-Past, 6 year old Izumi back in her apartment with her mother-
"Izumi, sweetie! Dinner time!" Midoriya Inko called her daughter as she placed a bowl of Katsudon. A couple of heartbeats passed, but Izumi didn't reply, nor came. Inko frowned. What was that girl doing?
She checked her room, but it was empty. She wasn't in front of the computer, either. "Izumi?" She called out again. She heard the bathroom door open, and Inko turned.
"Mom?" Little Izumi came out, looking a bit troubled. "I think something's weird going on with my body?"
"What do mean, dear? Do you feel sick?" Her mother crouched down to her level and had their forehead touching. "Hmm… There's no fever? How's your appetite?"
The small girl shook her head. "It's not sickness mom… I just feel… weird… Today at school, I had an argument with a classmate."
She gasped. "What happened!? Are you okay?"
"Mom, Listen!" Izumi urged. "We had an argument about heroes, and I got so mad at her that… I don't know what happened, but she ended up screaming and running away from me. She told the teacher later that I had become a freak because she saw me have… fangs." Inko's shoulders tensed as she forgot how to breathe. "She even claimed that my eyes turned narrow, like an animal."
The woman's eyes turned wary.
Izumi went on as she failed to notice her mother's demeanor. "I looked at myself at the mirror later, but there was nothing different about me. So I assumed she lied. But after that… I… could hear things from far away. Smell things more sharply. The neighbors from next door… I can hear them now, and smell what they're having for dinner."
Inko swallowed hard, and tried to calm herself down. "Izumi, is your hearing still sharp right now?"
"Yeah… My ears feel more sensitive when someone shouts too close to me. Right now the neighbors from the other side are having an argument." Inko couldn't hear any shouts or sound of an argument next door. Izumi paused as she contemplated. "Do… Does that mean I finally got a quirk!?" Izumi said with excitement, her green eyes literally glowed for a heartbeat, startling her mother.
"No," her mother blurted by accident, stopping Izumi. "I mean...It… it may be quirk related, but quirk manifestation may not be the case…"
She blinked with confusion. "Mom?" She asked, but Inko didn't hide her troubled expression.
"Honey, why don't you go ahead and start eating. Mommy has to make a couple of calls. Alright?"
"...okay…"
The next day, Inko didn't allow Izumi to go to school. Why? Izumi didn't know, and she was more worried about her mother constantly having an argument with someone over the house phone.
She peeked from the corner of the wall, her mother shook her head with disbelief as she argued, "I already told you, she's quirkless… Yes...Yes...That's the sole reason why Hisashi left us. This… no, no way. We don't need protection! We don't need people constantly monitoring over us! Izumi is fine and can live a normal life! I don't want her to be part of that world the Midoriya family has always lived in. She… What?! No, Daiki! You don't need to come here. We…" she removed the phone from her ear before slamming it back down. "Daiki-Niisan… why?" She pressed the heels of her palm over her eyes, clearly then noticed Izumi, and forced a smile.
"Mom, who was that?" Izumi came out to hug her mother.
"That was my older brother." She said softly, stroking her hair. "Your uncle… it seems… he'll be visiting us soon."
"...Mom, something weird is happening to my body again." She stepped back and rolled her pink sleeves up. Inko gasped. Thin black streaks of something that looked like black paint covered half her skin. The design on it seemed like someone had adorned her forearms with long thin black ribbons, as though they were decorating a Christmas tree.
"I didn't paint them. I promise. When I accidentally hit my arms to the wall… these things shot out and protected my skin from getting scraped. But the wall got damaged because of that." She looked up. "Mom, are you sure I'm not developing a quirk?"
Inko stared at her, then down her forearms, then back again. There was no denying it any longer. Her daughter had become like the rest of the family. She cleared her throat and picked her daughter up. "Izumi… there's something you should know about your family, and about… your father's reasons as to why he married me."
-Current timeline, outside,—
Izumi had gotten unnecessary attention from the other half of her classmates because of her clothes.
Her white blouse was tucked tightly into her black pants, and the embarrassing part of it was that she was just wearing a black tank top underneath it. Not a shirt, as she was unprepared. Fortunately, her blouse was a formal piece, so it wasn't made thin and transparent despite being styled as a v-neck.
She had her grappling hook strapped at the right side underneath her belt gun holster. Her boots shined as she walked behind the girls, hiding herself, as her black earring glinted from the light.
It felt like she was going to work, but not. The only difference was that her hair was still like a bush thanks to that device on her nape; she wasn't wearing makeup (as she didn't plan on hiding her freckles); and the atmosphere around her wasn't cold, nor was she expressionless.
