Chapter 13: Elias V.S. Corrupted Lindel
The Team battles against the Spell-Breaker as well as their corrupted friends. This chapter will mainly focus on a fight between Elias versus Lindel. The next chapter will focus on Silky versus Angelica. The chapter after that will focus on Joseph versus Simon. The chapter after that will focus on Chise/Ruth battling the army as well as Chise versus the Spell-Breaker.
As the Spell-Breaker's army ran at the team, they decided to come up with a plan to attack each of the members of the Spell-Breaker's army.
"We cannot take them all at once together. I suggest we split up. I will take Lindel." Elias said.
"I got Simon." Joseph said.
"I will take on Angelica." Silky said.
"Me and Ruth will deal with the army." Chise said.
With that, they all ran to their targets. Elias ran towards Lindel and as they got very close to each other, Lindel fired a blast of lighting from his fingers at Elias. Elias was shocked at this because he never remembered Lindel having the ability to use lightning magic. Elias was hit with the lightning and was shortly electrocuted. ELias shook it off quickly and had a stand off with Lindel as they looked at each other.
"Oh Lindel, what have they done to you?" Elias asked as he laid eyes on his fallen master.
"They have perfected me, Ainsworth. I am now stronger than ever! I've become more powerful than anyone, even you!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as started to shock Elias using lightning magic.
Elias tried to block the lightning but it was pointless as Elias was hit with powerful lightning and was electrocuted all over his body. After being electrocuted, Elias fell to his knee and panted hard as steam rose form his body.
"(Pant, pant) This lightning... when did you learn this? You never knew lightning magic." Elias stated as he stood back up.
"You're right Ainsworth, I never knew lightning magic before. It is a gift from Cartaphilus. And I am not the only one. Cartaphilus gave all of us new powers, even those of us who couldn't use magic in the first place, like Simon." Corrupted Lindel explained.
"Don't you see, you are nothing but a puppet now. Is this really what you want, Lindel?" Elias asked.
"It suits me, Ainsworth. Now, allow me to kill you, so you can join us." Corrupted Lindel said.
"Lindel, I always wondered if one day I would surpass you, as a student would one day surpass his master, but this is not the way I wanted it to go." Elias said.
"And since when did you ever consider me as your master, Ainsworth? If I remember correctly, you didn't even want to be my apprentice; Let alone accept me as your master." Corrupted Lindel said.
"You're right, when we first met, I wanted nothing to do with you. But as time went on, I grew to respect you as a master, as a teacher, and as my best friend at the time." Elias said.
"Very nice, Ainsworth. Let me ask you something, does it look like I give a fuck?" Corrupted Lindel asked.
"Maybe not, but I do know this; the real Lindel was more caring. And I know for a fact, that the real Lindel would never want to be Cartaphilus's puppet. Before, you used to care about me, and now you want nothing more than to kill me." Elias said.
"Oh, it's not you who I really want to kill, Ainsworth. It's that bitch, Chise." Corrupted Lindel said.
"What? Why Chise? I thought she was like a great granddaughter to you." Elias said.
"She WAS, but that was before the Spell-Breaker made me realize something. I realized that Chise is the reason I am dead." Corrupted Lindel said.
"That is not true! Chise is not the one who killed you!" Elias yelled.
"But SHE is the cause of my death! If Chise hadn't made my master suffer, I would still be alive!" Corrupted Lindel yelled.
"Whatever Chise may have done to the Spell-Breaker does not mean she is responsible for your death! You and I both know that!" Elias yelled.
"ENOUGH! I've had it! What do you say we have one more match, for old times sake?" Corrupted Lindel asked.
"I don't want to do this, Lindel. But you're leaving me no choice." Elias said as he held up his wand.
"(Evil Laugh) THEN DIE!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he ran at Elias.

As Lindel ran at Elias, he blasted another barrage of lighting at Elias, but Elias was prepared as he used his magic to summon thorns from the ground and used them to shield him from Lindel's attack by surrounding himself with the thorns. Lindel ceased his lightning and waited for Elias to lower his thorn defense. Once Elias lowered his thorn shield, he stared at Lindel for a few moments.
"(Chuckle) What's wrong, Ainsworth? Too afraid to hurt me?" Corrupted Lindel asked.
Elias said nothing as he lunged at Lindel, swinging his wand trying to hit him. Lindel dodged and weaved out of the way, avoiding all of Elias's swings. Lindel chuckled and then muttered some words. Once he was finished, his fists were surrounded by a large flow of lightning.
"What is that?" Elias asked.
"(Chuckle) LIGHTNING FISTS!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he ran at Elias and started punching him hard.
