Chapter 16: Ready, Set, Battle!
Author's Note: Hey, everyone! I don't have much to say for this chapter so I wanted to address something I saw someone mention. If this world didn't have Quirks, then why are people like Shinso not in the Hero Course? That's actually a pretty good question. The way I've written things here though, those in the Hero Course are the best of the best. All of their Pokemon are incredibly powerful and they're all amazing trainers. Even characters like Mineta have very powerful Pokemon.
While Shinso himself may be a good trainer, Hypno isn't exactly known for its destructive ability. Shinso likes to use more subtle methods, meaning that he wasn't able to pass the entrance test. It's similar to the source material in the sense that the Hero Course favors those with destructive quirks as opposed to someone like Shinso. Hope that clears things up! Anyway, enjoy!
Izuku stepped into his class' reserved box and joined Ochako and Tenya to watch the next match. Hanta Sero's Ariados against Shoto Todoroki's Ninetales. Despite what it may seem, Ariados was a very powerful Pokemon. He would be able to out maneuver Ninetales with his webs for sure. The problem was that Ninetales was a very powerful Pokemon, even if she wasn't willing to use her super effective moves.
Hanta stretched his arms and got ready. "I don't think we can win, but..."
"Begin!" Present Mic shouted.
"We don't plan on losing either! Use Poison Sting!" Ariados shot out a tiny poisonous needle that struck Ninetales, poisoning the Pokemon and slowing her down significantly. "Now, use your webs!"
With Ninetales feeling a bit more sluggish, Ariados was able to wrap his web around her and began spinning her in a circle.
"That was fast! Ariados comes in with a surprise attack! It looks like Ariados is setting up for a devastating attack!"
"Sorry." Shoto said before pointing forward. "Use Blizzard." Ninetales nodded and created a Blizzard so insanely powerful that it literally created a giant glacier that jutted out of the arena. It had just barely missed Class 1-A and the commentator's booth.
Ariados was trapped in the ice, completely immobilized. Hanta was stuck in the ice as well, with only his head sticking out. "I-I th-th-think that was a b-bit much." He said, shivering. Half of Midnight was frozen as well, though she seemed much better off. "S-Sero, can Ariados s-still fight?"
"O-Of c-c-course not. It h-hurts..." He replied. Midnight slowly raised her shivering hand into the air and gave a thumbs up.
"Uh… Ariados is no longer able to battle. Todoroki and Ninetales, uh, win!" Present Mic said, still unsure of what had just happened.
Everyone knew that was too much. Shoto was pretty much guaranteed to win, and he didn't need to have Ninetales go all out like that.
"D-Don't worry about it!" One of the Heroes in the crowd shouted. Everyone else repeated, turning it into a chant. They all felt terrible for the embarrassing defeat Hanta had just faced.
Arcanines were brought onto the battlefield to melt the ice. Shoto stood back and looked down at the ground. "Sorry, I went overboard." For some reason, he looked sad.
Once the stadium was cleared, Present Mic was given the go signal to start the next fight. "Alright, ladies and gentlemen! That sure was an interesting fight, but with Shoto Todoroki moving on, we need to get to our next few matches!"
He pulled out his papers and began reading them. "Next up, we have the Shockingly Powerful Denki Kaminari of Class 1-A versus Ibara Shiozaki, the Silent Assassin of Class 1-B! Competitors, are you ready?!"
"Excuse me!" Ibara raised her hand. "What did you mean by 'assassin?' I came here to claim victory, not another's life." She said.
"Ah, that's my bad. Sorry about that." Present Mic replied.
Somehow, sunlight directly shone over Ibara and she brought her hands together. "First of all, the reason I entered UA was not for evil intentions, but because I wanted to aid people in their time of need."
"Yeah, yeah! I know! I already said sorry! It's my fault!"
"Thank you for understanding!" She said.
Denki smiled as he watched the green-haired girl take the stage. "The girls in 1-B are like that, huh? Big eyes, pretty faces… but she does seem like a really strong trainer. We've gotta give it everything we've got. But… she's also really cute." He said to himself. "I'll ask her out sometime."
"A-Anyway, just send out your Pokemon and go." Present Mic said, now sounding a lot more thrown off.
"Alright, time to shine, Serpirior!"
"Show them what you got, Electivire!"
Both Pokemon were sent out and Denki smiled. "How about we go out for lunch after this. I can comfort you and everything." Ibara tilted her head and looked at him with a confused face. "What do you mean? Why would you need to comfort me?"
