Awhile Later
The Davis Home
"I'm going to the River Court. I'll be back by dinner." Kennedy announced. Changed out of his original outfit into a t shirt and basketball shorts.
"Before you go I need the letter you've recently read." Brooke said.
"I don't want to keep talking about this. So sure i'll get it hand it over to you and then i'll." Kennedy replied. Turning from his mother as he went back up the stairs.
Hearing footsteps come up behind her. And Brooke focuses her gaze forward.
"I need to see the words that were written. I'll read it then hand it off to you. None of this is matching up." Brooke said. Looking to Lucas.
When Kennedy came back downstairs and saw Lucas standing beside his mother. He felt overcome with frustration and protectiveness.
"Just leave us alone!" He shouted at his father. Handing off the envelope before storming out the door.
"I'm the outsider here. He's trying to look out for you, Ryan and Rosemary. I don't fault him for it all. He's been there through everything of course he's going to do what he can to protect the people he loves." Lucas said.
"You aren't a threat to the kids or to me. I know that." Brooke replied.
As she opened the envelope. Unfolded the letter and began to read.
Dear Brooke,
I'm just going to be honest with you.
You and me what we had together as friends or more then that. Didn't mean anything to me. You were simply the first person i went because i knew you wouldn't say no.
That reputation that followed you around in high school never went anywhere.
You were keeping my bed warm and keeping me company. You're not good for much else but that. A good time.
Lucas
Brooke handed the letter off to Lucas.
She watched as he read it. When he was finished. He gripped the paper tightly.
"This is Peyton's handwriting. She wrote the letter." Lucas revealed.
"I'm going to confront her." Lucas announced.
"Not without me." Brooke replied.