Elias had no time to block or dodge the attack as Lindel was much faster than he was before. Elias felt great pain as Lindel repeatedly punched him with his new lightning fists. Lindel meanwhile was enjoying every second of this fight. After Lindel uppercutted Elias, Elias managed to regain his composure and grabbed Lindel by the wrists. Elias then tossed Lindel over his shoulder. This did not phase Lindel, as he just recovered midair and blasted Elias with more lightning. As soon as Lindel landed behind Elias, Elias used his magic to wrap a bunch of thorns around Lindel. Lindel yelled in pain as he felt the thorns pierce his flesh. Elias walked up to the struggling Lindel and held his wand up against his neck.
"This is your last chance, cease the fighting and surrender to me, or else I will have to use lethal force." Elias said.
"Oh please, you of all people should know, I am not afraid of you. Your threats do not scare me in the slightest." Corrupted Lindel said as he somehow suddenly burst out of the thorns wrapped around his whole body.
Once Lindel was free he blasted two large beams of lightning at Elias. Elias countered the attack by blasting a bunch of thorns from his hands. Their attacks collided and both struggled to overpower the other. After a few moments, they both canceled their attack. Lindel stepped back and held up his fists.
"Lightning fists!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he activated his lightning fists and ran towards Elias.
"You want to go for a close range fight. Very well." Elias said as he put his wand away using magic. "Thorn fists!" Elias yelled as he used his magic to surround his fists with a flow of thorns.
Elias and Lindel began to punch each other with their magic fists. Neither could land a single punch on the other as their fists kept colliding. Elias noticed that Lindel was definitely a lot stronger that he used to be. Lindel did not hold back against Elias one bit. Eventually, Elias jumped back away from Lindel and switched to using his wand to attack Lindel. Lindel was very agile though, so no matter how much Elias swung at Lindel, Lindel avoided taking any damage. Lindel ducked, weaved, and even back flipped over Elias's attacks. Lindel thought of a plan an ran towards a nearby tree. Elias quickly chased after him. Lindel made it to the tree and hid behind. Elias wasted no time cutting the tree down, but as he did this, Lindel jumped from behind the tree and blasted a ball of fire right at Elias. Elias was not prepared for that, so he was hit in the chest by the fire ball. Elias fell down as he clutched his chest in pain from the burning. Elias knew Lindel had fire magic, but it seemed more powerful, no doubt it was another gift from Cartaphilus.
"(Evil Chuckle) What's the matter Ainsworth, can't stand a little burn?" Corrupted Lindel asked.
"Is this new strength and power of yours worth your freedom, Lindel!?" Elias asked.
"Of course! You'd have to be a complete idiot to refuse the power Cartaphilus gave me." Corrupted Lindel said.
"You're nothing but a puppet for Cartaphilus to use as he pleases! Damn it Lindel, why do you not understand!?" Elias yelled as he tried desperately to make Lindel come to his senses, but it was pointless.
"Oh, I understand perfectly, Ainsworth. NOW BURN!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he fired a wave of fire down on Elias.
Elias screamed in pain as he was being burned. Lindel meanwhile was laughing maniacally as he burned Elias. After Lindel burned Elias for a few minutes, he stopped as Elias went limp. Lindel chuckled as he walked over to Elias's body. Unbeknownst to Lindel, Elias was faking to be dead and was waiting for Lindel to come closer. Once Lindel was close enough, Elias grabbed Lindel by the throat and then stood back up. Elias then started choking Lindel as he held him up in the air. Elias then began to punch him in the stomach. After being punched a few times, Lindel used his magic to surround his whole body with electricity, shocking Elias's hand, causing him to drop Lindel. While Elias was temporarily paralyzed, Lindel jumped on top of Elias and pulled out a knife and jabbed his knife into Elias's chest. Elias yelled in pain as he tried to yank Lindel off his back. Lindel wrapped his arms around Elias's throat, choking him. Elias desperately tried to pull Lindel off of him, but Lindel had a tight grip. Elias then ran backwards and slammed himself against a tree, smashing Lindel as well. Lindel yelled in pain as he was smashed against the tree, causing him to fall off Elias's back. Elias then kicked Lindel and sent him flying into another tree.
Lindel got back up to his feet and struggled to stay standing due to the great amount of pain. Seeing his chance, Elias summoned thorns from the ground and sent them flying at Lindel. Lindel smiled and then held out his hands in a stopping motion.
"BARRIER!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as a magical barrier appeared in front of him, protecting him from the thorns.
"I see you still have that old trick up your sleeve." Elias said.
