"Huh? What's that, Senpai-chan?"
Gil cringes at the nickname Osano had given Molly.
"It's a book. My brother gave it to me." Molly held out a book made of leather.
"What's so special about it?" Osano asked.
"If you want to know.. Why don't you borrow it? Just return it at the end of the school day. But you have to promise to take very good care of it." Molly smiles at her childhood friend.
"Wow..you'd trust me with that-" Osano blushed, but then said, "I mean- of course I will, take good care of it, dummy."
"Ok, then. See you."
Osano walks over to Roibaru, and smiles.
"So how'd it go, Osano?" Roibaru asked.
"It actually went.. Surprisingly well. She let me borrow something. A book. It's a gift from her brother."
"Are you going to read it right away?"
"Nah. I'll wait until lunchtime, then I'll read it by the fountain. The same place where she usually reads. It'll make me feel..closer..to her." Osano says with a dreamy look in his eyes.
"Eheheh! Oh, you. You're such a hopeless romantic!" Roibaru giggles. "Just make sure to be very careful with it. If it's a gift from her brother, it's probably very important to her."
Gil then decides to keep stalking Osano. With Roibaru following behind him like a bodyguard.
Fast forward to lunch time cause I'm lazy
They walk to the fountain at lunch time.
"Ok, time to see what's so special about this book." Osano says, and sits down.
Gil watches the two for about 5 minutes, then Osano says, "Here's a good stopping point, woo! Time for a break."
He gets up and starts stretching, not paying attention to the book behind him.
The perfect opportunity for Gil has come.
Gil crept towards the fountain, and pushed the book into the water, soaking its pages and ruining it.
Gil hears Osano's footsteps getting louder. He runs back to his hiding spot behind the bushes, and watches as Osano notices the book inside the fountain.
"Oh no.. the book! Molly-senpai's going to be so mad.." he looks down, picks up the book and puts it in his bag. He then sits down on a bench nearby, telling Roibaru what happened with his face in his hands.
Le time skip again :)
Molly waits for Osano by the gate so they could walk home together. Osano came over with Roibaru following closely behind.
"Hey, Osano! What did you think about the book?" Molly smiles brightly.
"Molly, I'm so sorry!" Osano apologizes with his head looking at the floor. "The book, I.."
"Osano..How did this happen?" Molly's smile slowly turns into a frown.
"I don't know! I'm so sorry.."
"I-I'll see you tomorrow, Osano." Molly says, and walks away.
"Molly! Wait!" Osano calls after her, "*sigh* what did I do wrong?.."
He walks home with Roibaru, who was trying to comfort Osano as he walked with his head down.
Gil smiles after them. He runs after Molly, determined to get a glimpse of her before she returns home. Eventually, Gil catches up to her, he watches Molly go into her house. Then he returns to his own home.
