Sorry for the late delay. .-. I hope this chapter makes up for it. The twins are seven while Rosie is three.
This is probably the most challenging mission that Rex will ever face in his life. He wasn't sure if he was getting out of this alive, but he hopes everyone would remember if he-
"Uncle Rex! Come on! We need to go to more houses!" Julio complained and ran ahead with his twin sister.
Rex internally groaned and didn't have the energy to keep up with the chaotic duo. He felt someone grabbed his hand and looked down. Rosie looked up at him and held her pink Halloween basket tightly in her arms.
"Up." Rosie whispered.
Knowing that Rosie is probably tired, Rex immediately picked her up and started to follow the twins.
Circe volunteered Rex to take the kids trick or treating while the others handled something important at Providence right now. Don't get Rex wrong, he loves Halloween just as much as the next guy. But the only problem is the twins.
Julio and Lucia are perfect little angels whenever anyone else babysits them except when they're with Rex. He wasn't sure why they're like that. But Rex still loves his niece and nephew even if they're a pain.
For Halloween, Julio and Lucia are dressed up as Superman and Supergirl. Every year, the twins tried to come up with a perfect duo theme costume. Last year, they dressed up like Mario and Luigi. Which was still their favorite costumes to this day. Rosie is dressed as Rapunzel and wanted to go barefoot. However, Rebecca sternly told that if she didn't wear any shoes then she wouldn't go trick or treating with her cousins.
"Uncle Rex! Can we go here!?" Julio excitedly said while he pointed to a haunted corn maze from a distance.
Rex grinned, "Sure we can!"
The twins got excited and started to run ahead to wait in line for the corn maze. Rex hurried after them and set Rosie down on the ground.
"Okay kiddos, listen up!" Rex announced causing the kids to look at him.
Rex added, "I don't want any of you to run off. We are going to hold hands and walk through this maze together. If for whatever reason, one of you kids get lost, you go to one of the employees here and ask for help. I don't want there to be any trouble while we're here. If you three behave, then I'll take you kids out for ice cream."
The twins gasped excitedly and said, "We'll behave Uncle Rex!"
Rex grinned in victory and they were already in front of the line.
"How many are in your group?" One of the workers at the entrance of the corn field asked.
"Four." Rex told her and the worker said something to a walkie talkie.
She motioned for them to go ahead and Rex lead the way. The twins were right beside him and Rosie walked closely behind them.
Once they walked through the maze, they started to jump when some people wearing scary costumes came out. One of them was wearing a clown costume while he was holding a chain saw close to them.
Lucia screamed loudly and jumped into Rex's arms while Julio immediately hid behind him. Rex held the kids close and tried to get them out of the maze. However, the maze would take them an hour to get out in the corn maze was huge.
Rex held the twins close and felt Rosie held onto the edge of his jacket as they were struggling to find their way out.
"Are we out yet!?" Lucia screamed and kept her eyes covered.
Julio complained, "We're not even close yet!"
"Calm down! Your Uncle Rex is here to keep your safe!" Rex reassured them and they screamed when someone wearing a pig mask with some bloody overalls came out and screamed at them.
Rex backed away and tried to pat Rosie's head but immediately turned pale.
He felt something fuzzy and short. That's not Rosie's hair.
Rex looked down to see a little boy dressed as Chuckie and he looked up at Rex.
"Is it over yet?" The boy innocently asked.
Lucia and Julio looked at the boy and then at their uncle. It took them a moment to process what just happened. They're almost done with the maze and the whole time, they thought Rosie was with them...ROSIE!
"WE LOST ROSIE!" They all exclaimed and hurried to the exit.
There was a few workers saying goodbye to the people exiting the maze. Some of them were helping a few guests trying to find someone or something they lost in the maze. A few of the guests are either adults and teenagers. There was only one or two kids with tears in their eyes.
Rex grabbed the twins in each of his arms and hurried to the next available worker.
"Excuse me! I need help finding a little girl! She's wearing a Rapunzel dress and has a pink pumpkin basket! We lost her in the maze!" Rex frantically said.
The worker calmly said, "Sir, calm down. I'll tell my friends to be on a look out for her."
"You don't understand! I need to find her now!" Rex exclaimed and set the twins down.
A girl wearing a neon orange vest approached them.
The girl said, "Sir, if you don't know where she might be then it will take her time to find her. We're already having people on a look out for her."
It was already late, if Rex didn't find Rosie any sooner then Six and Holiday will definitely murder him.
"Uncle Rex! Just use your Boogie Pack! Fly around the maze and look for her!" Lucia screamed.
Julio complained, "But Rosie is tiny! We won't find her!"
Rex groaned in misery, the twins weren't helping him but using his boogie pack will help them find Rosie in no time. He held the twins slightly in his arms and summon his boogie pack.
"If you two want to help then I recommend that you help keep a look out for Rosie." Rex ordered while he quickly flew up in the air.
Julio started to smiled and felt his cape flow in the wind. He was feeling like a real hero right now and started to look down for any sign of his little cousin. While Lucia was starting to worry about him.
Rosie's still small and helpless, Lucia was worried about what the poor toddler could be going through right now.
A young boy with his mother were walking towards the entrance of the maze as they looked excited. "Are you ready my Sir Aaron?" The woman smiled at her young son and adjust his hat.
"I'm ready mom! I wish dad and Liam could have went with us." The boy admitted.
