Chapter Fifteen: I Object
In the main hall of the palace, Amy and Scourge were at the front of the altar, as the wedding ceremony has started. Many people were there to witness this, and King Alfred sat at the very front. Cream and Tikal stood just behind Amy.
"Prince Scourge II, do you take Princess Amelia Rose to be your wife, to live together in holy matrimony, to love her, to honour her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?" the priest asks.
"I do." Scourge replied, as he tried holding back his disgust.
"And do you, Princess Amelia Rose, take Prince Scourge II to be your husband, to live together in holy matrimony, to love him, to honour him, to comfort him, and to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?" the priest asked again.
Amy hesitated on her answer, as sad tears fell from her eyes.
"What is the matter, my dear?" Scourge asked, trying to hold back his impatience.
"Amelia, it's alright. All you need to say is 'I do'." Alfred tell her.
"I... I do not!" Amy responded.
The audience gasped in surprise. They never thought they would hear this from Amy.
"What do you mean you do not?!" Scourge answered, annoyed.
"I'm sorry, Daddy! I can't do this! It doesn't feel right!" Amy sobbed.
"What do you mean, Angel?" Alfred asked.
"Daddy, I want to be married to someone I know that I love, but I am sorry, Scourge, I don't love you!" Amy told Scourge.
"What do you mean you don't love me?!" Scourge again getting annoyed.
Suddenly, the doors got knocked open, and in came Sonic, and behind him was Tails, Knuckles, Shadow and Rouge. Amy, Scourge, Alfred and everyone else looked towards the doors
"I OBJECT!" yelled Sonic.
Amy looked on in shock.
"Sonic?" Amy exclaimed.
"Hey, Blue! What are you doing here? I thought I told you to head on home?" Scourge called out.
"I am sorry to crash this wedding, but Your Highness, King Alfred, you can't let this wedding happen!" Sonic warned.
"And why do you say that, young man?" Alfred asked, wondering what is going on.
"Scourge doesn't care about this village. He doesn't care about your daughter either, if you let this wedding proceed, he will harm everybody here!" Sonic finished.
Everyone gasped in shock.
"That's preposterous! Alfred, I have been loyal to you for years, he's a commoner, he doesn't know what he's talking about. Look at him, wherever he got that black eye from, that knock to his face left a screw loose." Scourge lied.
"Like what YOU did to me?!" Sonic asked sternly.
"See what I mean, Alfred? Complete nonsense!" Scourge lied again.
"I believe him." Amy stated.
Everyone gasped in shock.
"You believe him?!" Scourge asked annoyed.
"Scourge, tell me one thing, why was it you chose the dress, and never gave me a say in this? That doesn't sound like you care. It was what you chose, because it's what YOU wanted! So I am sorry, but this wedding is off!" Amy yelled, as she took the engagement ring off her finger, and threw it away.
Everyone gasped in shock.
"I demand to know what is going on here!" Alfred yelled impatiently.
"Your Highness, if I may, you want Amy to be happy, don't you?" Sonic asked.
"More than anything." Alfred replied.
"And when you married Amy's mother, was she happy with you, or was she forced against her will, like you're doing with Amy right now?" Sonic asked again.
"We loved one another before we were married against our will, yes, she loved me dearly, as I did her." Alfred replied.
"Well, if your wife can have her happily ever after story, why can't Amy have hers? In fact, there's more I have to say in this." Sonic stated.

(Sonic singing)
Everyone's around
Not one word coming now
I just can't find my breath
May I just say the rest with no sound?

Sonic looks at King Alfred. Alfred nods his head.
"Say what you need to, young one." Alfred agreed.

(Sonic singing)
Though I know this isn't enough,
I still won't measure up
Nor am I prepared
Sorry's never been there when you need it

Sonic stood forward, and walked his way to the middle of the aisle. He was looking at Amy the entire time, and Amy looked back at him.

(Sonic singing)
And I do want you to know
I'd hold you up above everyone

I think you'd be great for me
Like I'd be so good to you

Everyone gasped at what Sonic was saying, and even Alfred was stunned by this. Because not even Scourge shown this much affection to Amy.

Amy smiled at Sonic, with tears flowing from her eyes. This was the moment she was waiting for, she stepped away from Scourge.
"Amy, get back here, we have a wedding to finish!" Scourge yelled.
But Amy ignored him, and kept looking at Sonic.

(Amy singing)
I knew I saw a sign
Somewhere between those lines
But maybe that's me
Maybe I only saw what I want

Amy walked down the steps, and took off the cape that was attached to her dress, which she was glad to be rid of, because she despised that cape so much.

But I still have your letter
I got caught between
Someone I had invented

Amy then started walking towards Sonic. Everyone watched this scenario in surprise, but Tails, Knuckles, Shadow and Rouge just smiled. Even Alfred cracked a little smile, although Scourge was getting annoyed with this.

As soon as Amy made it in front of Sonic, Sonic immediately grabbed hold of both of Amy's hands, and they both continued to stare at one another.

King Alfred's smile grew warmer, as he saw how happy Amy was with Sonic. He has never seen her so happy in his life before.

(Sonic and Amy singing)

After that, the audience applauded at this scenery. Although Scourge was really starting to get very annoyed.
"Can we please stop wasting time, and get this wedding over with?!" Scourge yelled in annoyance.
"Didn't you hear her, Scourge? She said the wedding is off!" Alfred yelled at him.
"You're not seriously going to believe this, are you?" Scourge asked, in panic.
"Is it true, Scourge? You were going to do us damage if you took over this kingdom?!" Alfred yelled as he asked.
"So what if it is?!" Scourge yelled.
The people looked back at Scourge in shock.
