Nate: Geez. It's about time you updated this story.

Ash: Yeah, what took you so long?

Marcus: Sorry. A lot has happened. 1. I was busy trying to meet a deadline for the release of my recent YouTube feature-length film.

Nate: Oh, that film was that Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS story you did on Fanfiction a while ago, right?

Marcus: That's the one.

Ash: Awesome! How did THAT turn out?

Marcus: Amazing!

Nate: Great to hear that.

Marcus: Thank you. Anyway, 2. I was busy with college work and all that.

Ash: Really?

Marcus: Yeah. Painting, Life Drawing, Animation, all that kept me pretty busy.

Nate: Woof. That's a lot.

Ash: No kidding.

Marcus: Yeah. And 3, I was dealing with a tough loss.

Ash: What happened?

Marcus: My grandfather died at least a month ago.

Nate: How awful!

Ash: He didn't die of COVID, did he?

Marcus: DragonbladeB5 asked that same question. He caught it, and was able to recover from it, but didn't have long after that.

Nate: Aw, that's real sad.

Ash: You have our condolences, man.

Marcus: Thanks.

Nate: Speaking of COVID, apparently there's going to be a vaccine available in April 2021.

Marcus: Is that for real?

Ash: Maybe.

Marcus: I don't know where DragonbladeB5 heard that, but we can't be too certain if that's true, considering the possible side effects a vaccine has. That's one of the reasons why my sister stays away from them.

Nate: Wise girl.

Marcus: Yeah. (looks at more of previous reviews) boy, you sure are full of original Yo-Kai ideas, aren't you, DragonbladeB5?

Ash: He sure is.

Marcus: No kidding.

Nate: Oh boy. And more questions about the beauty level of female Yo-Kai Watch characters and why.

Marcus: Ok, I think if I answer those questions, they'll be pretty obvious.

Ash: Yeah, most likely. We all know who boys react to questions like those.

Marcus: Yeah. And some girls may not like those answers and get upset. And we don't want anybody to get upset.

Nate: Good call. Anyway, these next couple questions are from Kagayaki-sama. Will Serena make an appearance in this story?

Ash: Serena? Oh, yeah, I kinda would like to see her again.

Nate: Also, will any other characters from Pokemon appear in this story?

Ash: Does that include my rivals, former companions and the Alola gang?

Nate: Yep.

Ash: Whoa, that's a lot. So, what do you think, Marcus?

Marcus: Those are GREAT questions! Doing this whole love rival thing kinda would spice things up a little bit. It is interesting to explore. But since this is a crossover between Pokemon and Yo-Kai Watch, there's something important to consider. If I'm gonna do the love rival thing with Misty, I gotta do that with Katie too. And I don't think Katie has any rivals for Nate's affections, does she?

Nate: (hangs his head sheepishly) No….because to everyone I'm just….average.

Marcus: *sigh* They don't know…

Ash: Ouch. And what about the other question?

Marcus: It would be pretty cool to include some other Pokemon characters in this story. My only fear about that is that would really tip the balance of the crossover.

Nate: I get it. Overload of characters on one side would be a bit too much. Then it would hardly sound like a crossover at all.

Marcus: Exactly.

Ash: Well, I guess it would be best to take it a day at a time then, huh?

Marcus: At this point, yes. Anyway, let's begin the new chapter.

On the North side of Breezy Hills…

"Hey Eddie." A fat tan-skinned boy with pointed hair with a white plaster on his face called out. He was wearing a blue varsity jacket with white sleeves, a white shirt, brown shorts and white sneakers. His name was Barnaby Bernstein, but his friends, Nate and Katie included, call him "Bear." He was running to meet up with a boy nearby. This boy was shorter than both Bear and Nate, with "sleepy" eyes, high eyebrows and brown hair. He wore a green jacket with orange patches on the sides of the sleeves, a white shirt, a blue undershirt, blue capris, blue shoes with white rims, and had orange headphones on his head. His name was Eddie Archer, and he was a friend of Nate, Katie, and Bear's.

"Hey Bear." Eddie greeted as he turned to see his friend coming his way. "What's up?"

"I haven't seen Nate and Katie around lately." Bear explained. "Have you?"

"Oddly enough, no." Eddie shook his head.

"It's not like them to ditch their friends like that." Bear noted. "What are they hiding?"

"Hmmmm…." Eddie pondered. "You don't suppose they're hooking up, do you?" After hearing that, both he and Bear burst out laughing.