"Because this battle will be over in a second." Electivire began charging up electricity, then cloudy skies began taking over the area. "Woah, a storm?! Did Electivire call this in on his own?!"
"You know what time it is, Electivire! Use Thunder!" Electivire shouted as loud as he could and shot out a huge jolt of electricity into the sky. Just as quickly, a bolt of lightning came crashing down right on Serperior. Denki had this in the bag… or so he thought.
Serperior was a pretty bulky Pokemon, and he had just used a move that wasn't very effective on him. "Okay, my turn." Ibara said. "Frenzy Plant." Serperior slammed his tail on the ground and giant roots came out of the ground and picked up Electivire. They slammed him into the ground several times until the Pokemon fainted.
"I-Instant defeat! Electivire is no longer able to battle! Shiozaki and Serperior win!"
Ibara brought her hands together and smiled. "I accomplished what I came here for. Perhaps you need comforting?"
Tetsutetsu and the rest of 1-B cheered. "Let's go, Shiozaki!" Neito looked above the barrier separating Class 1-A and B and began laughing. "What was that?! I thought it was supposed to be over in a second! This just shows how superior Class 1-B truly is compared to-" Itsuka pulled the blonde away and apologized to 1-A for her classmate's stupidity.
The next contestants, Tenya Iida and Mei Hatsume began getting ready for their match. Meanwhile, Izuku was furiously scribbling down notes on Ibara's Serperior, Denki's Electivire, and his next opponent, Shoto's Ninetales.
"Wow. You've just finished your fight and you're still writing down notes." Ochako said, letting out a laugh. Izuku turned to her with embarrassment and hid his notebook. "W-Well, it's more or less just a hobby. It's just a good chance to see the Pokemon other people have."
Izuku then flipped through some pages and showed them to Ochako. "I've written notes on your Espurr, Clefairy, and Whimsicott too!" She did find it kinda weird, but it was still pretty cool. "You're pretty amazing, Deku. This Sports Festival just reminded me of that." She said, but even Izuku noticed something off with her voice.
Before he could say anything, Present Mic got ready to announce the next battle. "Okay! Up next we have our fourth match of the day!"
The next few matches were interesting, but ultimately not that flashy or exciting compared to others. Somehow, Mei had convinced Tenya to allow her to place gadgets on Skarmory for her to show off. Once she was satisfied, she just forfeited, allowing Tenya to move on.
The next was Mina's Ivysaur against Yuga's Starmie. Despite having super effective Psychic type moves, Yuga was way more concerned with being flashy and sparkly. He wasn't paying attention, and Mina and Ivysaur eventually just took the win.
Then, there was Tetsutetsu's Aggron versus Eijiro's Druddigon. They were so evenly matched for some reason, even with Druddigon's type disadvantage, due to their move choices. They practically clashed for what felt like hours until they both fainted at the same time. It was decided that they'd have another type of battle after all the others finished their first matches.
The only other match that was interesting was Fumikage's Honchkrow vs Momo's Aegislash. It wasn't exactly a very fun fight to watch, but it was very peculiar. Momo's train of thought had already been broken by Present Mic's abrupt start, so she and Aegislash barely had time to get ready.
In an effort to buy just a little more time, she had Aegislash use King's Shield to protect from Honchkrow's onslaught of Foul Plays. Which Move was going to be the best? Should she go with a Priority Shadow Sneak and just accept the lack of power, or go for a more powerful Iron Head?
Her indecisiveness proved to be her undoing as she constantly hopped back and forth between different plans. This proved too confusing even for Aegislash and it allowed Fumikage and Honchkrow to get the better of them. "I… I didn't even get to do anything..." She said. Momo was clearly upset.
However, it was the final battle that made Izuku quite nervous. Uraraka was going to have to go up against Katsuki. His relentless and aggressive nature combined with the power of his Pokemon made him one of the biggest obstacles to overcome in the entire tournament. Some would say he rivaled even Shoto himself.
Izuku and Tenya made their way to the break room to help Ochako prepare. "I know Kacchan won't hold back, so I made a plan that could help you. You've helped me out so many times, so I wanna help! It's not perfect, but it'll give you more of a fighting chance."
Tenya held his thumbs up and smiled. "I went over the plan as well! It'll be incredibly useful!"
