Chris drops Christine off at her house and gives a small wave and nice big smile before driving off. Christine is now thinking of what to tell her parents. She would have to tell them that she didn't feel well and couldn't drive home back herself, she didn't want them to worry. Christine took her makeup off and got in the shower and immediately got into bed. Christine sleeping right after school would definitely set off some parental concern but she didn't care anymore. Booth and Brennan had found Dylan's murderer, it was Steven, the book keeper. Dylan did not want to be a part of their drug dealing and Steven didn't want Dylan to talk. They had an argument and it went too far. Booth and Brennan were excited to get home and tell Christine the news. They arrived home and saw that Christine was in bed sound asleep. "Oh, she's sleeping," Brennan whispers to Booth. "She still might not be feeling well, I'm glad she's sleeping though." Booth turns to his wife, "Let her sleep, she hasnt had the best of days." Brennan looks out to the driveway and notices Christine's car was not in the driveway. "How did she get home? Why didn't she drive home?" Brennan begins to get worried. She walks over to Christine and feels her forehead, "She's warm Booth," she says as she turns Christine's face towards her to get a better look at her daughter.

Brennan notices Christine's dark under eye circles, her cheeks are a tad thinner, and her lips are dry. "Something isn't right Booth." She continues. She gently shakes Christine and talks to her, "Baby, I need you to wake up, are you okay?" Brennan whispers to her daughter. Christine shrugs and slowly opens her eyes, "I'm okay mom, Christopher Lanes drove me home, my car is still at school, I wasn't feeling well to drive." she says as she closes her eyes again. Booth brings his wife some water and a cool rag. Brennan takes the rag and applies it to her forehead, and slowly brings up Christine's face to drink some water. "How were you feeling? That you couldn't drive home?" she asks, Christine begins to speak with her eyes closed, "I bent down to get a granola bar from my bag and my vision began to blur, I started to see black spots, I didn't want to drive home." Brennan looks at Booth, and Christine continues, "My midterm exams were given to us today, I believe I did really well. I'm happy I won't have to stay up and study anymore. I promise I'll be okay, may I go back to sleep?" she politely asks. Brennan smiles at her daughter, "yes, yes you may. I love you." Brennan gives Christine a couple of kisses to her forehead and Christine's smiles. Booth and Brennan step out of her room and close the door. "It worries me she couldn't drive home, but I'm glad she asked for a ride home." Brennan says. "Maybe, she's just studying too hard? She sits at her desk for hours and I don't think she ever takes a break?" Booth says. "I'm happy she's dedicated, she's quite impressive." Brennan says with a smile. Booth takes in Brennan in her arms and gives her a long kiss, "I love you, Bones." he says. Brennan smiles and returns the kiss, "I love you too, Booth."

Christine wakes up around dinner time and she could smell her fathers famous spaghetti. She stumbled into the kitchen, still weak from her lack of water and food from the past week. "Hello Christine, are you feeling better?" Brennan asks her daughter as she walks up to her to feel her forehead once again. Christine leans into her mothers touch. "You're still a tad warm." Christine suddenly feels herself losing her balance and her vision begins to blur and falls into her mother's arms. "Christine?!, I got you, honey." She says. Booth also runs over to his daughter and helps his wife bring Christine to the couch. Christine lays flat and still a tad unconscious. Brennan manages to wake her up, Christine eyes flutter open. "Christine, honey, are you okay? You have to tell me what hurts?" she asks her daughter. "Nothing physically hurts me. I'm just exhausted." she mutters. Brennan gives her daughter a questioning look, "You're showing signs of sleep deprivation and malnutrition. You haven't been sleeping haven't you? After I specifically told you to go to bed?" she asks. Christine makes eye contact with her mother and she sighs. "No. I haven't been sleeping. I've been up for a few days actually." she says as she looks away. "Christine, you can't do that to your body. Not at 16." Booth reprimands. "I'll be sleeping from now on. I promise." she says with a slight attitude. "I don't think I can even trust your promises Christine, not lately." Brennan says and with that comment Chrisitne began to tear up. She knew that she had been putting her body in danger but she continued to do so. She wanted to be the best and she had to make sacrifices in order to attain that goal. She felt guilty lying to her parents, that was the number one rule in their house, no lies. Lately, that's all she's been doing and she knew if her parents took her to the doctor they would find traces of the adderall in her blood. "I'm sorry, I know I've been pushing the limits lately. I know I've been keeping things from you both," she continues as she sniffles, "and I've been lying. But, I had to." she finishes and sits herself up to drink the water her father was offering her. "Yes, I haven't been eating right, or at all, and I haven't been sleeping. I've been awake for a few days.…" she stops and tries to prepare herself for her parents' reaction concerning the prescription drug.