"You know your father is working and your brother wanted to go to that party tonight with your cousins. But we'll have fun tonight sweetie." The woman promised.
Before they could make it in the maze, they noticed Rosie was by herself at the fence while she kept her head down. The boy tugged on his mother's arm and motioned for her to look at Rosie.
"Oh my." The woman gasped and they went to Rosie.
Rosie heard their footsteps and looked up. She already had tears in her eyes and sniffled.
"Are you okay sweetie?" The woman gently asked and pulled out a handkerchief from her purse.
Rosie sniffled and whimpered, "I can't find my uncle or cousins."
The woman held her hand out for Rosie and said, "Come on sweetie. We can help you find them."
That helped Rosie feel a little better, she slowly grabbed the woman's hand and followed her and her son.
The boy smiled at Rosie and said, "Hi, my name's Aaron. What's your name?"
"Rosie." Rosie shyly whispered.
"That's a pretty name. This is my mom, her name's Camila." Aaron smiled while Camila started talking to security.
Rosie looked at Aaron and stayed quiet. Aaron noticed Rosie slowly looked at the concession stand. He smiled and looked at Camila.
"Hey mom, can I take her to get something from the concession stand?" Aaron asked.
Camila glanced at the concession stand and noticed it was nearby. She pulled out a few dollars from her purse and handed it to Aaron.
"Don't buy too many sweets, you'll get nightmares once you go to bed." Camila warned Aaron and continued her chat with the security guard.
Aaron held Rosie's hand and guided her to the concession stand. He picked her up and helped her look through the windows. Rosie stared at all the candy apples and cotton candies.
"Which one do you want?" Aaron asked and waited patiently for Rosie to pick whatever she wanted.
"There she is!" Julio yelled at he pointed to the pumpkin patch.
Rex looked down and spotted Rosie with Aaron and Camila as they were looking at the carved pumpkins. He looked relieved and immediately flew down with the twins. Rex hurried with the twins to Rosie and he yelled, "Rosie! There you are!"
Rosie looked up at Rex and smiled.
"You found me!" Rosie happily said and squealed when Rex picked up and held her close.
Camila approached Rex and said, "Rosie, is this your uncle?"
Rosie nodded, she hugged Rex tightly while she held her candy apple with one hand.
Lucia noticed Rosie didn't have her basket and asked, "Hey, where's your basket?"
"I lost it..." Rosie admitted.
Camila ruffled her hair and said, "At least you're safe and sound."
Aaron went to Rex and held up his basket, "Here. Rosie can have my basket."
"That's sweet!" Lucia gushed happily but Julio made a face.
Rosie smiled when Aaron handed her the basket. "Thank you." Rosie cutely smiled and Camila grabbed his hand. "We need to go Aaron." Camila said and Rosie quickly asked, "Will I ever see you again?"
"I'm sure we will! Until then, goodbye!" Aaron said and waved goodbye while he and Camila walked away. Rosie started to stick her bottom lip out and tears formed in her eyes.
Rex quickly tried to calm her down and kept reassuring her that they will meet again. He looked at the twins for any help. They slowly shrugged and tried their best to help him out.
"Babe! Guess what I found!" Aaron yelled from up in the attic of their house. He was looking through some boxes to find old Halloween costumes for Blake. When Aaron was looking through the boxes of his childhood, he noticed a picture on top of his Sir Aaron costume.
Rosie climbed up the ladder and smiled when she noticed Aaron holding something.
"I'm warning you, if you're pranking me then I won't hesitate to push you down the stairs." Rosie joked and sat down next to her fiancé on the ground.
Aaron wrapped an arm around her and showed her an old polaroid picture. Rosie saw that there was two kids in the picture in Halloween costumes. She stared at the picture carefully and gasped.
"No way! Is that us?" Rosie asked in disbelief as she held the picture.
Aaron nodded and pointed to an old trunk. "I was looking through this trunk and noticed the picture."
Rosie stared at the picture and admitted, "You weren't lying, we did see each other again."
Aaron chuckled and said, "I can never lie to you..to think, the girl I met when I was seven would end up being my wife, nineteen years later."
"Believe it, we're getting married next month and we already have two kids that we adopted." Rosie smiled and heard a crash from downstairs. They heard Mackenzie called out, "Blake did it!"
"I'm on the couch! You broke the vase!" Blake yelled back.
Both adults sigh quietly but quickly did the game rock, paper, scissors to see who would go check the damage.
Rosie grinned when she beat Aaron at the game again.
"Damn it. You always win." Aaron complained and walked down the ladder. Rosie remarked, "Maybe you shouldn't always start the game with rock."
That's it for the story and I decided to add a glimpse of the future for a little bit of fun. :D Again, I'm sorry for the late update DX I kept on writing a decent amount for the chapter...but I kept on changing ideas. My Google Keep has at least three or more chapters that I written out but never complete. But this chapter felt right since Halloween is going to be on Saturday!
Thank you for your last review in chapter 7 YellowAngela. I agree that visiting a zoo is a great childhood memory. I've only been to the zoo when I was...in 6th grade and that was almost ten years ago! Those were the good old days. And I'm glad you like the moments and I agree, Six is a great dad :D Also, I admire you for wanting to give unfinished stories an ending. That's why you're my role model in fanfiction :D
I'll try my best to post a chapter later on for Childhood Memories. But I noticed I'm paying more attention to The Adventures of Rosie. Maybe I'll most something later in November. Until then, I hope everyone is doing okay and I hope you have a great night. :)
