Chapter 7

The Rose Crystal

Back in Juuban, Chibiusa soon marched towards the front gates of a tall building. She already knew that it was Mugen Infinity Academy, but she felt a strong force calling to her from within.

"I can feel something from my own compact," she said as she looked at Mugen Academy's front entrance.

She let her arm drop to her side, and clenched her hand tightly.

"Maybe the Rose Crystal has to be in here," she said to herself.

"Hold it," a voice called to her.

Chibiusa turned around, and saw that it was Riku, but then she noticed her friend Momoko Momohara standing beside him.

"Big Brother Riku, Momo, what are you guys doing here?" she asked.

"You ask too much of yourself, Chibiusa," said Momoko.

"Yeah, it's not wise of you to ask your best friend, or your own soul brother that question. Besides, I also overheard that this Rose Crystal is in this place, and it can help Mamoru get better again," added Riku.

"So let's go inside quickly," said Momoko.

Chibiusa nodded, and slowly walked forward with Riku at her side. But as they passed the front gate, closed behind them and locked them in.

"No point in turning back now. Once we find that Rose Crystal, we'll need to find another way out of Mugen Academy, which used to be referred to as, Death Buster Central," Riku said grimly.

"Don't worry, I'm sure there's another entrance somewhere," Chibiusa assured her big brother.

Momoko nodded as well, and they bravely marched through the building. But neither of them noticed Anshar in the main office that was several floors up.

"Why? Why are those people here? Those two… they're helping Lady Serenity," He said, in shock.

But he walked slowly away with his pet cat, called Kishar, behind him.

"Sister, may I go to where they are and have them escorted out?" he asked.

"What did you say, Anshar?" demanded Sin.

She stormed towards the window.

"They're our enemies. While they are in their youth, this Keyblade Wielder called Riku will make it difficult for you to eliminate them," Anshar's sister said, as she seethed with rage.

Then Sin stormed up to Anshar and glared at him.

"You will eliminate those three quickly, and then we'll return to our time, are we clear on this matter?" she said.

Anshar nodded, and walked off into a corridor of darkness that his sister had opened up.

"This girl isn't right for you, brother. The person for you should be someone like me." hissed Sin.

She clicked her fingers, and soon summoned a small strike force of droids, youma, and heartless to her side.

"Find the girl and bring her to me, dead or alive," commanded the Opposite Soldier of Destiny.

Below in the main lobby, Chibiusa, Riku, and Momoko were now walking cautiously through the main halls of Mugen Academy. They had managed to climb a few flights of stairs, and entered a classroom of the school, which Haruka, Michiru, and Setsuna attended before learning that it was run by Professor Souichirou Tomoe.

"This place really gives me the creeps. We need to get out of here right now, guys!" shuddered Momoko.

"Don't worry Momoko. We'll make it out," assured Riku.

But they suddenly saw the dark creatures about to attack them, forcing the silverette to draw his keyblade when they caught Momoko who screamed loudly.

"MOMOKO!" cried Riku and Chibiusa.

But then they heard a door open next to them. In stepped Anshar and Kishar who quickly dispatched the dark creatures that had almost ambushed them.

"Looks like I'm just in time," he said.

He then turned to the three individuals.

"Are you three okay?" asked Anshar.

"Yeah. who are you?" asked Riku.

"I'm Anshar. Are you really okay?" replied Anshar.

"We're fine, but Momo isn't," said Chibiusa.

"This girl you call, Momoko, looks a bit funny," mused Anshar.

"Hey, Momoko. Are you okay?" asked Riku.

"Yeah, I'm fine. But I'm just a bit sleepy," yawned Momoko, who collapsed into Riku's arms.

"What's happened to her Anshar?" Chibiusa asked in desperation.

"It looks like she's been poisoned. Eventually she'll become weak and she'll be brought to the Final World," replied Anshar.

"No way is that gonna happen!" Riku said firmly.

"It'll be fine. If we can get her to sleep in the infirmary, I can give her some treatment and your friend Momoko will be alright," Anshar assured them.

"If you're right, and it's the only way to help Momo get better, then we'll follow your lead Anshar," smiled Chibiusa.

Then they heard Kishar meowing at them.

"What's the name of your cat, Anshar?' asked Riku.

