Jack sighed,he missed the filed, but he was married and mortal,he could not risk it. He spent the days filing reports and going to meetings. The phone rung and Jack picked up,"Jack Harkness-Jones"

"Hey are you busy?" His husband asked.

"Not particularly, if you want we can meet for lunch and then we could..." Jack started

"As much as I would love that I can't" Ianto said "Remember that I had a meeting with the P.M tomorrow?"

"Yeah, what about it?" Jack asked.

"It's been moved for today in an hour in a half, and I have Maya here with me I'm supposed to take her to her swimming lesson" Ianto sounded stressed "could you take her"

"Yes of course " Jack said as he took his coat and he walked out of his office "tell Maya I'll be there in fifteen minutes." And hug up " Okay team I have a family situation and I need the afternoon free, so I will leave Kate incharge " and walked out

"Hey" he said through the open car window as he stopped in front of the UNIT HQ where Ianto and Maya were standing, Ianto opened the car back door and strapped the seven year old girl in, he then walked to Jack's open window and said

"I've text you the location it's at for this" and leaned in kissing him.

"Good luck" said Jack as ianto pulled away and started driving away" so how was school my lady"

"Fun" begun Maya and started telling Jack about every little detail of her day.

"Sounds like fun" Jack said as he drove, "so do you have homework?"

"No i did it at taddy's office" Maya responded.

At the pool, they were greeted by an older woman in a sporty swing costume, "hey Maya how are you"

"Great" Maya said.

"Hey I'm Jack, Maya's step father, Ianto's husband" Jack said stretching his hand towards the teacher "Ianto had a meeting and could not bring her so he asked me"

"Nice to meet you I'm Helen Hunt, I'm Maya's teacher" said Helen as she shook "Jacks hand "Okay Maya why don't you go and get changed and I talk to Jack"

Maya got upset "he is not Jack, he is my Dad" she said, and Jack was about to cry.

"Okay" said Helen" go and get changed and I'll talk to your dad" Maya nodded and run off. Helen looked at Jack who looked like he was about to cry"are you okay"

"Yeah, is just that was the first time she's called me that" Jack said composing himself "Yan and I have only been married a few months, it's so heart worming"

"I'm going to tell you something to make you feel a bit better and something you can gloat with" Helen told him "she calls Christine's husband Paul"

"That does make me wanna gloat" Jack smiled.

"Your welcome" she said with a wink" so class ends at five you can stay and watch on the deck or pick her up hire at 5:30"

"Okay, thanks" Jack said walking towards the deck after what happed less than five minutes ago he was going to watch his kid.

When they got home, Jack unfroze the lasagna that was in the freezer, because as proved by his proposal he could not cook. He served himself and Maya.

"You didn't cook this right?" Maya said poking her lasagna, he had a reputation.

"No, taddy did" Jack reassured her.

"Ok good" she said relived and Jack mocked offence and Maya giggled. After dinner Maya had a bath and Jack told her a story and tucked her in.

"Good night daddy" Maya said.

"Good night My lady" Jack was bursting with pride, kiss her on the forehead and walk out of her room, smiling.

He was working on his computer when Ianto got home, and landed a peck on his lips,"Sorry I'm late meeting run long and traffic was hell, how's my little girl, all good?" Ianto said as he put his things down neatly.

"You mean our little girl" Jack turned his office cheer "she called me dad today, and all good"

"Cariad that's amazing" Ianto said as he went into the kitchen and heated up some lasagna, and slomp on the couch. Jack joined him.

"So, how was de meeting?" Jack asked

"Good" Ianto said taking a mouthful of lasagna.

"What did you talk about?"Jack was curious.

"Confidential"Ianto said

"It isn't about the International Convention for Extraterrestrial Disclosure?" Jack asked, knowing the rumours.

"I cannot say" Ianto said finishing his dinner and got up and walked towards the kitchen.

"Babe please?"Jack folowed"I'll keep my mouth shut, you know me"

"Okey" Ianto said washing his plate "I'm not dining it, I just can't say"