Ochako simply shook her head and smiled. "Thanks, Deku, but I'm going to have to refuse your offer." Her statement surprised the two. "You really are amazing, you know that? You're improving faster than anyone else in the class. I thought it'd be better to team with a friend for the Cavalry Battle, but looking at it now, I was just trying to rely on you."
She stood up and turned to her friends. "When Iida said he'd challenge you… that he considered you a rival, I got pretty embarrassed." Izuku looked at her with a strange mixture of sadness and understanding. "Uraraka..." She walked to the door and smiled at them.
"Everyone is working toward their future, while I'm getting left behind. Everyone is our rival, but that just means we can meet in the final round!" She gave a thumbs-up, though they noticed she was shaking. She was scared and terrified but determined nonetheless.
She and Katsuki stepped onto the battlefield and the crowd cheered. "The final match of the first round is here! The Explosive Katsuki Bakugo versus the fan-favorite Ochako Uraraka!" She took a deep breath and pulled her Pokeball out.
There was a lot at stake here. She couldn't afford to lose now. With all her power, she threw her Pokeball into the air. "Clefable! Let's do this!"
"Clefable?!" Tenya was shocked at the sight of a much larger Pokemon now coming out of that familiar Pokeball. Izuku smiled and leaned forward. "She evolved her Clefairy! That was probably the best choice then. Even if Espurr could hit harder, any of Kacchan's Pokemon could take them out first. Being able to outlive them and knock them out another way is her only option."
"Was that part of your plan for her?" Tenya asked. Izuku nodded. "Yeah. Kacchan is smart. He doesn't leave much room for error. He may not seem like it, but he's thinking three steps ahead at all times. Even if he can't use his Z-Move here, he'll easily be able to take out most of the Pokemon he could face here. That includes any of Uraraka's team. However, if she can use a Pokemon like Clefairy, she could tire his Pokemon out while constantly healing. That would allow her to gain the upper hand."
"Let the battle begin!" Present Mic announced.
He looked down onto the battlefield and saw Clefable and Typhlosion staring each other down. "She needs to survive. That's why her first move should be-"
"Wish!" Ochako commanded. Clefairy began glowing a white light before that light flew up into the sky. "Alright, go all in! Go for Mega Punch!"
Izuku was surprised by her move choice. Ideally, she'd want to stay away from Typhlosion, but going for a Mega Punch, especially when Clefable was more of a Special Attacker rather than a Physical one was super strange.
Nonetheless, Celfable ran toward Typhlosion and tried to hit her attack, but the Fire-typemanaged to easily dodge. "Use Thunder Punch!" Typhlosion roared and threw his fist charged with electricity right into Clefable's body, slamming her into the ground.
Without giving Ochako or Clefable time to react, Typhlosion gave another command. "Flamethrower!" He said. The stream of flames was so powerful that it pushed the Fairy type further into the ground, shattering the cement even more.
"Uraraka! Clefable!" Izuku and Tenya shouted. "He has no mercy." Tsuyu said. "This is too brutal!" Minoru said, looking down and seeing the beaten Clefable. Strangely, Ochako didn't seem too worried. She looked up and saw a small white light coming from the sky. It landed on Clefable, allowing her to regain her strength.
"The Wish! Just like that, Clefable has healed herself! Looks like Uraraka was planning ahead!"
Now that Typhlosion had lowered his guard, Clefable took the opportunity and used a powerful Mega Punch right in his face, sending him rocketing to the other end of the arena. "Oh! And a devastating blow to Typhlosion! Maybe this match isn't as one sided as many expected!"
Izuku noticed something though. Clefable was still obviously hurt from the hits she had just taken. The Wish worked, but it didn't heal her completely.
"One more Wish, Clefable!" The Fairy type allowed the wish into the sky once more, allowing them to survive for longer.
Katsuki scoffed and clenched his fist. "Don't underestimate us! Go for a Flame Wheel!" Typhlosion dashed forward, covering himself with flames. Ochako smiled and simply pointed to her opponent. "No! Don't underestimate us!"
Clefable pulled her arm back and screamed as she clashed with Typhlosion's own Flame Wheel with a Mega Punch. She was fighting up close and it seemed to be working. Eventually, due to the heat, there was a small explosion that pushed both Pokemon back.
Seeing this as their opportunity, Katsuki commanded Typhlosion to use another Thunder Punch right where Clefable was… or rather, where she should have been. Due to the smoke, Ochako had tricked Typhlosion into attacking Clefable's Substitute Doll instead.
