Another chapter in Comet's crazy life. This has some history to both Mewni and other Royal families.
Party Crashing
Comet was looking at the flier for the end of school dance. "Hard to believe Freshman year is already over." He said to his friend Luke.
His friend was taller than him and was a junior on the cornball team so he was very built. "Yeah, next year will be my last year, but you'll have 3 more years of torture left." He chuckled.
"Yeah." Comet said, looking down. "And I still have no one to go to the dance with."
Before Luke could respond there was a swarm of paparazzi forming in response to 3 teens walking towards a limo. "I don't get what's the big deal with those end of year transfers." He said.
Comet turned to his friend. "Wait, you seriously don't know who they are?"
Luke shrugged in response, a sign of not knowing.
"Right, you're parents are human, but you should still know cause they've been here for three weeks!" Comet responded. "They're Ladies Papillon, Lepid and Lord Morpho." Comet explained as the three teen entered their limo and as it drove off the paparazzi followed.
"Huh, those sound like butterfly names. Are they related to you or something?" Luke asked.
"No." Comet responded. "Well, I guess."
"Let me guess... long story?" Luke said.
"Kinda. Want the short version or the long version?" Comet offered.
"The short." Luke answered.
"Okay." Comet then cleared his throat. "It all begins over 1000 years before Queen Skywynne came to power-"
"This is the short version?" Luke interrupted.
"Oh yeah." Comet said. "See in the beginning there was only 1 Queen, but when passed the crown to her daughter, uh, Alexandra, she also established the other 9 kingdoms so it would be easier to manage the population, but her daughter, the First Butterfly, that was her title, and her family would be the supreme rulers. Then when the 3rd Queen Selene expanded the mewmans to begin colonizing the other main land masses, with the Butterfly, Spiderbite, Mountains, and Johansen Kingdoms on the original continent, Farfalliana, the Dragonfly on the western half of the continent Libellion and the DeNile in the desertous eastern half, and the split continent Luciolus, the Phoenix in West Luciolus and the Firefly in East Luciolus, and the Lazuli Kingdom was on the coasts of the sea that divided the continent in two, and the Robin Kingdom was in the large archipelago of islands in the north east of Farfalliana."
"What was the point of telling me that?" Luke asked.
"Cause as they gained a large amount of territory and the population grew the Royals couldn't manage their citizens like before and so Nobles were established within the kingdoms to govern the populations." Comet explained. "And they also provided spouses for the Royals to... umm..." Comet twirled his hands to find the right word. "Well it was to dilute the potency of the blood between Royals."
"Makes sense." Luke said. "Funny the paparazzi weren't after you though, being like a prince."
"Well those guys are more... well they're more out going than I am, famous outside of being Nobles." Comet explained. "Their parents are here to discuss about being under my rule when I become king in a few years."
"Man, I can't imagine the kind of pressure you're under." Luke commented.
Yeah. It's intense, but I'm several years away from that so there's that. And the magic is fun too." Comet pulled out his wand.
"So that wand can really do anything?" Luke asked.
"Essentially, yes." Comet replied.
"Then why did you're family regularly give it to a teenager?!" Luke said.
"That's just the way it was, and it normally turned out fine." Comet said.
"'Normally'?" Luke questioned.
"Well my mom... when she got they wand things didn't turn out so well." Comet trailed off. "But the worst thing done with it is explode a dimension."
"Explode what now?" Luke reacted.
"Nothing." Comet said quickly and put his wand away. "So did you get a date to the dance?" He said, trying to change the conversation, and they began walking.
"Yeah, this green haired girl named Catharina, she's a grade ahead of you." Luke said. "You said you don't have anyone to take. Any interests though?"
"Uh." Comet said, blushing a little, but then he fell to the ground when he bumped into someone.
"Gah!" The person Comet bumped into said, it was Ashly. "Watch it pretur- oh, hey Comet." Ashly said while standing up.
"Um here." Comet picked up her book bag and handed it to her, then saw a balled up paper fall out. "This fell out." He showed it to Ashly, who snatched it so quick Comet didn't even feel it. "That was snatchy."
"It's private." Ashly put her paper away. "So, you gonna go to the dance?" She asked.
"Yeah." Comet said. "You?"
"Maybe?" Ashly said. "You got a date?"
"No..." Comet trailed off.
"Then I'll go. That way we can be alone together." Ashly said.
"Isn't that an oxymoron?" Luke interjected.
Ashly growled at him. "It's an expression."
