Chapter 8: Game Night.

Luigi's Mansion, Dining Room, 9:30 PM

Albion and Abel both took a seat beside one another in the dining room, both having lost specifically against the likes of Aeon and Hana in a quick round of Mario Party in the Mansion, and to say some furniture was broken would be an understatement. Aeon grinned as Luigi sat next to him and asked "Was it really necessary to steal Abel's stars...? He doesn't seem like the kind of person I'd want to mess with."

Aeon chuckled, all the while the ghosts brought everyone their dinner and Melody escorting the guests to the dining room as she informed Luigi "Luigi, the others have arrived." making the green plumber stand up and greet Joker and Little Mac as he told them "Thank you for coming over guys, these are the new Guardians that defeated a Gore Magala earlier today."

Aeon instantly rushed up to Little Mac and asked "Oh God, you're THE Little Mac, aren't you?" making the Boxer nod as Hana hurried up to him too and asked "Can I have an autograph?" While they practically harassed the boxer, Joker took a seat with Alden as the young trainer asked "You're that guy with the Persona, right?" Joker nodded and right as he was gonna speak, did Turtwig jump to his head and bite onto it, making Alden get up quickly and tell his partner "TURTWIG! LET GO!"

Abel and Albion both helped set the table with the ghosts, allowing Peri and Ashei bring the main dish to the table, catching everyone's attention with the aroma. Everyone instantly hurried to their seats, allowing Peri to bow and state "Crispy Pork Carnitas with a side of tossed salad and some freshly made Lemonade for those on the lite side, and for those looking for something a bit more hardy, we made a some Lemoned Liver and Onions with your choice of Alcohol, but I must insist to pair it with some red Barbaresco Wine."

Everyone blinked at Peri, her demeanor with cooking was completely different than her combat and normal self, making Leon insist "I'll have some of that liver if you don't mind." Peri smiled and served him with almost artistic finesse and had the plate taken to Leon by a Ghost, while Cynthia helped serve the others.

Melody smiled as she sat in a chair in the corner of the dining room, making a ghastly piano form in front of her as she popped her fingers, inhaled, then started playing to add some mood to the dinner.

Aeon took a forkful of liver as Luigi asked Albion "So, Link brought you in, right Albion?" The Terminian nodded and told the plumber "Yes, he was in Termina helping with a Chuchu infestation in Termina Field, he found me and a few other rangers clearing out the gates and had us recruited to help find the source. By the time we finished he asked if I was interested in joining the Guardians, I told him I'd think about it, and in three days the rest became history."

Joker smiled as he asked "Ranger?" making Albion nod "Well, ex-knight, used to protect the town, but then I decided to help my country, and joined in the rangers." Cynthia praised the young man "Very gallant of you Albion." Albion gave curt nod as he then turned to look at Leon and asked "And you Mr. Kennedy? How were you recruited into the Guardians if I may ask?" Leon swallowed a piece of onion and told him "I was actually sought after by Snake, the guy with the headband, and was offered a better role after an incident I had in Spain..."

Abel took a sip of his lemonade as he asked "Lost someone close to you...?" making Leon nod and reply "Yeah... An old friend and a new one I made on the mission..." Abel sighed and told him "You have my condolences... I'm sorry for having brought that up." This made Alden look up at Aeon and ask "And you man? What's your story?"

Aeon looked at everyone, then explained "Umm... Well... I'm not really from any world in this universe... I'm from the real world." Abel looked at him as Aeon explained "You see, I grew up on Nintendo games-"

Smash HQ, Comms Room, 10 PM

Samus sighed as she was stuck on communications duty for the night, the titter tatter of ROB units passing along information was borderline dull as the clock finally struck ten, allowing her to do the hourly check up on all patrolling champions and guardians by asking "Alright everyone, how's the night treating you guys so far?"

Olimar and the Pikmin flew over the night sky of the Bionis and Mechonis, reporting in "All is calm over here, no signs of disturbances."

Wario and Waluigi both pulled over and replied by telling her "We are almost to our destination, should arrive in about another hour." All the while Waluigi wondered what was inside the package, but decided against it, seeing how he could lose his pay if he opened it.

Link blew on his food as he sat on the edge of the great plateau, over looking Hyrule as he reported "Everything is okay on my end, will report if anything comes up." Following this, the first Guardian, Captain Toad, reported in "We have a minor situation over in Kanto Route 11... There's a Snorlax blocking various trainer's path."

Samus sighed and replied "I'll get a gym leader to get that sorted out, thanks for telling us." then heard from Lanky Kong as he jumped from crane to crane in Ricco Harbor "We have a s... s... s... serious problem over here in Ricco Ha... Ha... Ha... Harbor! We got three large Blooper Scoopers attacking the dock workers!"

He jumped down and slapped the tentacles away as Samus finally straightened up on her chair, and reported "Any inklings or Kong members please aid in Rico Harbor." Lanky Kong watched as a large amount of tentacles were about to spam down on him, until a blast of magic shrunk it.

Lanky looked and saw a purple skinned short man with a yellow skull wearing a floral shirt approaching him, and muttering "Mumbo can't enjoy tropical vacation in peace, let Mumbo fix small problem for strange ape." Samus was surprised and asked Lanky "Well... Will that do?" making Lanky reply "Y..y...y... Y... Yes."

