HAZEL POV
After they had (somehow) managed to get Percy down from the tree, they made their way to the dining pavilion. The conch horn had blown a few minutes ago, and they didn't want to be too late. Plus, if Percy's stomach was anything to go by, he was hungry.
"Where are we going?" he asks, now as Hazel grips his hand, not wanting him to get lost again
"To eat."
"Oooh, yay," he says dancing. Hazel can't help but giggle.
"Yeah," Frank says, "We have magic plates,"
Percy stops walking, completely frozen. His eyes widen and he whispers, "Magic plateth?" His lisp from his missing teeth, apparent.
Frank, who looks like he's trying very hard not to laugh, nods.
"Yeah. Magic plates."
They end up at the Poseidon table without too much trouble, and Hazel sits down next to Frank and Percy, who still hasn't let go of her hand. He's bouncing in his seat, literally vibrating. The rest of the seven, she's surprised to see, are sitting there, too. The other campers are pretty quiet, watching them. Which, she supposes, is pretty understandable seeing as the hero of Olympus was a six-year-old.
(I'm just going to type his dialogue as normal, but he has a lisp, okay ? my little sister had a lisp when she lost her teeth and it was so cute, so I kind of got that idea for this)
"Monkey said there were magic plates, is there really? And how are they magic? Do they fly? Can they turn into food?"
Leo snorts, "Monkey?" but before Frank can answer, Percy's eyes widen again, and he gasps.
"Can you eat them?"
That's it. Hazel can't hold it and she starts giggling. But once she starts, Percy does too. And that leads to everyone else laughing.
Finally, Percy calms down enough to ask, "Why are we laughing?" which sets them off again.
As 'Monkey' explains how the magic plates work, Annabeth tells them about the cure.
"Chiron thinks he's figured it out, but he said we need to be wary because Medea's magic shouldn't be tampered with. There could be other effects we don't know about,"
Hazel nods, "I just hope nothing happens,"
"Uh, you mean like him being lost again?" Frank asks, nervously.
"Are you serious?" Thalia asks.
"Um...no?"
Annabeth's face palms until we hear a giggle coming from the Aphrodite table.
"Uh-oh" Piper mutters, "I've been trying to keep him away from my siblings because...well," she gestures toward them.
Somehow, in the less-than-two-minutes Percy has been there, he has acquired a flower crown and pink nails. Piper sighs, and walks over there.
"C'mon, Perce," we hear, "You gotta eat,"
"But, Piper!" Lacy protests
"Yeah, but Piper!" Percy copies, receiving more laughs and giggles.
"He's soooo cute,"
"I don't care. He has to eat," She holds out her hand, "C'mon, Perce" she repeats
Percy nods, grabbing her hand, skipping back over.
"How do you get lost so quickly?" Annabeth asks him. Hazel's pretty sure she does more out of exasperation than anything, but Percy smiles and says
"I dunno," really shyly.
"Awww," Hazel says. There's a loud bang, and Percy jumps, looking toward the noise. In the doorway is a satyr with a green hat on.
"Grover!" Annabeth says, grinning. She stands up, giving him a hug, "It's been a while."
Grover looks like he's out of breath, "Yeah. I came...weird...empathy link," then he stops, seemingly noticing Percy for the first time.
"Oh. My. Gods" He blinks at him.
Percy lets out a laugh, "He has hooves!" he exclaims.
Grover grins, "He's so cute," he says, looking at Annabeth. She nods
"Yeah, Chiron thinks he's found a cure, but he's not sure, we're gonna give it to him after he's done eating,"
"I am done," he says, "I'm waiting on you,"
Hazel looks at his plate. Sure enough, it's empty.
"Yeah, Annabeth," Leo says, "He's waiting on you"
She sticks her tongue out but goes to sit back down, regardless.
After everyone finished eating, Chiron had us all meet back with Percy on the Big House porch. Grover joined us.
"Okay, Percy, all you have to do is drink this," he says, handing Percy a bottle with Purple liquid in it.
"Okay!" he says, before smelling it. He makes a face, "It smells weird."
"You know what you do when that happens?" Hazel asks. He shakes his head.
"Stay right here," She jogs into the Big House, getting a bottle like his and pouring milk in it. She grabs purple food coloring, adding that in and stirring it until it looks like Percy's.
She runs back out onto the porch, ignoring the confused faces she was getting.
"Oh," Annabeth mutters, seeing the glass.
"Okay, ready? We drink at the same time," Percy nods, thinking Hazel was drinking the same thing, "One, two, three"
They both drink it, and Hazel makes sure to pull the same face Percy does.
"Okay," Jason says, smiling, "Guess what?"
"What?" Percy asks, smiling
"Bed time!" he said this like somebody else would say trampoline.
Percy frowns, "That doesn't sound like fun"
"You get your own room," Hazel singsongs.
Percy's eyes brighten, "Really?"
She nods, grinning.
After she gets him to lay down, they're all lounging in the Big House.
"What now?" asks Piper
"Now, we wait,"
