Kaida didn't like mornings. She preferred evenings and nights over the mornings of bright sunlight and everything waking up. But she powers through it, because she hates not doing anything even more.
So, when Naruto abruptly woke her up by pouncing on her bed, she was positive that today would be the day she committed her first murder. And the moment Naruto saw her face, he knew too.
"Kai, Kai! I'm really sorry, but we have our Genin test today!" Naruto exclaims, crouching on top of the bedroom door.
"I'll come up there if you're not going to come down and face your fate like a man," Kaida growls with narrowed eyes. Naruto shakes his head, making the pink haired girl release an animal-like growl. She climbs onto her dresser. Naruto screams loudly when Kaida pounces on his leg, forcing him to fall to the ground.
"Kaida, Naruto, you alright?" Kizashi shouts from downstairs.
Kaida puts Naruto in a headlock and restrains his arms. "Yeah, just committing a murder! Do we have any heavy duty trash bags?"
"We used the last one yesterday. You'll need to hold off Naruto's murder for the day," Kizashi calls out. Kaida frowns slightly before she reluctantly releases Naruto. He gasps for breath and quickly scrambles away from the pink haired girl.
"You better watch your back," She says before standing up and walking to her closet. "Get out. I need to get dressed."
Naruto is quick to leave, closing the door behind him. "Good morning Mebuki-oba, Zashi-oji! Is breakfast ready?"
Kaida's expression smooths into her cool mask while she slowly gets ready for the day. Instead of boxer braids, she braids her hair into two braids before styling them into twin buns, carefully putting in engraved silver pins to keep them up. She wears a short, jade green kimono dress with silver dragons embroidered along the hem, dark red spandex shorts, black ninja boots, and jade green fingerless gloves. A white ring was embroidered on the left sleeve of the kimono and the sleeves went past her fingers by an inch. The obi was dark red and was tied in a tight, compact bow.
"What are you trying to do, make yourself look like some noble girl?" Inner Kaida sneers slightly, making Kaida roll her eyes. She loosely ties her hitai-ate around her neck.
"I am technically a noble, Inner. But, if you really want an explanation, I want to appear unassuming," Kaida explains calmly, not taking Inner's bait. Inner Kaida doesn't answer, but the pink haired girl could clearly feel her disappointment.
Kaida walks downstairs with a small smile. "Naru, are you ready to go to Training Ground 7?"
Naruto looks up from his plate of food, mouth comically full with food as he froze crouched on top of the counter. He swallows the food in his mouth, still staring at the pink haired girl.
"Mom, Naru is crouching on the counter again!" Kaida calls out before making herself a plate of breakfast.
"Kaida!" Naruto whines, quickly getting off of the counter right before Mebuki walks in with a frown.
"Uzumaki Naruto, how many times do I have to tell you, counters are for placing things on them, not to stand–or crouch on!" Mebuki scolds lightly, making the blonde groan.
"Sorry Mebuki-oba," He says with a pout. Kaida smirks triumphantly while quickly eating her breakfast. Karma is a bitch.
"Kaida, leftovers from last night are in the fridge. Please tell Hinata I said hello." Mebuki turns and gives her youngest daughter a smile.
The pink haired girl nods her head, humming. "Of course, Mom. I'll see you after the test."
"Remember to tell Kakashi that if he doesn't visit soon, I'll hunt him down and hit him with a frying pan," The brunette says, making Kaida giggle.
"Mebuki, a chair would be better to use," Kizashi states from the living room. "Freak him out Kaida, Naruto!"
"Here is the leftovers," Kaida greets cheerfully, hanging from a low tree branch. Hinata jumps in surprise and glances up.
Naruto lands on the tree branch and sits down with a grin. "And breakfast!"
Hinata smiles softly and reaches up to grab both bags. She opens up the bag with her breakfast and begins eating.
"Thank you, Kaida-chan," Hinata says softly, making Kaida smile.
