Traveling Through Time

Chapter 9

"Well, Hermione. I'm surprised to see that you're eating." Noah said from her left

Luca Hermione Noah

Gabriel Lucius Elijah

"And why's that?" Hermione asked as she took another delicious bite of pancakes

"Most girls here don't eat at all. Or at least not in front of people." Luca said from her right as he as well seemed surprised

"What can I say? I love food. Especially after what I went through with my friends. We were on the run from certain people and were stuck on food shortages and didn't have money with us to buy things. We were left with only spare supplies. One of my friends left us halfway through and while it did give my other friend and I more food, it left us broken not knowing where he went or what was happening." Hermione said as she downcast her eyes as she thought of everything that had happened.

"I-I...umm...I'm sorry you had to go through that." Noah said. He was pretty sure he knew who she meant, but he didn't want to believe it. How could this girl right here be related to Death Eater attacks. He was sure he'd never seen her around Hogwarts before so for her to know all of her magic he assumed she was taught somewhere else like Beauxbatons.

"It's whatever. It shaped me and my friend into what we are now." Hermione explained

"Say, Hermione?" Lucius asked

"Hm?" She asked through a mouthful of pancakes

"What was the deal with your friend this morning?" Lucius asked. Hermione saw Gabriel move a little, heard a thud, and then heard Lucius grunt and then stop himself from leaning down so she assumed Gabriel kicked his shin.

"Maybe I'll tell you if I learn to trust you or some things change." Hermione said. She was implying his Death Eater status in the future and she had an idea that he was one now, but she wasn't sure. The way he lightly lost some color to his face told her that he was thinking about what she assumed and led her to know that she was somewhat correct. Lucius Malfoy was a Death Eater after his Hogwarts days so he wasn't one yet, but he was in line to be "coronated".

"And what would those be?" He asked, trying to play it cool.

"How you're always chasing after skirts and trying to get a new knot on your bed posts. There's another thing too, but you can't fix that." She said as she looked up to him with a knowing look and all of the men around her suddenly stilled and went into overdrive.

"Well, umm I would say that it's about time for our classes so we'll see you later." Noah said

"Puecy, I'm aware when I'm not wanted. It's a Saturday so you have no classes. Feel free to actually man up next time and tell me even if I will probably already know myself." Hermione said as she finished the last bite of her breakfast and Noah sat down. "I might see you later. Have a good day." Hermione said as she stood up and left the hall to head back to the infirmary

"Ginny? Ginny!" Hermione called the moment she entered the infirmary, but Ginny wasn't there. Walking over to Ginny's bed, Hermione saw a note and looked at it, It was from Ginny to Madam Pomfrey telling her they were down in the Great Hall if she needed them.

Dear Madam Pomfrey,

Hermione and I are down in the Great Hall for breakfast this morning with both of us with a group. It is in my recent memories that she is with the well known Slytherins: Lucius Malfoy, Gabriel Zabini, Luca Nott, Noah Puecy, and Elijah Flint. If needed, you shall find me with the Marauders. Hope this finds you well and you did not wish for us to be gone.

Sincerely,

Ginny

"Should I apologize to Ginny?"Hermione thought to herself. She realized that she had been a bit harsh on her friend even if she had started everything. Merlin did she know about the temptations of all of the choices in this era, but she knew better than to mess with someone or something that could lead to a bad change in the future for the war. She didn't want more people to join the dark side while she was here and she was planning on trying to bring those who had gone that way back. Even if she could convince some of them to change their minds and join the lightside, even if she didn't fully trust Dumbledore herself, that it would make for a better side of things. She wasn't sure if she could change their minds or not, but by Merlin's beard if she had to sleep with them to get them to change she would do so in a heartbeat even if it wasn't the most logical thing.

_Gryffindor_

"Hey, Pads."