"Nate and Katie?! YEAH RIGHT!" Bear laughed. "Katie's too popular to be with someone as average as Nate!"

"Yeah, not in a million years!" Eddie laughed.

"Still though…" Bear got serious again. "What could they be possibly doing?"

"Yeah…" Eddie pondered.

"Um, excuse me.." A female voice from behind them said. The two boys turned around to where the voice came from. There behind them was a young girl with blue hair tied in a braided ponytail. She wore a yellow dress that went up to her ankles, which had a blue X below her white dress collar. She also wore white leggings and brown sandals. The boys' faces turned slightly red from seeing her coming up to talk to them.

"Are you two friends of Nate Adams?" She asked. The boys were shocked from hearing that question.

"Uhhh, yeah…" Bear stammered. "Why?"

"Hold on.." Eddie cut in. "Aren't you from Class 5-1? The class that's right next to ours?" Bear looked at Eddie in surprise.

"Of course. Where are my manners?!" The girl replied sheepishly. "Yes, I am from class 5-1 of Springdale Elementary. My name is Jessica Stonewood. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too." Eddie greeted back. "My name is Eddie Archer."

"And I'm Barnaby Bernstein." Bear introduced himself. "But my friends call me Bear."

"Cute nickname." Jessica giggled, causing Bear to blush.

"Anyway, you were asking about our friend Nate, right?" Eddie asked. "How do you know him?"

"Oh, I don't know him that well.." Jessica replied. "I only heard my friend talk about him once. My friend's name is Hailey Anne Thomas."

"Hailey Anne? I think I've heard of her." Bear spoke up. "Isn't she that super-obsessed space enthusiast?"

"That's the one." Jessica nodded. "She's also obsessed with Sailor Cuties."

"That space anime?" Eddie exclaimed. "I guess that would explain a lot."

"Anyway, how does Hailey know Nate?" Bear asked.

"I don't know.." Jessica shrugged.

"You don't suppose they're hiding some kind of secret, do you?" Eddie asked.

"Maybe. I don't know.." Jessica shrugged again. "Only way to really know is to ask them ourselves."

"But we don't even know where they are right now." Bear objected.

"I just saw them at Gourd Pond Park." Jessica claimed. "They were with a few others. One was a girl about their age. She had her hair tied in a ponytail with a pink bow."

"That's Katie!" Eddie exclaimed.

"I thought she looked familiar." Jessica replied. "There were three others too. But I never saw them before." Bear and Eddie were surprised after hearing this.

"I say we'd better check it out." Bear exclaimed.

"Good idea. Let's go!" Eddie agreed, and the three of them ran for Gourd Pond Park. However, unbeknownst to them, a figure was watching them from behind, able to overhear their conversation. The figure even growled after hearing Katie's name….for a reason only it knew.

Back at Gourd Pond Park…

"WHO ARE YOU?!" Nate, Katie, Ash, Misty, Whisper, Jibanyan, Brock, Hailey, and USApyon all exclaimed. Right before their eyes was a creature they've never seen before. It had pointy ears, blue lagoon skin, long black hair tied in a traditional Chinese ponytail with a red ribbon. It had primrose eyes and long fangs. It wore a purple Manchu skullcap that was usually worn by 6th rank officials during the Qing dynasty, which was covered in red twine fringe bound by a blue hitodama flame on top with an upturned brim with yellow trims and a beige paper talisman if front. It also wore a purple zhiduo (men's casual robe during the Yuan and Ming dynasties) with long sleeves and a sky blue collar. The zhiduo's lower half was 7 inches above the knees. It also wore black pants with blue trims and traditional martial-arts black flat shoes.

"I am Leapire." The creature explained.

"A yo-kai?" Nate asked in surprise.

"OH MY GOSH!" Whisper exclaimed, catching everyone by surprise. He was already looking through his yo-kai pad. "IT'S THE CLASSIC YO-KAI LEAPIRE!"

"Does he always act like that?" Ash asked Nate.

"Only when we come across a Classic Yo-Kai." Nate replied.

"What's a Classic Yo-Kai?" Katie asked.

"A Yo-Kai that have existed way before some of the Yo-Kai you see today." Usapyon explained as Nate opened his mouth. Nate slumped seconds after that.

"I think Nate was going to say that." Hailey told the otter Yo-Kai.

"Oops. Sorry, partner." USApyon apologized. "You can say it if you like."