Faster than anyone could expect a Clefable to move, she appeared behind Typhlosion. "Mega Punch!" Ochako shouted. However, just before she could land the hit, Typhlosion quickly whipped his entire body around and hit a powerful Flamethrower, pushing Clefable away.
Not giving his opponent any room to breathe, Katsuki screamed for Typhlosion to follow up with a Flame Wheel. Clefable hadn't even touched the ground yet when she was hit by the attack. Typhlosion eventually backed off, but not before dealing a painful amount of damage to Clefairy.
Luckily, the Wish had come just in time and the distance between the two Pokemon allowed Clefable to set up another one. Though their plan was already beginning to show flaws. Wish worked similar to Heal Pulse. It healed the damage and wounds done, but it still took energy to activate. Clefable was making sure that her health was good, but she was starting to get tired.
Still, they continued attacking with no stop. Izuku was wondering what in the world Ochako was planning on doing. Staying back and attacking with a move like Psychic or Moonblast would have been much safer, but she was going all out with just Mega Punch. Was she just banking on Wish to save her?
Typhlosion's fighting style was so destructive that it left rubble after every attack. With their quick reflexes, Clefable was starting to suffer a lot. Move after move, Typhlosion and Katsuki were incredibly brutal. Against Ochako, it seemed almost unfair. Even Present Mic felt bad for her. She was going in attack after attack and getting brutalized for it. To be fair, there wasn't much else they could do. Katsuki and Typhlosion had absolutely no mercy.
By this point, Clefable had used up all ten of her Wishes, but she kept going. Flame Wheel after Flamethrower after Thunder Punch. Again and again and again. Clefable just kept trying to land an attack, but Typhlosion was unrelenting. Unlike Izuku had predicted, it seemed like Clefable was getting fatigued much faster than her opponent.
"I can't watch this!" One of the Heroes in the audience stood up. "Hey! You wanna be a Hero? You're clearly much stronger than her! You're brutalizing this Pokemon right in front of us! You're no Hero! Quit having fun hurting that Pokemon!"
The audience booed Katsuki, but he paid them no attention. He and Typhlosion continued their onslaught on Clefable. After all, she wouldn't stop fighting. "The audience doesn't like Bakugo! Honestly, I agree with- ACK." Present Mic was cut short by an elbow to the face from Aizawa.
He quickly took a hold of the microphone and held it close to him. "Who said that? Was that a Pro? How many years have you been a Hero?" His sudden question shut the audience up fast. "If you really meant that, then I suggest you pack your bags and find work elsewhere!"
"Mr. Aizawa..." Class 1-A watched in disbelief. They had never heard Aizawa have this much emotion in his voice.
"Bakugo and Typhlosion aren't just mindlessly beating Clefable. They're on guard because they know just how powerful Uraraka and her Pokemon are. He's acknowledged the strength it took to even come this far! He's here to win! That's why he isn't holding back!"
It was true. Despite the odds, even a single Mega Punch was already enough to deal a significant amount of damage to Katsuki's Typhlosion, a Pokemon that was considered one of, if not the best in the entire competition. If that doesn't speak to Clefable, a Special Attacker's power, then nothing would.
The smoke cleared once more, revealing an exhausted Clefable. Both she and Ochako were breathing heavily. Despite being just a trainer, having to think fast against Katsuki and command her Pokemon was an extremely tiring task.
"You're not down yet." Katsuki said, half-commending Ochako and Clefable for lasting this long. "It'll all be over soon." The girl said, her and Clefable taking a moment to breathe. "Thank you for not letting your guard down!"
Neito smiled as he relaxed in his seat. "It sucked for Bakugo, but it was even more embarrassing to the Pros who booed him without even noticing." Itsuka looked at him with confusion. "Noticed what?" The boy pointed up into the sky, revealing a huge amount of rubble held up in the sky by Clefable's Psychic.
Izuku now realized her plan this whole time. "She knew what Katsuki's fighting style was. Knowing him, he'd create a lot of rubble on his own. However, in order to really maximize the destruction, she was forced to fight him up close. She ended up having Clefable use Psychic on all the rubble and hold them in the sky for an all out attack!"