"Morning, Mooney." Sirius said as he and Ginny sat down at the Gryffindor table that morning

"How'd you sleep?" Remus asked

"Like a baby." Sirius responded

"You should've seen how bad his hair was." Ginny said as she giggled. Sirius just shot her a glare

"It wasn't that bad." Sirius grumbled

"Right. Because it totally wasn't sticking up everywhere. You should've seen it! It was worse than Potters!" Ginny said laughing

"What was worse than Potters?" came a voice from behind Remus. They turned around and saw James

"Sirius' hair this morning." Ginny said with a small giggle at the memory.

"Someone must've slept good then." James said suggestively with a wink to Sirius

"Oh knock it off." Sirius said as he tossed a piece of toast at James, who caught it and put honey on it.

"I don't know. I find it a little amusing." Remus said

"And what would that be?" Sirius asked.

"Sirius Orion Black, notorious bachelor and playboy suddenly sleeping with the same girl for more than one night and not even leaving her side when she's asleep." Remus said and he gave a small smirk when he saw Ginny go slightly red.

"It wasn't like that." Sirius said

"It wasn't like what? I merely meant eyes closed sleeping. Did you have something else in mind, Pads?" Remus asked suggestively with a smirk.

"You howling fool." Sirius said as he gave a low growl to Remus hoping Ginny didn't hear, but sitting so close to him, she did.

"Sirius?" Ginny asked

"Yeah, Little Red?"

"Did you just growl?" Ginny asked

"What?" Sirius asked

"Just now. Did you just growl at Remus?" Ginny asked, hoping he would soon tell her his secret even if she already knew it

"N-no. How would one growl?" Sirius asked, trying to play it off. Remus simply smirked at his friend. He knew that this little redhead wasn't going to let him off the hook easily.

"Say, Ginny." James asked

"Yeah?"

"Isn't that Hermione?" James asked

"Where?" Ginny asked a little frantically. She really needed to apologize to her brunette friend.

"Over there at the Slytherin table." James said with a nod of his head. Ginny and Sirius turned around and sure enough, there was Hermione, right in between Luca Nott and Noah Puecy,

"Why on earth would she be over there?" Remus asked. "Isn't she your friend?"

"I-I...I made a mistake of yelling at her this morning and blaming something huge on her when I shouldn't have and she was the only reason we were still alive. She left and I had no idea where she was going since she was with them, but I guess I know now."Ginny said as she lowered her head and turned back around to face the table

"It doesn't look like they're comfortable anymore." Remus mentioned as he continued to watch them.

"What do you mean?" Ginny asked as she looked up at the sandy haired man in front of her

"She said something and by the looks of it, they are uncomfortable with what she said." Remus said. "It looks like Puecy went to get up and she stopped him and now there she goes." James looked up and Ginny and Sirius turned around and saw that Hermione was leaving the Great Hall.

"What do you think happened?" Ginny asked

"I have a few guesses, but none that you should worry about." Remus said. In fact, he had more than just guesses. He had heard the whole conversation and knew it wasn't a good one depending on their looks.

"Well, I better go check up on her and apologize. Come get me later to hang, yeah?" Ginny said as she got up and left the Great Hall in search of her friend. She finally caught her around the doors of the infirmary. Leaving it to be precise

"Hermione!" Ginny called and her friend, at least she still hoped, turned to her and looked relieved.

"Ginny!" The two girls hugged and Ginny pulled away after a few beats and began frantically trying to apologize

"Hermione, I'm so sorry for what I said! You didn't deserve any of it and I wouldn't even be alive right now if it wasn't for you! I don't know what came over me and it was all a big mistake! I didn't mean any of it. I was just frustrated with the whole situation and I was trying to find a way to let it out, but I don't know why I did what i did because it was stupid. Hermione please forgive me!" Ginny rambled. When she was finished she realized Hermione didn't try to stop her rambling at all.