The problem now was what should she do with her composure? She wanted to be herself, be natural, and not wear that fake mask. However, she would be showing a lot of her emotions and reactions to people and would end up being embarrassed about.
And also, even if she wore this blouse and pants to work and hunted criminals down, she was a little wary of it getting torn and burned from Katsuki's explosions. They weren't made as fire-proof, but now she made a mental note to herself in the near future that she would have it customized as she doubted this was the last switch-clothing prank Grey would pull on her.
—no one's perspective—
When the girls were coming out the building, a glowing pair of emerald eyes had caught Todoroki off guard.
It was like that girl … that night...
As Izumi came outside from the shadows of the building, the glowing stopped.
Oh, so it was her.
Todoroki sighed, disappointed for some reason. Izumi looked away when she made eye contact with him, flushing from embarrassment. He looked at her again, his eyes lowered to her body...
Ah…
Were those clothes really suitable for training?
He shook his head. No, that's not important right now.
She jumped when Todoroki approached her, her shoulders tensed. "Hi, Todoroki-kun," she said, nervously. "Let's both do our best."
"... Yes," he said expressionless.
Izumi nodded, and looked away. Not many words were exchanged for a moment.
He studied her. When Todoroki first saw her, he thought she was that girl. But as he continued to watch her, he was mistaken. That girl he saw seemed fearless, her eyes glowed and gleamed of slyness, confidence and excitement, she didn't stutter or feel nervous. Izumi seemed to be the complete opposite of her. As soon as someone's attention was focused on her, her shoulder tenses, she goes nervous, and tries to escape and run. She also has a habit of muttering unconsciously.
So, in the end, there was no way they were the same...
…
Unless...
"Midoriya… do you happen to have a sister?"
Izumi blinked, baffled as she looked at him. "No... um, I'm an only child."
"...I see…" he contemplated . "Do you know someone else who has the same green eyes as you but longer green hair, and is also in good relations with Nakamura?"
"Eh?"
Meanwhile, Katsuki had his jaw drop when he saw her. What the hell? Was that her new costume now? Why does that look like a business attire? And why the hell did she carry a gun when she has a quirk?
The hell was going on?
When he saw the ice bastard talking to her, he couldn't help but feel uneasy. What's his business with her!? Katsuki nearly took a step forward to approach her, but stopped himself. He vowed he wouldn't get involved with Deku anymore as he needed to pull himself together. Every time he had a certain thought about her, his head would hurt, or his chest would ache with pain. He still didn't know the reason, but he was sure in hell pissed whenever it happened.
After insisting to Todoroki that Izumi didn't know any other girl Grey was close, Aizawa Sensei appeared."Hmm? Midoriya, did you change your costume?" Her teacher asked.
" I'm sorry, Aizawa sensei," Izumi said, full of annoyance and dread, her face darkened. . " This is temporary. I swear. A certain punk from Class 1-B pulled a prank on me and hid my tracksuit... please turn a blind eye on this."
"...Huh," he mused, then waved his hand as he turned to go to the bus.
Huh, that was easy. She hoped her teacher didn't see Grey as a major menace because of this.
From time to time, Izumi and Grey pulled pranks on each other, like stealing or hiding clothes or things. They even played a game of setting each other up in certain scenarios that are tough for them. It was like a game. A competition. And they were very competitive with each other sometimes. But seriously, switching her P.E clothes with her cop clothes was at the very edge of crossing the line as her uncle was very clear not to let anyone find out about her job.
She sighed heavily. She said jokingly to herself, "If Grey was going to do this, at least put my jacket along with it…" right on cue, a black leather came falling from the sky, and covered Todoroki's head, startling the boy. Izumi's head shook with disbelief as her classmates gaped, wondering where the jacket came from. "That son of…" she quickly retrieved her jacket and apologized profusely to Todoroki.
She pulled her phone and recorded a voice mail to Grey. "I swear, you will suffer once I get back and deal with you. But seriously, though, study! I don't want the M.E bagging your mangled body once my uncle finds out you're fooling around, again." She sent the message.
A whistle blow from Iida. "Class- 1A, gather around. Form two lines by your student number in order to make boarding the bus go smoothly!
She sweat dropped. "He's going at full throttle…" She commented to herself.
The bus ride was both entertaining and hell. When she took a seat, the first 2 people who sat next to her were Katsuki and Todoroki. That was hell. And the odd thing was that none of the boys said a word, or questioned her about anything. The silence just intensified the tension within her. Everyone could clearly see that she was sweating bullets.
