We found a middle school to go to for more information on the Jersey Devil. We had to go to the library for more to do the research. I sat in front of one of the computers. Right next to me was a young girl near Anise's age. The young girl had short green hair with a blue ribbon in it. She tapped me on the shoulder. "Excuse me, ma'am. I hate to bother you, but what are you doing?" asked the girl. "I'm doing research about the Jersey Devil," I said. She got surprised. "I'm familiar with the Jersey Devil. I think I saw it once while I was camping with my family in the Pine Barrens when I was a little girl," the girl said. "I'm sorry to change the subject but are you a student here?" I asked the girl. "Yes. My name's Sally Castro. You don't look like a student here," she said. "I'm not," I said. I introduced myself then Googled the Jersey Devil. I found a Wikipedia page. And read the story of its legend. The Jersey Devil was also known as the Leeds Monster because in a legend, Mother Leeds had abandoned her 13th child in a forest. The child was said to be a monster, but it was born normal. On a stormy night, Mother Leeds left her 13th infant in the Pine Barrens. When she left, the infant was enraged about being rejected that it turned into the monster all by itself. This took place in the 1730's. The current year in this story was 2013. We're currently located in a middle school at the Atlantic City. The Pine Barrens weren't too far from the city. Sally wanted to join my party to hunt for the monster. She asked the principle if she could join my party. He had to make a phone call to her mom and he said "yes" because her mom had seen the beast before. Sally got excited. When we went into the Pine Barrens (I mean DEEP), I saw something perched up in a tree. I stopped walking. It looked like a giant owl because I could hardly see it, but I saw its glowing red eyes. It saw me. Whatever it was, it spread its bat-like wings and took off. I gasped. "Kaede, is something a matter?" Regal asked me when he heard me gasp. "Everyone, stand back and watch out," I said. Soon I saw something fly towards me. It landed in front of me. It was the Jersey Devil! It was HUGE! Bigger than Regal. He's the tallest person in my party. He's 6'2. I was surprised to see the height of the Jersey Devil. I was scared, too. It let out a blood-curdling scream. We fought it until it was weak. When we defeated it, it let out a loud scream, knocking me and Colette on our butts. Then the monster gazed at me with glowing red eyes. It growled at me and I saw its eyes flash. Suddenly I was paralyzed. "Agh! I can't move," I cried. "Kaede, you've been paralyzed," Jade cried. Then the Jersey Devil picked me up and trapped me in its mouth. I was caged in by its sharp fangs. I was scared as Duat! The monster flew away with me towards a nearby mountain. It dropped me on a huge flat rock on top of the mountain. The Jersey Devil let out a scream that scared me. "What do you want from me?!" I cried to the monster, getting up. The monster cocked its head. We looked at each other for a few seconds then it growled. The giant beast used its head to knock me down off the rock I was on. I got up and the beast knocked me down again. It did that a couple more times. I was enjoying that a little. Soon I held my hand out in a "stop" position. "Stop. That's enough," I said. Then the Jersey Devil growled. I soon had an idea to calm it down. I did an animal-hopping dance and attempted to do a cartwheel. I fell down and the Jersey Devil helped me up. Soon I saw the scorpion statue with emerald eyes. I tried to get to it but the monster caught me and grabbed me. Then my party came. "Look there! It's the Jersey Devil. It's got Kaede and the scorpion," Ryo cried. The Jersey Devil saw my party. Sally was so ready to hit the Jersey Devil with her mallet hammer. "Stop," I cried. I think I've some how befriended the Jersey Devil. Then I saw Mieu. "Mieu, please speak to the Jersey Devil," I said. Mieu looked scared. He hopped into Luke's arms. "But, master. I'm scared," Mieu said. "Don't be scared. Be brave and speak up," Luke said to Mieu, putting him down in front of the Jersey Devil. It opened the mouth to drop me on the ground and sniffed Mieu. Mieu spoke up by saying his name like he did to the stray cat, the dragon, and Shere Khan. I think cheagles communicate with each other by saying "mieu". The Jersey Devil let out a soft growl. "The Jersey Devil said 'I was pretty much bored until I met you guys, especially that girl I captured'," Mieu said referring to me and my party. The Jersey Devil growled happily. "The Jersey Devil's thinking about joining your party," Mieu said. It let me pet it. We brought it to the Albiore II. We also brought the scorpion. Noelle freaked out to see the Jersey Devil. "What the heck is that?!" Noelle shouted with fright when she saw it. "That's the Jersey Devil," I said. We wondered what to do with the Jersey Devil. Sheena had an Idea. She wanted it turned into a summon spirit at Sybak. "We might have to return it to its home. BUT, we can use a DNA sample to make a duplicate of it at Sybak," I said. Sheena agreed. I knifed a few hairs off of the Jersey Devil and put the hairs in my wallet as I hugged the Jersey Devil. It licked me "good-bye", walked out of the Albiore II's door, and flew away. Then I heard the pharaoh's voice again. "Good job. The next treasure is the lapis hippo. It's currently located in a giant volcano in Honolulu, Hawaii. This might be your first time dealing with the Hyskos. There's a Hysko camp near the volcano. Please be careful," King Tutankhamen said. "Hawaii?" Zelos asked. "I think that it was famous for its Hula-dancing women," I said to Zelos. He got excited, but Guy was nervous. "What's the matter," Sally asked Guy. "No offence, but I've got gynophobia," Guy said. "You're so handsome," Sally said to Guy. He thanked her, but Zelos got a bit pissed off. He gently grabbed Sally. Sally called him handsome, too. Soon she saw Mieu. "Aaaaww. That animal is SO adorable," Sally cried, coming up to Mieu. Mieu greeted her and introduced himself. "It talked," Sally cried, referring to Mieu. I came up to Sally and told her that I adored Mieu, too. "Mieu is so cute that I wish I could take him home," I said.