"I don't think it'll do any good now." Nate groaned. USApyon just sweatdropped.

"So anyway, what kind of Yo-Kai are you?" Misty asked. THAT was when Nate started jumping around. Everyone looked at him in confusion.

"Uhhh Nate….what are you doing?" Katie asked.

"I HAVE NO IDEA!" Nate exclaimed in agony as he jumped around.

"Hold on!" Ash tried to help Nate, but he ended up jumping around himself. Misty and Brock sweatdropped.

"Uhhh, what's going on?" Brock asked.

"This is Leapire's doing." USApyon pointed to Leapire, who was also jumping around.

"Ah yes. Leapire is an extremely jumpy Yo-Kai." Whisper explained. "Whoever he inspirits feels jumpy and starts bouncing around. Of course, no one jumps as high and as fast as Leapire."

"Geez." Jibanyan exclaimed. "He syure likes to jump around.

THAT was when Jump Around by House of Pain started playing.

"OH YEAH! THAT'S MY NEW JAM!" Leapire exclaimed. "JUMP AROUND! JUMP AROUND!" He started jumping around with the beat of the music. Nate and Ash, who were still inspirited by Leapire, started jumping along with Leapire. Katie, Brock and Misty just sweatdropped at them.

"Where did that song suddenly start coming from?!" Jibanyan asked.

"Uhhhh, take a gander." USApyon pointed. Whisper, Jibanyan, Pikachu, Brock, Misty, and Katie turned to see that USApyon was pointing to Hailey, who was moving with the beat of the song, which was coming from her iPod.

"HAILEY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Katie shouted at her, scaring Hailey out of her dance.

"W-Well, since everyone was jumping around, I thought it a good time for the song Jump Around". Hailey laughed sheepishly.

"THAT IS NOT FUNNY!" Katie snapped. "TURN THAT OFF!" Hailey complied real quickly, as Katie's anger scared her. Nate, Ash and Leapire stopped jumping after that.

"Aww, I was enjoying that." Leapire scoffed. "You gotta give me that song though."

"Uhhh, it's titled Jump Around by House of Pain." Hailey explained.

"HAILEY!" Katie snapped.

"What? He asked." Hailey shrugged.

"But now that he knows the song, he's gonna start jumping around again!" Katie snapped.

"She's right." Misty agreed. "Besides, we need to focus on the task at hand."

"Yeah. By the way.." Nate turned to Leapire. "You said you could help us with our crisis here."

"Of course." Leapire replied. "You see, the reason I'm all jumpy because it's all part of my Kung Fu style!"

"Whoa!" Hailey exclaimed. "You're a KUNG FU MASTER?!"

"That's right." Leapire nodded. "I'm also an excellent Chinese chef. And I'm very good at playing Chinese instruments."

Hailey's eyes sparkled. USApyon sweatdropped.

"Uhhh, can we get back to the point?" Ash asked.

"Yes, of course." Leapire continued. "Anyway, I was just finishing up my Kung Fu training and was going to fix myself up a good Chinese meal." Everyone continued to listen.

"But when I got to my kitchen, I found all my metal cooking utensils melted." Leapire explained. Everyone's eyes widened.

"How?" USApyon asked.

"I was trying to figure that out." Leapire explained. "I looked around my kitchen to see if anyone else was in there. That was when I found THIS little fella." He gestured to a little creature that appeared from behind him. It had a silver liquid-like body, kinda like a Ditto's, a golden nut-shaped head with a black dot in the center. Everyone was surprised by the sight of the creature. Ash and Pikachu's eyes lit up instantly as they recognized it right away.

"IT'S A MELTAN!" Ash exclaimed.

"Ash, you know that Pokémon?" Brock asked.

"Yeah!" Ash replied. "I caught one when I was in Alola! It really helped me out a lot. Especially in the Alolan Pokémon League after it evolved into Melmetal!"
"Oh yeah, I remember hearing about that!" Misty exclaimed. She liked Ash's stories from Alola. Especially since she and Brock both went there at least once, and when Ash and his class came home to Kanto. Not only did she get to spend more time with Ash, but she was able to make some new friends as well.

"So you know about this little fella, huh?" Leapire asked. "Well, then is there any chance you know what may have happened to my cooking tools?"

"Yeah. You see, Meltan is a hex nut Pokémon." Ash explained. "And apparently, due to its liquid metal body, any metal object that it comes near to melts."

