...
E-Rantel Adventurer's Guild
Inside the building, there was a decent amount of space, enough for people entering and exiting to move by and not collide against each other. If someone was to take their first step into the building, the first thing they would notice was the large floor mat they stepped on. It was a luscious red that would seduce any eye with the taste for luxury. But embodied upon it was a grey circle with a person in the middle holding a spear and wearing an iron helmet.
The Adventurer's Guild Crest.
To the left was three wooden benches lined up along the side of the wall. They were made out of rose wood, and polished to shine in the magical lights illuminating.
Hidden further behind the benches, it was hard to see but anyone who prided themselves in this line of work needed exceptional senses and would be able to see what it was. It was an interaction area. A clear glass table laid in the middle of three sofas. They were all plain in color, but it's wasn't there to be eye candy.
A little further behind the sofas, lined up against the back wall was three bar tables of a simple brown hue. It was obvious that these tables weren't for hosting a lot of members. Perhaps groups consisting of two or three members, but any more than that and they wouldn't be able to occupy them.
To the right side of the room, there wasn't much of anything noteworthy. There was a narrow hallway with a couple doors on each side, leading to what seemed to be rooms. But against the wall far back, was a starcase. It would have went unnoticed, but the stairs were placed in a way that lined up against the right wall and curved upwards to the floor above. Anyone who even glanced to the right would notice it, and only by following where it descended to is how they could learn where it started from.
In the very front of the main doors, there was a reception desk. It was made out of the same wood as the benches, but the color was fresh, appearing to be new and unfaded.
The two ladies there sat in their chairs and worked under the Adventurer's Guild. While the Guild was paid by the nation to provide their services, the overall organization wasn't nationalized. Adventurer's were in every country and the Guild was an international organization. Naturally, this meant that they couldn't get involved with politics or any decisions that decided the fate of the Nation the Guild resided in. And in return, the Nation couldn't tax, conscript, or stiff-hand the Guild as long as they abided by the laws.
Many pros and cons came along with this, but right now, the only con that mattered was the lack of work.
Ishpen Ronble was one of the receptionists working today, and as part of her job, she was tasked with helping to answer any questions that Adventurers or Clients would have. That was her main job. Otherwise she would sort paper, and that was pretty much it.
She let out a long sigh as she piled up the stack of papers to the right of her workspace.
Three.
That was the number of times she sorted throughout this pile of papers already. It was all documents consisting of Adventurer names, their groups, ranks and what quests they accepted and whether they passed or failed it. The Re-Estize Kingdom had a population of over 10 Million, the largest amongst all the human nations on the continent, and they had the most adventurers compared to the other nations, so the stack Ishpen finished sorting was definitely not a small one.
Free Time
She was contemplating on what to do. As a receptionist, it wasn't like she could just leave when she finished all her work. She had to sit throughout her entire work hours, only leaving for lunch and bathroom breaks. She was tempted to use a break right now to escape to impeding boredom, but if she did that then she wouldn't be able to take one if she really needed it later on.
The two times the Guild was the most lively was early in the morning, when Adventurer's would check in early in order to access the Quest Board. And the other was at the evening, when they would return to collect their rewards.
It was late morning. Meaning she would have a long time before anything new occurred.
She ultimately decided against taking a break now; it wasn't like this was her first day working. She wasn't going to die of boredom but she wasn't a newbie that needed to worry about how to proceed. There was just nothing to do.
Letting out a yawn, she looked at the her co-worker to see what she was doing.
Adventurer Records?
Her co-worker was reading the Adventurer Records, similar to what Ishpen was sorting out, but these weren't of Adventurer's, they were a detailed list of the Client's Requests.
That could be interesting...
Ishpen thought that she should do the same to kill time. She turned her chair around to face the bookshelf behind, looking for the next Volume of Records. Each book was carefully placed and lined up according to their dates, and were divided into three colors. Red books related to Adventurer's, Blue books represented the Clients, and the Yellow books were relating to the Guild Association, Internationally.
When she found what she was looking for, she was right about to grab it when the two doors opened, letting out a notification to her as the bells attached to the door rang.
Her head shot up to see who it was by instinct. Coming into the building was two individuals. One was a tall man in armor, and the other was a beautiful girl.
