Enjoy!
"He said it's here," was the first thing Lelouch said upon exiting the portal. He was now standing in front of what seemed to be a temple. A temple that seemed fit for royalty. With its golden design and marble structure, it was meant for little else.
His cloak rustled.
"Yes, I think they could have done with some subtlety as well."
Not wanting to waste time. Lelouch simply opened the door. It was unlocked. Though there were guards waiting at the other side. All of them women.
"Who are you?! Who dares to enter the home of the Holy Priestess?!"
"A concerned brother," Lelouch carelessly says aloud. He ignores the guards while looking for his sister.
"How dare you! You will pay for your insolence!"
"Hold that thought," Lelouch says. He nudges his cloak slightly, which then levitates him higher into the air. He uses his elevated position to avoid the guards and search for Nunnally.
Then he sees her.
Held high in the air and floating in a tube. She's being kept asleep by whatever liquid she is being drowned in. She's safe.
"Get him down! We cannot allow...!"
"Right. I should deal with them," Lelouch mutters as he calls Eldrich energies into his hands. When the spell was ready, he blew into his hands.
"Bring him down! The queen must... must..."
The guards were unable to process as thought after inhaling the energies from Lelouch's spell. It was a simple one. The Mists of Melotanin. Very handy for someone who doesn't want to waste his time fighting others.
"Now how to get you down," Lelouch ponders as his body comes back down to the ground. An idea springs to his mind once his feet land.
"I'll need this." Lelouch uses simple telekinesis to drag the mattress of the queen's throne towards himself. Once he has it set on the ground, he takes out his sling ring.
"Let's do this right."
Lelouch swirls his hand across the ring. The portal he opens underneath Nunnally takes some of the liquid with her. She lands on the mattress, dripping wet and unconscious. Only one of those is acceptable.
Lelouch uses a simple drying spell to cast away Nunnally's extra moisture. He then leans down, checking to see if his sister has any other injuries. She doesn't appear to have any, aside from a lack of consciousness. Something that she can work out herself.
"Let's get you back to the Sanctum. I can help you there. And explain everything."
Lelouch wasn't entirely looking forward to that last part. He would be happy to see and speak to his sister again, but he didn't know how it would resolve. He would have to tell her that he had been learning magic for a year while she and everyone else had to deal with his death.
And knowing Nunnally, she would want him to return to a life with her. She would want him to try and reconnect with those he left behind. Something he didn't know if he would be able to do. Not with his new responsibilities.
There was one possible exception. But he couldn't focus on that right now. His little sister needed his help.
Gently picking up his sister, Lelouch walked outside the door. With the help of his cloak, he began his way back to his current residence.
"Come on Nunnally. We should go before the queen comes by. She might want to talk to her staff about unauthorized naps?"
Lelouch's eyes widened. Was he turning into Strange?
"Are these uniforms truly necessary?"
Mordo frowned as he and his three new acquaintances dressed up in white prison uniforms. They were about to head inside the facility to meet with C.C.
"Hey, I don't like them either. But they will be the difference between us fighting our way in and sneaking our way in. I'd rather not fight if I don't have to."
Mordo sighed as he considered using his Sling Ring for a moment. He knew that using magic around non-sorcerers was forbidden, but it was tempting.
"In any case, we're here," Kallen said as the new truck pulled up to the prison. "Don't look suspicious."
Both Mordo and Kallen sat with their hands tied behind them. They had to wait for access to be granted to them before they could start walking inside. Neither one of them were thrilled with the arrangement, for differing reasons. Kallen still didn't know if Mordo and that Strange guy were trustworthy. The only reason she let them stick around was that she needed their help. And Mordo only stuck around because Strange had asked him to. Once this side mission was over, he would be able to return to the Sanctum.
For now, they would have to work together.
"Just a couple of insurgents. They're scheduled for execution tomorrow."
The guards had let them go down once they had heard that short explanation.
"He's on drugs. That's why his face doesn't show emotion."
Mordo took offense to that comment. He had spent time with Strange, an actual doctor, and he was almost certain that no such drug existed. He also didn't like being called a junkie. No matter how much Kallen chuckled at the comment.
Still, they made it inside without much issue. As far as Mordo understood, they just had to wait for Lloyd to get set up so they could head to the room that C.C had told them about.
All he had to do was be patient. The Ancient One had always told him to cherish that virtue. The Pyramids were not built in a day. Coal would not become a diamond in a week. A year alone would not be enough time to...
"It's time," Sayako's true voice said.