"Thank you for the apology Ginny. It was very welcomed. I however have some news to tell you if you're done with your non needed apology." Hermione said

"Wait, so am I forgiven?" Ginny asked

"You're forgiven, Gin." Hermione said

"Awesome! Now what is it you have to tell me?" Ginny asked

"The Slytherins. I don't know if they've been coronated yet, but I have a feeling it will be soon. I don't know what I should do. The only way you can get a man to change his mind around here is to give it to him and I'm not about to become a school wide slut just to keep all the Death Eaters from joining Voldemort. With the high price of going against him, not even the best shag of their life would be worth it." Hermione said

"What if you try to get closer to them. No one said you had to do them. Get close to them and see which ones like you the most and how jealous they are of someone else if you don't give them attention. You could create a riff between them and make them dependent on you being around!" Ginny called out

"Who is being dependent on you being around?" Came a voice. Ginny and Hermione locked eyes before turning their heads to the left and looking at the owner of the voice. It was Sirius Black with the rest of the Marauders.

"How much of that did you hear?" Ginny asked

"Just the last bit." Sirius said with a shrug. "But Hermione. If you wanted Prongs here all you had to do was come tell him. He can't deny a beautiful face like yours. You're right up his alley! Smart, cute, feisty. I feel like you two will come along nicely." Sirius said with a smirk. Hermione and Ginny caught eyes and each girl could tell the other had something to share.

"And what gave you that notion, Black?" Hermione teased, but she didn't miss the way that James' shoulders sagged a little at her words.

"Just the fact that you two make googly eyes at each other all the time. Like seriously, for Merlin sake get together already and make everyone's lives easier!" Sirius said

"How exactly would that make everyone's life easier?" Hermione questioned. Remus was behind the two boys snickering his head off trying to hold in a laugh.

"We wouldn't have to watch you two flirt and wait for you guys to get together anymore!" Sirius explained

"You're waiting for us to get together?" Hermione asked questionably

"Of course we are! Other than Lily Evans you are the only person to hold his attention!" Sirius chimed

"Lily Evans?" Hermione asked. She knew very well who this person was, but she wanted to know what she meant to James at this point in time they were currently in

"Yeah. Head Girl and the woman ole Prongs has been after since first year." Sirius said. Remus was standing behind the main two Marauders and was shaking his head with it resting in his hand. James looked upset and murderous to Sirius, but the Black heir had no idea the trouble he just caused for his friend

"Lily Evans is the one girl we've heard about around the castle, Midnight. The one that is a muggleborn and answers every single question asked." Ginny said to Hermione to keep up appearances with the guys.

"Oh. That girl." Hermione said as if just remembering her

"Yep. That's the girl Progsy here has a crush on." Sirius said. James finally shrugged off Sirius' arm and glared at his friend.

"Used to have a crush on her. Used being the key word. Let's not forget how many times she's turned me down and taken her rejections way too far. We're in the same house and she tried to take my Head bage away from me. Who does that?!" James asked incredulously

"Right. Used to." Sirius said with a wink to James that he thought no one else could see

"Pads, how is telling Hermione about the people that James had a crush on going to help her want to be with him at all?" Remus finally asked.

"Oh. Didn't really think about that to be honest." Sirius said

"Yeah, we know." James ground out to his pall.

"Well anyway, what ya say Hermione? Will you go out with him?" Sirius asked

"Are you seriously asking me out for your friend?" Hermione asked with an eyebrow raised at the Marauder.

"Yes. Is that wrong?" Sirius asked.

"Incredibly." Hermione said before turning on her heel and walking to her room at the far backside of the Hospital Wing. James watched her go and when the wall closed behind her, he turned around and smacked Sirius upside the head.

"Ow! What was that for?!" Sirius asked as he rubbed the spot where James hit him.

"How would you like it if I told sweet little Ginny over there about all of your flings? Unlike you, I've only been after one person. You've almost done the whole school. Not excluding Slytherins." James said before walking out of the Infirmary. Sirius watched Remus look behind him, go pale, and then high tail it after their friend. Turning around Sirius wished he had gone with them. Standing behind him was a fuming Ginny.