"He's known as Kishar," replied Anshar.

"He looks very humanoid," observed Chibiusa.

"Yeah, everyone seems to think he's cute, but we'd better get moving, Princess," said Anshar.

This made Riku glare at him.

"Her name is Usagi, but we mostly refer to her as Chibiusa," he said.

"Oh, I'm sorry, but your sister looks like someone I know. For now, let's get ourselves out of this place," replied Anshar.

"Well, there's just one problem. The school's gates must have closed when we walked in," said Riku.

"We can open them if we get to the school's control room," suggested Anshar.

"Yeah, but we gotta get Momo to the infirmary for treatment first," said Chibiusa.

"I understand. Well then, let's go," replied Anshar.

Riku carefully picked up Momoko in his arms, then he and Chibiusa quickly left the class room. But then Anshar became suspicious.

"That must have been the attack my sister had been planning. If she was the one who tried to hurt that girl, then what she's done can not be forgiven," he said cautiously.

Quickly he grabbed Kishar and raced out the door to follow them. When he joined them in the school corridors, Riku carefully led the way to the school infirmary, but Chibiusa noticed something on the door.

"There's a key left here…" she said.

"We can use it to open the door to the main control room, then we can find the switch to help us open the gates and get ourselves to safety," added Riku.

They decided to press on, until they had managed to reach the door to the infirmary.

"Looks like this is it," Riku said, as he gently set Momoko down.

"But if we can open the door to the control room, we can open the door to the infirmary as well," replied Chibiusa.

They then turned to Anshar.

"Anshar, Chibiusa and I have a favor to ask of you," said Riku.

"What is it?" asked Anshar.

"Look after Momoko, and make sure nothing happens to her," replied Chibiusa.

Anshar nodded and watched as they went inside, but a smile started to crawl onto his lips.

"So, they're going in together," he whispered to himself.

When they went inside, the door suddenly locked behind them.

"So, it was a trap," murmured Riku.

"Are you two okay in there?" Anshar asked from behind the door.

"We're fine Anshar, but it looks like we can't open the door!" replied Chibiusa.

Suddenly an alarm sounded and a metallic voice began repeating, "Intruder Alert!" then another cybernetic voice told them to enter a password into the main computer.

"We don't know any password!" said Chibiusa.

A buzzer sounded, and the computerized voice declared that any and all intruders would be removed.

"Great!" hissed Riku.

Chibiusa gripped her compact tightly, and soon transformed into Sailor Chibi Moon, while Riku summoned his Braveheart Keyblade. They were now surrounded by Heartless and Youma, but Sailor Chibi Moon concentrated hard on her Pink Sugar Heart wand, and unleashed a full power Pink Sugar Heart Attack upon the Heartless, instantly destroying them.

"Time's up!" Riku stated as he concentrated on his keyblade.

He struck down the first youma with relative ease, then jumped back and sent several dark projectiles at the other one. Once they were all defeated, the door unlocked itself, and Anshar stepped in with Kishar at his side.

"I'm glad you two are alright," he said.

"Yeah, nothing to it," replied Riku.

"Now let's go shut down that computer!" Anshar said.

He punched in a series of keyed patterns, and the computer deactivated.

"That should do it, now we can leave the school, so let's get going, Riku, Princess," he said proudly.

"Come on Anshar, you gotta learn to call her Chibiusa," said Riku.

"Big Brother Riku's right, you gotta be careful with names," agreed Chibiusa.

Anashar hung his head in shame.

"Before we head out of the school, we gotta find the infirmary and help Momoko," said Chibiusa.

"Oh, right. We gotta find the infirmary," replied Anshar.

In the school director's office, Sin was growing impatient.

"Stupid fool. There's no point in letting them go. I'll finish them off here and now. But how shall I do it?" she asked.

Then she had a fiendish Idea.

"Ah, I know. I can use the girl's friend," Sin said with a crafty smirk.

She then decided to put her plan into motion.

"Oh, Anshar. Come back to your beloved sister, please," she said in a convincingly sweet tone.

Back in the corridors of Mugen Academy, Chibiusa, Riku, Anshar, and Kishar were now searching for the nurse's office. Soon they walked inside and Riku gently placed Momoko on the bed.

