Chapter 6

A couple of days later, Ed made his way back into camp after finishing up in town carrying a nice bottle of scotch. The quick job he had picked up had paid enough in cash to cover the repairs of his automail and replace his clothing, but the client couldn't pay much more so he had offered the bottle as part of the payment. Normally Fullmetal didn't negotiate, but the scotch had sounded amazing. It definitely had nothing to do with the fact that he knew the drink was a favorite of a certain Colonel. Definitely not.

"Hey Allen," Lieutenant Havoc greeted as Ed approached the group of tents where his unit currently resided.

"Hey Havoc! I'm surprised to see you here. Not spending your time off in town this time?" Ed responded brightly.

"Well..." Havoc scratched his neck, "I may have pissed someone off last time I was there. Thought I'd avoid it for awhile you know?" He chuckled.

"Let me guess, the husband came home?" a new voice added and they both turned to find Roy approaching the small gathering area they were in. Havoc blushed and mumbled his assent which caused Ed to start laughing.

"Shut up Allen! What would you know about it anyway?" Havoc grumbled.

"Stick to the brothels man. Much safer. Trust me," Ed answered, still chuckling as he took a seat on a nearby chair. Havoc gaped, having assumed the younger man wouldn't have experience with these types of things. "Now, who wants a drink?" the blonde grinned as he held up the scotch.

"Why not," the Colonel shrugged as he moved to take a seat beside the younger man.

Havoc, having finally snapped out of his shock, quickly moved to grab some cups for them and handed them out. He was grateful for the subject change, but he couldn't help but cast curious glances at the blonde alchemist throughout the night. When the sun started to set a few more of their unit returned from their trips into town.

"Hey! Fuery, Breda, come join us!" Ed called out as he held up the slightly less full bottle. As he smiled at the other members of his unit he suddenly realized that the smile isn't as forced as it normally feels. The realization is startling, but he doesn't let it show that he's bothered as he pours two more cups.

Spending to much time with these people must be messing with his head. No matter what he can't let himself forget that if they knew who he truly was they would hate him. So many of the things he has created and sold in the Slums have been used against these people. It was highly probable that at least one person near him knew someone who had been injured or killed by one of his bombs. No matter how nice these people seemed now, Ed knew he would have to make sure never to forget who he really was.

A few hours after full dark, when the firelight started to die down everyone stood, albeit a little shakily, and headed to bed. Everyone except for Ed and Roy, that is. Ed felt much drunker than he has been in a very long time. Glancing to his right he could see that the Colonel wasn't much better off.

"Roy?" Ed questioned before he could think to stop himself. A grunted "hmm?" is his only response. "Have you ever done undercover work?"

"What? Like on missions?" Roy asked, curious as to why Allen wanted to know. The blonde nodded. "Yeah. A couple times. Why?"

"Have you...were you ever..caught?"

"...the last time I did it, yeah. One person figured me out."

"What happened?"

"Well...in order to get out without anyone else finding out...I had to kill the person. That's why I haven't taken any more of those types of missions. It...wasn't something I wanted to do...ever again," Roy admitted, refusing to meet the younger man's eye.

Shit, Ed's alcohol hazed mind thought. I really really hope I don't have to kill him. If anyone were to figure me out it'd be him. Fuck. Why did I think joining the military was a good idea again?

"I much prefer being the boss of people anyway, so it worked out," Roy smirked as he started to steer the conversation in a much more pleasant direction.

"Yeah, you totally give off a sadist vibe," Ed responded without missing a beat and Roy nearly choked on his sip of scotch.

"Is that so?" Roy asked with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. "I suppose you'd be into that with the 'innocent' facade you project then huh?" It was Ed's turn to blush.

"Well, if that's just a facade, who knows what I'm actually into. I could be into grumpy, old men who like scotch for all you know," Ed remarked, hiding his growing blush behind another sip of scotch from his cup. Roy had turned to face him and was watching him intently.

"I'm not old."

"Who said I was talking about you?" Ed quirked an eyebrow and Roy didn't seem to know what to say. "...but, since you meet two of my three requirements at least..." Ed set his cup down before standing and leaning over to whisper into the raven-haired man's ear "...why don't you come to my tent?"

Without waiting for a response, the blonde turned and began walking toward his tent near the outskirts of their units' group and slightly apart from the others. He made sure to wiggle his hips more than usual as he walked and bent unnecessarily low to open the flap of his tent before ducking inside. Ed smirked when the flap of his tent lifted again less than a minute later as the Colonel entered.

