INT. Police Department Conference Room - EVENING (Scene 2.9)

The men of the team are already sitting around a table in the PD conference room when JJ and Prentiss enter. After several hours, they'd finally met with each of the six victims' family

Hotch: JJ, Emily anything interesting come up?

JJ sat down right away, but Prentiss walked over to the board that had been set up.

Prentiss: Nothing stood out. All seem to be nice girls, some single and some not. Other than appearance, they don't seem to have much in common, There's a kindergarten teacher, a sales associate, two were unemployed [she points at each girl as she references them]

JJ, shrugging: It's a small town, but there's no indication any of these women even knew each other.

Hotch: Garcia, there's got to be something we're missing. Look into their credit card statements, social media, anything that can paint a picture of their daily routines.

Garcia: Gotcha, Hotcha. Get it- Hotch - Got-

Hotch interrupts Garcia

Hotch: We understood Garcia. Rossi anything from the ME?

Rossi: looks like they were blitzed and then beaten with weapons of opportunities and raped after they died. Major overkill.

Rossi emphasizes "AFTER"

Reid:Based on the level of violence, I think it's pretty obvious he's got major anger issues but because of the hesitation wound on the first victim, I think his first kill was an accident.

Morgan: Maybe he just meant to rape her, but got carried away and killed her, realized he liked it and got off on it and then had to keep killing.

Reid agrees with Morgan and nods to demonstrate Morgan had expressed what he was thinking as well

Rossi: Yeahh, but he'd have to build up to something like that [as he says this, he wags his finger as if he's about to point to an imaginary lightbulb in the room. He's got an idea] He's got a record- probably assault charges like a bar fight or domestic violence.

JJ: However, the unsub was organized enough to clean up the crime scene. I mean look at the stab wounds on Claudia, the last victim, there had to be tons of blood.

JJ was still communications liaison, but recently she'd been contributing more to profiles. This made the team, particularly Hotch, pleased.

None of them thought of JJ's role as liaison as any less important as theirs- in fact, it was vital-but it was clear she too had a knack for profiling. Hotch was glad she was speaking up more, and being more active in the field.

Prentiss: He's probably physically fit based on the strength it would have taken to blitz and beat these victims and with anger issues like his, he would [on "would" she emphasizes by moving her chin] have had problems with authority [her hands make a rounding shape almost like two parentheses: ( )]

Morgan adds on to Prentiss' sentiment

Morgan: So he probably didn't get much of an education, probably high school diploma at most

Prentiss: So many he's got a menial job like a janitor, because of the cleaning aspect.

Reid: He's criminally sophisticated enough to not leave DNA, but I doubt he's smart enough to try and insert himself into the investigation.

Hotch: Agreed. Garcia, cross reference janitors with men who have violent criminal records

Garcia: Cross referencing is my forte, but even in a town this small, there are quite a few skeezy janitors. Any way we can narrow this down?

Hotch: He's white and based on the evolving MO, probably young, maybe around 25 - 35, although he could be older if he's done time. Does that help?

Garcia: yeah, yeah. I'll hit you back when I have something. Garcia out.

Garcia ends her end of the phone call

Hotch: Ok, JJ and I will announce the preliminary profile to the press. Everybody else should get some rest. We'll start up again tomorrow.

Hotch and JJ grab their folders and head outside to the gaggle of press outside the PD.
