt.
"Ili-Ilia…" She manages in between breathes.
I turn to see the battle ensuing. Both girls were now on their feet, using other-worldly abilities to attack and defend against each other.
Debris was being thrown and deflected, landing dangerously close to the rest of us. Ilia was sitting helpless in the middle of the crossfire.
I look up to Libitina and we had a silent agreement. She began to bait Evie away to an unattended section, away from Ilia.
I kept a low frame and ran over to Ilia, sure to avoid being hit from the girls' attacks.
I hunch down to her and she slowly looks up to me, looking completely worn out.
"Come on, Sunshine. We're gonna huddle up out of their way."
I bend over to scoop her up bridle-style and she grabs my arm.
"Wait…L-libitina.."
I take a quick peek over my shoulder, seeing the girls brawl it out.
Libitina was looking tattered and worn, her face harboring a permanent scowl. She has scratch and burns all across her face and arms. Even with all her wounds, she showed no signs of backing down.
I scoop up Ilia, pushing my fatigue and weariness to the back of my mind.
"Don't worry, I'll try my best to help her."
I sit her down next to her sister and they immediately embrace, shielding themselves from the danger.
I turn to Libitina just in time to her being hit in the abdomen from a blast from Evie. She is sent through the air and smashes into the brick wall, gasping out loud and laying still.
The girls cry out next to me and I look down at my wrists, still seeing the chains drooping down to the floor. In one swift move, I dash to Evie and swing the chains, slashing her across the back.
She drops to a knee and her howls echo throughout the moist chamber. She snaps her face up to me, murder in her eyes.
Before she could do any psycho-crazy, superpower bullshit, I swing down on her once more, smashing her face with the chain.
She stumbles onto all fours, hissing and spitting her red-black blood onto the cold floor.
I look up and see Libitina push herself up onto her feet. Wordlessly, she strides over to Evie, cupping her chin and sitting her up on her knees.
Libitina squints her eyes and Evie cries out. In a matter of seconds, the back of the red-haired monster's head popped open like a party popper, her brain matter exploding out behind her.
Her body falls lifelessly to the cold floor. Libitina snaps her eyes at me and strides up to me. Her eyes scan my body and I can faintly make out her nostrils twitching, like she was smelling me.
Her weird behavior was cut short when the sounds of Ilia and Allison standing up were heard behind us.
She gracefully walked over to the two of them, scanning each of them for wounds.
I carefully clear my throat.
"Er-Libitina? Are you feeling okay? You know, after all of that?"
Her crimson-blue eyes shot over to me once more.
"I am fine. My body heals all wounds shortly after they are inflicted."
As if on cue, I noticed her scratches were no more than slight bruises, with them only being a slight discoloration from her normal, peachy tone.
"Are you like….super okay, though? Like with your powers and stuff…" My voice falters as her eyes bear into me.
"I'm still me, but can feel my powers still flowing through my veins." She does a show of looking over her arms and hands. "I feel strong, but also like I'm fighting someone to maintain control of my mind."
I lock eyes with the other girls and sigh.
"Well, as long as you have your cool powers, I say we use it to our advantage. As long as, you know, you don't turn on us."
Libitina closes her eyes and the rest of the chain links are set loose from my wrists, along with Allison being freed from the wall.
"We'll see."
She walks over the rusted gate locking us in our prison. She places her hand onto the rusted metal, and it begins to curve and bend, carving a path for us to exit.
"That's one way to do it." I mutter, motioning for the girls to follow us.
The girls grab ahold of my arms, clinging on for safety.
We step over some metal debris and enter a dark, stone hallway. Like the cell we were harbored in, this hall was dimly lit with small lanterns attached to the ceilings. The disproportionate brick walls and stone floors held a pungent, stale smell.
The hall led in one direction, so we all followed the path as a group, with a semi-scary Libitina taking point.
After a few minutes, we were met with a set of stairs, with a set of wooden double doors at the top.
I glanced back at the girls to make sure they were ready, while Libitina pushed forward and blasted the doors open.
I stepped forward, bringing the girls in tow, and was greeted with cool night air.
"Where are we?" I say, trying to gain an understanding of our surroundings.
As if reading my mind, the girls stepped past me and soaked in the sight.
"No way, it's real." Ilia says, sounds astonished.
"What is real?"
Libitina speaks up from a few feet in front of us.
"This is where they dump all of their unused assets and prisoners. We call it….Deadman's Hills."