"Well that explains what happened to my cooking tools." Leapire exclaimed. "But what was it doing in my house?"

"Hey, another one!" Nate exclaimed. He was pointing at another Meltan that appeared nearby. That was when Ash realized it.

"It must've been looking for its buddies!" He exclaimed.

"Aww, that's cute." Katie cooed.

"Cute, but also very important." Ash explained. "You see, it takes a combining of a lot of Meltan to create Melmetal."

"I see." Leapire understood as he turned back to the first Meltan. "So this little one must've stumbled upon my house during its search for its friend." And Leapire was right, for that Meltan went to meet the other Meltan. Both were joyful about finally meeting each other.

"Awww, adorable!" Hailey cooed.

"I should probably ask, though." Brock cut in. "What are these Meltan doing here in Springdale?"

"That is a good question." USApyon nodded. Then the second Meltan went up to Nate. Nate looked down at it, and it gave him a cheerful look.

"I think that Meltan likes you, Nyate." Jibanyan noted.

"Aww, that is so cute!" Katie cooed, causing Nate to blush.

"Hey, it's surrounded by a strange aura!" Ash exclaimed. Everyone looked at the Meltan. Ash was right. The Meltan had a red aura around it.

"Could it be inspirited by a Yo-Kai?" Whisper exclaimed.

"I don't know.." Nate observed the aura closely. "That sure doesn't look like Yo-Kai aura to me."

Meanwhile, Bear, Eddie, and Jessica were watching the group behind a tree on the edge of the park.

"That is Nate and Katie!" Eddie exclaimed.

"Hailey too!" Jessica exclaimed right after.

"But who are those other three with them?" Bear asked. "I've never seen them before."

"Me neither." Eddie shook his head. "And what are those creatures with them?"

While the three of them observed from behind their tree, the mysterious figure from earlier was also observing the group, from the left wall of the Gourd Pond Museum. It sighed as it looked at Nate, but seethed with anger as it looked at Katie.

Suddenly, a puff of purple smoke appeared near Gourd Pond. Nate, Katie, Hailey, Ash, Misty, Brock, along with their Yo-Kai and Pokémon, surprised be this, turned to the puff of smoke. When it cleared, a pale gray skinned man appeared. He had long white hair, two pointy ears, light blue eyes and short black nails. He wore a pale blue garment with a collar that stands upwards, a black robe with slate gray wisp-like patterns, tied together by an indigo blue obi with a mulberry colored rope, pale blue pants, and grey boots with wisps placed at the ends. He also wielded a dark silver gray staff with a single horned skull and one red eye.

"Watchholders and Pokémon trainers." He greeted. "It is an honor to finally meet you."

"Who are you?!" Nate asked.

"I am Zazel." The man introduced himself. "I am the head of the Yo-Kai Council and Lord Enma's right hand."

"You're Enma's right hand man?!" Nate and Hailey exclaimed at the same time.

"That's right." Zazel nodded. "And he sent me to bring you all to the Yo-Kai world. He would like to speak with you all."

"About what?" Ash asked.

"About the crisis at hand." Zazel replied. The kids understood what he meant right away.

"But how do we get to the Yo-Kai world?" Misty asked.

"I believe one of you has a Yo-Kai capable of doing that." Zazel implied.

"He's right!" Whisper exclaimed. "Nate, call Mirapo!"

"Way ahead of you!" Nate exclaimed, activating his Yo-Kai Watch and pulling out Mirapo's medal.

"Come on out, my friend!" He shouted. "Calling Mirapo!"

"Yo-Kai Medal, DO YOUR THING!"

Mystery! Mystery! How Mysterious!

Mirapo!

"Mirapo, it appears Lord Enma wants all of us to meet him in the Yo-Kai World." Nate explained. "Can you take us there please?"

"Absolutely!" Mirapo replied. "Anything to do with the Yo-Kai King is very urgent!"

"Ok everyone, gather around Mirapo!" Nate told everyone. At that moment, Katie, Hailey, Ash, Misty, Brock, their Yo-Kai and Pokémon, and Zazel all gathered around. Then Mirapo's mirror shined brightly, and sucked everyone into it.

Bear, Eddie, and Jessica, along with the mysterious figure, couldn't see the Yo-Kai, so all they saw was their friends just disappear into thin air.

"WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!" Bear, Eddie, and Jessica exclaimed all at the same time.
