JustAnotherFanGirl2004: We really don't know much about Chad, but he'll become a main character in this story because he's Lori's brother, and I have so much character development planned for him!
I have nearly finished writing this entire story! It'll take a while for it all to be published, but I'm nearly done!
. . .
Cotillion came, and I was excited. I was wearing a pale blue dress that came to the floor, but like my Coronation dress had a tearaway skirt bottom. The dress had black flowers around the collar and off the shoulder sleeves. It came in at the waist and had faint streaks of dark blue and black in the skirt, which matched with my wavy and loose hair. Aziz arrived to pick me up, and we went there together. And Emma was going with Alan - son of Ariel and Eric - something which I have repeatedly shouted, "I called it!" about.
Anyways, since the boat was set to leave around eight and it was seven forty-five, I decided to drag Aziz there. The docks are very close to the school, so when I grabbed his hand and pulled him along, he didn't complain, instead chuckling a little and we've been having a great time since then.
Once we arrived at the ship, we ran on, and I immediately noticed something. Chad was not here. I bit my lip. Maybe he just wanted to be fashionably late or something.
I still picked up my phone and called him though.
"Chad? Where are you?"
"Oh Lori, it's wonderful!"
"What are you talking about?"
"Audrey has a flat tire in Sherwood and called me to fix it!"
I sighed.
"Chad, that's hours away."
"I know! I have to go, bye Ellie!"
A smile tugged at my lips as he used the nickname, but it quickly turned into a frown. I knew Chad still loved Audrey, but this was too much. Something must have triggered it.
"Hey guys?" I said, walking up to Jane and Lonnie. "Have you seen Chad? I think he did something stupid and I need to know what set it off."
"Yeah, I heard a ton of kids bullying him about his breakup with Audrey, saying she was too good for him and he was a player but couldn't hold on to the one girl he liked and that he'll never get a real girlfriend. Stuff like that," Lonnie said and I cursed under my breath, making Jane wince a bit.
But then the boat started to go, and Aziz walked up to me.
"May I have this dance m'lady?" he asked in a fancy tone, bowing low.
I rolled my eyes.
"Of course, you jester," I answered in the same tone, and dragged him out to dance before he had a chance to respond.
Aziz, Emma, Alan, and I hung out together, and I gave Alan the usual sister talk about how if he hurt Emma he would suffer a bloody and gruesome death and all that stuff.
Oh, I can't wait until I start giving these talks to Alex's boyfriends. That'll be hilarious to watch. I may just invite Emma with a bag of popcorn.
Later, when we were alone, Emma took me to the side and whispered that she didn't think it would work out with Alan, and that they just didn't have any chemistry. I understand that feeling, and I'm just glad they figured it out at a dance instead of something awkward like a date. That's happened to me a few times and it's not exactly fun.
Soon, Mal appeared. She looked beautiful, and I was happy to see her hair back to purple. Although yellow and blue really aren't her colors.
Oh, and then Ben arrived with Uma and tried to bring the barrier down but it turns out she spelled him and he made Mal a beautiful stained glass window and he and Mal are True Love now and Mal can turn into a dragon and Uma an octopus and they had this huge fight and now Mal has a new dress.
And now we're singing and dancing like nothing happened. It's actually really fun.
I laughed as Aziz spun me around and we nearly fell in the water.
"Well, this day was interesting," he said casually, and I laughed a bit.
"Definitely."
We were silent for a moment, both thinking the same thing. Mal and Ben had been together for six months and were True Love but we had yet to kiss.
Then, Evie stood up at the podium and cleared her throat.
"In honor of today, we have decided to sing a special song," she laughed, and motioned with her hand. Jane, Lonnie, Jay, Carlos, and Doug ran up to her, all of them grinning.
And then they started to sing Kiss The Girl. Of course. The universe hates me today.
We all kept dancing, and I saw all the couples kiss at the end of the song. Well, I saw it out of the corner of my eye. I was more focused on Aziz. I didn't even realize it, but I was holding my breath. I was pretty sure he was about to kiss me and I was nervous but...I think I wanted him to.
And he did. We blended in perfectly with everyone else, but unlike most of them this was our first kiss. Carlos and Jay only kissed Lonnie and Jane's cheeks, since they had just started dating.
I smiled at him, then laughed a bit.
"Chad is going to kill you."
. . .
Yay! Their first kiss! I don't think this chapter is my greatest material, but I had to rewrite part of it and wanted to get it out today.