80 Points... She thought. This was a game she played. She would rate people to see who could pass for her lover on a scale of 100 points. A score of 60 points wouldn't be enough for her. Although 80 points was something she was willing to work with. The man before her would have gotten a higher score, as he was tall, and she assumed he was rich since he wore exquisite armor, and strong since he could wear it perfectly; however, she couldn't see his face. That alone deducted points, but those points were still pending, since she didn't know if he was ugly or not.
She was pretty sure he was handsome, it was her intuition that spoke to her. For him to be accompanied by such a beauty meant there was more to him than his strength. Money and Power could buy a women's heart, but the girl was too beautiful, enough to take any man, and Ishpen believed she could if she wanted to. Inside, she felt a little fire of jealousy.
She was by no means, ugly, she was even gorgeous in the Kingdom. But compared to the girl in front of her, she couldn't help but feel a inferior. The only person she could think of that rivaled this girl was the Golden Princess.
The two people stopped in the middle of the floor mat and looked around, observing and taking in everything that was there. When they continued forward and headed for Ishpen, she finally snapped out of her daydreams.
Clearing her voice, she began her usual greetings. "Hello and Welcome to the Adventurer's Guild. How may I help you?"
The man appeared to be the leader and spoke. "Umu... We're new to the city and would like to apply to become adventurers. Could you help us with that, or lead us to someone who can?" His voice resonated with nobility and had an air that made her want drop whatever she was doing to follow him.
"I can help you with that. It will only cost 5 silver coins to apply, so 10 silvers for the both of you." When she told them the price, she could see the slightest hesitation in the Girl's eyes.
"Is that going to be a problem?" She was certain it wouldn't be with the man's background, she only asked as a common courtesy. But-
"Actually it is." To her surprise, they couldn't even afford a small price of 10 silver coins.
"We're still new to this country and don't have the currency you use here. But we have items that we could trade for a value you name."
Normally in this scenario, Ainz would have been panicking and thinking How did I forget to bring MoNEy! But not this time. He had a secret ace that even the Guardians didn't know about.
"I'm sorry, if you want to trade items then you'd have to go to the Merchant's guild. But if you have currency from the Empire or another country, then we can accept that" In her mind, she was thinking that this person was from a nearby country. While the Baharuth Empire and the Re-Estize Kingdom weren't on friendly terms, they still used the same currency system.
"Unfortunately we do not have that either." When the man said this, her eyes widened. She racked her brain to figure out all the holes in his story.
He doesn't have money? Then how could he afford his armor then? And why would the girl accompany him if he was broke? If he needed money he could just sell it and be-
Interrupting her thoughts, she recalled what he said earlier. 'we have items that we could trade for a value you name'
He has items of value, and enough to the point where he's willing to trade it. That only could mean one thing...
He's a foreigner. Someone from a far away country.
As she came to the conclusion, she regretted giving the advice of the Merchant's Guild. While the Merchant's Guild would be in charge of trading, they only allowed members and citizens access to it. Foreigners wouldn't be able to trade their items without a taxing fee. And since he's broke, there's no way he could afford that.
Ishpen knew about the greedy people in the Kingdom and the corruption of the Underworld. While she was no saint and wouldn't help every person that needed saving, she certainly wouldn't send someone to their demise. If these foreigner's did go to the Merchant's Guild, they would only take advantage of their wealth and rob every coin from them.
When the two people were turning around to leave, she reached out to them and shouted. "We usually would have you go to the Merchant's Guild to trade items, but if you're new to the Kingdom, then I can pay for the fee."
What!? Why would she pay for the application fee? She just said to go the Merchant's Guild and now she wants to pay for us? Is she one of those greedy bastards, trying to get us into her debt? Well I won't take it! Ainz thought.
"There is no need to do that, trading our items at the Merchant's Guild won't be a problem."
Haha! How will you respond now, lady?
She didn't speak for a while, instead, she looked around to make sure the other receptionist couldn't hear her and leaned closer, whispering so only the two of them could hear what she was about to say.
"You're not from around here are you? I mean, you're not from here..."
When he heard this, his nonexistent heart started to thump harder. Does she know about YGGDRASIL? I made sure to conceal everything! Was it those guards? Did they really suspect us?
Amidst his panic, she continued to whisper to them. "...If you go to the merchant's Guild they will only take advantage of you since your're foreigners. The underworld of the Kingdom runs deep."
Ainz's could relaxed now. She's just being nice, haaaaah. Is this what [Grasp Heart] feels like on an undead? Well, I guess I should take her offer, but I don't want to be in her debt. And what if this is some trick and the Underworld corrupted the Adventurer's Guild too?