"Okay..." Luke said with an installment of fear.
"Why don't you have a date?" Comet asked.
"Well whenever I'm not at school or hanging out with your stink butt I'm arguing with my parents about this summer." Ashly said. "They want me to return home again, but I wanna stay here and-" She was interrupted by some rustling in the bushes.
"Comet." A female voice said.
"No..." Comet said in a low voice, them turned to Ashly. "Hold our stuff!" They said simultaneously as they handed Luke their bags, who then fell over. Comet then pulled out his wand and Ashly got into a fighting stance.
From the bushed emerged a girl about their age with long brown hair and pink eyes, it was Stella Loveberry, Mina's second child. "Hello." She said nonchalantly.
"You..." Comet growled as his wand's gem glowed. "Get out of her before I time bomb you with tomatoes!"
"Wow, and here I though you were over the whole thing." Stella said with a smile.
"What on Mewearth, or any dimension, made you think that?!" Comet yelled. "You manipulated me so you could get close to Solaria so you could chop her head off!" He said angrily. "And mine!"
"And I've had a little reflection on that. I shouldn't have tried to kill you. After all, you ain't a monster smoocher. Unlike that brother of mine."
"You stay away from him!" Ashly said. "We kicked your butt before and we'll do it again!"
"Oh but I'm not here to fight." Stella said innocently. "I just wanted to see you."
Comet growled. "I told you, it's over!" He shouted. "I don't like you anymore! And nothing you can do can't change that!"
"Maybe nothing I can do!" She chuckled and threw smoke pellets on the ground and when they cleared she was gone.
"That was a little random." Luke said standing up.
"Give her family, not so much!" Comet said, then turned to Ashly. "You don't think she'll try something at the dance do you?"
"She might be Mina's daughter but she's not stupid enough to reveal herself before an attack." Ashly said. "Let's not forget this girl was cleaver enough to fool her own brother, she could have kept her charade up longer if the night she attacked wasn't the one where Solaria and Sol made their relationship public."
"And I have magic now. I think we can handle it." Comet said. "Well, I've gotta pick up Angel, see you guys later." Comet then went and picked put his sister and headed home.
"Rough day?" Angel asked, seeing the look on her brother's face.
"Noting I can't handle." Comet said.
"You sure? Remember when I got kidnapped last year and I bit his neck clean off his body after he tried to attack you?" Angel reminded him.
"It was gross but yeah what's your point?" Comet said.
"If you need my help with something I can always back you up." Angel said sweetly, then grinned. "I'll always be there for you."
"This isn't a greedy Septarian looking for a ransom." He said, looking down. "You're still my little sister." Comet and his sister arrived at their house and saw their father in the garage. He was in a tank and covered in grease with a dragon cycle in it. "Hey dad."
"Hey kids." Marco said. "So Comet, got a date?"
"No. I, just goin with a friend." Comet said as he want inside.
"A friend?" Angel asked.
"Yeah, Ashly." Comet said as he and Angel went upstairs.
"Ooh." Angel said, leaning towards Comet.
He growled as he went into his room. He saw a large book on his desk and a note. "'Dear Comet, as a future Queen, well King you should have the details of past rulers. Pulse it's fun to learn details about your ancestors. Heart Auntie Eclipsa.'" He read the note, looking down and realized it was the Butterfly Book, the history of the Butterfly Family. "Angel! Get in here!" He yelled.
Angel then kicked in the door. "What?"
"Look what Eclipsa sent!" Comet gestured to the book.
"The Spell Book?" Angel guessed.
"No. The Butterfly Book. You know who Crescenta is?"Comet asked.
"Yeah. Our," Angel then counted on her fingers, "seven time great grandma. She surpassed her sister as future Queen and married a mermaid."
"Well her son Sirius found the magic archives with the history of the Butterflies and made this book. The 26 pre Skywynne Queens were know by name and some memorable actions, but his has details." Comet explained. "And other family histories like major Mewni events, bloodline, even siblings. Since the scandal was revealed its had some revisions."
"Ooo!" Angel said. "Let's read it!" She said. And the two siblings looked through it until Comet had to get ready for the dance.
"Okay, well I've gotta get ready. You and look at it when I'm gone." Comet said as Angel left. When her got his clothes on and straightened his tie and put on his hat when he got a knock on his door. "Come in."
His mother then opened the door. "Comet, you have a lady caller!" She said sing songish.
"Moooom." Comet growled annoyance, who only smiled.
