Chapter 7 - Ghost Town
Allie's POV (Sweet But Psycho - Ava Max)
I woke up snuggled up to Nik's chest. I was wearing his shirt from yesterday. I sat up and I saw Elijah looking at me and Nik.
I rub my eyes again, "No your not losing it Miss Gilbert. I believe Miss Bennett accidently let the barrier to other side down." He told me.
Nik sat up, "Bloody hell." He said out loud. I looked at him when Rebekah rang me.
I picked up, "Allie, did Nik undagger Kol because he is with me?" She asked me.
"Nope he didn't. Elijah is looking at me and Nik right now. Elijah said Bonnie let down the barrier to the other side." I told her.
"Well that is a big issue." Kol said on Rebekah's end.
"Bonnie can't do anything right." I muttered.
I hear Rebekah laugh. "Well if ghosts are roaming around, I'm making the most of it. With my brother." She told me, hanging up.
"So this is awkward." I said, feeling very embarrassed about being in Nik's shirt.
"I'm sorry Allie, I will leave to let you and my brother to get dressed. I have much to talk to you two about." He told us.
He left, I turned to Nik to ask him a question. He put his finger to his lips and pointed to his ears. Right Elijah could be listening.
I mouthed, 'What's the plan?'
He sighed, 'We will figure it out. I'll ring Kai.' he told me. I got up and got dressed.
I was wearing a white crop top, blue jeans, white sneakers and a leather jacket. We met Elijah downstairs, "So how about we get some food and talk this over?" I asked.
Elijah nodded, "Yes sounds like a plan." He told me.
Nik grabbed my hand, "Come on, I know a nice place. Plus I have wolves to turn also." Nik said to Elijah and I.
Jeremy walked downstairs, "I just saw Anna, she said something is wrong." He told us all.
We nodded, "We know, do you want to come with us?" I asked Jeremy, he nodded.
We walked off towards a restaurant. We sat down in a booth. I was by the window Nik was sitting next to me. Elijah was sitting across from the both of us.
"So Allie, is Elena alive?" He asked me.
I sighed, "Yes thanks to Damon and Bonnie linking my dad John to her life." I told him.
He looked at me, it was still a sore subject. "So that's both sets of parents that Elena has managed to get killed." I told Elijah.
Nik pulled me into a hug, "It's ok, love. Remember what I said. Rebekah and I were your family now. You have Jeremy also." He told me.
Elijah smiled at me, "I'm sorry Allie. I didn't know that they did that." He told me, "So what is going on between you and my brother Niklaus?" He asked me.
Nik chuckled, "She is my soulmate Elijah." He told him.
Elijah nodded, "Don't let her go brother." He told him.
"I won't brother, I must tell you. Damon seeks to wake up Mikael." He told him.
Elijah sighed, "I'm gonna kill that damn Damon." He said to Nik and I.
I giggled, "I must remind you to get in line. He has compelled me, killed my best friend Vickie, and tormented Caroline." I told him.
Elijah and Nik look at me, "We need to find Kai to remove any compulsion from Jeremy and yourself." Nik looked at Elijah.
He nodded, "A witch will be able to strip away the compulsion." Elijah told me.
I nodded, "Well we better find Kai then." I said to them both. They nodded, Rebekah messaged me telling me that Kol and her were keeping an eye on Stefan. Nik saw the message and nodded.
I saw Jeremy look at a girl, "Anna asked will he be able to bring her back from the dead?" He asked Klaus.
"Maybe? I'll ask him, let's go and find him." He said to us all.
Elena's POV
Myself and Alaric are sitting outside the Mystic Grill. Stefan's journals are on the table.
"Can we just drop it, please?" Ric asked me.
"No, I can't drop it, Ric. I don't know what else to do." I told him.
He sighed, "Don't you think we have a few too many dead vampires in our past to be sitting here thinking of them watching us?" He said to me.
Stefan arrives and sits down in the empty seat.