When she realized they were going to sit next to her, she did try to escape, but Katsuki caught her hand. He said softly, but murderously, "oh no you don't." And she was yanked back to her seat. Izumi could tell he wasn't happy that Todoroki was sitting next to her, but didn't say anything about it, which was weird.
She may have dodged a bullet when Asui brought the idea that her quirk was similar to All Might, but Kirishima saved her from answering her question. Todoroki's cold eyes, for a heartbeat, gleamed with interest about the idea, but hadn't said anything. He stared at her for a while (that made her uncomfortable ) before sleeping the entire journey.
Meanwhile, Katsuki was teased for the very first time in history. Izumi was horrified, thinking he'll self-destruct. But seeing the blonde's flushed face and foreign expression made her laugh.
Katsuki had his eyes widen from her reaction, and one question hit his mind.
When was the last time I had truly seen Deku laugh?
He contemplated as his mind went back to memory lane.
Boy or girl, always around him she'd be scared, she'd cry, she'd force a smile.
But he'd never seen her laugh.
No… it was not a 'never'... rather, he just couldn't remember…
He couldn't remember…
...
His hissed as his head began to hurt again.
Shit...God damnit!
After finally reaching their destination, Izumi found herself fangirling at the pro hero: Thirteen. But after sometime, her cheerfulness didn't last when she sensed murderous intent. Bloodlust. The presence was faint as the location was far away. She whipped her head to the east end. Roughly 16. The west side was … 20? 28? More?
"Sensei, just how many people are monitoring us?" She asked, her voice quivering even though she tried to calm herself.
"All Might, me and thirteen." He replied, frowning at the horrified look Izumi had on her face. "Unfortunately, it seems All Might wouldn't be—"
Her eyes widened when she sensed something incoming. "Then," she rudely interrupted, pointing at the fountain below them at the plaza. " Why are more coming?"
"More?" The underground hero stared at her for a heartbeat, puzzled. But then realized the implied message that something was not right. Given her background, he decided to take her words seriously and looked.
Nothing at first.
But then, the water stopped running, the lights flickered. A heartbeat later, dark purple mist had appeared suddenly and spread, covering the fountain, then a man wearing black clothing emerged from the mist.
"What's that?" Kirishima questioned as he took a step closer. "Is this like the entrance exam where the lessons already started."
"Villains…" Izumi whispered, taking a step back. "Why are they here?"
Aizawa placed her goggles over his eyes. "The trespassing the other day was the work of the scumbags after all, Ha?" His voice was calm, but also mixed with irritation.
Izumi hissed, and fished her phone out of her pocket. She punched on a number and tried to call, but… it got cut. She tried again, but it was the same result.
"Did they only appear here, or around the whole school?" Todoroki said, stepping forward. "Either way, if the sensors are not responding, that means they have someone with a quirk that can do that. An isolated area separated from the main campus during a time when a class is supposed to be here. They might be fools, but they're not dumb. This surprise attack was carefully planned with some sort of goal in mind."
After his monologue ended, Izumi hissed again, clearly frustrated. Izumi touched her black stud earring and pressed the button on it. "Sensei, I'm unable to get hold of the school, nor the station. We're on our own on this one! We need to leave," she turned to her classmates, her face looking serious for once. " Now!"
To think that I would end up performing my duties suddenly during school hours. If only Grey was here.
And I sure in hell told him to not watch me at the wrong time!
Now I'm wishing he hadn't listened to me.
Their teacher grunted in response. "Thirteen, start the evacuation."
The green haired girl froze when she realized what Aizawa was planning to do. But she bit her lip harshly, and had no choice but to accept it. Eraserhead wasn't a hero who could fight head on like All Might, but they needed someone to stall the villains to escape. A sacrifice. Even if Izumi wanted to fight alongside him, but she knew that he wouldn't want that. Having an argument with him over this would just waste their time. Civilians safety comes first right now.
The underground hero leapt into action. And the students began running to the exit.
Halfway through to the exit, Izumi sensed that someone was going to appear in front of them in another couple of heartbeats. This feeling… it was definitely similar to a teleportation quirk, like Grey's, if she could predict this. She ripped her gun out of the belt holster.
Not good, not good!
She darted ahead of her classmates, going in front. Bakugou's eyes widened when he saw green hair in his vision, while Todoroki gasped when realizing the timid girl suddenly disappeared as she was right behind him. When they saw purple mist appearing at the floor in front of them, Izumi fired all her shells.
"What the—?" They all stopped by the sounds. Kamirari looked behind, then at front, then again. "When did she—"
"Ho—?" A man shrouded with mist, and yellow glowing eyes still emerged from the ground, unfazed by the shots . "How amusing. You knew exactly I would come."
