CHAPTER 6: HUNTER.
(POV: Mysterious Narrator.)
As the moon and stars lit up the night sky, the S.M.A. Students, Mr. Conductor, the royal magicborns, and the elite Sorcerer Knights, were all patrolling the town of Knapford. They were in an area that was evacuated by an inspector who dealt with magic laws as well as usual ones, so they wouldn't need to hold back. As the stars twinkled in the sky, everything was silent and quiet.
"Where's that monster?!" Asked Percy indignantly.
"Patience Percy." Edward advised. "We're not out here for fun."
"Argh! I know, Edward." Percy growled. "I just get a little cross for not being able to take the mail."
"I understand your frustration." Said Edward. "But if we don't deal with this monster properly, there may be no-one left to bring the mail to."
"I see your point." Sighed Percy as he walked with the rest of the group. "But still..."
As everyone then continued to search for the monster, the figure in crimson watched them all from afar finding it kind of amusing to see them all walk about. As he then sneered, he snapped his fingers and a portal nearby suddenly opened. Back on the place where they were searching everyone returned with nothing. However as Tanya looked about, she suddenly got a bad vibe on her back, she then realized where it's coming from.
"Oh my." She gasped. "EVERYONE SCATTER!"
So they did and then a giant blade struck into the ground. Timothy then looked with surprise as he drew his sword and saw a giant mantis-like creature that had blades for arms and legs.
"A scythe mantis?!" He gasped. "Here?!"
"Impossible." Said Edward. "They were sealed away in their proper realm years ago!"
"Then what's this thing doing here?!" Thomas asked as he dodged an attack.
"There must be a miser who can control portals." Grunted Toby as another blade of the mantis missed him.
"Well at any rate." Remarked Timothy. "We have to slay this thing!"
"Timothy's right." Said Jackland as he drew his broadsword. "As much I'd hate to kill a creature like this. Our mission here is to take it down for the greater good. If we don't, who knows how many more lives it'll take."
"Understood your majesty." Edward replied. "What are your orders?"
"My orders are for you knight trainees to study the Mantis's attack patterns and find an opening.'' Jackland began. "While, me, my son and the elites distract it, see if you can find a way to weaken it."
"Right." Edward replied as he then turned towards his classmates. "Ok you guys! Time to get studying! Find an opening in the mantis's attacks and then strike at it!"
"Right!" Said the Sorcerer knight course students in reply.
So, as the elite Sorcerer Knights fought the mantis, the trainees waited for an opening, but as they fought, Timothy and Proteus both tripped and fell to the ground. Thomas saw this, and then noticed the mantis getting ready to finish them both. So he quickly ran towards them with both his swords drawn and then jumped and blocked the mantis's attack, just in time. Thomas then knocked the creature back with a parry, before turning heel, and helping the two men up.
"Brother! Your highness!" Thomas panted. "Are both of you okay?"
"We're fine little brother." Timothy said with a smile. "Thanks for checking."
"Yes. Thank you Thomas." Proteus said with a grateful tone. "I'm certain that my little sister would've loved to meet you."
"Huh?" Thomas remarked in confusion. "Sister?"
"Oh. Nevermind." Proteus said with a sigh. "Just blurted something random is all. Nothing to be concerned about. Now please go and regroup with your friends."
"Right." Thomas said as he darted off.
Then as Thomas immediately dashed off back to his friends, Proteus shedded a tear from his eye, and Timothy noticed this, but decided not to pry about it as he and the magicborn prince returned to the fray. Meanwhile, on top of a building, the figure with crimson highlights, was smirking as he'd oversaw the battle below him.
"Well Tommy and Timmy Tim." He said beneath his breath. "Will your skills with a sword win this fight, or will they not be powerful enough to claim victory?"
As he watched the fight our antagonist chuckled evilly as he continued to see Thomas and Timothy used sword-spells and gunshots. He found it very amusing and wanted to see either one of the brothers bleed and die right in front of him.
"But, no matter the outcome.." He continued with an evil chuckle. "One of you will die tonight, one way or another."
Back at the fight, the trainees have finally figured out the attack patterns of the mantis, and we're now leading the charge against it. Blades clashed, and magic was fired as the battle waged on. Then, the mantis was then thrown onto its last legs as it struggled to stand back up.
"EVERYONE! NOW!" Shouted Jackland, as he began the charge.
So as the magicborns lead them, all Sorcerer Knights, elite and trainee then struck their final attack and the scythe mantis was slain at last. As the sorcerer Knights sat on to the ground exhausted, Jackland then used a spell on the creature's corpse which made it disintegrate. Thomas then breathed heavily as he spoke to Timothy.
"Timothy.." Thomas panted. "Did we lose anyone?"
"No." Timothy wheezed in reply. "Everyone is accounted for."
"Good to hear." Exhaled Thomas as he then sighed in relief.
Then before he can say anything else, Thomas then caught a glimpse of something on a building in front of him. The E2 driver then dashed a few yards right in front of Timothy, and then fell to the ground as a dagger flew into his chest. Timothy's mouth dropped upon seeing this as he cried his brother's name as he scurried towards him.
"THOMAS!" He shouted as he then held his brother within his arms. "Hang on brother!" Timothy pleaded. "Stay with me! Stay with me!"
But, Thomas didn't respond. However, as he held his little brother in his arms, Timothy then looked towards the dagger that was impaled within Thomas's chest and his eyes widened with shock as he saw it.
"T-that dagger." He gasped. "No! It can't be!"
"Oh but it is, ol-Timmy-Tim!" Said a voice as it laughed maniacally. "I've returned to finish what I started!"
Timothy's shock then turned into pure rage as he looked at the figure standing on the building in front of him. With his silver eyes now with a hint of red as he scowled, shouting the evil figure's name.
"HUNTER!" shouted Timothy with rage.