A low burning lantern in one corner of the tent cast just enough light that they could see each other, but not enough that any silhouettes would be able to be seen from the outside. Ed sat on his blankets and pulled his boots off, slowly followed by the rest of his clothing. Roy quietly sat beside him and began removing his own clothing as well. He couldn't help but notice the blonde's automail limbs, now fully exposed. A fleeting thought crossed his mind to ask about them again, but left just as quickly when the younger man moved to straddle him once they were fully unclothed.

"Shit..." Roy hissed as their skin made contact. "I've wanted this for so long." His hands quickly found the younger man's hips as the blonde's hands grabbed his face to pull him in for a searing kiss. He marveled at the softness of the pale skin beneath his fingers. While the skin was soft, the muscle beneath certainly wasn't and Roy groaned as those muscles flexed to roll hips against his own.

As much as he might enjoy being ridden by the blonde, Roy decided it was time to switch up their positions and in one swift movement Allen was splayed out on the blankets beneath him. Roy rolled his hips down onto the younger man and they both moaned as their cocks rubbed against each other. The blonde's flesh hand reached up to grip his hair and pull him in for a kiss while the automail hand fisted itself in the pillow beneath the younger man's head.

Roy allowed his own hands to wander over the body beneath him. He mapped a path over Allen's chest, sides and sculpted abs, slowly moving down toward his goal. Swallowing the gasps and moans the younger man was making only drove Roy to move faster and he broke their kiss long enough to slick his own fingers by sucking on them. The blonde groaned at the sight and spread his legs a little further, giving Roy easier access for what was about to happen.

"Shit," Ed hissed when the first finger pushed into him. It had been a very long time since he slept with a man, but whenever he had in the past, he had been the one in charge. Being the bottom would be a first for him. To avoid the embarrassed blush that threatened to break out, Ed tried not to think about that and instead focused on the slight burn and the stretch of Roy's finger moving inside of him. When he felt himself start to relax, a second finger worked its way inside and he moaned, reaching out to pull Roy's mouth back to his own.

With the third finger, Roy finally found his prostate and Ed broke the kiss to gasp, desperately trying not to release any louder sounds for fear of their neighbors hearing. The Colonel seemed to focus on that spot once he'd found it and he covered Ed's mouth with his own again to swallow those delicious sounds the younger man was trying so hard to keep quiet.

"Ngh...please," Ed gasped against the older man's mouth. "Do it now."

Roy sat up for a moment to spit into his hand and slick his length before lining himself up with the blonde's entrance. He slowly pushed the head in and watched as the blonde covered his mouth with his flesh hand. Gently, he continued to push in just a little at a time, sensing that this may be the younger man's first time. When half of his length was buried in the tight heat around him, the blonde surprised him by using his legs to grip the raven-haired man's hips and pull, fully sheathing him in one swift move.

"Fuck," Roy hissed, trying to keep his hips still for a moment as he laid himself back down over the smaller man, leaning his weight on his elbows.

"Please move," Ed nearly whined before capturing Roy's lips once again in a heated kiss.

Roy began to move, slowly at first, but once he felt sure the younger man wasn't in any pain he picked up his pace. They broke their kiss, panting and gasping as they got closer to their end. Both were fighting not to make louder noises. When the blonde felt his climax crash into him, he bit down on the older man's shoulder to prevent the scream from bubbling out of his throat. As the sticky fluid coated their abdomens Roy's hips stuttered and he thrust a couple more times, trying to reach as deep as possible.

"Allen," he panted as he released deep inside of the younger man, holding himself there until he was fully spent. He was almost disappointed when he finally pulled out, not quite wanting it to be over. It was at that moment that he realized...he was falling in love with Allen Hughes. Suddenly he couldn't tell if he wanted to get far away from this tent to collect his thoughts or if he wanted to say something...talk about this how situation with the younger man.

"You should probably go...in case someone heard something," the blonde stated suddenly. It was hard to tell in the darkness, but it seemed to Roy like the younger man was avoiding looking at him. He decided not to think to hard about it because what he was saying made sense.

"Yeah, you're right. I'll see you at breakfast?" Roy asked while quickly pulling his clothes back on.

"Maybe. I have to run into town so I'll probably leave pretty early."

"Okay. Well, see you later then," Roy muttered, quickly dressing before slipping outside. He checked to make sure no one was around at first, and then made his way to his own tent.