"Fine. I will accept your kindness. But, I will pay you back the moment we earn enough money."
She simply smiled at them, and reached to the corner of the counter for a two fresh sheets of Sheepskin Parchment to write on. "The application process will take some writing to do. Would you like to write, or would you like me to write for you for an additional 5 copper coins each?"
"Please write for us."
She wasn't surprised by this. Most people in the Kingdom were illiterate, less than half of the Kingdom could actually read and write. So of course foreigner's wouldn't be able to understand their literacy immidiatley.
"Then can you tell me your names first?"
"Momon"
"Nabe"
They answered in that order respectively. Ishpen wrote down their names, switching between the two parchments. She then pulled out a third parchment sheet and searched the list of names for any of their given names.
Adventurer's couldn't be convicts or criminals, so it was natural to do a back ground check and see if they were recorded on any wanted lists. She didn't really think two foreigners would be on it, but she did it anyways to kill time, and because the routine drilled into her called for it.
Even if they weren't foreigner's, the background check wouldn't really do much. People could apply with an alias or a fake name, making checking the list nothing more than a policy action.
Ishpen continued to ask for important information such as their origin, where their former Kingdom was, age, gender, height, weight, hair color, eye color, etc. While Momon was only thinking one thing.
Damn. I really did ask Pandora's Actor to melt some coins into Gold Bars for nothing...
When they were towards the end of applying, Ishpen asked "Would you like to receive training after this?"
Momon tilted his head in confusion and said "Training? Do all Adventurer's have to pass this to become one?"
Ishpen couldn't see his face, but could picture his confused look. I should probably explain what is is, huh. She rested her arm on the table and supported her head with it before she began to explain.
"Training is basically an explanation to what you adventurer's do and how it works. Becoming one can be very dangerous, so we offer to give proper explanations about the description of what you will be doing and what potential dangers you could come across so that people can't complain about deaths to the Guild."
The Guild received a lot of complaints from families and the citizens when they were first founded, because many people wanted to be an adventurers without knowing the risks. Of course, the risks were part of common sense, but since the population couldn't understand that, and the Guild was still new, the Adventurer's Guild responded to the citizen's complaints and began giving descriptions of the dangers and details of the job.
Training wasn't mandatory, but if people decided to to undergo it, they would be the ones to blame if anything happened to them for being careless.
Momon and Nabe's goal was to gain information, so if training could give them more insight to the strength of this world, he would gladly take it.
"Then yes, we would like to receive this training. Will you be testing out skills to see our strengths and weaknesses?
"No, the purpose of training isn't to gauge your skillset and skill level. If you go out adventuring while lacking ability, then the risk is entirely on you."
When Momon and Nabe nodded in agreement, Ishpen asked if they wanted to go to another room. She didn't need to, but she wanted a change of scenery.
Momon accepted this offer and in her head, she gave him an extra 10 points for noticing her mood and intentions.
But his thoughts were completely different. He didn't even notice her desire to move around. All he wanted was to look at the structure more to find any weak spots or secrets they could look into - secret rooms, documents, etc.
They followed Ishpen as she led them into the hallway. The hallway was made of nice wood, clean and smooth, but with the function as it's priority. Ishpen stopped at the end of the hall and fiddled with a couple keys connected on a ring.
She let them into the room right before the staircase, and entered after Momon and Nabe did. The conference room was bare with a small table and a sofa and some chairs around it. The rooms on the first floor were used for inquiring more about requests made, so there wasn't any need for it to be special.
Once the door closed, Ishpen sat in the chair, while Momon and Nabe sat on the sofa across of her.
"Lets begin with what adventurer's do."
She took in a deep breath, and shot out her words and an alarmingly fast pace.
"Adventurers are people who take on different jobs and requests that are run through the Guild. The Adventurer's Guild acts like a broker that connects the requests for you to choose from and the clients who requested it. The quests that you will take on require you to do what the person who submitted the request asks of you to do and you'll get paid accordingly to the price listed on the quest board upon completion. Of course, since you are the ones taking on the job, you will be able to choose what quests to do and which ones to decline. However, because everything is run through the Guild, there are certain quests that can only be done by certain adventurer's due to their rank, and some commissioners even request a specific adventurer or adventuring group."
