There was a hammock outside of Maria's house..
It had been a tiring few hours since Damien and Carol remembered their past.. Damien had needed some space for a bit to clear his head, excusing himself from dinner, Carol looking at him but nodding.. Understanding that Damien was feeling overwhelmed with what's been going on.
Damien had remembered this hammock outside, he had set it up so that himself and the kids could relax on it. Maria and Carol would sometimes find Damien and the twins along with Monica sleeping in the hammock, Damien's arms around all three kids as they snuggled into him.
Damien heard the crunching of the leaves, it was night time. It was silent for a moment before Damien looked over and saw one of his sons, Chase standing there.. Observing him. The twins had been keeping their distance from their parents as they were standing by their grandma's side.. But now that things were settling down, Chase had been curious enough to go close enough to his father.
"Chase.." He muttered and the boy was silent for a moment and he watched the boy, Chase was slightly taller than Jay by a couple of inches with dirty blonde hair almost like his own with green eyes.. Jay had similar hair color but when brown eyes. Chase was kicking the dirt lightly and Damien cleared his throat and he looked at his oldest son, and he patted the side next to him "Care to join me?" He asked and Chase was hesitant for a second before going towards his father and climbing into the hammock and settled next to him..
It was silent for a moment until Chase spoke quietly "Do you remember us? Me and Jay" He asked and Damien felt like his heart broke with that question and he looked at his son "My memory is slowly coming back, but I do remember you're my sons" He said and Chase nodded and laid back, his head near his own father's as he sighed "It sucks" The child said and Damien turned to face his son "What sucks?"
"You not remembering a lot of things.. How you would bring me and Jay to get ice cream or all of us watching movies.." Chase said and Damien looked at his son "You're pretty wise for your age" He observed as looking at the child, he sensed how Chase must have grown up fast after they died since he had to look after Jay"
The young boy shrugged and he looked at his dad "Are you and mom getting back together?" He questioned and Damien sighed softly, he knew that it was a question for both Damien and Carol to think of.. As both of them remembering how concerned and how much they cared for each other during the accident.. How Damien's feelings for her were still there when he didn't even know they were married and vice versa
"I don't know" Damien admitted and shook his head "It's not easy right now Chase, we're both just getting our memories back.. We're taking baby steps, okay?" He said and Chase nodded, knowing it was the end of the conversation and Chase looked over and frowned "Whose that?" He asked and Damien looked over and saw a woman standing there, kneeling in front of Jay whose hand's was raised, his nose bleeding.
Damien quickly got out of the hammock and ran towards them, Chase running behind as he quickly whistled at Jay who snapped out of his thoughts and broke the woman free of whatever Jay was doing, Damien's hand began to glow golden as he was ready to shoot a beam of energy at the woman until she raised a hand and time suddenly... stopped.
Damien looked around and saw that everything stopped, the fireflies that were flying in the dark were frozen in place and the water that were falling from the leaves were still hanging, not dropping to the ground..
Damien looked behind him and saw Chase was frozen in place but Jay wasn't as he was breathing heavily, wiping some blood away from his nose with his shirt sleeve and Damien looked at the woman "Undo this, before I blast you into next Tuesday" Damien warned as he stepped forward and then slowly making his way towards Jay, his son standing behind him as he peered over to look at the woman.
The woman had armor on, what you would knights would have but hers were light, she had brown hair and blue eyes that shined through the darkness and with her she carried a sword.. Damien's fist glowed golden "Who are you and why are you near my son?" He questioned and the woman watched Jay real quick before looking at Damien "I'm here to protect him"
"Well lady, he has a mother and father who aren't afraid to take down anyone that tries to lay a hand on him, so I advise you go away now.. Undo whatever the hell you did with the time and leave"
The woman shook her head as she looked at Damien "I'm taking about protecting him from figures that aren't here from this world.. I'm talking about cosmic figures that want your son dead.. He has a special gift, no one can stop me that easily.. Not even a God. But your son did" She whispered with a soft smile on her face and Damien frowned "What are you talking about? Who wants my son dead?"
"A titan, he has an army trying to kill figures that could possibly stop him.. The Kree army tried going after a newborn baby and kill her but her parents shipped her off, she's on a planet now raised by a peaceful species, there's another human here on earth but I made sure she was protected by someone else.. Someone more powerful with the mystic arts"
"So who are you?" He asked and the woman smiled softly "My name is Aya, I'm the Goddess of Protection.. I come from Asgard" She said and Damien frowned "I thought Asgard was from the stories.. I didn't expect you guys to be real"
"And you didn't expect to have powers but look where you are" Aya muttered and Damien nodded at that and he looked down at his son who was watching quietly and he looked at the Goddess "So when does this Titan come?" He questioned and Aya looked down "Currently he's wiping out different nations, leaving nothing but bodies"
"Why can't you stop him"
"Because if he manages to kill me, there will be no protection for the Infinity Stones" She responded and before Damien could open his mouth to question what the stones were she explained "Each stone has abilities, they could wipe our the universe if someone handles them wrongfully and I promise you.. This Titan wants use them to wipe out nations, get rid of half the universe"
Damien was silent and Aya looked at him before looking at Jay "But your son was born with special abilities, him with two other beings could help defeat them.. They were meant to" She explained and Jay's eyes widened and he stepped beside his father and Aya kneeled down "Come here for a moment, please" She muttered and Jay looked up at his father before Damien nodded and Jay went towards Aya and she picked up a rock and she nodded "Try to lift this rock with your mind.. I know you can do it"
Damien opened his mouth to say something, to tell her that this was stupid.. Jay couldn't lift things with his mind.. He never showed it before, he was just a normal kid.