"Fuck," Ed silently fumed when he was alone once more. "Why did I do that?!" He couldn't believe how stupid he had been. The idiocy of his actions hadn't fully hit him until Roy groaned that name at the time of his climax...his fake name...the name he was using to hide his true identity from the military...the true identity being that of a wanted criminal who would most likely be immediately executed for his actions should he ever be caught. "Fuck," he grumbled one last time before rolling over and attempting to sleep.

Sleep hadn't come easy and after a few hours of tossing, turning, and frequently interrupted light drowsing, Ed rolled out of his blankets and dressed. Gathering what he would need for the day, Ed left his tent long before anyone else would be waking for breakfast and began the walk to town. There wasn't really a lot he needed to do, but he couldn't just wait around in camp and he wasn't really in a hurry to speak to the Colonel.

If nothing else, Ed supposed, he could check in with the seeker he had hired and then possibly do another job or two. Using his hands and mind for something alchemical or science related would be a great distraction and keep him out of his own thoughts for a few hours at least.

When he arrived in town the first thing he did was get some food at a local bar that was open 24-7. Ed wasn't sure if they had always been open those hours, or if they just started doing it once the military had set up camp nearby, but he was grateful. It meant he could grab some breakfast and a cup or two of coffee before going about his business.

After eating, Ed used the back alleys and hidden entrance to enter the brothel. He asked the owner for a basement room and watched her nod in understanding before disappearing through a doorway to the back. Asking about the basement was this establishments code for people like him who wished to use this place as a cover for specific types of meetings. Since this woman recognized him he didn't need to specify who he needed to meet with.

"Right this way sir," the woman requested as she came out from the back and motioned him to follow her toward the stairs. She led him up to the first floor and brought him to a room at the very back. The room was small, but had large windows and there was a tree outside. The tree was easily within jumping distance of the window and would make for a quick getaway if needed. He nodded in satisfaction and the woman left. Ed didn't have to wait long before there was a soft tap on the door and it opened just enough for a small woman to slip inside and then it was being closed and locked.

"Hello...Fullmetal," she greeted in a soft, pleasant manner.

"Hello," he acknowledged coolly. "You know why I'm here."

"Awe...when you set up this meeting place I sorta got my hopes up. Oh well...perhaps I'm just not your type," she pouted and Fullmetal glared, patience wearing thin. "Yes, yes. I'll get on with it. So...Bradley. He's a strange man. Very difficult to get close to. When he isn't at home with his family or in that military camp that you seem to have infiltrated so well..." she paused and Fullmetal continued to glare, "...he likes to have secret meetings with a lot of people."

"What kind of people?"

"People who he clearly doesn't want to be seen with. I haven't been able to identify most of them. One man, however, was a foreign dignitary from a certain country that we aren't exactly getting along with right now," the woman smiled deviously.

"Anything else?" Fullmetal demanded, tired of the woman's attitude.

"No. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get close enough to overhear the meetings yet. I was able to see the face of one of the other men, but I'm still working on identifying him..." she sighed. "Perhaps this would be easier if I had some additional incentive?" Her smile was now seductive and she bit her lower lip as she looked him up and down.

"Heh," Fullmetal scoffed. "Sure," he agreed before a thin blade dropped into his hand from his sleeve and he was suddenly standing behind her, the cold metal held lightly against her neck. "Does this do it for you?"

"Ahh hahaha," she laughed, breathless. "Yes." This time she grinned, lifting his hand away from her throat to lick the flat of the blade. "To be threatened directly by Fullmetal and get to walk away is almost as sweet as it would be to be beneath you on that bed over there."

Ed dropped his hand back to his side once she let go and watched her walk out of the room. He carefully hid the knife back into his sleeve, waited until he knew she was long gone and then left the room, exiting the building the same way he had come in. As he walked, he plotted how to kill the woman once her task was done. She was right, most people he threatened didn't get to walk away and to let her live would be saying that he was getting soft, weaker. Fullmetal could not allow that.

After completing a few odd jobs his contact was able to gather on such short notice, Ed finally made his way back towards camp. It was starting to get dark now and would be close to full dark by the time he made it back. That was fine with him as it meant he could duck into his tent with the excuse of being tired if anyone asked. The one person he was hoping to avoid most right now, unfortunately stopped him before he could reach the relative safety of his tent.

"Allen. We need to talk," Roy stated, quietly enough not to draw attention, but with a tone that suggested it wasn't a request. Ed sighed, but nodded and followed the raven-haired man away from camp.
