Continued-

Vivian shook her head slowly. "Actually I am single. I was meeting with an officer in regards to restraining order processes." She eyed Gemma carefully, her brown eyes taking in the older woman's demeanor. "I appreciate your concern with my life, it's rather endearing but I assure you all is well."

"Oh, a restraining order? What for? Got some crazy boyfriend around here?" Gemma raised an incredulous brow to the brunette across the room from her.

Vivian shook her head again, never breaking eye contact with Gemma. "Not that it is any of your concern but I like to keep up to date with procedures and protocols when it comes to ensuring the safety of myself, my patients and my team of obstetric doctors. Today was restraining orders, tomorrow will be domestic violence and training to promote self-defense. Would you like to join me?"

"Wow, I didn't know you did all of that. That is amazing." Wendy smiled at her friend as she finished folding the basket of clothes and set them on the coffee table in front of her. "I didn't know you were so interested in Vivian, Gemma. She really is a great doctor, she did deliver Abel and he's perfect."

Gemma rolled her eyes. "I am sure you are just a peachy good doctor."

"Does it bother you?" Vivian inquired as she continued her gaze that was still set on the older woman. "Me being a successful doctor? Does that bother you? Would you rather I be an inexperienced one trying to deliver your grandson and possibly killing him and Wendy in the process."

The older woman rolled her eyes again as she stood up, passing her grandson off to Wendy. "I need to get started at the office. I'll see you later, Jackson."

"Wow." Wendy watched her ex mother-in-law leave the house before she looked at Jax. "I have never seen that before. She was speechless."

Jax chuckled softly as he nodded, getting up from his seat to sit down beside Wendy. "She was pissed. I can tell. Good thing he didn't wake up though, he doesn't need to hear her nonsense."

Jax Teller looked up from his place at the bar where he was sitting, nursing a beer as he continued to flip through pages of a book he'd found. A memoir. A thick stack of papers that had been placed in a black binder to make it easier to read. He noticed the look on his best friend's face and he sighed. "What now?"

"Got kicked out because I'm going on the Modesto run this weekend." Opie shrugged lazily as he sat down beside the blonde young man. "What are you doing here? Figured you'd be home with your family."

Jax shook his head. "Nah, giving Wendy her space with Abel. Her sister came in from Sacramento so she is helping out. I don't want to bother her too much." He shrugged as he watched Opie sit down beside him. "It's crazy, man. I know we were never meant to be together but damn, she's changed so much and it's amazing to see this new 'mom' side to her. The guy has only been here for a few days and she's great with him. I feel like I'm playing catch-up."

"Donna wasn't really like that. She wouldn't do much with the kids for the first few months. She'd stay in bed or on the sofa just in a daze or sleeping." Opie shrugged again as he looked at his best friend. "Is that your phone?"

Jax nodded as he pulled the phone out of his pocket and flipped it open. "Hey, what's up?" He scooted his bar stool backwards and got up, leaving the area and making his way to the back dorms. He sighed heavily as he listened to the voice of his ex girlfriend on the other end. She was crying and upset, he could barely make out her words as she tried to speak between her sniffling. "You gotta slow down, Tara. Just talk to me."

"Can you just please come over? I'm still at the hospital."

September 25, 2008

A week since he'd seen Vivian Anderson, he hadn't heard from the petite brunette either but he was determined to find out why. He couldn't think of one reason why they'd not be talking, normally they spoke every day. He looked up as the elevator doors slowly slid open and he stepped out onto the Labor and Delivery floor of St. Thomas. He cut a left and moved towards the open office door where he saw Vivian sitting with Tara.

He stopped walking to observe the scene. Did Vivian know? Was she upset? He watched the woman talk to each other for a moment before he simply backpedaled only to stop at the sound of his name being called, Gemma Teller Morrow. He sighed as he turned around to face his mother.

"Ma."

"Jackson." Gemma raised an perfect yet incredulous eyebrow at the young man. "What are you doing here? Does Wendy have a check up?"

Jax shook his head. "Oh no, she's at home with Abel. They're good. I came for myself."

"What did the good doctors say? Are you pregnant?" Gemma started to smirk at the man. "Or did you get lost on labor and delivery?"

Jax shrugged. "Awaiting the results. What about you? Am I getting a little sister this time?"

"Absolutely not. I'd die if I had a girl." Gemma scoffed and shook her head slowly. "You are just enough to deal with, Jackson. Which doctor is it you're wanting to see? The new one or the old bitch?"

Jax shrugged lazily. "Which one is it you like the least? That's the one I came for today."

"Tara, well I have never liked her. But this new one? I don't know, I definitely don't trust her, son." Gemma nodded her head as she gestured to the pair of doctors walking out of the office. "I think you should stay away from both of them."

Jax shook his head again. "Good thing I quit taking your advice, ma. I gotta go, I will see you later ok?" He turned, walking off toward the women before he and Vivian slipped off back towards her office.

"Tara! Lovely to see you here. How is your return going?" Gemma waited for Tara to continue walking her direction and she plastered one of her smiles on her face.

Tara stopped in front of the older woman, adjusting her bag. "Well I work here so it wouldn't be farfetched. It is going just fine. Getting used to being back and trying to clean up all of my dad's stuff."