Jay looked at the stone for a moment before raising a hand, a few moments later the stone lifted up a bit.. The stone was floating but wobbling and Jay was focusing as much as he could to make sure the stone was floating but he let out a breath before the stone fell back into Aya's hand and Jay turned back to his father, his nose was bleeding and Damien went towards his son and kneeled down "Hey, you're okay" Damien muttered and Aya cleared her throat before looking at Jay
"What am I thinking about?" She asked and Jay was silent for a moment, Damien frowned as Jay went towards the Goddess and placed his small hands on the sides of her head and he closed his eyes as he was trying hard to read her mind.. Damien thought it wouldn't work until Jay spoke softly
"You're thinking about your home.. I can literally see a picture of what it looks like.. The golden palace and the guards.." He whispered and Aya smiled softly "You're correct"
"And there's a man, with blond hair.. He has a hammer.. You're sad, you miss him.. You wish you could go back to him and tell him everything but you can't.." Jay whispered and Aya's eyes filled with tears as she nodded "You're very much right.."
Jay stepped back and released Aya and she stood up look at Damien "Your son is very powerful.. He's one of the first species of his kind that I've encountered" She whispered and looked at him "A mutant, he was born with this.."
Damien looked at his son and held his hand, Jay taking his father's hand and he looked at Aya "How much time do we have?" Damien asked and Aya looked at him "For what?" She questioned and Damien looked at his son
"You said my son and two others have to fight this titan.. How much time does he have until this thing comes? He's just a kid, he can't fight right now" Damien said and Aya looked at the child and father for a moment before looking at Damien
"At least three decades until he shows up, but he won't show up alone.. He will bring destruction and blood, but I can protect your son right now.. The three are meant to save the universe from Thanos, no matter what.. I can pose as the third but we will be on borrowed time because once he gets me.. He will know the truth and by then your son must be ready along with the other two to take him on"
"You're gonna sacrifice yourself to protect my son?" Damien whispered and Aya smiled softly "I will, because I know once your son is grown up and his powers develop I know he will beat Thanos"
Damien let out a breath as he looked at Jay who was looking at the woman with wide eyes before looking at his father and Damien looked towards Aya "Thank you.. Really, when the time comes.. We're gonna fight for our lives"
Aya smiled "That's all I ask" She said as she took her sword and she looked around "This may be our first and last meeting.. But I know your family will be a major key defeating him.. Damien, I must say something" She whispered and Damien looked at her confused and Aya smiled
"Thank you.." She said and before Damien could open his mouth, she had vanished, time had resumed and Chase was looking around and he went towards his brother and father
"Where's the lady?" He asked and Damien kneeled down and sighed "Boys, come here" He muttered and the twins walked towards their father and Damien looked at them for a moment before looking at Jay "How long have you had these powers?" He asked and Jay was silent until he muttered "They came a year after you and mom died"
Damien turned to Chase "Did you know?" He asked and Chase nodded and Damien looked at the two boys "I need you to promise me something" Damien said and the two boys nodded and Damien spoke softly
"In the future, something is gonna happen.. Me and mom will probably be there for you but if we aren't.. I want you two to promise me that you two would protect each other, look after each other.." Damien said and the boys looked at each other with wide eyes and Damien grabbed their hands "Promise me, no matter what you guys will always be brothers and you're gonna protect each other.. I know you'll have fights, I had plenty of them with my sister.. But we still loved each other by the end of the day"
Jay and Chase looked at their father before Chase nodded "We'll look after each other"
"Always" Jay said and Damien smiled and got up and went to hug his boys "Alright, let's go prepare for tomorrow.."
"You're letting us come with you to find the Kree?" Chase asked, hope in his voice and Damien shook his head "Your mother and I want you to stay with your grandma and Monica.. Up there is some grown-up business"
"But you know Jay has powers right?" Chase said and Damien narrowed his eyes playfully "That he needs to control, and plus I can't look after you two and help the Kree at the same time.. You need to be with Nini Mary incase we can't defeat the Kree here, she would need your help defending earth" He pointed out and Chase nodded "You're right.. Nini wouldn't be able to defend earth on her own"
Damien laughed "That's the spirit.. Come on, Maria must be done with the dinner now"
The boys nodded and began running back, the two boys pushing each other as they were trying to win their race and Damien watched them for a moment before looking at the sky and sighed

I've been thinking of writing another Captain America story, but im not sure if anyone would read it.. But im more focused on the GOT story and after this story is done I'm going back to Ant-Man and the Wasp story!
