Screams. Blood. Destruction. Torture.
Words just circling and circling over and over in his mind. He has no idea how long it has been, or as to how long he has been left in this state. But he was tired of seeing it over and over again. Wen Tien's tricks really have taken a whole toll on his mind and body, causing his nightmares to be extreme and constant. They appeared to be simple scenes of his past mistakes, as just a constant reminder. He was no stranger to this kind of thing, but this was too much for him to bear.
Wei Wuxian jolts up right in his bed and takes a massive breath as he finally exits his dreams of suffering.
"Wei Ying….careful your wounds are not fully healed yet,"
He turns to his husband and lets out a sigh of relief.
"Finally...I'm awake…"
"You've been unconscious for several days now….."
"Several days? Really?!"
Lan Wanji nods.
Wei Wuxian sighs and just rests his head into his hands.
"Dear god…."
"Wei Ying…relax for a moment okay?"
"Relax….? Realx…?!" he shakes his head and attempts to stand, but quickly sinks back down. Lan Zhan extends his arms out to him and carefully lays him back down. "I can't relax. Lan Zhan,"
"I know that this incident has put a tremendous amount of pressure and pain onto your shoulders. But I will continue to repeat these words to you, the burden is not just on your shoulders. Please remember that, especially after this incident. Wei Ying, those times were the hardest on all of us, you have suffered so much, and have taken on the burden of so much pain that even I could not understand. No one could understand the amount of pain brought onto you by everything,"
"Lan Zhan…"
"Listen to him, you idiot," Both turn their heads to the door as Jiang Cheng and Lan Xichen walk in.
"Jiang Cheng…."
"It's good to see you awake," Xichen says with a small smile.
But before any more words could be exchanged Wei Wuxian launches himself at Jiang Cheng as the two collapse to the floor with his hands clutching tightly onto his collar.
"Hey! You're still recovering! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
He sits on top of him and yanks at his clothes.
"Why?!"
For a moment everyone falls silent at his outburst even the juniors who were now standing in the doorway watching the scene unfold.
"Why didn't you tell me….? You ran off and got caught on purpose to protect me. Why?!" he shouts.
Jiang Cheng glares at him in silence, but then pauses for a moment as he notices the tears that were filling up in his eyes as they splatter onto his cheeks.
"You….got caught…..and lost your core. Just because you did not want me to get caught…! Why didn't you say that sooner?!"
"You...of all people should know why…"
"What…?
"The same reason as to why you never told me about the core transfer…"
Wei Wuxian slowly loosened his grip on his collar and slowly sits back on the ground removing himself from his body. Jiang Cheng lifts himself up and turns to him.
"That dumb expression you're carrying is the one i did not want to see ever. Especially on someone like you. You were the one who was always smiling and laughing, making everything turn out to be more of a joke no matter what kind of serious situation we were in. You were a damn clown. When you came back after disappearing for those few months, you were not the same and I knew it. But ignored it. We were in the middle of a war, and even afterward things were still just not okay, and my own ignorance and arrogance took control over everything that i was trying to do. I made many promises to her… and if there was one thing I would never do because of her, it would be to not make you cry…"
Wei Wuxian stares at the ground and lets out a small laugh.
"You idiot…"
"You're the idiot. Idiot,"
Lan Wanji sighs and kneels to Wei Wuxian as he helps him off the floor, and back to the bed.
"You two sincerely need to speak more on everything that has happened," Xichen says with a sigh.
"Our fists will speak louder than anything," Wei Wuxian says with a small chuckle.
"Just shut up and stay in bed dammit,"
"Uncle," Jin Ling walks over to Wei Wuxian and frowns a bit.
"Ah….A-Ling...good to see you,"
"Um…" he fidgets a bit and sighs.
"Don't force it out Jin Ling," Lan Yuan says as he also walks over with Jingyi beside him.
"What is it?"
"Ngh...um…I'm Sorry…"
"Huh?"
"Why are you apologizing?" he asks.
"Because… for so long my thoughts on you have been...rough because of everything. But after this I finally get to understand what...what happened and how you actually felt about everything. Also I should at least apologize for everything my family has done. You deserve that at least…."
Wei Wuxian smiles softly and lifts his arms carefully, "Come here,"
Jin Ling blinks and blushes a bit with embarrassment as he moves closer. Wei Wuxian wraps his arms around his nephew and smiles.
"A-Ling, you really have grown, and if anything I should apologize to you for all that I have put you through...because I still should take some responsibility,"
"You should not have to take it all on your own,"
All eyes turn to Lan Wanji.
"In the end we all played a part in all those events. If we had only seen things differently, and listened to you from the start then maybe things would have been different. All the clans turned their back on you and ignored you. Instead of helping or understanding you we deemed you as a monster,"
"Lan Zhan…."
"I agree..." Xichen says with a small smile.
Wei Wuxian sighed softly.
"For now let's just go ahead and finally let this be gone with the wind."
"Your mood just changes too quickly,"
"I don't like being too depressed, even though it has been a depressing few days of nightmares being drilled into my brain over and over again. Still, nothing can change our pasts. Nothing can change the events that have transpired throughout the years, and those killed can not come back. Even if I managed to return, I honestly don't think I ever deserved to come back. But I did and it was for a reason to bring the truth out. I was blessed with a second life when others could have gotten a second life instead. But what is done is done. For now we should look to our futures. And be sure that the traumatic events that had occurred never happen to anyone ever again,"
Lan Wanji nods in agreement as he holds his hand gently.
"We can look forward without looking back,"
"Yes,"
'The future isn't certain. However, we have learned. We have listened. We have come to an understanding. And for now our futures are not predictable, but we can hope for the best. For now the present is where we are, and the future is something to look forward to,'
I AM SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE. PLEASE FORGIVE ME ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS WAS THE LAST PART. I MAY ADD A SMALL EXTRA CHAPTER, BUT FOR NOW THIS IS COMPLETE. THANK YOU FOR READING EVERYONE!