"The bullets have no effect!?" She muttered to herself. "Does he have no physical body?"
The green haired girl clicked her tongue, reloading her gun and pointed at the villain. "Who are you!?" She demanded.
He chuckled. "Greetings. We are the League of Villains. It may be presumptuous of us, but we have invited ourselves in to the home of the heroes, U.A high school. In order to have All Might, the symbol of peace, take his last breath."
She gritted her teeth as she filched.
Kill All Might!? That's crazy and reckless! What makes them believe they could just accomplish that?
Even pick-pockets aren't cocky enough to believe they can do so… unless…
Unless...
...
...
Do they know that the symbol of peace is getting weaker?
"I believe All Might should have been here." He went on. "Has there been some kind of change? Well, that is neither here nor there. This is the part I am to play." He raised his mist like arms, and both Izumi and Thirteen were getting ready to attack. But—
Both Kirishima and Katsuki rushed ahead and attacked the villain head one. Izumi held her fire and screamed, "BAKA! YOU CAN'T ATTACK SO RECKLESSLY—"
Katsuki's explosions cut her off. Dust, smoke and debris gathered in the air, blinding them.
She coughed from the dust raised in the air. Izumi had thought those two had got that villain good from the impact from the explosion. But Izumi felt her hair rise when the same ominous presence returned. "KACCHAN! KIRISHIMA-KUN! GET BACK!"
"Oh dear, that was dangerous." The villain's warp reformed. Shit! "That's right. Even if you are students, you are excellent golden eggs. My job is to scatter you all and torture you to death!"
The villain's dark mist shot forward, devouring them into the darkness...
—shipwreck zone—
Izumi was plunged into the cold depths of water.
Before she could gather her thoughts together, a villain was at the verge of attacking her-Until Asui saved her.
They took shelter on the ship, only to realize soon that villain's with suitable water base quirks had them surrounded.
This was bad, and she was infuriated by her situation.
Being forced into work duties out of the blue with no warnings (which she hated), not carrying enough bullets with her to shoot all these guys, not being able to call her colleagues, and not carrying dozens of handcuffs to restrain them—How could she take care of all this!? If Grey was here, he could have helped her look for her classmates and evacuate to safety. He could even help her fight and arrest these overwhelming number of villains.
But he was not here…
She was on her own this time.
Shit, having to realize this now, Izumi had been foolish this whole time. As a cop, Grey had been her partner for years, and she'd inadvertently grown dependent on him and his quirks. She thought she'd be fine on her own whenever she'd performed her duties using the skills taught to her - Intelligence, deception, martial arts, gymnastics, acrobatics...
But in a situation like this, she was wrong.
Even if she finally got herself a quirk from All Might, she still couldn't control it. And if she broke her arms right now, she'd be out of commission for good.
...She did, however… have another trick up her sleeve, but that had to…
she'd have to force her biological…
Forcing that other power out of her when it was not the full moon tonight would take time and focus. And right now she didn't have time, and she couldn't focus.
Great… Shit...
Well.. the only advantage they had, she supposed, was that the villains didn't know their quirks. If they did, they should have placed Asui in an environment that did not suit her. But as a countermeasure to their flaw, the villains thought they could overpower them with numbers. A good plan, but definitely seemed half baked.
…
…
…
Well, time to get wild.
Izumi took a heavy breath, her hand now reaching for her gun. "Asui-san, Mineta-kun, please listen to my plan carefully," she said, her face darkening. she took out her gun, filling the empty slots with paralyzing ammos.
"...Kero?" Asui's eyes widened, Mineta gulped at the sight he was witnessing.
"Please stay inside the ship's cabinet for your own safety." A feral but dark smile formed as she brought her gun closer to her face, her grin exposed her teeth—now turning into a wild animal's canines. There was a deadly glint in her eyes as she looked at the villains below. "I gotta teach these bitches some manners..."
God, she was pissed.
-later, the plaza—
After the villains were taken care of, Izumi, Mineta and Asui watched the brutal fight their teacher had against a villain called Nomu from a distance at the edge of the water back. If she was honest, he looked nothing more than a bird-like abomination from hell. And just as she suspected, Aizawa Sensei had overexerted himself. He couldn't protect himself from the brutal blows the creature gave . He was bleeding from his head badly, his right elbow had crumbled, his arm was broken so easily like a twig.
The green haired girl was frustrated at how helpless she was right now. She knew if her teacher kept having his head slammed to the ground more than this, he'd die. But she wasn't strong enough to fight that thing. Not to mention...
Izumi looked at her classmates. Mineta cowered with fear, covering his mouth with his hands as he silently cried, Asui had half her face under the water as she trembled. Izumi wouldn't be able to fight and protect her classmates at the same time. If only Grey was here…
God.. she was pathetic. WEAK!
