Chapter 16

I needed more of a challenge.

As sad as it was to say and as bad as I felt to admit to the brothers. The four on one hasn't been the least bit inspiring. Not to mention, their bodies haven't had time to rest. Perhaps if given more time, they may pose more of a challenge. Yet I wondered though, the triplets, could they possibly give me more of a challenge? I decided to ask them one day to assist me in training.

Luna was all for it, and her siblings agreed. Yet their older brothers were a little against it. "They haven't fought before, is this really a good idea?" asked Draven.

"Have you not seen Luna when she gets going? That girl has energy to burn, she can keep up with Boros." Stated Pac.

"Not only that, consider this, they all possess some of my power." I explained.

They weren't the least bit surprised. "Figures, we should have kept a better eye on them…" muttered Pac.

"I wish to know how they obtained it. I have observed your family for some time now…"

Pac nodded, he was about to speak until Hunter beat him to the punch. "When we're born we got power from both dad and mom… mom's was more unique in a sense, at a young age, we had her absorption power. We could take the strength from those around us with a single touch." He explained. "Luna, Akira and Eclipsa all held you when you were smaller, so they accidently absorbed some of your abilities."

"Can you do it now?" I asked. "If you were to touch me, can you take my strength too?"

"Not at this stage, also I don't think any of us can but Alley and mom."

"Huh? That doesn't quite make sense to me…"

"We're still learning about this shit, cut us a break!" Hunter said and laughed. "Besides, we are still getting stronger with what we eat and how often we fight. We tend to eat more than fight… monsters aren't powerful to us anymore."

Well the battle I had with the triplets provided me with excellent insight. One Luna can match me without hesitation. Second, her siblings apparently are capable of going to stage 2, but they have not attempted to go any farther, unless they are unable to.

However, just battling Luna alone, I knew my strength well. To see it radiate off of her, it was like magic. I never thought that my power could be contained in another… until I met her.

This feeling keeps coming over me every time I lay eyes on her.

Luna smiled as her happy go lucky self, but there was an issue I noticed. She strains herself going from stage two to three. She has a hard time controlling and containing the power. I decided, as long as I am here, I'll teach her to control it. Her father taught me, and sadly, he is unable to assist from this point on.

The sessions proved to be most beneficial.

Luna learned quickly as the weeks passed, how unfortunate though that I ruined her human skin. Well, not just hers. Her brother and sister as well, I got careless and too consumed with the battle to realize what I had done. None were bothered by it oddly enough.

I eventually swallowed my pride. I didn't wish to mention it before, yet with what happened, and the children of Garou were getting worn out by me, I decided to test myself… and challenged Saitama.

Truth be told, I half expected him to kill me when we sparred, yet the control he has over his own strength is nothing less than inspiring to me. He never aimed for the kill when it came to me, but he allowed me to go full strength to test him. "Just don't send me to the moon!" he said in a warning tone.

I do remember the original did that, but I vowed not to.

I learned a lot that day from him, and lost a limb or two, he was apologetic about it, but I brushed it off. I healed instantly and thanked him for his time.

Even after all that training I have done, it was still nothing to this man, thank the void I knew better than to try and finish what the original started!

I would venture back to the lab to see how the Brawlers were doing. The computer said they were only at 10%. So they are probably going to need a longer time than I expected.

Such a shame. I wanted to personally be the one to greet them waking up. Also, if this works properly and elder Garou and Melee are still ill. I know they can be cured with the Brawler's help.

With that being said, I decided to make recordings and leave a message for them. I thought of all the questions they could possibly ask and try to explain the results as best I can. I would do this for a few days when something comes to mind. But more importantly would be the one for when they wake up. The Brawlers will know instantly to where elder Melee is. She is their sister, the moment that thought gets put in their heads, and the scanners will kick in to find her. So with that being said, I made the message for when they woke.

"Greetings Brawlers. I had hoped I would have been here personally to see you awake, sadly it is not the case. I have come to inform you that you have been trued into cyborgs. You have no fear of becoming harmed again… just for the love of this earth god, DO NOT CHALLENGE SAITAMA!" I thought I would have to emphasize that to be safe than sorry. "The first thing I wish for you to do when you wake, is to seek out your sister, Melee." I paused for a moment. "Computer, I wish for another message in case the brothers wake, but their presences is needed immediately."

"Confirm"

I did another message, but this one I had to be sure. I typed in a new code to have it download to the brothers. Sadly in doing this, the percentage rate went from 10 down to five. But it must be done. "Brawlers, there isn't time to explain, seek out your sister Melee this instant! You will be given the coordinates, follow them and get to her!"

It was the best I could do for the time being. But they will have an instant lock on Melee. As well, I have the computer here on standby. Despite the distance it will keep track of her health and if she is in danger. The brothers will be alerted the moment they are ready…

Strange, their percentage rate just went up again.

Looking to the screen I did a double take, it was five percent just a moment ago… now it's fifteen!

Twenty…

Twenty five…

I was taken aback.

Were the brothers trying to wake up faster? Are they aware of the situation at hand?

I didn't know, but it would be the last message I made. I left notes for mother to find too after I am gone. I even wrote letters. One for mother and one for father as a thank you for all they have done for me.

After all, the pressure in the air was changing.

Nova Purge is entering the galaxy….

On the day of it's arrival, I decided I needed to do one more thing.

I found elder Melee at the Association resting up from her recent purge of the toxins infecting her body. She laid in one of the resting areas, sound asleep. I approached with caution and saw the aura on her arms. Her skin is amazing to say the least, and the fact that the ability is passed down through her children to an extent is nothing less than remarkable as well. As she laid there asleep I approached her bedside. "Elder… thank you for raising a remarkable daughter, who in return taught me great things of this world. I have no way of repaying you for such kindness, however, I hope this will be enough…"

I reached down gently for her arm, resting my hand I felt my power surge out of me, and into her.

Elder's body jolted slightly from the transfer, but I could only wonder if it worked. There was no sign or indication that it took, but it was all I could do.

Now, to face that damn clone, and then, return to space where I belong…
