"Alexus? Alexus, wake up. Alexus! Wake up child." A shrill voice demanded. I opened my eyes to see Zexion and Mr. Vexen looking at me. I was confused until I remembered that I had fallen asleep on the sofa.

"Hello." I greeted timidly.

"You can't sleep here child. Where is your father?" Mr. Vexen demanded. I shrugged. "Were you left alone?"

"Yes. He said I could go anywhere in the castle. I didn't know where I was going." I replied.

"I'll speak with him. Zexion, stay with the girl while I inform the superior how incredibly naïve he is for leaving a little girl to her own devices in a large and unknown area completely unsupervised." He huffed before rushing off.

Zexion took a seat next to me. "Don't mind Vexen. He's way too uptight and freaks out over small things. I've wandered off from him more than a few times. He used to be terrified every time." He chuckled.

"Not anymore?" I asked.

"Not since we moved." Zexion sighed.

"You mean you used to live somewhere else?" I questioned.

"Yes. Another castle far away from here. Things were different back then." Zexion elaborated.

"Were there Dusks there too?" I shuddered.

"No. Everything was simpler back then. Things were normal. You don't know the half of it. Everything else makes the Dusks pale in comparison. Trust me, they're the last thing you should be afraid of." Zexion assured me.

"But their hands look so sharp and pointy." I mentioned.

"So is the sword of a knight in shining armor. The Dusks will protect you. They're not here to hurt you." Zexion pointed out.

"Are there things here that I'll need to be protected from?" I wondered.

"There isn't anything right now so long as you stay in the castle, but there most likely will be one day. You shouldn't worry about it right now though. Just know that you're safe here. There's nothing you need to be afraid of." Zexion reassured me.

"If you say so. I don't think I can help but be afraid of the Dusks. They're pretty intimidating." I groaned. Mr. Vexen came back with Mr. Xemnas. Mr. Xemnas glanced at me and then spoke with Mr. Vexen.

"What exactly should I be so concerned about, Vexen?" Mr. Xemnas inquired.

"Your daughter. She was sleeping on the sofa when Zexion and I returned." Mr. Vexen stated.

"What is wrong with that?" Mr. Xemnas asked.

"To start, it is not a proper place for her to sleep. Secondly, if I might openly express my opinion, she should not have been left alone for so long. We might be lucky that she took a nap. She was left with nothing to do, but roam about. I've found through my child raising experiences that boredom has a tendency to invite trouble." Mr. Vexen replied.

"What did I tell you? Uptight." Zexion whispered in my ear. I did my best to stifle my giggles.

"You may have a point, but not a solution. I cannot spend all of my days watching her. I am too preoccupied and I certainly I can't have her coming along on the Organizations missions. That would be too dangerous." Mr. Xemnas mused.

"Maybe you should have thought of that before you brought me here." I muttered under my breath.

Mr. Xemnas' turned his gaze to me. "Maybe you should have been left at your aunt's mercy." He scoffed.

"Well maybe I should have. You never cared about me anyways. Why start now?" I snapped.

"Zexion, come. We will take no part in this." Mr. Vexen ordered. Zexion got up from the sofa and they rushed out of the room. Mr Xemnas hardly noticed.

"You would be wise to hold your tongue. Do not tempt me. I will place you back in Ralene's hands." He threatened.

"Go ahead! At least then I'll know what will become of me!" I shouted. Tears streamed down my face. A part of me was afraid he actually would take me back to Aunt Ralene. I wished that I hadn't said that, but there was nothing I could do once it was said. He held up his hand and the dark corridor returned.

"You want to go home so badly? You want to be rid of me?! That will take you home! Go ahead! Go through the door! You want to leave so badly! I'm such a terrible person for bringing you here, away from your aunt, when I clearly have no idea what I'm doing! No matter what I do, you'll never be happy here! You're right! You'll be so much better off there! Leave now if that's what you think!" He shouted. I just sat there crying. I bawled like a baby. Mr. Xemnas left the room. The dark corridor remained. I was terrified.