"Tch… we can't stand against a group of pros." Shigaraki Tomura, the villain's ringleader, said when Kurogiri delivered the news. "It's game over. Shall we go home?"
"G-Go home?" She whispered to herself. Were they just giving up? They didn't make sense! The planning, the damage they caused, all that effort was—they were just going to leave just like that?
Izumi gasped when she felt the murderous intent again, this time her body and senses were screaming at her, alerting her that the enemy realized their presence.
"Shit!"
She aimed her grappling hook to the air and shot it. The hook hadn't penetrated the ceiling on time as the ringleader was in front of them with inhuman speed, and touched Asui's head. Nothing happened.
"Tch, you really are cool, Eraserhead." The villain looked behind his shoulder, annoyed. Aizawa Sensei, in such a broken state, still used his quirk to prevent her classmate from being disintegrated.
"Midoriya!" He yelled and his voice sounded cracked and broken. "Get the students out of here now!" She flinched when her teacher's head was slammed down again.
"Yes!" She wrapped an arm around Mineta and Asui stomach area and held their bodies close to her as they were lifted from the water immediately.
"Waaaaaa!" Mineta screamed, he must not like it being shot up in the air so suddenly.
"Nomu, get them." The villain ordered.
The abomination snapped his head to their direction and jumped in god like speed. Everything was in slow motion as the creature was now in front of her in midair, her instincts were now telling her he was going to punch them—given the way he was tilting his shoulder and pulling his arm back. Out of reflex, Izumi ended up activating her quirk, and swung her leg to a high kick to the head. Not given it a chance to attack. "SMASH!" She screamed, holding her classmates close as her leg hit the creature's eyes and beak—exactly as she aimed.
It worked. It threw Nomu off guard given that she didn't hit his muscles or his meaty flesh, and the power of One for All was strong enough to push the villain back down. The creature hit the water.
"M-m-m-Midoriya!" Mineta cried, "If you're going to do something like that with us in your arm, a little heads up would have been nice!"
"Sorry, Mineta-kun, both my hands are still occupied so—" Her words died out as she looked at her leg. It wasn't broken. A sound of a small laugh escaped her lips. She… she did it.
She finally got a hold on her quirk somehow.
"What the hell are these kids!?" Shagariki demanded, scratching his neck. "Nomu!" The creature resurfaced from the water. Shit, Izumi doubted the same trick was gonna work twice. Before she could think of another plan—
BAAAAAAMMM!
"Everything is going to be fine now, as I am here!"
All Might had finally arrived.
—Forwarding a bit—
Before Izumi carried her teacher, she unbuttoned and removed her white blouse before tearing the fabric with her teeth.
"Izumi-Chan!"
"It's okay, Asui-Chan. I'll get a new one." She wrapped one piece over the crumbled flesh on Aizawa sensei's arm, then wrapped the other piece over his head to stop the bleeding. "This would do for now." She said, putting the black leather jacket over her shoulders, covering her black tank top. Mineta helped her (kinda?) as he picked their teacher's legs over his shoulder while Izumi carried him. His pulse was weak, but he would live. That relieved her, but there were other things she was worried about.
All Might.
Even if he was here to save them all, he would struggle a lot as he was weaker than before. She could tell that he'd been over his limit, and was now forcing himself in his muscle form to fight the villains. The only secret she knew burdened her, while her friends had their hopes high that everything would be alright now.
But it's not.
No.
Despite kicking that Nomu while using her quirk, it seemed that her power was ineffective as that creature didn't phase. It was perfectly fine when it came out of the water a heartbeat later .
If it could take on her power like that, then…
She gritted her teeth.
After taking the capture weapon from the older man's neck and wrapping it around her's, she asked Asui to take care of Aizawa Sensei before she ran towards the villains.
She didn't have a plan, nor had any idea what she was going to do next. She wasn't even entirely that skilled using this capture weapon compared to her teacher.
Grey and her uncle would definitely be mad again that she was running into danger.
But right now…
I don't care!
—forwarding again—
Katsuki, Todoroki, Kirishima—they all appeared in the nick of time.
However, they were still lacking power. Nomu's quirk wasn't just shock absorption, he also had super regeneration. And the villain said… that the creature was modified to take on All Might, which meant… it was made, and tested, and experimented on.
A science experiment subject.
It was probably not human anymore, if it was one once.
Izumi shivered at the thought.
"First we need our gate back. Nomu." The villain declared. Izumi's senses heightened. She quickly gripped the capture weapon. "Go, Nomu."
