I also want to thank the two people who guessed who Frances's dad was. Both were considered and Lillian di Angelo did actually guess correct! - dragon628
Chapter 7
Hecate POV
Ooooo, this was going to be good! All of the male gods in the room looked like they were in deep thought, trying to remember if Frances was their's!
This was amazingly awsome, you know whoever Frances's dad was someone wasn't going to like her! But I sincerly doubt she was going to care.
"And... Ummmmm, who is your dad Frances?" Mr. Logan Summers asked her calmly, but clearly having first-hand knowledge of having your godly parent not remember you.
"If he doesn't know then I'm not telling the bastard." Frances growled, menacingly.
This got even better by the minute! I have no idea why Aunt Hestia hated family drama! This is amazing! Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!
"Well then why don't you give him a hint, and he might remember on his own." He turned to the gods in the room. "And he mught want to remember quickly for his own good, before his daughter rips him to shreads!" He said out of the corner of his mouth.
All the gods nodded so frantically that it was comical, and I half expected their heads to fall off! And if I was still the goddess of magic I could have made that happen! With no injury to the person I did it too! Well... minimal injury...
"Fine." Frances growled out. Seriously! This girl is scary! Nope that doesn't cover it... This girl is freaking terrifying!
"No one likes my dad. He likes to start fights and hates almost everyone." Well that narrowed it down.
I mean it could be Zeus, Hades, or mabye Ares, I mean so that kind of narrowed it down.
"Zeus, Hades did either of you break the packet again?!" Posidean snarled.
"No!" Both of them shouted back, affronted.
"Well that only leaves..." Everyone turned to Ares, who for once in his immortal life looked terrified. He had gone as pale as snow, and was gripping the sides of his chair so hard I thought it was going to break.
"Frances Angelina Grant." Ares whispered. "I-I well... oh f-"
"Ares!" Hera screamed.
"Fudge! I was going to say fudge." Hera glared at him. "I, oh Hades, I." Frances refused to look at him.
"I'm sorry..." Everyone froze. Did Ares just... apologize? Clearly Frances saw how big of a deal this was, and walked over to him.
Their eyes met, and Frances hugged him, and suprisingly Ares didn't pull away. Seriously was being mortal really changing him? He wrapped his arms around her, and they embraced.
Frances then kicked Apollo out, who was sitting on Ares's left, and made him go sit in her old chair, while she sat next to her father.
Flashback
Frances POV
7 year old Frances had just got home from school. She didn't understand why her parents moved every year! It wasn't fair! She always lost all of her friends, and was always the new girl!
This most recent move they moved out of New York City, and to a small town in New Jersey, which was about 3 miles from the ocean, and 1 hours from NYC. Her parents promised that this was thr last move, but she had heard that one before!
She had just finished unpacking her room, and was currently reading her favorite book again 'Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone'! It had taken some convincing from her parents but finally she had started to read it.
"Frances!" Her father called. "Can you come to the kitchen please!" Frances did as she was asked, and ran into the kitchen. She was suprised to see a man standing next to her mother, and father around the new dinning room table they had bought the other day.
"Truly?" Her mother asked.
"Yes, you wonder why these things happen, and I'm giving you an anwser."
It was worth noting now that Frances didn't look at all like her mother, and only slightly like her father, but she never questioned it.
As she walked into the kitchen her father gestured for her to come sit at one of the chairs.
"She has ADHD correct." The weird man asked her mother.
"Yes... but she doesn't have dyslexia, didn't you say that they have that too."
"It's not uncommon for them not to have that."
The man took a peice of paper out of his pocket, and handed it to Frances.
She looked at the paper then looked at him. "Why are you wearing sun glasses inside Mr.?"
The man smiled at her. "It is quite bright in here, isn't it?"
Frances nodded slowly.
"Now, can you read what's on this paper for me, please?" Frances opened the paper, as her father was looking over her shoulder and squinting at the words.
"Cabin 5, Daughter of Ares, Camp Halfblood, Long Island Sound, New York, Frances Angelina Grant..." She looked towards the mysterious man. "What does that mean?"
Her father and mother were dumstruck. "As you can see, she can read Greek."
"Greek?" Frances asked.
"Don't worry dear." Her mother said.
"She truly is a demigod?" Her father whispered.
"Yes, and if you want her to have any chance of survival she must go."
Her parents glaced at eachother, then they glanced at the strange man, and then at their daughter.
"Of course." Her mother got up, and walked to Frances's room.
At this point Frances was really confused. What the heck was going? Who was this man? What was Camp Halfblood? Why were her parents sad? What is a 'demigod'.
Her father motioned for her to come sit on his lap.
Her father sighed. "Frances dear, your mother and I have been keeping something from you."
Frances turned her head to meet her fathers eyes. "What do you mean?"
He shook his head. "Your adopted, dear."
Those 2 words changed Frances's world forever.
Present
Hecate POV
"Well now that, that's settled, who wants to voice their grievences next? Honestly that went better than I thought it would..." Mr. Summers muttered.
"Actually Logan, I think we're out of time, if my watch isn't fast." Frances voiced, tapping a bronze watch on her wrist.
"Hmmm..." Logan looked at the wall clock. "Your are correct, Frances, I will see you all next week! Try not to kill each other!" He shouted at them as they walked out of the room.
A whole week without trying to kill eachother? He's crazy, he asks too much!