"Because of this, adventurer's don't normally decline specifically requested tasks. They serve as a way to build up their reputation and climb through the ranks, as well as get an increased pay. In order for an adventurer to be specifically asked for, the commissioner has to pay an extra amount of money that goes to the requested people. Adventurer's are their own bosses and choose when and when not to work, so their schedules can be very busy or the complete opposite."
"Requests that you will be expected to take on can be of a variety of tasks. Tasks can range from being a porter and carrying around the luggage of a traveler, to being hired directly by the Kingdom to subjugate an impeding dangerous threat. Sometimes you will face monsters like goblins, ogres, and other demihumans, but you may also encounter more dangerous threats like vampires, werewolves, and witches. However, the Kingdom cannot hire you to fight in wars or battles, as Adventurer's aren't mercenaries for hire and the Adventurer's Guild is and International Organization that isn't integrated into the Kingdom. There is a moral code we follow and if you break it, then you'll be relieved from your duties."
"Each quest you take on will require different skillsets and equipment. So it is up to you to prepare before hand to buy the proper weapons, armor, gear, and ensuring everyone has the necessary preparations."
Momon was taken back at the speed which she spoke, even missing some of the information. But he was able to understand the gist of it.
Ishpen had explained this many times before and was even used to seeing people's faces cripple from confusion. When she first was hired, she had to constantly look at the parchment to see if she spoke correctly, but not anymore. After many hours of saying the same monologue, she memorized it like the back of her hand. She even started to mess around with new adventurers to see how fast she could explain things. Ishpen often found comfort and amused over them not being able to keep up with her. But not these two. Momon sat didn't budge an inch, and Nabe looked the same as ever.
Okay, let's see if you could keep up. Ishpen thought. "Did you understand everything so far?"
"Basically, we're a customer service group that does what our clients want from us."
She furrowed her brows in shock because of the way Momon put it, but when she thought about it, he was right.
"Then that concludes the part about what you will be doing as adventurers. For the next part, I'll explain how the finance works." She waited to see Momon and Nabe nod before speaking.
Did you really think that was the fastest I could go? She didn't let her face reveal her inner thoughts.
"As I said earlier, the Guild acts as the broker between the clients and the adventurer's. But the payment made by clients don't all go to the person who takes on the quests. The Guild will take 20% of the payment and do a conclusive investigation of the request made to insure it isn't a trap or trick, and has all the correct details about the quest. The Guild will take note about monsters you will be expected to come across as well as how many they are and their strength. If there is a discrepancy with the scouted information, then a portion will paid to the group as a form of compensation. However, there is always a chance that new monsters will show up, or monsters will leave, between the time of the investigation and the time the quest is in progress so most of the time there won't be any."
"In the case where the Guild cannot do an investigation, the Guild will take 5% of the payment and only tell the adventurers what they know about the nature of the request and why they weren't able to investigate it, while the rest of the payment goes to the adventurers. Requests made for a specific person or group cost an additional 10% for the client and that percentage goes directly to the Adventurer when the quest is completed."
"There are also requests that are made outside of the Guild. In those cases, the adventurer's can report it later on after they finish it and the Guild will investigate the area it took place to check the validity of the foretold feature. When quests are taken outside of the Guild, the Guild won't take any portion of the payment, but they won't do an investigation either."
"In the event where you fail to complete a quest, you will be charged with 150% of the payment if there was a downpayment made. If not, then you will have to pay back 120% of the payment made to the Guild. The money paid by the client will be refunded, and the extra 20% will be used to accommodate higher ranking adventurer's. The fine is a punishment for the time lost and value the client lost."
"I recommend you don't fail, because if you fail 3 quests within a season, you will be suspended for the rest of the season and prohibited from taking on another quest till your suspension ends. If you are suspended for two seasons in a row, then your will expelled from the Adventurer's Guild and unable to return. Since the Guild investigates the quests, the failure rate is quite low as long as you make the necessary preparations. But that doesn't mean it will be easy to complete. All it means is that as long as you apply the information gained properly, then you should't worry about failure."
"That concludes the session about finances. Did you understand everything?"
"Yes." Ishpen was stunned. She was almost out of breathe and sure she spoke faster than she did before. She tried to read Momon's body language to see if he was actually following along, but she couldn't get anything with his face covered. Her next best thing to read was Nabe. But Nabe didn't react in any way and still held her stoic posture.
"Then I'll begin the explanation about ranks."