Samus retracted the previous call and listened as Tifa reported in "Uh, Hey, we got a problem over here in Japan." MegaMan X was sent flying pass Tifa as Vega brushed the dust off himself, making Tifa charge at her, throwing a punch that he just dodged. Samus quickly called up Cloud and sent him to Japan to help, then she sent Ness to check out an Alien sighting in Termina.

Samus had the whole operation running smoothly, answering and responding properly to any situation that can her way, all the while the Champions and Guardians that were off duty enjoyed their evening.

Rooftop, Luigi's Mansion, Midnight

Abel and Aeon both watched as Albion and Ashei sparred, Cynthia and Alden both feeding their Pokemon while Maylene was arm wrestling Little Mac, and holding her ground admirably. Joker and Leon both had to leave early, Leon due to having to prepare for the day's assignments and Joker due to having a few jobs in the morning.

Ashei and Peri both chatted up with Lena and Hana as Peri finally asked "So, what's his story?" tilting her head over at Abel as him and Aeon talked about the how they were games. Lena sighed and simply told Peri "Look love, if you really want to know, ask him, but don't be inappropriate, just call him and ask."

Peri groaned as she slumped on her chair, all the while Turtwig looked around the roof, peeking down to the forest as a Hoot-Hoot landed on the guard rail.

"-And that's what you are in my world... Part of a game." Aeon finished explaining to Abel as he simply exhaled, and looked out to the forest, taking all that information in as Aeon added "But you weren't even in the game... So maybe your world is just as open as mine or everyone else's." Abel nodded as Turtwig chased the HootHoot around the roof, until the small owl landed on Aeon's head, making Turtwig jump and try to bite it, but instead making the owl fly up and Turtwig bite onto Aeon's head.

Alden and Abel both hurried to help Aeon, Alden grabbing Turtwig and Abel holding Aeon's shoulders. Cynthia watched them and sighed as Maylene asked her "When will they learn?" followed by Cynthia deadpanning "Were you any different at their age?" Maylene gave an awkward chuckle and simply told Cynthia "Well... Yeah."

Cynthia nodded and told Maylene "Now, tomorrow we will be needed back at Sinnoh, beginning of the week and new trainers will arrive." Maylene groaned and nodded, all the while Alden got Turtwig off Aeon's head via using his pokeball, then apologized "I'm so sorry man, Turtwig always acts like this..." Aeon nodded while the wild HootHoot landed on Abel's head, making him ask Alden "How do we get this thing to leave us alone?"

Alden looked at HootHoot, gave it some thought, then simply told them "I think he likes our company... Any of you two wants to try to catch it?" Aeon practically launched his hand up.

Cynthia elbowed Maylene, who whistled over to the sparring duo and the others to come and watch as Aeon was given five pokeballs by Alden, who simply asked "You know how to catch Pokemon I assume?" Aeon nodded, and Alden handed him Turtwig's pokeball, and told him "Then you are free to try."

Overwatch Dorms, Smash HQ, 1 AM

Abel carried a sleeping Hana through the halls while Lena opened the doors for him and asked "How the Bloody hell are we gonna keep up with these people...?" Referring to the Smash Champions and Guardians, then she stepped aside as Abel carried Hana to her bed and laid her down, and replied "Honestly? I got no clue... I could barely keep up with Tifa... Let alone Sephiroth..."

Lena looked out to the hall quickly, making sure no one else was listening as she whispered "Love... Maybe you shouldn't worry about him for now..." Abel instantly teleported in front of Lena, staring here directly in the eyes, making her hold his gaze with tired determination as he asked "So we should just let him go?"

Lena shook her head, and explained "If you just focus on him, then you'll lose your way love..." Abel kept that slightly bothered gaze on her for a moment, exhaled, then walked to the door and told Lena "Goodnight Lena... Sleep well, alright?" She nodded, and whispered "You too..."

As soon as Abel was in his room and the door was closed did he throw himself onto his bed, landing face first and groaned as he kicked his shoes off and snored as soon as he put the blanket over himself.

Meanwhile Lena tucked Hana in properly, kissed her forehead and whispered "Keep him on a good path Love, goodnight." then blinked out of the room, quietly closing the door behind her and entering her own room.

Guardian Grounds, 8 AM

Aeon and Luigi both yawned as they arrived trough the warp pipes, Aeon having a few scratches from the HootHoot escaping, making Luigi ask "Ehh... You sure you're feeling well?" Aeon nodded as he looked around and asked "Yeah, think anyone else will arrive early?"

As if on cue, Albion and Ashei arrived, along with Peri and Tharja as the ladder groaned out "Alright, so what's today's work Green Hat?" Luigi was about to respond when another voice answered "Continuing yesterday's fights."

Aeon turned and felt his face burn up as he stared at Samus in her Zero suit, followed by her telling them "The last few fights will be as follows:"

Abel VS Tharja
Aeon VS Peri

Aeon swallowed the lump in his throat as he saw the list, then asked Luigi "Uhh any tips?"