"Hey, I thought this was a dance, not a night at the club." She said in reference to Comet's party attire over his formal wear.
"It's an end of school dance." He then picked up the flier. "It says "informal party clothes acceptable", and since I've taken the crown I've had to wear that outfit a lot." He said, gesturing to his hanging formal wear. Comet went down stairs and saw Ashly there. She was in a simple puffy black cocktail dress and her long pink hair was unbraided but had some pulled back into hair knots. "Wow..." He blushed a little, but his red marks hid most of it. "You look nice. Like the hair."
"Yeah, my grandma showed me a few Irish knots to give it style." Ashly said, then there was a photo click.
"You two are so cute." Star said from on the stairs with her mirror phone.
Comet's blush turned to one of embarrassment. "Okay. Let's go." He took her hand and magiced the door shut with a blue glow hand. "Sorry."
"No, I get it. When I still lived in Phoenix my family attended an event with the Raven family, you know them?" Ashly asked.
"They're Nobles from your kingdom correct?" Comet asked.
"Yeah. Well I danced with Jet Raven and my dad thought it was adorable and teased me." She said. "Well my cousin's in the car waiting to take us to the dance." She pointed to the car in the driveway.
Actually..." Comet held out his wand and the gem glowed. "I have an alternate mode of transportation in mind."
...
At the school Solaria and Sol were waiting for their friends to show up. "Hey, is that star moving?" He pointed to a moving glowing object.
"No..." Solaria squinted her eyes. "That's a flying... narwhal?" She said confused.
She was right, a large narwhal with butterfly wings came flying down with Comet and Ashly on his back. "Thanks Flying Narwhal." Comet said as he and Ashly slide down his back.
"No prob." He said with a smile before disappearing in a cloud of blue smoke.
"You made a flying Narwhal." Solaria commented, she wore a long black dress that slit up the sides, revealing her legs and had a translucent purple sash on her arms.
"Yep. My mom says you can't go wrong with a Narwhal."
"So, did you get the gift my mom sent?" Solaria asked.
"Yeah. You knew she was sending the book?" Comet asked.
"What book? The famous Spell Book?" Sol asked, who was in informal party clothes.
"No. The Butterfly Book. It has details on the Queens we have in common," Comet gestured to him and Solaria "And the ones only I'm related to."
"I'm still a little confused on how you guys are still related after the conspiracy was revealed." Sol asked.
"Well, see my grandmother Solaria was the daughter of Queen Skywynne, but she also had a son Jushtin, he married um," She napped her fingers "Recluza Spiderbite, and when the Lunaura conspiracy happened she was raised by him along with his grandson Peter. Lunaura and Peter developed a secret romantic relationship."
"Wait!" Sol interrupted. "If Peter was the grandson of a Butterfly and Siderbite, and if Lunaura believed she was Eclipsa and Shastacan Spiderbite's daughter... does that seem a little..." He said while twiddling his fingers.
"Try not to think about it too much." Ashly said. "It's not uncommon in Royal and Noble lines for couples to be of close blood." She said.
"Anyway." Comet continued to explaining. "The relationship was revealed in an unsent letter Lunaura wrote that that revealed she left the relationship pregnant before her marriage, one of a necessity for the kingdom, and everyone bought her getting pregnant after the wedding as she and Peter ended the relationship a couple of weeks before the wedding. Meaning her first daughter Festivia was a descendant of the real Butterfly Family, ergo I am too."
"Oh." Sol said. "So your family really did have a claim to the throne."
"Yeah, and even when this was revealed last year and some of the other families wanted a Butterfly Queen my mother still refused." Comet said.
"Okay, enough history!" Solaria said, grabbing Comet and Sol by the wrists, and Ashly with her tail. "Time to party!" She dragged them inside, seeing an array of teens both in formal tuxes and dresses, and informal ones too.
"Is that a fire?" Ashly pointed to the open doors on the other side of the gym and sure enough there was a can fire. "Should we be concerned?"
"Nah." Comet said. "My mother set a fire like every other day when she attended this school."
"Yeah. It's a tradition here." Sol said, as it was his third year attending the school. "But it's controlled."
After a while the group broke up and mingled with their friends, but then Comet saw Ashly talking on her phone and had a worried look on her face. "Um, you alright Ashly?" Comet asked, handing her a cup of punch.
"Um, my parents say it's okay if I stay." She said, drinking her entire cup in one sitting.