"That should do it," he said.

Anshar sighed with relief.

"In a little while, Momoko will awaken," he said

"Yeah, thanks Anshar. Let's get Momoko out of this school," smiled Chibiusa.

"But before we leave, Anshar. Chibiusa and I are searching for a sacred treasure that's known as the Rose Crystal. Do you have any idea where it could be?" asked Riku.

"I'm afraid, I don't have a clue about where such an item exists. But, I'd like to know why you're looking for this Rose Crystal," replied Anshar.

"It's because she's planning to take away that girl's important person, Anshar," Momoko said.

"Momoko's awakened!" cheered Chibiusa.

But Anshar knew who it was.

"No, that's the voice of my sister, Sin!" gasped Anshar.

He clenched his fist tightly.

"What have you done to her friend!?" he demanded.

"Oh, Anshar. You really need to open your eyes to the truth," chuckled Sin.

Chibiusa whirled around and saw a dark corridor open before her, and out stepped Sin.

"I thought that was you, Sin," Riku said darkly.

"So that's the person who hurt Mamo," murmured Chibiusa.

"How many times have you missed the princess, the Keyblade Wielder, and not even bothered to look for us?" Sin asked her brother.

Riku and Chibiusa were shocked by what they had heard.

"If you helped us now, the flow of destiny would be in our hands," she said furiously.

"But, Sister!" protested Anshar.

"What!?" gasped Chibiusa.

"So, that's your sister?" asked Riku.

Then they noticed Momoko climbing out of the bed, and onto the floor below.

"No! She's become a puppet! Riku, take the princess and get out of this place! Hurry! I'll join you after I help her friend! Just Run as far and as fast as you can!" cried Anshar.

"No way, Traitor!" snapped Riku, who had his keyblade held at the ready.

"If you're willing to perish, then so be it!" smirked Sin.

"You stay out of this!" Riku said furiously as he charged at Sin.

But she batted him aside and struck Chibiusa down.

"What do you think you're doing? This wasn't part of the plan, sister!" Anshar said in desperation.

"Save it Anshar! You must have been spying on us through your sister's machinations!" Riku said furiously as he recovered.

"No! I didn't want to have any part of it! She's the one who forced me into this, and is controlling Momoko!" protested Anshar.

Quickly, he transported Momoko to another location where she wouldn't get hurt.

"Well, I'd say the time has come to head back, dear brother," Sin said with a sadistic smile.

"I'm done following your ways, sister!" snapped Anshar.

He then took Riku's hand and placed Chibiusa over his shoulder, then he teleported them all to safety. Chibiusa slowly awoke in a strange forested area.

Where am I?" she asked.

Then she wondered where Momoko had gone.

"She's safe," a voice said from nearby.

Chibiusa was relieved to see that Riku was still in one piece. Then they turned and noticed Anshar lying unconscious in front of a large cave. They went to his side, and decided to see if he was still breathing.

"You okay, Anshar?" asked Chibiusa.

"I'm fine, but it looks like taking you both with me used up my energy. However, I was able to get Momoko to safety," groaned Anshar.

"Do you know where we are?" asked Riku.

"I don't think so. It looks like we must be inside your guiding light," replied Anshar.

"The light of the Silver Crystal," Chibiusa said with realization.

"Do you think the Rose Crystal is in this place?" asked Riku.

But Anshar didn't respond, which made Chibiusa worried.

"Looks like he's unconscious," he said to her.

"Well, at least you're with me," Chibiusa said with a relieved smile.

"We'll camp out here, and wait to see if any help will come to us," replied Riku.

Chibiusa nodded, and soon set to work in setting up the tent with Riku's help. Once they had finished, Riku made sure that they had a strong fire, with lots of wood he managed to gather up from the trees. Luckily, they had plenty of food and drinks to keep them sustained for a while.

"Sora, Usagi, if you can hear me, I hope you can find us with the guidance of your hearts," he said softly.

When Chibiusa heard Riku speaking in a calm tone, she was rather surprised, but also impressed by how relaxed he was in the way he sounded. She too agreed that they needed Sailor Moon and Sora at their side, as Riku carried the unconscious Anshar into the tent, and placed him in a sleeping bag so that he could rest.