"I'm glad you remember, Ainsworth. I've got more in store for you!" Corrupted Lindel said as he held up his hands in the air. "Now, Ainsworth, witness the power of the Caretaker of The Dragons' Aerie!" Corrupted Lindel said as all of a sudden bright blue magic began to form around his hands.
"What? No. It can't be." Elias said as he saw the magic blue light around Lindel's hands had formed into the shape of a dragon's head, one on each of Lindel's hands.
"Yes, Ainsworth, this is the power that was given to me when I was given the role of Caretaker." Corrupted Lindel said as the dragons on his hands eyes glowed red.
"Lindel, every time we fought with each other, you always came out on top. But this time, I will defeat you! I will finally best my master! I WILL STOP YOU!" Elias yelled as he activated his thorn fists.
"We shall see, DRAGON FISTS!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he ran at Elias with great speed.
Elias had no time to dodge so he was hit in the stomach by Lindel's Dragon Fists. Elias went flying and landed on the ground hard. Elias got back to his feet and unleashed his thorn attack by sending a bunch of thorns at Lindel. Before the thorns could reach Lindel, Lindel unleashed his next attack.
"Dragon's Scream!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he screamed at the thorns heading toward him.
From Lindel's mouth, giant airwaves came out and the scream was so loud and strong that it stopped Elias's attack. The scream kept going and hit Elias. Elias was prepared for this however as he jammed his fists down into the ground and summoned a bunch of thorns to hold him down and prevent him from being thrown back by the scream. Once the scream was over, Elias sent a bunch of thorns from his hand at Lindel like a rope. Lindel tried to avoid the attack, but Elias's thorns managed to wrap around Lindel. Elias made sure the thorns did not pierce Lindel. Elias yanked back and pulled Lindel towards him hard. Once Lindel was at the right distance, Elias punched Lindel in the gut and then with that same punch he nailed Lindel with, tossed him into a tree. Lindel got back up and then blasted lightning at Elias. Elias countered the attack with his barrage of thorns. After a few moments of the attacks colliding with each other, there was a mini explosion as the attacks canceled each other out. Seeing the smoke creating shadows on the ground connecting Elias and Lindel, Elias dove into the shadow and made his way to Lindel. Once Elias was behind Lindel in his shadow, he jumped out and used his thorn fists to punch Lindel twice in the back. Lindel yelled in pain but had no time to do anything as Elias then turned him around, grabbed him by the throat and then choke slammed him to the ground.
With Lindel pinned to the ground, Elias attempted to choke Lindel until he was knocked out. Lindel was not going to let this happen so he grabbed Elias's arm and then electrocuted him with his lightning. Due to the immense pain, Elias lost his grip on Lindel. With Elias's hand off of his throat, Lindel activated his lightning fists and punched Elias repeatedly in the stomach. Eventually, Elias back flipped out of Lindel's attack and dove back into another shadow.
"Ha! You think you're safe in the shadows, Ainsworth!? Think again! BRIGHT FLASH!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he unleashed a burst of bright light out of his whole body.
The light Lindel emitted was so bright that it erased the shadows from the ground. As soon as the shadows were removed, Elias was launched out of the ground. As soon as Elias was in the air, Lindel jumped up in the air and was right above Elias. Lindel then used his dragon's scream to force Elias to hit the ground hard. Lindel landed beside him and then began to electrocute Elias with his lightning. Elias tried to crawl away, but the lightning was almost freezing him in place. Lindel laughed as he watched Elias struggle to move. Elias looked down and saw the shadows were back, so he dove into the shadows on the ground. Lindel was about to unleash his bright flash attack, but then from his shadow below him, Elias came out and uppercutted Lindel. Lindel landed on the ground quickly and recovered quickly as he blasted lighting at Elias. Elias countered with his barrage of thorns. After the attacks canceled each other again, Elias took out his wand and ran at Lindel. As Elias was running to Lindel, Lindel was preparing to unleash his next dragon attack. Lindel began forming a ball of air with his hands. Elias stopped dead in his tracks as he realized what attack Lindel was about to unleash. The ball of air between Lindel's hand suddenly glowed a bright blue color and Lindel looked back up to Elias and grinned.
"DRAGON PULSE!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he sent the attack flying at Elias.
Elias remembered how Lindel told him that Dragon Pulse was an attack that could not be countered or cancelled by any other attack. He also remembered that Lindel said something about how either blocking or dodging this attack was the only way to not get hurt. Elias put his wand away and then held up his arms in a cross formation to block the attack. A few seconds later the attack hit Elias, but ELias managed to block the attack from hitting him in the chest, as the attack was capable of disrupting the nerves, even causing brain damage, to the body. However, the dragon pulse was still going, almost pushing Elias back as he was blocking the attack.
