"How awful. That's why you all vanished. It all makes so much sense." I said to the woman who was telling us the story.
"Yes. It was a sad time for all of us." said the woman.
"But... if you are a Care Bear, then why are you human?" asked Ronnie.
"We used our powers to transform ourselves temporarily into humans. But only two of us. Myself and Funshine Bear." said the woman.
"Who are you?" asked Abraham.
"I'm Cheer Bear." said the woman with a warm smile. She then closed her eyes and opened them to reveal a beautiful brightness. In a moment, her human body began to fade away and sitting on the chair was a fuzzy looking pink bear with a rainbow birthmark on her belly. This was her. This was Cheer Bear.
"So the legends are true. You really are bears." scoffed Elliot, who was sitting next to Abraham who had him under control.
"Are you here to save us all?" asked Ronnie hopefully.
Cheer Bear smiled, but shook her head sadly. "I'm afraid we have been shown that we cannot save every living person. No Heart proved that to us on that day." said Cheer Bear.
"But you saved countless lives." I said.
"Not mine. I suffered in the dark." said Elliot quickly. I kept my mouth shut, but Cheer Bear nodded in agreement.
"We all thought we were doing the right thing. Everytime we saved a child on Earth from something, the Caring Meter would show us that all was right in the world. But now we see that this was not enough." said Cheer Bear.
"Well, you met me. And No Heart was pretty much a kid like the rest of us. Homeless, hungry and easy prey." said Elliot.
Cheer Bear shook her head. "You have powers not many children have. The impulse was kind to you."
"The impulse? It chose wrong. I'm dark impulse." said Elliot.
"Perhaps, but there is a strong light inside you. You don't have the wicked desires that most dark impulse users have." said Cheer Bear.
"My desire is to be a hero to kids. To save them. I'm a kid myself, and I know what it's like to suffer in the city." said Elliot.
"I have the power to bring letters from my books." said Abraham.
"That is also in a way dark impulse." said Cheer Bear.
"Really?" asked Abraham.
"Letters should stay in books, but with the dark impulse, you bring them out of thier homes." said Cheer Bear.
"I didn't know that. Wow!" said Abraham. Clearly he didn't look worried, but rather impressed.
"Cheer Bear, why are you and Funshine Bear here in Techno City?" asked Ronnie.
Cheer Bear stood up. "It was Tender Heart. He no longer lives in Hell's Abyss. He sent us all a signal to come here to Techno City. Apperantly, it has something to do with No Heart." said Cheer Bear.
"What is he up to? And why does he have my brother?" I asked. I wanted to get to the truth and learn more.
"No Heart passes his power to other people to become the next No Heart. The No Heart that destroyed our spirits is looking for an heir. Someone to take his place as the next No Heart. It's possible he chose your brother as a canditate." said Cheer Bear.
"That monster." I growled under my breath. My hatred for that creature was growing little by little.
"How did you survive the fall?" asked Cheer Bear to Ronnie.
I looked at her and she smiled. "So that was not a dream? That really happened?" asked Ronnie.
"No way. Ronnie! You were the girl No Heart captured and threw from the tower?!" cried Elliot.
"Yes. Tender Heart's light saved me. I didn't die." said Ronnie.
"Then that's good news! Tender Heart didn't kill anyone!" cried Abraham.
"But the guilt remains. Even if you lived, still, were were shown that we alone are powerless against No Heart." said Cheer Bear.
"He's got my brother. He won't take him from me." I said aloud.
"Then we need to find Tender Heart. He's the only Care Bear strong enough to take on No Heart." said Cheer Bear.
"Where will we find him. The city is endless." said Elliot.
"Eventually, we might end up running into him. If he's hiding like us, then we might have no trouble at all." I said.
"Just be very careful. The dark impulse is very strong in this city." said Cheer Bear.
"This city is our home Cheer Bear. We can find our way to escape it's darkness." said Elliot.
Cheer Bear then stood up and her belly began to shine. "Then allow me to bless you all. With some light, it may protect you from the danger. I haven't heard from Funshine in a while, and I'm starting to worry." said Cheer Bear.
"Well be fine." said Ronnie. "And when we find Tender Heart, I'm going to give him a big hug for saving me." said Ronnie.
"But we saw you hit your head on No Heart's Tower." Cheer Bear was saying.
"The Care Bear stare healed my bones and my body. I was saved by it's light." said Ronnie.
"Why didn't you tell us anything?" asked Abraham.
"Secrets." said Ronnie.
Cheer Bear smiled. "Secret Heart Bear would have liked you." she said softly as Ronnie kissed her forhead.
"Let's be off guys. No Heart's got my brother, and I'm going to kick his ass." said Bellon.