"Hey, guys. Who forgot to invite me to the family summit?" He asked me, he sees the journals and takes one and looks through it. "Hmm? Wow. All these words. I forgot how much I used to care." He said to me.
"I didn't." I told him.
He smirked, "You know, Elena, it's probably best you not torture yourself with memories from the past. It's best we both just move on and accept things as they are."
"You don't have to be here, Stefan." Alaric told him.
Stefan looked at him, "You know what, Alaric, you're right. I don't. But Elena's here, and I look out for Elena. Besides, there's going to be people everywhere tonight. So there's going to be lots to eat." He said to me, I looked at him, shocked but he just laughed. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. Loosen up." He gets up and leaves.
I look at Alaric, "I can't drop it, Ric." I told him.
Stefan POV
I was walking down a street and saw Lexi's reflection in a car window. I turned around and she's standing before me.
"Lexi!" I shouted.
"Hi!" She said to me.
"You're dead." I said to her.
She looked at me, "Well, technically, so are you." She said to me.
"Then how the hell can I see…" I said to her, she cut me off.
"See me? Yeah, I have no idea. And I have no idea how long it's going to last, so let's get right to the point. You're off the rails. Big time." She told me. Oh here we go.
"Look, I don't know how you're here, but you need to leave me alone, okay?" I told her, going to move away but Lexi grabbing my arm and stopping me.
"Now what kind of a friend would I be if I didn't help you out of this mess you're in?" She asked me.
God where was Allie when I needed her, "I don't want your help." I told her.
"You know, you say that every time. "I don't want your help. I don't want to get better. Leave me alone." She said to me.
"Well, maybe you should listen this time." I told her.
"Or maybe I should do this." She said before smashing my head against a car window. I blacked out.
Allie's POV (Pressure - Paramore)
We found a Kai, "Good to see you Klaus." He said to him.
"I need a big favour. I need you to remove compulsion?" He asked Kai.
"Sure no problem." He looked at me and Jeremy.
"Hey, Allie right?" He asked me.
I nodded, "Now this will hurt a lot. I'm sorry for any pain you may feel Niklaus." She told us both.
I took a deep breath, he started chanting Latin. I clutched my head in pain, I was trying not to scream out loud. I dropped to my knees, Nik was whispering in my ear. "It's ok love."
"She has power deep down, something locked away." He said as he continued the spell.
All my memories they took from me came flooding back. Damon, he nearly killed me twice to him tormenting Caroline. He turned Vickie out of boredom.
Elena, ordering Damon to compel me to forget that he killed Jeremey.
Every single thing they took from me, I met Stefan first before Elena. Damon almost killed me and Caroline when she turned.
I met Katherine that night, she was nice to me unlike my sister. My parents got Bonnie's grandma to lock away a power I never knew I had.
Kai stopped, "It's done. I'm sorry they took your memories from you. You are a siphoner, like me." Kai told me.
I nodded, Nik helped me up. "Thank you. Wait what's a siphoner." I told her.
He nodded, "You can siphon witches magic and use it as your own. If you turn, you will be a hybrid. You rest and I'll help Jeremy." He said Klaus.
"Allie, what do you remember?" Elijah asked me.
"Everything, that I met Stefan first, he was sweet. Damon compelled me to forget that and he has bitten me more times that I can count. He turned my best friend Vickie out of boredom then Elena killed her. My adoptive parents asked Bonnie's grandma to lock away my power and take my memory away." I told him, taking a break.
"I met Katherine, she was sweet, Damon trying to kill me and Caroline after she turned. Elena, she told Damon to take all my memories from me. It's still coming back in bits." I told them.
Nik looked pissed, "Well once we return to Mystic Falls I am going to kill Damon." Nik said to me and Elijah.
Elijah nodded, "No one hurts my family and gets away with it." Elijah told me.
I looked at him and nodded, "That took a lot out of me." I told them both. Jeremy was given his memories back also.