Everything was in slow motion again as the creature lunged towards Katsuki. Her eyes widened as he was getting closer and closer. Those fast moments forced her to have flashbacks of that horrible night Ryuu died in their apartment.
Her breathing went fast.
The shrill screaming from her mother.
Ryuu's body on the floor, motionless as a pool of blood flowed from underneath him.
Katsuki laid unconscious on the floor, bleeding from his head.
Blood. Blood everywhere.
Blood.
So much blood on the floor, on her hands.
Red.
Everywhere.
She watched Ryuu die… and blood was splattered everywhere.
Kacchan survived that night by some miracle
Kacchan was just close to have his life snuffed out of his body when the Sludge villain attacked him
Fate wants to take his life again.
And Again
And Again
And Again.
Nomu was now a few inches away from Katsuki, and that made her pupils go narrow. her canines sharpened as she growled aggressively, " I reject this fate!"
—No one's perspective—
The fist stopped only a few inches from Katsuki's face, but that was enough to raise strong dust clouds in the air. The impact was so strong that the air pushed Katsuki back, releasing his hold on the warp villain. Everyone else, sans All Might, struggled to keep their feet steady on the ground as they were pushed back a bit. Kurogiri took his chance to teleport to Shigaraki's side.
When the dust cleared, and everything settled, they saw 2 things. Nomu was stuck in a position where his right fist was still in midair— but he didn't move, couldn't move due to the binds that were now wrapped around his thick muscles—and Izumi holding onto the other end of the binds, retraining his movements.
"Hmmm…? This child... Saw through Nomu's movements?" He mused. "What the hell?"
Todoroki's eyes widened.
"Midoriya!" Kirishima gasped.
"De...ku?" Katsuki questioned with wide eyes, getting up from the ground. Did she… save him? No, did she see those fast movements and reacted much faster than he did!?
"Young Midoriya!" All Might shouted, shocked. She wasn't using One for All , the pro hero could tell. However, what kind of insane strength did she have to get hold of him!? As his eyes trailed to her hands that were gripping Aizawa's capture weapon, he frowned. There were… odd black streaks on her forearms and hands that looked like black ribbons wrapped around them.
Izumi snarled viciously, baring her sharp canines. " Don't… Touch him!"
The black ribbon markings had now suddenly become thicker—now making her entire skin on her hands and forearms black. She held onto the cloth tighter when she felt Nomu trying to break free. "All Might! Hurry!"she screamed.
"Hmmm? What the hell are those black things?" Shigaraki demanded, before he All Might rushed and punched Nomu in the gut with strong force—it sent the creature flying.
Izumi managed to release the binding on time before All Might hit Nomu so she would've also been sent flying along with the creature.
Shigaraki Tomura seemed to be getting pissed seeing his Nomu being thrown off somewhere. "Oi, Oi, What the hell? Nomu was designed to be stronger than All Might and kill the symbol of peace." He snapped his eyes at her direction. "How can a plain person, a nobody like you, even restrain Nomu when Eraserhead couldn't !? Are you some kind of animal !?"
…
Animal, huh, Izumi mused to herself. That wasn't the first someone called her that. This was nothing new to the entire midoriya family as some people called them wild monsters because of the unique blood they carried in their veins. The power almost every Midoriya member inherited and possessed.
"Why don't you figure it out?" Izumi simply smiled at the villain, her green eyes glowed from her darkened face as she brought a finger over her lips . "This is a secret after all."
Todoroki's eyes widened at that gesture.
This is our little secret.
It couldn't be… he thought…
-(I'm forwarding The entire fight as i'm lazy, lol) school infirmary-
She broke both her legs and landed up here.
If there was one word she had to describe herself, it was 'pathetic' .
She thought she managed to get a hold of one for All, she was wrong. It's gonna take a lot of practice, and quite possibly more bones breaking.
Grey came in earlier looking haunted and sick, he hugged her tightly as she could feel him shaking. He was scared. He thought he lost her when he heard the news. He kept blaming himself for not being there, not being able to help.
Izumi assured him that that's not the case, and it was nobody's fault. No one saw it coming. He offered to heal her with his other quirk, but the school nurse immediately shot down the idea as she didn't want to risk anything. After much persuasion and Recovery Girl's urges to kick him out, he left her side reluctantly.
"Because of the situation this time, I can't really scold you…" Recover Girl sighed.
"Perhaps," All Might said, lying on the next bed near Izumi's. "But I think I might've shortened my time limit again." Izumi gasped. Sitting up from the bed. "Well, it can't be helped." He sat up, Izumi's eyes were wary by the sight of all the bad ages wrapped around his chest.