"Of course," Kaida swings off the branch and lands crouched next to the purple haired girl, "and Mom says hello."
Hinata hums softly, quickly finishing up her breakfast. She neatly places the silverware and empty containers in the now empty bag and closes it up.
"I'm free this weekend to come over. Training or should we go shopping?" She asks, glancing up at Kaida. The pink haired girl shrugs and takes out a book from out of nowhere.
"I'm stocked up on pretty much everything I need. Maybe some new fabrics? I know Naru-kun needs some more supplies," Kaida says, quickly flipping through the pages until she finds the place she last left off.
Hinata glances up at the incredibly pale blonde. "Supplies?"
"I'm planning on murdering him. He woke me up this morning." Naruto laughs nervously while he scratches the back of his head.
"Then shopping it is then. Will Sakura-chan be joining us?" Hinata asks, making Kaida hum in thought.
"Possibly," Kaida turns the page, "but I'm sure she'll want to hang out with her team."
"How long are we waiting for?" Naruto whines, falling backwards to hang from the tree branch upside down.
Kaida doesn't look up from her book. "A couple hours at most, so start getting comfortable."
Naruto sighs with a pout, just hanging there.
Six hours passed by when Kakashi finally showed up. Kaida was itching for blood.
"Hello, little students!" The silver haired man waves cheerfully.
Kaida glares darkly at her sensei, snapping her book closed. She throws the book at a sleeping Naruto and startles him awake.
"No, ramen!" Naruto shouts in despair, sitting up with his hand reached out. The blonde notices the book in his lap and turns to glare at the pink haired girl before spotting Kakashi. He gives the Jōnin a glare as well before standing up to.
"You're late," Kaida doesn't leave any room for excuses or arguments with her tone. She was exceptionally pissed off.
Kakashi just waves a hand in dismissal and seems to give the Genin a bright, careless smile. "Sorry, had some errands to run and lost track of time."
"Sure," Hinata states dryly, expression impassive. "And I assume watching us Genin for three of the six hours you were gone was 'errands'."
"Well, now that we're all here. Let's get to the test!" Kakashi ignores Hinata's statement and takes out two silver bells from one of his pockets. "Tada."
Kaida blinks in surprise when she saw the bells. "That fucker. We seriously doing this test? Talk about predictable."
"Inner," The pink haired girl scolds Inner Kaida before focusing on her sensei.
"So, the bell test then? I didn't take you for predictable, Kakashi-Sensei," Kaida says calmly, anger simmering down for the moment. Kakashi blinks in genuine surprise and stares at the pink haired girl like she grew another head.
"Uh..."
"My mother had told me to tell you, that if you don't visit soon, she'll hunt you down and hit you with a frying pan." Kaida fixes her hitai-ate. "Dad mentioned using a chair, since it's more effective."
Kaida straightens up her posture and gives Kakashi a small glare. "Now, if you had gotten here any sooner, I would have indulged you in this teamwork test. But, I am a bit... angry that I had six hours of the day wasted, because you wanted to scout us out. If you want to start our training to see where we are in terms of skill, I'll stay. If not, then I have many things to do."
"Kaida," Hinata scolds lightly with a sigh. Kaida frowns slightly before forcing her posture to relax.
"Apologies, I lost my temper." Kaida ignores Hinata's look at how blank she sounded.
"Uh... well, I guess this is out of the picture," Kakashi says while he stares down at the bells. He perks up and raises them again.
"Well," Kakashi continues, "even if my little test has already been found out, we're going through with it! It was meant to help me see how weak you three were anyways."
Kaida forces a deceptively calm smile on her face and nods her head. "I am going to assume that you will be harsher than before?"
"Yep!" Kakashi's states brightly. Kiada hums and glances at her best friends. They share a subtle nod.
"Well then, let's get to it!" Kaida takes out two smoke bombs and throws them to the ground. Kakashi blinks in surprise as the three Genin quickly dive into the forest surrounding them. Let the training begin.
