Chapter 7: Snow's Speech
The crowd was still going crazy over our costumes when we arrived at the end of the road. President Snow was now in front of us on a high balcony. « We Welcome you Tributes. To the Capitol! Maybe your visit was planned or the odds were in your favour.» As he says that last sentence he looks at me. Maybe I had done something wrong that got me here. I didn't do anything they don't choose who comes here, but his eyes made me think otherwise. « I hope, even if this trip is short, that you will enjoy your stay among us. And may the love we give you stay in your heart, to stand strong with the Capitol of Panem. As long as the games live the peace will live. Thank you, And may the odds be ever in your favour!» His speech was all about order and power, I think I couldn't expect more from a Man that Katniss says: has killed children for decades. The carriages headed back in the building where we were before the parade started. Once we got out of the carriages we were redirected in the tributes building. I pressed the number 12 and the elevator started moving. There was only Effie me and Peeta in the elevator. « Ok, so today you have the day off. But promise me that you will come to see the replay of the reapings, just to know who are the tributes.» Says Effie excited. «Yes.» Says Peeta. We came in the apartments to see a big buffet for lunch. We eat a little bit since Effie orders it, but I'm still nervous to see the scary tributes that will kill me. The airing starts, and I can't stand the reapings of districts one two and four. All of these districts had volunteers that seem all so strong. There was also that boy from eleven that seemed so strong. There was Rue that I had seen at the tributes parade, her family and the district seemed so mad and silent so was mine. The only thing I can think of now is that anyone could kill me and that I don't know if I'm going to live much longer at this point.