…
Was she… was this her fault again? Was there anything she could have done to fight off the villains.
The door to the nurse's office opens. "Excuse me," a man wearing a light brown trench coat came in, removing his hat. He smiled. "All Might, it's been a while."
"Tsukauchi-kun!" The pro hero gleamed (coughing out blood at the same time). "You're here, too!?"
"All Might! Is it all right to show that form?" She asked with concern and panic.
"Yeah' it's fine. He's Naomasa Tsukauchi, my best friend in the force."
The policeman chucked. "What's with that introduction." His eyes turned to her and he froze. "Detective Angel! It's a pleasure to meet you in person!"
Izumi blinked. "I'm sorry, have we met before?"
"Unfortunately, not. However, you and Officer Devil are quite a famous pair in the precinct, despite us working in different divisions."
"Ah… I see…"
"Angel and Devil?" All Might questioned.
Izumi explained. "Grey decided on those names, and I don't know why my uncle agreed. 'Angel' and 'Devil' are an alias we use instead of our real names so people from our personal lives wouldn't… recognize us. We can't afford to let more people know about our job as the media might catch the wind from it." The last thing she wanted was paparazzi right in front of her doorstep every single day.
It was a relief to know that the teachers and students were going to be okay, and none of them died.
After another hour of rest, Izumi finally left the infirmary and went to the entrance of the school building, believing grey was waiting for her there.
She'd definitely had to visit her mother tomorrow as she couldn't risk putting more strain to her body than she did today. After all, forcing those blacks things out of her when her body wasn't in the right shape definitely increased the chance of her coughing out blood. And boy, she did not want to see her mother seeing that and fainting.
Todoroki greeted her instead of Grey, and Izumi felt her hair rise. Shit…
He asked her if she was okay, or if she needed help in anything. Izumi forced a smile and claimed everything was fine, but in truth, she was panicking from the inside.
Then suddenly, he said something that caught her interest.
"Last year… were you there for the new year's celebration?"
This startled her. How did he know? That day she was undercover with Grey , trying to figure out which hotel staff members were the bombers. They succeeded, sure, but that mission was kept lowkey and they never got a big award ceremony as people would either panic, or the media would be nosy about it and write a shoddy article. God, Grey didn't brag again to impress girls, did he? "Eh! How did you—?"
"We… met." She blinked. "The last time I saw you, you disappeared after jumping off the balcony."
Izumi froze, not saying anything for as time went by. She bit her lip, laughed nervously, and looked away. "Ah, I think you have mistaken me for someone else…"
He looked at her unamused. A terrible lie. "I'm afraid not, for 2 reasons. For one, your hair was green back then as it is now. It was longer back then, but I'm positive it's the same. The same thing goes for your eyes. They were glowing that night."
Izumi stared at him. Warily, gulping. "And the second?" She asked.
He looked at her and smiled. Todoroki then placed a finger over his lips, the sign to keep quiet. "You did this today... I couldn't forget that..."
This is our little secret.
This is a secret after all
"Um…" she scratched the back of her head. "Wow, this is embarrassing. I do recall sensing someone that day, but I didn't realize it was you that night. Sorry, it's probably because I was in such a hurry that I didn't recognize you sooner."
Shit, I screwed
This is Endeavor's son! And I screwed!
It won't be long until he finds out about my job!
"..."
"..."
"...Ow!" Todoroki flinched when she suddenly helped and jumped. Izumi felt the nape of her neck burning sharply for some reason. "What the hell?"
"Midoriya?" He blinked, in confusion. He was about to reach his hand out to see what's on her neck, when a familiar voice called.
"Ohhh! Midoriya, you're out!?" Kirishima called as he jogged towards them, Katsuki followed behind, gritting his teeth.
"Kirishima-kun, Kacchan… were you waiting for me?"
"Yeah. We were pretty worried. You didn't return to class for over an hour…" The red haired boy then noticed Todoroki behind her. "Whoa, I didn't know the Ice Prince was still here. Your car was parked outside the gate earlier, I thought you were gone by now."
"I asked the driver to wait, I'm in no hurry to go home yet ," he replied.
"Then why did Kacchan stay behind?" Izumi asked, confused. He had no reason to stay behind and wait for her... Unless he wanted answers…
...
Uh oh…
"It's because the old hag made me!" Katsuki yelled. "I don't know why she suddenly started caring about you after I told her what happened. She'd nearly blown my ears off ordering me to wait for you to get out of the infirmary to make sure you're in one f**king piece. " He narrowed his eyes at her. "And the interesting part of it was that she seemed well aware about your identity. So, Deku… Since, I've waited my ass off for you, you owe me an explanation how my old hag knew, and I didn't."