"But before you really wanted to stay." Comet said.
"That's the thing, my dad wanted me to come home and he never changes his mind, ever!" Ashly said. "Something really bad must have happened!"
"I know your dad is as suborn as a laboring warnicorn with twins, but did something really bad have to had happened?"
"Oh dear sweet Comet," Ashly said with false sincerity, "even after my father fell I love with my mother 20 years ago, my dad still has reservations about humans."
"Wow." Comet said, then took a sip from his cup, then heard a boom sound. He looked down at his cup and saw ripples. "What was that?"
"Could be the music." Ashly said, then the boom happened again. "Or maybe not."
Comet looked at the wall next to them, and realized the boom was on the other side. The sound got closer and Comet instinctual pulled out his wand. "Hamster Ball Protection!" The gem glowed and a giant hamster ball formed around him and Ashly. Moments later the wall busted as a large fist punched through it, and sent them flying, luckily the ball protected them.
"You're getting good at that." Ashly commented. There was then a tap at the end of the ball, it was Solaria, who was smushed between the ball and the wall.
"Oops." Comet said, holding his wand and vanishing the ball.
"Gah!" Solaria said as she gasped for air. "What was that?!"
"Well to me it looked like a giant metal fist." Comet said.
"Did you say giant metal fist?" Sol said with worry. Then the fist came back and rummaged around as the students were running screaming. "I know that armor." He said shakenly. "It belongs to a Solarian Warrior..."
"Tomato Time Bombs!" Comet blasted the metal fist with tomatoes that blinked when splattered and then exploded, but the hand was unphased.
"You dummy!" Ashly said. "That's Chromitite Steel! You can't damage it with tomatoes!"
"How do you know what that's made of?" Solaria asked.
"How do you not?!" Ashly yelled.
"It doesn't matter! I've gotta fight that thing so everyone else can escape!" Comet said as he ran out.
"Comet wait!" Ashly yelled. "Gah!" She yelled as she ran after him, kicking off her shoes.
Outside a large Solarian Warrior armor stood up, ready to hit the wall again when Comet blasted it with what seemed to be some kind of blueberry blast. "Get out of my school!" He yelled.
"You mean our school!" Ashly said, running next to him. "If we open the helmet you can blast the warrior on the inside!" She said, dodging a swinging fist, which she then balanced her body on as she ran up the arm. She then kicked the helmet open. "Gah!" She yelled since she hit it with her bare foot.
"What the?!" Solaria said, seeing the helmet was empty. "There supposed to be a buffed out person in there!"
Sol gasped "How-"
"Like this." A female voice said. It belonged to a girl maybe 13 years old, with blue eyes and familiar purple hair, tied into pig tails. She had a large controller strapped to her chest. "Hello, brother." She said, smiling at Sol.
"Aelia." Sol said.
"It's it marvelous?" She said, the moved the controls and the armor shut its helmet. "Months of engineering, but now we have our own remote controlled Solarian Armor!"
"She might be 13, but she's the smartest person in my mother's, whatever it is." Sol said.
"It's a cult Sol!" Solaria yelled. "Just call it a cult!"
"Gah! I knew Stella's appearance wasn't random!" Comet said, dodging a grab.
Sol hear a caw, and turned his head and saw a black bird in the air, with a burn mark on its head. "Get down!" He jumped on Solaria, knocking them both to the ground. A second a red flash came over them. "No..." He whispered.
The flash belonged to a thin red light blade. And the one who wielded it was none other than Mina Loveberry. Her hair long and in a braid, and donned a dress similar to her pre-warrior days. "Hello, son."
"Mom..." Sol whispered.
"My dear Sol." Mina said in a false sincere voice. "Still with that creature are we?" She pointed her blade at Solaria. "Where did this monster smooching come from?"
"Maybe from my dad, but I don't know a single thing about him!" He said in a harsh voice.
"Are we still on that?" She said, then rushed towards the two and swung her blade at Solaria, who luckily dodged it, then laughed. "Like my Solaria Saber?" She held up her blade. "Without my powers I can't wield my Solaria Sword, too heavy. But these Sabers were made for those who didn't have a Sword. And thanks to magic returning I can use it!" She rushed towards Solaria, who luckily dodged it again, and Mina only laughed some more.
"Guys, do not let that Saber touch you! It's just as deadly as the Sword!" Sol said.
"Got it!" Ashly said, dodging the armor's fists. "Hey, if this thing is basically a robot, Comet maybe a lightning spell!"