"Come on, love. Let's go back to the hotel so you can rest. Elijah, can you watch Allie for me, I need to make more Hybrid." He told him.
Elijah nodded, we headed back to the hotel we were staying at.
Elena's POV
Lexi had found me, she was giving me a ripper detox 101. Stefan is tied to a chair in the basement cell sleeping with his head bowed. Lexi and I were looking at him.
"Klaus really did a number on him, huh?" She asked me.
I nodded, "He compelled him to turn off his humanity." I told her.
"Well, we're just going to have to convince him to turn it back on. I have to warn you, it's not going to be pretty." She told me.
"I can handle it." I told her, she nodded and kicked Stefan.
"Wake up, sleepyhead." She said to him.
Stefan wakes up. "How you feelin'?" She asked him. He looked at the chair and the chains and struggled with the restraints.
"What is this? Let me out of here!" He shouted at her
"Shh. Inside voices, please. I'm trying to get inside your head." She told him.
"Elena. Get rid of her, please." He told me.
"No." I said to him.
"First step, drying him out. Starve away the blood lust. Strip away the temptation." She said to me.
He looked at her, "This isn't going to work, Lexi. You can't do this." He told her.
"You heard the not pretty part?" Lexi asked me.
I nodded, "I heard you." I said to her.
Lexi leans in front of him and looks Stefan in the eyes. "What are you doing?" He asked her then he suddenly started to growl in pain. His arms and hands start to desiccate.
"What are you doing, Lexi?!" He screamed.
"Doing what I do best, sweetness. I'm saving your life." She told him. From the outside, Stefan's skin looks fine, free of any desiccation.
Stefan POV
"I'm starving! I'm starving! I'm starving! Let me out! Let me out. Please let me out." I begged them.
"What's happening?" Elena asked Lexi.
"He's hallucinating. That's three months without any blood." Lexi told her.
"Let me out! Where's Allie?" I begged.
"Now he's at nine months. Two years...Five." Lexi told Elena.
"Did I ever tell you how glad I am that you're dead?" I told her.
"Oh. I missed you, too, friend." Lexi smugly said to me, Elena leaves the room.
"Why are you asking about Allie?" Elena asked me as she walked back in.
"She saw me like this plus, during the summer she never treated me like this. She never wanted me to change because I'm her best friend." I told her, she looked jealous.
"Don't listen. Shut him out." Lexi told Elena.
Elena looked at me, "I am helping you, Stefan. I want the old you back." She told me.
All I could think about is finding Allie and telling her that she was right Elena is just like Katherine. "I'll do anything. I'll change. I promise." I told her.
"It's a lie. He'll say anything right now." Lexi told her.
"Elena, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Just make it stop. Please, just make it stop." I begged her.
Lexi looked at Elena, "You have to separate yourself from your emotions. Don't let him play on them." She told her.
"Hey, look at me. Look at me." Elena looks at me. "Elena. I love you, okay? I love you. I love you so much. I love you so much, Elena." I told her, not really meaning it.
"I'm sorry, Stefan, I just don't believe you." She said to me.
"You know what? I don't want your help, anyway. I wish I'd never met you. Every single moment that I've spent with you has been a complete and total waste. Allie was right, you're just another Katherine. Katherine told me you kissed Damon when Klaus was making me a ripper all summer long." I told her, letting all my hate out.
"You see that? That's the ripper talking. Once he's weak enough, you have to cause him pain. Make him feel things. Anger, rage, anything. You have to make him see past the blood." She said to her, she drives a stake through my body then pulls it out.
"Think of it as a regimen. Day in and day out. Like running the treadmill. Like making coffee. Until he's ready to be saved." She added.
"I will rip you apart, Lexi!" I shouted at her.
Lexi smirked at me, "You can't. I'm already dead." She said, driving the stake through my body again.
"I can't…" Elena leaves the cell. Lexi looks at her.