Ochako and Clefable smiled as they got ready. "We will win! Time for our Ultimate Move! Psychic Meteor Shower!" She and her Pokemon both shouted in a fit of passion. Clefable didn't simply release the rubble from her Psychic. No, she went all out and made them rocket downard at extreme speeds. This attack was the one to end it all. Right here, right now.
Typhlosion and Katsuki looked up as they watched the rubble fall. This was it! Ochako had finally beaten him! Clefable ran forward and readied one more Mega Punch to help finish this off. She was finally going to win! She was going to be more like Deku! Except, somehow, Katsuki wasn't even bothered. He simply pointed to the sky. "Lava Plume."
With a single attack, Typhlosion created a giant explosion that completely destroyed all the rocks flying down at him. The explosion was so powerful that it created a blast of wind that made even the audience members struggle to remain in their seats. It pushed Clefable all the way back to the other side of the battlefield.
Everyone stared in disbelief as they saw Typhlosion just standing there, not a single scratch on his body. "You've been hanging around Deku a lot lately." Katsuki said. "I knew you'd have some kind of scheme planned." One. Single. Move. He destroyed everything in a single attack. That was the only lead they had left.
"A-And Typhlosion takes out the Meteor Shower! What a s-spectacular display?" Present Mic said, unsure about the last bit.
He had completely destroyed her strategy. However, it wasn't perfectly fine for Typhlosion. That one gigantic Lava Plume really took a toll on his body. Creating that giant explosion wasn't exactly easy. Katsuki could see the flames on his Pokemon's back begin to dwindle.
Ochako placed her hand over her face and felt like she was ready to cry. "That was the best we could do... It's over..." Clefable slowly stood back up and turned to her trainer. Ochako saw her partner and realized what she was trying to say. "You can… keep fighting?" Clefable nodded and stomped her foot on the ground. They were both exhausted, but still alive.
Ochako smiled and nodded. "Okay! We can't… give up yet!" She said, taking a moment to breathe in between her words.
Katsuki smiled and he pumped his fist. Typhlosion began running toward Clefable with flames beginning to cover his body. "This is where the real fight begins! Let's do this, Uraraka!" Katsuki shouted.
Ochako meekly pointed forward, commanding Clefable to move forward. However, Typhlosion stopped its attack when he saw the Pokemon fall to the ground just as soon as it started walking.
"C-Clefable!" Ochako called out, running up to her Partner Pokemon. "Clefable has fallen down!"
"Come on! We can still do this! Just a little longer!" Clefable tried getting up but collapsed again. She hadn't been knocked out yet, but things weren't looking good at all. She was utterly exhausted. "She's passed her limit," Izuku said sadly.
"Clefable! Mom and dad are counting on us! Please! Please get up!" Then, Clefable stopped responding. Midnight approached them to confirm then win, then she held up her hand. Present Mic let out a sigh of disappointment.
"Clefable is no longer able to battle! Bakugo and Typhlosion win!"
Ochako was escorted back to her changing room where she could wait for Clefable to heal at a nearby Pokemon Center station. "Good job, Typhlosion. Take it easy." Katsuki said before returning his Pokemon. He watched Ochako as she made her way back into the hallway.
Present Mic relaxed in his chair. "That concludes the first round of the tournament! After a short break, we will proceed with Round Two."
Izuku decided to visit Ochako and check in on her. He entered the interior of the stadium, but instead, he accidentally ended up running into Katsuki.
"K-Kacchan!"
"What is it? You wanna die?!"
"N-No! I'm up next so I just wanted to prepare. Okay, goodbye!" He began speed walking away when Katsuki called his attention one more time. "You were the one who came up with that plan, right?" He asked, stopping Izuku from walking any further.
"That stupid, risky plan of hers. You really are annoying. Stop-"
"No." Izuku cut Katsuki off. He turned to face his childhood bully. "Everything was planned out by Uraraka herself to fight you. If you thought it was annoying, that was because her plan actually could have worked."
Without another word, Katsuki simply left and joined the others at the seats. "How could you do that to a frail girl like her, Bakugo." Denki asked. Katsuki just scoffed and turned to the stadium. "There was nothing frail about her."
Izuku eventually arrived at Ochako's waiting room. He entered where he found her smiling as she rubbed the back of her head. "Aw man, I lost!" She told him. Izuku was astonished at how positive she was despite how absolutely brutal that match was.
"I really thought I could get him, too! Oh well. I was being overconfident." She said with a laugh. "H-How's Clefable?" Izuku asked. "Oh! She's doing just fine. She's resting in her Pokeball now, but she's back in good health."
