The first planet was a more forested area as Abathur spoke about what was going on that involved the first of the Hydralisk evolutions. "Planet Marek V. Swarm hive cluster under assault." Zooming into sight, a hive cluster tried to push forward, btu were quickly taken out by Firebats, Goliaths, and Siege Tanks as Kerrigan spoke about who they were.

"Prometheus company. The Dominion's infestation specialists. We need to move fast." Thankfully, Abathur had the answer in a slow, but powerful colony that remained Kerrigan of the Sunken Colonies and for good reason as Abathur explained.

"Essence nearby. Overmind creation: impaler colony. Slow attack, incredible damage. Collect essence. Adapt hydralisks. Defeat Dominion." Kerrigan's own Hydralisks moved in and dodged the impaler strikes before they killed it and got the essence, but it was not enough as Abathur spoke.

"Examining. Sequence incomplete. Must kill remaining impaler colonies."

"It's always something with these things to be honest." Soon, the last two Impaler Colonies were destroyed and the Hydralisks went into their cocoons as Abathur spoke.

"Sequence acquired. Spinning impaler essence into hydralisk morph." The hydralisks emerged differently before Abathur continued. "Hydralisks now able to morph into impalers." They then started to mutate and what emerged were quite the near-familiar form of the old Lurkers from the Brood Wars, but larger grooves for the same sort of attack was different as Abathur spoke. "Impaler attacks while burrowed. Damages single target, tears through armor." They moved out as Zerg Pods dropped in to destroy the rocks and unleash more Impalers as Kerrigan commanded.

"Move to the high ground and assault their barricade from above." The Impalers burrowed down and unleashed their heavy attacks to the Dominion's surprise.

"Something just busted outta the ground!" That Siege Tank got hurled with remorse and an explosion before the barrier started to break completely.

"Aw, hell no! Retreat!" They retreated with losing numbers as Abathur spoke.

"Dominion barricade destroyed." The way was cleared down by Marauders and they were killed before Kerrigan spotted a Missile Turret, the detector a threat to the Impalers who needed to burrow to launch their attacks.

"That missile turret can detect our impalers while burrowed. Take it out first."

"Keep it together!" But Bunkers and other defenses were not enough as Abathur continued with the barricades ruined with additional Zerglings moving in to 'clean up'.

"Barricades destroyed. Only Prometheus Company base remains." The Impalers moved in to tear apart the Thors and Planetary Fortress in the way before the test was concluded. "Terran forces eliminated. Alternative hydralisk morph possible. Surviving lurker dens discovered." This, Kerrigan needed to see...

The planet was of a more arid world, but Kerrigan didn't hold her fury back, this world was where the traitor Cerebrate had raised his brood to fight her, to prevent her control over the Swarm before she calmed, it was no use in being angry at a being that has long since perished to her command as Abathur spoke. "Planet Calvir. Once: birthing colony for Daggoth's brood. Now: feral." Feral was no good as she reached out and took the minds of those that were of the most value right now. "Feral lurkers. Survivors of inter-Swarm conflict."

"I can control them but I can't morph more."

"Key transformation sequence missing. Requires lurker den." A Lurker Den was nearby as Abathur continued. "Secure nearby den. Return essence to Swarm control." That was simple enough, but the feral Zerg were going to make it difficult... very difficult as Kerrigan reached out and growled that her control was not taking the Zerg, even with her new power, so something else was preventing her as she commanded.

"The feral Zerg have sensed us! Burrow, quickly!" The Lurkers did so and ripped the Zerglings to pieces as Abathur detailed.

"Lurker, attacks many foes while burrowed. Effective against light enemies." They moved on to more Zerg in the path.

"More feral Zerg. Burrow quickly and attack!" Even feral Hydralisks were no match for the spine waves as they were killed and the Lurkers pressed on to the Den as Abathur spoke.

"Destination reached. Broodmother Kilysa inbound to extract essence. Overlords en route." Kilysa had proved her worth, so that was good, but it was not good to have the feral Zerg trying to destroy the Lurker Den.

"I sense the feral Zerg moving... They're attacking from the south! Defend the lurker den!" The Lurkers burrowed at the ramp as Zerglings and Banelings came charging to their deaths before Kerrigan spoke again to the north. "Another wave incoming! Keep them off the lurker den!" Zerglings and Hydralisks were easy, but the armored Roaches gave a bit of trouble before they were done in and the Overlords arrived with Broodmother Kilysa dropping to extract the essence.

"Feral Zerg defeated. Broodmother ready to extract essence." She started to do so and Kerrigan was close to calling it good before Abathur spoke. "New strain detected. Origin, Zerus." Kerrigan raised her brow to find out what was on Zerus that could help mutate the Hydralisk more...

She took in the more volcanic regions of Zerus as Abathur explained. "Strain located in lava valleys. Ash worm spits fire. Can burn enemies. Collect Essence, kill creature." The swarm of Hydralisks were fast in hitting the Ash Worm before it burrowed away and the creatures chased it down before they killed it. "Ash Worm essence acquired, spinning essence into Hydralisk Killer form." What emerged from the cocoons were similiar to the actual Hunter Killers, but were more different as their spines seemed to be popping and sparking randomly as Abathur spoke. "Hostile Primal Zerg detected. Former Yagdra Pack."

"Let's test them out." With that, the new evolution attacked the Primal Zerg that won't bend as Abathur commented.

"Pyrolisk fires fire spines which combust to nearby foes. Deals damage in wide area." With that, the Zerglings were torched from clustering up and the Hydralisks were not able to output that much damage before even the trying Ultralisk was set to the flame before Abathur spoke. "Primal uprising thwarted, test successful. Must prepare sequences for hydralisk morph. Returning to evolution pit."

Kerrigan returned from the short visions to take in the three Hydralisks, taking them all in as she pondered them. Impalers were good for heavy damage and on armored targets, but Lurkers were excellent in dealing with many foes at once and even better against light armor. The Pryolisk was a different matter as it retained its Hydralisk form, but it had increased damage in its spines and those dealt area damage in both air and ground combat.

The choice as difficult, but she smiled as she liked having an old classic on her side. "Prime the Lurkers for the Swarm, the Impalers and Pryolisks are for any other Brood wishing to use them."

"Acknowledge, Lurker will serve Swarm primarily while others serve minor roles. Evolution complete." Now it was time, time to leave Zerus and return to the Koprulu sector to dethrone Mengsk form his little throne...