"Allie was always the stronger sister and the better friend." I muttered as Lexi looked at me.
Allie's POV (What Goes Around Comes Around - Justin Timberlake)
I was sitting on the bed, Elijah sat next to me. "Thank you for being there for Rebekah." He told me.
I smiled, "She is a sweet girl." I told him. "A true friend and sister." I added.
He chuckled, "While on the other-side, I saw how Rebekah and Nik looked out for you. Kol saw it too." He told me.
Jeremy walked in with Anna, "Anna this is Allie my sister. She's a lot nicer than Elena." He told her.
"She's a lot prettier too." She told me.
I couldn't help but laugh. "Thank you, it's nice to meet you." I said to her.
Klaus walked in with Kai, "So you want your dead vampire girlfriend back?" He asked Jeremy.
Jeremy nodded, "Well since the veil is down it's a lot easier." He told him, he muttered a few words. "Done, she is back no longer on the other side." He told him.
Anna smiled and hugged Jeremy, I was glad my brother was happy.
Elena's POV
I came back but stopped and watched what's happening.
"You know you say that every time. Until I make you feel again." Lexi told Stefan. She drives a stake through his stomach.
"You wasted your whole life taking care of me. Now you're dead and you still have nothing better to do." Stefan told her.
I walked over. "We're running out of time." I told her.
"You've got to get me more." She told me.
"I can't." I said to her.
"No! No...not until I break through." She begged me.
"I can't, Lexi. They have the necklace. They're going to close the door." I told her, Lexi looks at Stefan.
Lexi says, "The necklace. Okay. That necklace. At least tell me you remember how you felt about that. You found it during your darkest time. And you said, when you made it through, that that necklace represented hope." She looked at him.
Stefan laughed, "Ironic, then, that it's about to be blown to pieces. Allie was the only one who accepted me for me, she didn't try and change me." He told me.
I was jealous right now, why Allie what makes her so special I thought to myself.
Allie's POV (The Phoenix - Fall Out Boy)
Nik walked back into the with a dress, "What is that for?" I asked him.
"Rebekah informed me Homecoming is coming up so I got you a dress." Nik told me.
I nodded, "Thank you. It's beautiful Nik." I told him.
I looked over to Elijah, he looked down, "What's wrong?" I asked him.
"It would seem Bonnie is putting the barrier back up." He told me.
I nodded, "Goodbye for now Elijah." I told him.
He nodded, "Goodbye Allie." He told me, and faded away.
Nik sat next to me, "How are you feeling after everything?" He asked me.
I sighed, "I feel ok, hungry." I said to him.
"Come on, let's go on a date. Jeremy and Anna are out also." He said to me.
I stood up and put on my jacket again and followed him out of the hotel for food. It was nice being with Nik, but it was breaking my heart knowing that I was part witch from the beginning. I was sick of people keeping things from me.
Stefan's pov
I look up at Elena. "So what are you going to do, Elena? You just going to stand there? Waiting for me to dry out?" I asked her.
She shakes her head, "No, I'm going to go home, be a friend to Bonnie and everything else that I have to do." She said to me. She starts walking to the door.
"That's good for you. You know, I was wondering when you were going to give up. Lexi gave you...enough of a glimpse into your tragic future. Also Allie wasn't compelled, soulmates are a rare thing leave it alone Elena." I told her.
She looked at me, "I haven't given up, Stefan. I still have hope." She walks over to me. "But there's nothing that I can do until you get yours back." She says as she touches my face.
"Hey. You can break through this. Fight for it. Feel something. Anything, Stefan. Because if you don't, you're going to lose me forever. I won't love a ghost for the rest of my life." She told me. She locks the door and leaves.
The only thing I felt for was Allie not Elena. I wanted my best friend back in town.
A/N - I'm gonna build on the Stefan/Allie relationship more more like brother and sister bond like Stefan and Lexi. I've Kai will stay apart of this story.
