Wow, okay. So, so, so, so sorry about the extra long wait. Just when I thought that I'll be able to write more, my mom took my tablet away. So anyway, this chapter will be way more with the whole jily thing, literally the whole point of this fanfic. Also I'll probably be posting even less than normal because school started last week for me (I'm Canadian) and my school work will definitely get more in the way of things. Anyway on to the chapter.

Lily's POV
I could tell that my best friends were planning something, but every time I asked, they made some lame excuse. I really needed to know what was going on.
"James." I asked, sitting in the head common room.
He hummed in response.
"Marlene, Alice, Dorcas, and Mary are up to something, but I don't know what."
He looked up at me from his essay. "Well knowing Marlene, it could be anything, but the other three… Is there anything that they're trying to prove that involves you?" he asked me.
I thought for a while. "I don't think so… wait! Yes there is."
He nodded. "That's probably it then."
"Thanks. You were more helpful than I expected." i said, slightly surprised.
"Are you saying that I don't know what I'm talking about?" he asked in mock offence. I smiled at him and he grinned back.

As we walked to the quidditch pitch for early training before the game, Marlene and Dorcas were talking about something in hushed voices.
"Can you guys get the equipment from the shed?" Mary asked James and I.
"Sure." he replied.
We dropped our bags and walked towards the shed. As soon as we stepped into the shed, I heard the door slam shut. James and I banged on the door.
"Let us out." James shouted.
I heard giggling out the door, and immediately knew who was behind this.
"MARLENE! I'LL GET YOU GUYS!" I screamed.
"If you can get out first." Dorcas teased.
"Marlene, let us out of here, and I might not tell Aunt Melissa." James said.
"You wouldn't." she said, shocked.
"I would."
"Oh well, getting yelled at or a howler will be worth it. See you."
"Marlene, let us out!" I yelled. No response. "Dorcas?" Still no response. "Oh, what's the use. They won't let us out until the game."
James nodded. Then his eyes lit up. "Do you have your wand? You can blast the door open."
"I left it with the rest of my stuff." I said. "What about you."
He shook his head. "Same."
"Crap." I muttered.
We both slumped against opposite walls.

James checked his watch for probably the hundredth time.
"It's only 10:30." he said.
"They better let us out for lunch. I'm starving." I muttered. I stood up. "And my entire body hurts."
James laughed.
"It's not funny." I said.
"It's a little funny." he said, stifling his laughter.
"Maybe a little." I said.
He stood up too.
"I get what you mean though." he said.
We both fell silent. James walked toward me and only stopped when he was literally 1 centimetre away from me.
"Listen, Lily," he said softly."I know that I told you that I wouldn't ask you out anymore," I looked up into his hazel eyes, and for once in my life I wished that he would ask me out. "But I can't pretend that I don't still like you." He paused. "No that's a lie. I love you."
I felt my breath catch in my throat, then I kissed him. I don't even know what is happening but I think about him all the time, and now I know why. James pulled away and stared at me. I purposely avoided his eyes, but his were trained on me just like at the end of last year.
I walked away from him and picked up the crate that held the Quaffle, the bludgers, and the snitch. James grabbed the other end of it and we lifted it from the ground. Just then, the door opened. Marlene and Dorcas were on the other side grinning like the idiots they are.
"We got the equipment." I grumbled.
"Good. You know where to put it." Sirius' voice called.
"I swear I'll kill them one day." James muttered under his breath.
"What?" Marlene yelled, in a sing-song voice.
"Nothing." He yelled back.

Most people were dressed in red and gold to support Gryffindor.
"Okay guys, this is the first game against Slytherin, so look alive. Actually no, be alive. We all know that Slytherin is filled with a bunch of lying scumbags, but unfortunately that doesn't mean that they're not good." James said. A few people laughed.
"And here comes the Slytherin team….." Remus' voice said, echoing through the pitch.
We walked out of the change room.
"And the Gryffindor team! Chasers Frank Longbottom, Lily Evans, and Mary MacDonald, Beaters Sirius Black, and Marlene Mckinnon, and Seeker James Potter." Remus said.

"We won." James said breathlessly.
I smiled. "Yeah. Well, I'm going to go to the library to finish my essay. Good night James." I said.
"Night Lils."
"W-What?!"
"Your friends call you Lils. Why can't I?"
"James Potter, you are the world's biggest prat." I replied with a laugh.

Studying is hard when you have a certain person's on your mind. For me that was James Freaking Potter. I couldn't get him out of my mind. That's when I heard a familiar voice.
"Hi."
"James? What are you doing here?" I asked. "It's late."
"I couldn't sleep." He said, pathetically.
I rolled my eyes. "Fine, you found me. What do you want?"
"Actually I wanted to apologize."
"Apologize?"
"For the broom closet incident."
"Oh. Right." I sighed. "James, I need to tell you something."
"Okay."
"...Oooh boy. This is a lot harder than I expected. Despite the fact that I've despised you for I don't know how long..."
"Look Lily, I get it. You hate, and probably only kissed me to shut me up. I'll leave you alone now." James turned to leave.
"James, I think I like you." I blurted out.
He turned back grinning. "You think or you know."
"I know." James sat down across from me.
"I was wondering when you were going to come around." He said, still grinning like an idiot.
I felt myself blush.
"Shut up." I said.
James just smiled and kissed me.

Here we are. I don't know how many more chapters I'm going to write now, but I do now that I'll be updating a lot less now. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and let me know if there's anything that you want in this fic (ships, events, etc). And I think that's it. See you guys in the next chapter.