"I don't have one!" Comet said.
"Then make one up! I'm pretty sure that's how it works!" Ashly yelled.
"It does, but I can't just make a new spell in these conditions!" Comet screamed as he dodged another attack. "There's a good chance I could get electrocuted!"
"Look out!" Sol yelled as the armor came again.
"I know a couple fire spells though!" Comet said. "Maybe can melt it?"
"It's Chromitite Steel! Nothing you can muster can melt that!" Ashly said.
"But this might be effective!" Solaria ran out and enlarged her arms to punch the armor, and it fell back.
Ashly face palmed. "Gah. If only I had my fire." She said. She saw Mina rushing towards Solaria and ramed her.
"You!" Mina said, seeing the girl who knocked her down. "You're Princess Phoenix! How fare has royalty come to mingle with these filthy monsters?!"
"Not as low as you have fallen!" Ashly ran towards Mina, and launched a series of quick jabs, but none of them connected. Mina only smiled as she dodged all of them and them unleashed a series of her own, whic connected, the did a kick that launched her far, and she struggled to get up.
"ASHLY!" Comet yelled.
"I have been alive for 400 years Princess." Mina said with a chuckle. "I was born during the reign of Queen Skywynne. I was the first and last Original Solarian Warrior. I have mastered every Mewnian fighting style, all ancient and modern. Nothing you can do can touch me!" She said as she went for her Saber. "Your family was a proud line of warriors, but you are just pathetic for mingling with that abomination."
"Pathetic?" Ashly said. She pulled herself up, and there was a glow on her chest. "I... am not... PATHETIC!" She screamed, and the glow radiated throughout her body, and the scream sent shock waves that Mina felt. After a few deep breaths Ashly looked down at herself. "Woah." She said as she looked at her hands, and then to the armor. "Maybe." She charged towards it and launched herself in the air and did a somersault, also created a flame wheel that partially melted its left hand.
"Uh, how are you doing that?!" Comet asked.
"I'll explain later. But, mind if I have a dance?" Ashly outstretched her hand. Comet looked at her and smiled and took her, it hurt him for a sec, but the two prepared to dance.
The two began with a simple waltz and Comet lifted a glowing Ashly in the air and spun her a few times. She then did a split on the ground and her heels flamed up and created a circle of fire as Comet twirled her around, she then pulled him in as she got up and the flames grew.
The armor rushed towards them, but Comet pulled out his wand and launched both he and Ashly into the air, and the fire circle turned into a blazing column of fire that when the armor put its hand in, it melted into a blob. They landed on the ground with Ashly catching him and spun him around before setting him on the ground.
As Aelia freaked out over her robot armor lost its hand Ashly and Comet danced around the armor, creating a trial of fire as well. The armor used its other fist to try to smash them, but they dodged it and the new ring was completely. Ashly did a somersault through the air and handed in Comet's arms. He swirled them around and she the stood on the ground, the, holding hands and outstretched the other, with Comet holding his wand in his hand and then blasted the fire ring and an even bigger column of shot up and encased the armor.
This large column of fire could be seen from the Diaz House. Marco was on the second floor when he saw it through the window. "Honey, there's a fountain of fire at Comet's school." Marco yelled.
"Is it bigger than any I've caused?" Star yelled from downstairs.
"No." Marco yelled.
"Then I wouldn't worry about it!" Star said. "Now get your butt down her, I made Star Cakes!"
"Did you make sure not to use glitter this time?" Marco said as he walked downstairs.
"I got it confused with the sprinkles!"
Back at the school Aelia was screaming as the armor was reduced to a blob of red hot metal. "This isn't over!" There was a visible throb on her forehead.
Mina was stunned by the dance, and was about to attack when they heard sirens. "Gah! Emergency Exit Aelia!" Her daughter flipped a switch on her controller and dropped it on the ground and a large bright flash blinded everyone as the 2 Loveberry girls vanished.
"My mother sure knows how to make an exit." Sol said. He turned and saw Ashly's glow fading. "So, and explanation for the glowing?"
"Or how you know so much about the armor?" Solaria asked.
"Well, to answer both I kinda have to go to the very beginning of my family, as in the First Settlers." Ashly turned to her friends. "We all know that before and after Mewnipendence there was one Queen, but when she passed her crown to her daughter she established the other Royal family, 2 were her other children and the remaining 7 were the first borns of the other heroes during the war."
"And your family was one of the we know." Comet said.