She took a couple seconds to regain her breathe.
This time, I'll get them for sure.
"Adventurer's can take on quests based on their rank. The higher rank you are then the more quests become available to you. As such, in order to rank up, you will have to take a promotional test in order for the Guild to assess your skill level. Unlike the regular quests, promotional tests are requested by the Guild and done in a manner where the environment is observed. So even if you do fail, there won't be any repercussions like fees or a suspension. However, if you pass, then you will move up one rank."
"There are eights ranks an Adventurer can become. Starting from the lowest, the Ranks are Copper, Iron, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Mithril, Orichalcum, and Adamantite. As your climb through the ranks, the payment you receive increases, and naturally, the danger too. A difficulty rating can also be called a battle rating. It is a number given to a monster or label used to gauge the power of something. The number 0 represents no threat and the higher the number is, the more dangerous it is. There isn't a limit to how high the number can be."
"Each quest is given a difficulty rating. As such, ratings above a certain number cannot be taken by ranks below the permitted level to take that quest. Copper ranks can take quests rated with a difficulty 1 to 10. Iron can take quests rated 11 to 20. Silver is difficulty 21 to 30. Gold ranked are 31 to 40. Platinum is 41 to 50. Mithril is 51 to 60. Orichalcum is 61 to 70. And Adamantite ranked adventurers can take quests rated above 70. Any rank can take quests below their rank, but the rewards earned decreases along the danger."
"Did you understand everything?"
"mmm." Momon leaned over the whisper something in Nabe's ear, but Ishpen couldn't hear it. But she saw Nabe's face finally change. It was subtle and she reverted her face back to normal, but for someone observant like Ishpen, she could see the quick smile she flashed.
"What rank would the Knights of the Baharuth Empire be?"
What? Ishpen's eyes widened. What did the Empire's knights have to do with her explanation? She tried to rack her brains but couldn't find anything.
"Well, that depends. The knights of the Empire are all professionally trained and are awarded based on their merit and skill. But they are only knights. An Adventuring party consists of more than one class. While a group of 4 knights would be a strong foe, they would only excel in one aspect and struggle in another. While an Adventurer party is created to cover multiple areas and a broad sense of objectives."
"In a basic party, there will be a Warrior, Magic Caster, Ranger, and Druid or Priest. This group of 4 won't all excel in one aspect, but because of the range that they are exceptional in, they can make up for the weaknesses provided by other members. While a Magic Caster isn't fit to fight head on, the warrior can fend off oncoming threats while the caster uses spells to support the battle. And the cleric or priest can heal the warrior so he won't die, while a ranger supports from behind and watches for any surprise attacks."
"If a group of Knights were to fight an Adventurer's group of equal skill, the knights would be defeated in an overwhelming fashion."
"In the end, do you know what their rank would be?"
Eh? I thought I dodged that question pretty well... I guess he won't let it go. She tried to suppress her annoyance. It wasn't because Momon asked a question that caught her off guard, but it was because she didn't have an accurate and immediate response - she felt annoyed at herself.
"They would probably be ranked silver. Exceptional knights that rise throughout the ranks would be gold."
"What about the Warrior Captain, Gazef Stronoff?"
She had to think about it before answering. She knew Gazef was hailed as the strongest warrior, but she had never seen him fight. All she had to go off of was the rumors and stories. And as she worked with adventurers, she knew all to well how those tales get exaggerated more than necessary.
"Adamantite." She came to the conclusion that Gazef would be this rank, and if not, how could he garner such a reputation.
She was trying to think of reasons why he would have asked about these two things. And the only thing she could come up with was the rumors about the Empire knights killing the frontier villages. She knew the commotion that was caused when Gazef came to E-Rantel to restock before departing so she knew he was involved with that problem.
Ishpen decided that Momon heard those rumors and was using it to gauge the rank system. But what he asked next had her completely stunned.
"And what about the Slane Theocracy Knights?"
"Huh?" She couldn't suppress her shock this time.
"The knights of the Slane Theocracy, what rank would they be?"
I know what you said! But how does that fit in with the Frontier Villages? Unless, are you just messing with me? Did he see through my intentions? Ishpen was shocked if he could figure out her personal game. She made sure to hide her intentions.
"Hmmm, the Slane Theocracy is the strongest nation, so their knights should be stronger than the Empire's. I'd say they're Gold or Platinum ranked."