"Have you forgotten what I told you, Ainsworth? Yes blocking and dodging does work, but blocking only has a 50% chance of working. Tough luck, Ainsworth." Corrupted Lindel said as the dragon pulse exploded right in front of Elias.
Lindel laughed as the dragon pulse exploded. As the smoke dispersed, Lindel expected to see Elias blasted away but when the smoke cleared, he saw that Elias was still standing in place, his arms still in blocking position. Right before the blast, Elias had used his thorns to wrap around his legs and dig into the ground, preventing him from being sent back by the impact of the blast. Elias felt great pain in his arms, almost as if his arms were burned or stabbed with 1,000 needles at once. Elias turned his arms and looked at them to see the damage. The lower sleeves and the cuffs of his robe was completely burned off. Elias's flesh was also badly burned and scarred. It was so bad that Elias could even see the whites of the bones in his arms. Elias lowered his arms and panted heavily as he looked at Lindel.
"How!? How are you still standing you old bastard!?" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he ran his hands through his hair angrily. "Even though my Dragon Pulse didn't hit you directly, you still should have taken 50% of the damage the Dragon Pulse is capable of delivering!" Corrupted Lindel yelled.
"Lindel... I told you already a long time ago, it is going to take more than your silly dragon attacks to defeat me." Elias said.
Lindel yelled angrily and then held out his right hand and then lighting formed around his hand. Elias assumed Lindel was going to use his lightning fist, but then he noticed something. The lightning that was forming on Lindel's right hand was morphing into a blade-like shape of lighting.
"Lightning Blade!" Corrupted Lindel said as he charged at Elias with a blade of lighting in his right hand.
Seeing Lindel running at him, Elias ignored the pain in his arms and took out his wand and charged at Lindel as well. Elias and Lindel began clashing their weapons together. Elias swung his wand down at Lindel but Lindel blocked the wand with his lightning blade. Lindel jabbed at Elias, but Elias sidestepped out of the way and then hit Lindel's back. Lindel yelled in pain as the sharp part of Elias's wand slashed his back. Elias tried to grab Lindel by the throat again, but Lindel ducked out of the way and then slashed Elias across the chest with his lighting blade. Elias stumbled back as he felt like waves of electricity was flowing into his veins. With Elias stunned, Lindel deactivated his lightning blade and switched to his dragon fists as he began punching Elias in the face, knocking out a few of Elias's teeth while at it. Once Elias was back in focus, Elias opened his mouth and bit down on Lindel's left hand. Lindel screamed as Elias began to chomp down on his hand. Lindel began hitting Elias's face to try and get him to let go of his hand. Elias then with all his might yanked Lindel's hand so hard, that he actually ripped Lindel's left arm off. Lindel screamed loudly as his arm was ripped off. Elias did not stop there as he slapped Lindel across the face to stun him. With Lindel stunned, Elias grabbed ahold of Lindel's right arm and then with one good pull, tore it off completely. Lindel screamed after losing his other arm and fell to floor, blood spewing out of where his arms were ripped off.
"AAARRGHH! FUCK YOU, ELIAS! FUCK YOU, FUCK YOU!" Corrupted Lindel yelled as he was squirming around.
"I am sorry, Lindel. I didn't want to do it, but you left me no choice in the matter." Elias said as he looked down at Lindel. "I will not let you die. Here, this will prevent you from bleeding out." Elias said as he knelt down beside Lindel.
Elias then performed a spell on Lindel that stopped the flow of blood to Lindel's arms. Once the spell was finished, the open wounds where Lindel's arms were ripped off were sealed off with flesh. This caused Lindel great pain. He tried to get up to hit Elias but without his arms, it was impossible.
"FUCK! YOU LISTEN TO ME YOU BASTARD! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU! YOU'RE DEAD THE NEXT TIME WE MEET! AND CHISE WILL FUCKING DIE! YOU HEAR ME!?" Corrupted Lindel yelled.
"Don't worry Lindel. I promise, I will find a way to save you; to bring you back. I don't want you to stay like this, and I'm sure deep down you don't want to either." Elias said.
"YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET NOT KILLING ME RIGHT NOW, ELIAS! JUST YOU WAIT! WHEN I'M ALL HEALED UP, I WILL KILL YOU!" Corrupted Lindel yelled.
Elias decided enough was enough and he punched Lindel so hard in the face that he was knocked out. After Lindel was unconscious, Elias looked over and saw Chise and Ruth fighting against the Spell-Breaker's army. Elias then got up and looked back down to Lindel.
"Goodbye for now, Lindel. I must aid Chise and Ruth in battle." Elias said as he ran over to where Chise and Ruth were battling the army.