Izumi took a step back as she trembled. "Gee, I'd love too, but Grey is waiting for me. Also, Kacchan, didn't you say you'd get answers out me after a couple months past? I am not ready."
Need to run
Have to run
Gotta run
Run!
"Screw that! I want answers and I need to —"
"Nyaaaa!" They all flinched by the weird yelping (?) sound that came out of her mouth as she jumped. She hissed at the sharp burning sensation at the back of her nape. What the hell was it!?
Kirishima seemed to notice small smoke coming from her neck. "Hold on, Midoriya."
"Kirishima-kun?" She frowned when she felt the tips of his fingers brush her hair away from her nape.
"Midoriya, there's something sticking on your neck. I bet that's what's burning your skin…"
Huh?
"It must have gotten contact with some water—breaking it entirely. Here, I'll take it out."
Something at the neck...
…
…
...
Shit!
Shit! Shit! Shit!
"Wait—Kirishima-kun! Don't take it out—"
Too late.
The moment the fried device was removed from her nape, her hair had instantly returned to its original long length. Long green hair Midoriya Izumi was what they were seeing, and , in a way, she looked different from short bushed haired Midoriya Izumi.
"Eh…" Kirishima blinked, shocked and speechless.
"…Uh oh," Izumi could feel herself sweating. Shit...
Both Katsuki and Todoroki gaped at her, wordless.
Izumi looked at them over her shoulder, dread written all over her face. "Surprise …. " she gave a weak smile as she waved her hand, like she displayed some magic trick.
KatsukiExe has stopped working.
TodorokiExe has stopped working.
Kirishima Eijirou is confused!
The staring didn't stop.
…
…
…
"I gotta go," she turned and tried to run.
"Hold it!" Katsuki immediately reached out and grabbed the back collar of her leather jacket. She choked, then was sweating bullets as her face paled by the dark smile Katsuki was giving her. "The hell is going on, Deku~" he said in a tone that sounded sweet and that was scaring her. "Was this another deceiving act of yours?
She forced a sharp laugh. "No," she whimpered when those crimson eyes snapped at her. "...Yes?"
" Deeeeeeeekuuuuuuu! "
"Eeeek! I'm sorry, but I didn't have a choice!"
"The hell does that mean!?"
"It's exactly what it means," another familiar voice joined in, tossing an arm around Katsuki's neck casually. The ash haired blonde went stiff as Grey gave one of his insufferable smiles. "Her uncle was worried that she'd be too popular among the boys given how cute she is, they'd harass the poor girl endlessly."
"GET YOUR ARM OFF!" Katsuki shoved the tanned teen away, and Izumi took her chance to get out of his grip. She succeeded, and fled to hide behind Grey.
"Whoa," the boy mused, raising his hands. "No need to get so aggressive, Kacchan. I was just looking for Kitty, and found her hanging out with you guys. You really can chill out can, you? It's not like I've done anything bad , have I? " Grey gave a twisted smile, making Kirishima and Todoroki flinch.
Katsuki felt his anger rise. How calculating. He knew Katsuki couldn't say You strangled me a few days ago in front of these extras and Deku as it would wound his pride. Really, now, how was this freakin nerd idiot even close friends with such a dangerous guy?
Grey's smile changed to a sweet one as he looked over his shoulder to Izumi, handing her yellow bag to her. "Should we get going, now?"
She nodded. "Yeah," she forced a smile as she looked at them. "I'll see you guys soon, then. Thanks for waiting for me this late, I really appreciate it...Bye."
"Wha?" Katsuki growled. "Wait a—Oommpphh!" His last word got muffled when Grey swiftly slapped a piece of duct tape over his mouth.
Where the hell did he get that from?!
He smirked, putting an arm around Izumi's neck as he snapped his fingers. "See ya!"
They were gone in a flash.
Pissed and infuriated, Katsuki ripped the tape off his mouth and growled, not caring about the stinging sensation it left on his skin. "He's gonna die. That f**king tanned skin asshole is gonna die!"
Kirishima just blinked and questioned what had just happened. Todoroki, on the other hand compared to Katsuki, was amused. Although it was a bit of a disappointment he didn't get to know about Izumi or Grey, he had his doubts cleared about Grey.
The boy was dangerous and unpredictable unless Izumi was around. He was also capable of handling Katsuki in some way, too. If he got into u.a through recommendations, and if the principal trusted Grey and allowed him to study here despite his background.
Then everything should be fine
Knowing this, Todoroki didn't feel the need to talk to the tanned skin boy anymore. However… his interest seemed to have been switched and more focused on to Izumi this time...
