Hermione hurried to catch up to Professor Snape. "Professor, my mums-"
"If you truly cared about worrying them," he said silkily, "you would have stayed in the Hospital Wing. They know you are with me. Come." he held out an elbow, beckoning for her to take it. "You lost quite a bit of blood in my classroom. Allow me to help you."
Hermione hadn't realized how shaky she was and quickly accepted his elbow, leaning into him. Professor Snape looked down at the girl and rolled his eyes before simply scooping her up. Hermione tried to protest but he stopped her.
"At the rate you're going, it would be dinner by the time we got to the castle. You're weak and shaking. I will carry you."
Hermione grudgingly allowed herself to be carried into the castle and deposited onto a chair in the potions classroom. Snape dropped himself onto the desk in front of her.
"So," he sneered, "the Gryffindor princess thought she would just walk off the school grounds?"
"What? No!"
"Don't lie to me girl!"
"I'm not lying!" Hermione stood up, only for Snape to push her back into the chair.
"I said don't lie," he snarled, "I am tired of chasing after students who insist on endangering themselves. And that stunt you pulled in my classroom earlier. You stooped low to simply get out of class."
"Stunt?! I lost my baby-"
"Don't. Lie." he grasped her chin roughly and forced her to look at him. "You took some joke treat from the Weasley monsters. What was it?" He shook her face, "A nosebleed nougat variant?"
"No!" she gasped, "please I'm not lying!"
"Miss Granger, you have earned detentions through the end of next term. Keep up this ridiculous charade and the consequences will be most...dire."
"Please professor you have to believe me!"
"Miss Granger, do refrain from telling me what I have to do. Now, you can tell me the truth, or we can go to the headmaster's office."
"You can call my mom's! They'll tell you!"
"That is it." Professor Snape stood and roughly pulled Hermione up from the chair. "It's time for us to go."