She waited a while to see if Momon would ask another spontaneous group. Perhaps the paladins next? Dragon Lords? She joked to herself.
Momon was actually going to ask about the Sunlight Scripture, but he knew that they were a black-ops group, so nobody would know about them. And decided against asking her.
"If that's all then we'll move on to the next topic. Difficulty."
Ishpen took in a long, deep breath. She wore a grin as she was about to talk as fast as she could.
I'll get you back for messing with me
"When a quest is investigated, the Guild gives it a difficulty rating that will correspond with the ranks that are able to take on that quest. Naturally, the higher the rating, the more difficult it is. But that also means the rewards and payment you'll receive is greater. The way the Guild rates a quest can be considered an average. The Guild has a compilation of all the quests submitted and looks at all the previous quests with a similar task. The Guild will then decide on a rating by using the past groups that took on those quests, how difficult the quest was rated, monsters that were encountered, and how much reparations were made."
"For hunting and scouting quests, the difficulty is determined by the location, rarity of the item or target, possible monsters you may encounter, and outside factors like the time frame of the quest or how long the hunting season will last for and changes the target may make. Quests like these are accurate in their ratings, but tend to sway more often than other types of requests. That's due to the task being more affected by third parties and outside forces."
"Subjugation quests are the most accurate when it comes the the ratings. The difficulty given is based off of the difficulty rating the Guild has on the type of monster you will have to encounter and how many there are. It's important to remember that the Guild's rating is an average of the type of monster encountered before. Keep this in mind, as not all the monsters you encounter will be the same rating. Some will be stronger or weaker than the Guild's recommended Rating.
"For example, a Vampire has a stronger body and keener senses than a human, not to mention if it's able to use magic or is proficient in a specific field. Most of the vampires that have been recorded tend to use their claws and the blood of their prey makes their superhuman bodies even stronger. The Guild gives the average Vampire a rating of 58 with no additional notes of magic or sword skills, making it a monster Mithril ranked adventurers have to be wary about to defeat. But that's only in it's prime state. If a Vampire powered up with blood, then the rating could easily increase to 63, and if said vampire was a magic caster, then the difficulty rating would scale with the tier of magic it could use and how much mana it has."
"Always leave room of a plus/minus 5 rating. If the Guild rates a monster at 30, then plan to face monsters rating 25 to 35 so that you aren't caught by surprise. Do you understand everything?"
"Yes."
It looks like I've found myself some fun rivals... Ishpen had to wait a while to steady herself and catch her breath.
"Then that will mark the end of this training session. Congratulations Momon and Nabe, you are now active Adventurers." Ishpen stood up and walked to shake their hands. When she shook Momon's hand, she didn't think much about it, but when she touched Nabe's skin, she could feel how smooth and perfect it was. It was fair and soft. As Nabe's hand was up, her mantle left an opening where her gaze shifted to. Ishpen could see what was strapped to the side of her hip and other than when she gulped, she hid her thoughts behind her saint-like face.
A sword? I thought she was a magic caster...
Momon and Nabe were starting to head for the door when Isphen called out to them.
"Oh! Before I forget, you guys will have to come back tomorrow to collect your adventurer tags. Without them you can't accept any quests. Based on the rank of your tag, look for the list of quests you can accept. If you cannot read and require assistance, then it'll cost one copper for every ten minutes to have an employee help you."
"Thank you..." Momon said, and was turning to leave, but there was a slight hesitation. "...Umu, we don't have a place to stay, do you have any recommendations?"
Ishpen didn't have to think much. Many newbies needed a place to stay, so she always suggested the same place. "There's an inn called The Wood Plank. You can go there, if I remember correctly it was a couple coppers per night." She wrote some letters on a spare parchment sheet in her pocket and pulled out a two silver pieces to hand to Momon. She explained the basic directions to the inn and said to look for the sign with the letters she wrote.
He didn't say anything. He silently stuck his hand out and took the two coins. Although, he was confused as the why she was helping them out so much.
Ishpen followed them out of the room and watched their backs retreated into the sun as they left through the main doors.
"...so that's my new foes..." she muttered to herself softly.
"Huh? Ishpen, did you say something?" Asked the other receptionist working.
"No, nothing at all."
She went back to sitting on her seat, doing nothing, similar to how she was before she met those two mysterious foreigners. But was thinking about the future battles she'll wage with her rivals.
I'll definitely win next time...
