Erin walked into the kitchen with Jays shirt on. Jay was grabbing a beer out of the fridge, he passed one to her as she leant up against the counter.

Erin sighed happily, "Wow. I forgot how much I missed that, oh and you too I guess."

Jay was still trying to catch his breathe, "That's for sure, just needed to rehydrate." He said motioning to his beer.

"Good idea, I hope your ready for round four." she raised her eyebrow at him smiling.

"I'm always ready."

He lifted her up onto the kitchen counter and started to kiss her again. Erin stopped him and jumped off, he was confused as he watched her take a couple steps back.

"Move in with me."

"I don't want anything more then to move in with you, I just hope it works this time round." Jay said with a smile, hoping this time it would stick.

"Well let's promise something?"

"Sure."

"We be open and honest with each other. If we've had a bad day we talk about it. We gotta be there for each other. No more secrets."

"Cheers to that," Jay said as they both clinked there glasses together, "Now where were we?" He began kissing her again as they walked towards the bedroom.

...

On their way to work the next morning Erin couldn't stop looking at Jay. He glanced over to her and smiled, "What the hell do you keep looking at me for?"

"I'm just happy, really happy."

"Me too." He reached over and grabbed her hand bringing it up to his lips to kiss.

They pulled up at the district and walked in, Jay had his arm wrapped around Erins waist up until they walked through the doors and then he let her go acting completely casual. They both said hello to Platt and buzzed there way upstairs. Erin sat at her desk and Jay walked up to Voights door and knocked "Hey Voight can I speak to you quickly?"

"Sure come in, what's up Halstead?"

"I want to ask Erin to marry me and I want to get your permission before I do because I know how much it would mean to her if we had your approval." He waited patiently as Voight slowly stood up from his chair and walked towards Jay inches from him.

"Jay I told you from the start to keep it in your pants. And you continued to disobey my orders. I only had one rule, Erin was off limits. Yet somehow you just kept ignoring everything I said," he paused, the look on Jays face was priceless, but it soon went relaxed when Hank held his hand out, "And I'm so glad you did. You make her happy and that makes me happy."

Jay sighed with relief as he shook Voight's hand, that was intimidating. "Thanks sarge, really thanks."

"Thats all then?" Voight asked as Jay nodded, "Okay then get out of my office, and shut the door."

Jay went and sat at his desk and he couldn't keep the smile off his face. So he got back up and made his way to the coffee room. Hailey seen the happiness on his face, she couldn't help her curiosity so she followed him in.

Hailey walked in slapped Jay on the shoulder, "Hey there old partner what's got you in such a happy mood?"

"Oh nothing, nothing at all." Jay smiled but kept it hidden.

"Oh really? Then since when does one walk out of Voights office with such a big grin on his face?"

Suddenly Ruzek walked in and straight up asked Jay, "You asking Lindsay to marry you?"

Hailey's jaw dropped as she pointed towards him, "Oh you so are!" She said with excitement.

Jay motioned her to stay quiet, "Sh. Yeh maybe, I just thought I'd get the father figures approval first."

"Really happy for you man only took her coming back for you to put a ring on it. Don't screw it up this time." Ruzek hugged Jay as he walked out.

"Yeh me too Jay, look at you two who would of thought? I'm kidding I so need to get my 50 off Atwater." She laughed walking out.

Jay walked out into the bullpen and noticed his brother standing there. "Hey Will! What's up bro?"

Will stood there with a puzzled look on his face, "Hey man, you rang me remember?"

"Oh yeh that's right, follow me?" He led Will outside of the district, "I'm going to do it."

"Do what?"

"Ask Erin to marry me, I know we have only been back together for a few months but it's the happiest and strongest we've ever been. I think it's the perfect time." Jay smiled.

"Aw man that's great, I'm really happy for you too," Will said bringing his brother in for a hug, "Jay I have to ask you something though because I have your best interest at heart."

"Okay what?" Jay said confused.

"Did Erin tell you what happened after she was shot? With the surgery? How it affected her?"

"What are you getting at Will?" Jay said bluntly wanting him to get to the point.

"She can't have kids Jay, well it's a slim chance that she can and even then there is a high possibility of complications." Will said sadly, he knew Jay always wanted a family, definitely not now but he always pictured himself with a house in the suburbs and a big family.

"She only just told me, so she knew this whole time and you didn't say a thing?" Jay said as he started getting angrier.

"Erin made me promise, she wanted to be the one to tell you. I just didn't expect her to wait until this long. I'm sorry Jay."

"Just forget it man, hey I will catch you later yeh?" Quickly hugging his brother he stormed off.

Jay was confused and upset, why did she wait so long to tell him when his own brother knew? He walked straight to her desk but she wasn't there she was over talking to Al. "Hey Erin, got a sec?" She turned and walked over to the lockers with him.

"Will knew for a month and you only just told me? Why? What happened to no secrets?"

"The no secrets thing was agreed on last night remember and it wasn't really a secret it was...I was...It was just something I wanted to tell you at the right time." She said trying to find the right words.

"Erin theres never a right time with us, you gotta realise that!" He started to talk louder as he got frustrated.

"Jay you gotta lower your voice." She said bluntly.

As they starting to feel tension and things started to get heated they noticed Atwater and Burgess were about to walk in but they heard the two of them, made awkward eye contact apologised and quickly walked back out.

"Okay I'm sorry, it's just I feel like after everything we've been through I would have hoped you could have confined in me a little more."

"Of course I wanted to Jay, trust me. But I was doing it because I didn't want to hurt you. I didn't care about myself. All I thought about was how you would feel about it. I'm sorry I should of just hardened up and told you straight away, I'm sorry. I just know you want a family and I don't know if I can give you that, and I hate myself for that."

"No god Erin what am I thinking I'm in the wrong here. You told me when you were ready and I'm okay with that. I'm sorry, I just hate that you felt like you couldn't tell me. I wish I could have been there for you," he said bringing her in for a hug.

"Okay good. Again I'm sorry but lets go eat, you can drive," she said as she threw the keys to Jay trying to lighten the mood.
