Lucy woke up in Frodo's arms. She sighed, her head resting against his warm chest, her eyes glossing over him as she attempted to recompose herself. She couldn't. The dream she had this morning was so quaint, but an amazing dream.

She sighed, remembering, in the dream, how she and Frodo were hiding in a closet with the door wide open. They kissed, they fell in love, and Frodo moved her down to the floor, where they kissed so fiercely. Lucy recalled the details of that dream. The open window, the sounds of birds chirping, the early morning sunlight so cheerily in the mid-morning sky. Lucy didn't want it to end, nor did she fear that it would cease.

Lucy looked up at Frodo, as he opened his eyes. Frodo and Lucy stayed that way for a few more moments, each taking in each other's scents and their warm embrace.

"G'morning," Frodo said, kissing her temple.

"Hmm. Morning," Lucy said, her head relaxing against his chest, hearing his gentle heartbeat that beat close to her ear. She sighed, relaxing in his embrace, "Hmm. This is lovely. Why don't we stay here?"

Frodo laughed. "Because, my darling, we wouldn't greet the day and get some breakfast, which we need to be doing now. Come on! Let's go." He moved away from her, daring to get dressed in a fresh set of clean clothes, before passing to her a new periwinkle blue dress, which would prove to be her everyday dress from now on. Frodo smirked, finishing getting dressed in a white dress shirt, tan suspenders, and dark velvet breeches.

"Come on! I'll make you some food," Frodo said, opening their bedroom door. He made his way out into the hallway moments later, laughing cheerily as he walked.

Lucy sighed, smiling as she got dressed in her new clothes, before heading out of the bedroom and into the bathroom, upon which Frodo had just finished up in there, doing his business, washing and drying his hands, and now brushing his soft, thick, curly dark brown hair.

"I don't mind you being in here. Well, we are man and wife. So, it's all right," Frodo said, shaking his head and laughing merrily.

"Well, I do mind," Lucy said, happy. "I can't believe we're sharing a bathroom together."

Frodo chuckled, saying to her, "Who could miss it?" He finished combing his hair, before checking his buttons. Yup, everything was good! He looked up at Lucy, telling her, as he left the bathroom, "Bathroom's all yours! I'll meet you in the kitchen!" He walked out into the hallway, disappearing from sight.

Lucy smirked, giggling as she recomposed herself. It didn't work. She finished up in the bathroom, finishing up her business, before washing and drying her hands, and combing her hair. She couldn't believe how much Frodo had gotten for her, and how much they had done so far. It truly was blissful being together. All right, maybe she thought everything was blissful, now that she and Frodo were married. After an amazing evening together, what could be more blissful than this?

Next to what she encountered yesterday; Lucy hoped it was only a fleeting moment. It certainly looked like her episode of darkness had come to a end. She turned towards the hallway, making her way into the kitchen, where she met Frodo, who was making toast and eggs for them.

"How do you like your eggs?" Frodo asked, scrambling up some eggs in a pan for them.

"I like them scrambled! Thanks!" Lucy said, folding her arms.

Frodo chuckled. "I figured you would. I'm whipping up some scrambled eggs for us both, if that's all right."

"It's fine," Lucy said. She smiled, gracious when her eggs were ready. She grabbed her plate, as Frodo scooped up the scrambled eggs, pouring them on her plate moments later. "Thank you."

"Yup," Frodo said, making a second batch of scrambled eggs for him. He looked at Lucy, telling her, "I set out some orange juice in the dining room. Help yourself!" He said, proudly.

Lucy smiled, making her way into the dining room to see that not many dishes were set out. There was some toast already set out for her and Frodo, cooked to perfection. Lucy sat down at the table, gracious her host and husband was celebrating. She sighed, grateful to be here and even more gracious that her moment of spiritual awakening had come.

Now, she knew what Frodo had been through. She looked up at Frodo, as he entered the dining room. He seemed sort of healed. But how much of him was healed remained to be seen.

Lucy looked up at him as he sat down next to her, their plates filled with scrambled eggs, toast, which they covered in strawberry jam, as well as blueberry jam.

Frodo smiled at Lucy, kissing her on the cheek with a mouth full of food. Lucy grimaced at the sight of him kissing her like this. He chuckled, diving into his food. Lucy wiped off the food on her cheek with her hand, before Frodo came in and wiped off her cheek with a napkin.

"There. All better," Frodo said, smirking.

"Great!" Lucy said, unsatisfied. She looked at him, asking him, "Are you better? How's your Dark Night of the Soul? Is it better?"

Frodo's smile faded. Well, sort of. He looked at her, his eyes watery, as he said, "I'm doing fine. The Dark Night of the Soul lasts for however long it lasts. But it's getting there. Mhm. You came in right as I was in the thick of things. I don't know how I'll heal, but I can assure you, I am getting better."

"That's good. I myself was experiencing the Dark Night of the Soul. It didn't last. But still… Jadis was there. I wanted to… join her. I wanted to…" she shook her head, diving into her eggs with pride, "…I wanted to… be evil. It felt strange, Frodo! What can I do?"

Frodo shrugged. "It's your Shadow Self. That's what we need to do together. Confront our worst fears. It'll help us."

Lucy looked at him, saying to him, "Do you think we'll ever be able to confront it: our Dark Night of the Soul?"

"Together," Frodo nodded, "I believe we will," he said, eating his food.