Ochako stood up and shut her eyes. "Man, Bakugo really is strong! I had like, no chance against him! I really need to work harder!" She opened them again and saw Izuku just staring at her like she had just committed a crime.
"Uh… a-are you okay?" He asked, specifically referring to her strangely cheery disposition. Ochako smiled. "I'm okay, surprisingly enough." Her phone then began ringing. "Deku, I can't be down just because I lost one battle."
"But-"
"And the winner of the arm wrestle is Druddigon! Kirishima moves on to the next round! We will begin the first match of Round Two in just a few minutes. We call the next contestants to their positions."
Izuku looked up at the speaker and sighed. "Already? Well, if you're really feeling okay, then I'll see you later." He said as he opened the door.
"W-Wait, Deku! I'm sorry! You weren't able to prepare at all!" Ochako apologized. Izuku shook his head and smiled. "No, it's fine."
Ochako smiled back and she gave him a thumbs up. "Okay, do your best out there. I'll be watching." Izuku nodded and closed the door. As soon as he was gone, the girl quickly opened her phone and dialed the missed number.
"Hey, dad." She said. "Sorry I missed your call." Her father simply laughed. "No, I'm sorry for calling you when you're so busy! Mom and I were watching you on TV and I couldn't help it! You were so close! That was an amazing battle."
Ochako shook her head. "It wasn't close, and it wasn't amazing at all. I totally ended up messing up. I didn't have any kind of back up plan or anything. It was a complete wash."
"I see..." Her father said. "I'm not sure how your school works, but a loss isn't the end of the road, right? You always have next year to compete."
"But I only got to compete in one match. The scouts from the Hero Agencies won't even want to consider me."
Once again, her father laughed. "Now why are you in such a rush?" Ochako felt the urge to cry, but she fought it. "Because… because I just wanna help you guys already. I don't want you or mom to worry anymore."
Her father was silent for a moment. "Ochako, there's no need to be in such a hurry. I know that a girl with a big heart like yours will make an amazing Hero someday. Mom and I are so proud of you." She couldn't hold back her tears anymore and began crying.
Izuku heard the whole thing. Of course, she was sad about her loss. He wanted to help her, but she didn't want to worry him. She's inspired him, yet again.
He stepped forward, ready to face his next foe. Except, there was one thing between him and the next match. Endeavor turned the corner and bumped into Izuku.
"Endeavor!" Izuku shouted out. The Pro Hero looked down at the boy. "Ah, there you are."
"W-Why are you here?!" Izuku asked. "I've seen your battle. You have some powerful Pokemon on you. It's very reminiscent to that of All Might's I'd say." The young boy froze. How did he figure it out so fast?! There was no way he knew about One for All, so what was it?
"My Shoto has the duty to one day become stronger than even All Might. His match with you will prove to be productive in that field." Endeavor said. It was just as Shoto had told him. This man was obsessed with making his son into a powerful trainer. "Don't hold back against him. It'll be a disgrace if you throw this match. That's all. Sorry for holding you up."
"I'm not All Might." Izuku's comment caught Endeavor off-guard. "That's obvi-"
"Obvious, right?" Izuku cut him off. "The same goes for Todoroki. He isn't you, either." The two of them looked at each other for a moment, but without another word, the young boy left.
Uraraka joined Tenya and Fumikage just before the next match. "That was a tough match, Uraraka." The Class Representative said. Fumikage nodded. "Still, don't regret the fight. Treat it as a learning experience."
Present Mic reentered the Commentators Booth and hyped up the audience. "Okay, folks! The first match of Round Two is going to be a big one!"
Izuku and Shoto both stepped onto the battlefield and pulled out their Pokeballs.
"During his first round, he literally froze half the stadium! Todoroki Shoto from Class 1-A! His opponent is the man whose Pokemon pulled an important evolution right at the last second! It's Izuku Midoriya, also from Class 1-A! Contestants, please send out your Pokemon!"
"Ninetales, come back out."
"Riolu, I need you!"
The two Pokemon took the field and their trainers got ready. "This is the battle you've all been waiting for, ladies and gentlemen! It is Todoroki versus Midoriya! The Battle of the Titans!"
Izuku and Riolu nodded toward each other and they both got ready. This was the most important battle of the entire tournament. This was the round where they had to truly show off what they could do.
"Begin!"