"Thank the Vishanti," Mordo exclaimed as he threw off his handcuffs. When the guards came by to take hold of him, he easily dispatched two of them. He grabbed and twisted the wrist of one, striking him down to the floor. The second guard was simply tripped and kicked while he was down. He was the Sanctums battle master for a reason.
And as a Battle Master, he had to appreciate the ferocity and skill with which Kallen Kozuki disposed of her adversaries. Three attacked her. All of them were defeated in seconds.
"Very impressive Ms. Kozuki."
"Not bad yourself, Karl," Kallen grinned. "So what now Sayako?"
The maid changed back into her normal attire. "Based on the plans C.C left for us, there is a secret passageway hidden further ahead. We just need to find it. Then we can head down."
"What about them?" Mordo asked, referring to the prisoners. "They have seen us. They may have heard our plans as we spoke."
"WE DID!"
"My point exactly."
Kallen grabbed the keys from one of the guards. She tossed it into the cell of a random prisoner.
"You can let yourselves out. Just don't tell anyone anything about us."
The entire prison block cheered. While Mordo shook his head, wondering how he got caught up in a prison break. Strange owed him for this one.
"In that case, we should get moving. I don't know how much longer Lloyd can keep the rest of the prison from noticing what's happened here."
"We'd best move quickly in that case," Mordo agreed. He didn't want to stay here any longer than strictly necessary.
The trio walked to the end of the hall, where they found an elevator that would lead them down. While in the elevator, the trio discussed their next step.
"We will have to wait for Miss C.C to return with Master Lelouch."
"That's if C.C. and Dr. Strange can find him," Kallen said unconvincingly.
"I have faith in my associate," Mordo said aloud. In his mind, he just hoped that Strange hadn't resorted to telling the real Lelouch what was happening. That would lead to a lot of complications. Complications they did not need to add on top of dealing with the Zealots.
As the three went further underground, they all hoped that their individual missions could end well.
"You've been growing up, haven't you Nunnally?"
Lelouch smiled as he carried his still unconscious sister towards the mansion. Having his phoenix cloak was useful, as it lets him levitate towards the Sanctum without much difficulty.
Giving him time to focus on his musings. He still had to figure out a way to explain to Nunnally everything that had happened in the last year. Explaining that magic was real and that he had been learning it would be simple enough. But having to explain his resurrection bought about by Eldrich deities and the existence of alternate realities might take a little longer. As well as explaining why he had to stay away for a year. She might not take that very well.
Still, he would have to explain all of it to her. And eventually, to the rest of his old friends as well. Most of them wouldn't be too happy to see him. Though some might.
And he had a partner he really needed to apologize for. He had promised her a smile, and he failed. He was forced to watch as she cared for an empty husk that resembled him. He didn't know if she would ever forgive him for that. Messing with her emotions like that.
Still, it was a problem he would have to deal with at a later time. He had other problems to deal with at the moment.
He stopped at the entrance of the Sanctum. Opening the door, he walked inside.
To be met with an old acquaintance.
A familiar green-haired girl was chewing on a piece of pizza. Her mouth stopped moving and her eyes widened when she saw him. The slice fell out of her hand.
"Lelouch?"
If the person in his arms hadn't been his sister, Lelouch likely would have dropped her. His face was one of anxiety.
"C.C?"
Their conversation was not about to be an easy one. And Lelouch really wanted to strangle Strange at this moment.
Within an abandoned temple, Kaecilius and his disciples dropped the body upon the large marking on the floor.
"Let your will be done," Kaecilius muttered as he and his Zealots began their chant. One of them opened a portal to the Dark Dimension itself.
"The body is prepared, my lord. We have captured it as you requested. Now, allow your dark energies to overtake it."
Dark tendrils shot out from the open portal. They were aimed at the stolen and empty body. They entered through the eyes, the nose, and the ears.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
The screams of the soulless body filled the abandoned temple. It bought joy and satisfaction to the Zealots. And behind the portal, an inhuman face grinned as well.
"Arise. Brother."
The once soulless body was no longer empty. It had something inside now.
The false Lelouch stood up, the purple of his irises sharper and brighter than it had previously been. And the mark of Dormammu burned onto its head.
Kaecilius faced the new being directly.
"Whom do you serve?"
The false Lelouch smiled.
"Our lord Dormammu."
Kaecilius matched the smile.
I'm back. I'm looking forward to finishing this story. I know it's been over a year, and I apologize. I also apologize because I said I wanted this chapter out by September, and that didn't happen.
Anyway, we now know what Dormammu wants with Lelouch's empty body. That will lead to some interesting results. Especially when he and the real Lelouch meet. And when he meets the other characters. That will be interesting.
Anyway, please leave reviews, tell me what you think, and I will see you all next time.
Bye!