"Yes but the hero who I'm a direct descendant of was Kai, and his son who became a King was Ash." Ashly said. "Kai was one of 3 First Settlers who developed magic, the first male to be precise. He had a gift for metal, he was a blacksmith, and used that to forge a massive amount of weapons and armor in short time for the soldiers during the Mewnipendence War. And his son Kai died while saving a phoenix from a bolder."
"Wait, he died?" Sol asked.
"He did. But the phoenix recognized his pure heart and gifted him the Flame that revived him." Ashly explained. "It's an actual flame that's been passed down from Phoenix King to King form my family's entire history. And because it's independent of Magic my family has kept the Flame since the destruction of magic. Those who have it are basically immortal, and for those like me who are children of a Phoenix King possess a small Ember, an ember that gives us accelerated healing, thou not instantaneous like the King."
"Oh, you know I have noticed you get back up quicker than others." Solaria said. "So how come we've never seen this fire trick before?"
"Because that was magic." Ashly said. "Fire magic runs in the family as well, and that went away with the magic. But now..." She looked down. "It's too early for me to develop a fire like that. I mean I'm glade it happened, but it shouldn't happen till later..."
"It was probably just a fluke." Solaria said. "Magic works off of emotions, and you were pretty emotional right before you started glowing. And we were in a realm of pure magic not too long ago."
"We better hope. Or else I'll really have to go home this summer." Ashly said.
"You haven't told us about how you knew so much about the armor." Sol said.
"Cause my family made it." Ashly replied. "Centuries ago when Queen Solaria made her army she commissioned my family to make them armor to match their might. Chromitite was the hardest metal in Mewni, and as indestructible as diamond. Only my family could survive the amount of heat required to melt it into Chromitite Steel, a diluted form a little easier to shape with less extreme heat." She explained. "My family might be royalty, but we're the best metal workers in all of Mewni."
"Huh, that explains was the Solarian Armor was is such good condition rafter most of it was left buried for hundreds of years." Solaria said. "Well, now that we're done with that history lesson, I here there's an after party on a room a couple blocks from here. Should we go?"
"Yeah, let's." Sol said, kissing her on the cheek.
Far away, Mina was look at the whole thing through a telescope. "My dear son..." She put the telescope down. "I will get you back."
Perhaps I can help with that." A female voice said.
Mina yelped and swung her Saber, which was caught by the woman. She was of average height with long black hair, a vail over her lower face and piercing blue eyes with red pupils. She caught the blade with a hand that was so dark it was almost black, and it didn't phase her. "How?! That Saber should be marking you!"
The woman laughed. "My magic negates this magic." Then lowered the blade. "I can sense you greatly want your child back, don't you?"
"What do you know about it?!" Mina said, changing to a defensive position.
"That he rejected you." The woman said. "I know what that feel like." She moved so fast Mina swore her hair moved on its own.
"Who are you?" Mina asked.
The woman chuckled. "Someone who can help you." She disappeared and reappeared behind her and Mina swung her Saber at her, and the woman caught it again, and this time darkness spread from her hand and ate away the blade. "I have magic, you have man power. Together we can accomplish what you want."
"And what would that be?" Mina smirked.
"Your son. I know your desire for the destruction of all monsters is strong, but love for a child is the strongest of all." She said, turning her face away from Mina. "With my magic, we can destroy that pitiful creature and her family."
"Hm." Mina said. "But what about mud sister's family?" She said slowly pulling out a dagger from her back.
"If you're referring to the other Butterfly Family, I have plans for them." She said. "See I need them alive to get what I want." She then turned around, not seeing the dagger behind Mina's back. "Just as you need the other one dead to get what you want. Together we can achieve what we want."
"If you so clearly think you know what I want, then what do you want?" Mina asked.
The woman chuckled. "My interests are my own. A woman must keep her secrets." She turned to Mina and squinted. "Like the truth about your son's father?"
A bomb dropped inside of Mina. "How..." she said shakenly.
"I know what a person with a deep secret looks like." She said. "When your son mentioned his father I could just sense a deep rooted secret. Don't worry, your secrets are yours to keep." She said, outstretching her hand. "So, shall we work together?"
Mina smiled and put the hidden dagger away. "If you so insist on helping me, how can I say no?" She shook to woman's hand. "But I would like to know your name."
The woman chuckled. "Very well, it's Umbra."
So, a team up of Mina and this new character, Umbra. That spells disaster for our group of friends.