"That is right, you do. At first I was beginning to think all of Jax's bed buddies were starting a club together or something." Gemma shrugged with a grin on her face. "He was a bit of a packrat, wasn't he?"

Later in the day

Vivian walked into her home, setting down her bags on the bench in the small foyer before she slipped out of her Nike sneakers and slipped on her ice blue crocs. She walked back outside to the front yard and turned to stare up at her house. It was a burnt orange color and the more she looked at it, the more she hated it. The more she wanted to just go to Lowe's herself to grab exterior paint but she stood still. Staring up at the house and replaying the conversation she had with Jax Teller in her head.

She was an adult though, she couldn't act like a petulant teen girl who got her feelings a little hurt. They were all adults, her relationship with Jax Teller was casual and now she couldn't say if she was a hundred percent done. There were definite feelings between the pair and she did love him, they had become very close over the course of their time knowing each other but she didn't want to be intimate with him any longer. Especially if he was sleeping with other people. She sighed heavily as she crossed her arms over her chest and started to look around her front yard before her brown eyes landed on the approaching sedan. Silver in color.

She moved toward the sedan as it came to a stop, watching her sister exit the passenger seat of the car as her sister's husband exited the driver's seat. She sighed again, this is not what she needed.

"Nice plan but ugly paint job." Isabel Anderson-Valdez stated plainly as she stared up at the home, her brown eyes taking in the beauty of the design. She was as short as Vivian, standing at five foot two with long brown hair that was always curled into loose waves. "What are you doing out here like a weirdo? You look like you're going to shoot it up or something."

Vivian looked back at her sister as she rolled her eyes. "Don't be a bitch, Isabel. It's not attractive." She pointed to her grass. "Checking my garden, is that ok with you or do I need to give you a call next time?"

"Here we go." Eric Valdez mumbled as he shook his head. "Why do you two always argue and fight? Let it go and start being nice, this shit is annoying." He moved to Vivian, pulling her into a one-armed hug. "Hey Viv, how have you been?" Eric had been a part of the family for almost ten years, married to Isabel for six years. He was tall, dark brown eyes and matching hair that was cut short but he kept it spiked.

The younger sister accepted the hug and nodded. "I'm good, how about you? Where is Ariana?"

"Mom and dad stole her once again." Isabel nodded slowly, starting to smile. "Well Ryan stole her and they all went to dinner. I haven't heard from my only sister in weeks so I thought I would come check in and check out this new house. Charming? Weird name for a town."

Viv started to respond but stopped and looked toward the street at the sound of two motorcycles coming down the road, her brown eyes grew big and she inwardly groaned. "It is but I like it so I am good with it. Can't rename a town anymore. The offer at the hospital was something I didn't want to refuse. I run my own team and I have a good team." She watched the motorcycles come to a stop in front of her house and she sighed. "Excuse me, I'll be right back."

"Who the hell are they?" Isabel started following her sister toward the parked motorcycles. "Can we help you?"

Vivian rolled her eyes. "Mr. Teller, is everything ok? Did you or your wife try calling me?"

"Wha-?" Jax stopped, looking at Vivian before he shook his head. "Yes, we did. She wanted to see about getting a check up." He looked at Isabel and nodded firmly. "Sorry to bother you both like this, worried wife with a new baby."

Vivian nodded slowly. "I'm sorry, I've been out here and my phone is inside. I can schedule a check up for her tomorrow, I'll give her a call. Let her know to come by the hospital around nine."

"Thanks doc. Appreciate it." Jax nodded again as he watched the brunette women start to walk off and he mounted his Harley, turning to look at Opie beside him. "What the fuck was that?"

.

.

.

"Did you piss her off?" Opie looked at his best friend as they sat at a lone picnic table at one Charming's few parks. "What happened there man?"

Jax nodded his head slowly. "Remember the other night when we were drinking then I got a call and I left? It was Tara. She was upset, something about some guy making her feel uncomfortable and shit. So I get there with her and I slept with her like a fucking dumbass." He scoffed. "I don't even know if we were serious, but she literally just said ok when I told her then asked me to leave. Now this shit."

"You are a fucking dumbass." Opie shook his head. "I know you used to love Tara man but she ran off, she wanted you to leave too and when you said no, she took off even sooner than planned." He sighed heavily. "She's good man, she's nice and puts up with your shit. She doesn't ask questions, she just accepts what we do. No questions, no judgment. Why would you mess with that?"

Jax shook his head as he looked down at the ground. "She is too good, man. She doesn't need our shit in her life. Maybe I am saving her."

AN: Heeeyyyyy friends. Here's another chapter. I've been working on this one for a few weeks now and finally got this chapter on track with this timeline I will be following. The next few chapters introduce Vivian's family (Her brother and sister have now been introduced.) but also shedding light on Vivian's character and where she comes from and having to deal with her feelings for Jax and him being himself.

I am by no means a Tara fan, there are some parts of her that are not so bad but all in all, not a fan. If anyone wants to discuss my opinion of the character, feel free to message me. She will not necessarily be the villain in this story but she is no saint here either.

Vivian is written as strong, smart and careful. Her career is important to her, not dealing with her family's bullshit is also a goal on her daily tasks. Any questions, ask away.

Again, I am not abandoning this story or any other story I am writing. I may take a while to update but please remember I do have a personal life as well.