"I know i'm going to be in trouble and I know you both are going to be mad and incredibly disappointed in me.." she stops and looks at her parents and looks away. Brennan sits down to look at Christine and Booth remains standing and crosses his arms. "Christine, what did you do?" he asks. Christine's tears continue to flow and she sighs, "I've been taking adderall, to help me prepare for my midterms. I wanted to be ahead of the game, and I wanted to ace them." she says and she waits for her parents reaction. Brennan's eyes went wide and Chrisitne could tell her mother was furious. Christine knew how her mother felt about prescription drugs. "What?! Where did you even get a hold of those?" Booth asks, Christine gives her father a look and Christine says, "The pharmacist, Jacob. It's his brother's prescription. I know it's wrong and illegal. I knew what the symptoms were." she looks down at the floor. "Christine Angela, I am incredibly disappointed and furious. You put your body at risk, for what? To get good grades?" Brennan asks borderline yelling. "Yes! For exactly that reason!" Christine responds back. "Do you have any idea what it's like for the world to know who your mother is? Especially if she's a world renowned scientist! 3 weeks ago, I brought home my first AP Chem exam and I got a 83% and you told me that I had to do better because there's no reason why I should have gotten an A. I'm in 4 upperclassmen courses and if I wanted to. I could graduate next year! I have a lot on my plate!" Christine runs out of breath and begins to hyperventilate. Brennan immediately holds Christine's body up and allows her to express her emotions. "I'm sorry, I- just stressed. I'm sorry for putting myself in danger and I know it's going to take time to regain my trust." she says as she falls into her mothers arms once again. "Let's take her to bed," Booth says and carries his daughter into her room.

Booth says and carries his daughter into her room. Brennan looks up at Booth, "I'm concerned Booth, Am I really that hard on her? I just want her to succeed." she begins to tear up. "No, no you are not too hard on her. We both expect a lot from her, It's true. She just needs to sleep, eat, and drink water. Take it easy and she'll be fine." Booth says as hold his wife. Christine wakes up again and sees her mother sitting at her desk with the adderall from her false compartment. "Mom?" Christine says and her mother turns around to face her. "I'm really sorry, I'm so sorry." she looks down. Brennan didn't want Christine to overwork herself again and she decides to hug Christine, "Shhh, it's okay. I know you're sorry and I know you're regretful of your actions." Christine held on to her mother tightly, "I'm still sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. I love you." she says slowly. Brennan smoothes her hair and kisses her head. "And I love you, but I need you to understand that adderall, no matter the dosage, can be very harmful, especially to someone who has just turned 16. You were taking a 40mg pill, that's too much for your body to handle. You should have known that." Brennan says as she takes her daughter's face into her hands.

Brennan wanted her daughter to see her face, a face filled with fear. Christine lips whimper, "I did know that, I was being reckless. I admit it. But, I wanted to make you proud. I wanted others to know that I am truly your daughter, brains and all." she says. Brennan smacks her lips together and gives Christine a kiss on her forehead and then places her forehead against Christine's. "You are my daughter, brains, beauty, and all. No matter what your transcripts say. But, you were reckless and I need you to understand that, do you know the danger you put yourself in?" Brennan says as a few tears go down her face, "If anything were to have happened to you, I would never forgive myself." she continues. Christine wipes her mothers tears away and responds, "Yes, I know mom. I spaced out the dosages to prevent any permanent damages. But, I know that's not the point but I'm sorry mom, I'm sorry." Christine says. Brennan sits up and lets go of Christine's face and Christine continues, "Would you like me to flush them down the toilet?" she asks as she points to the pills on her desk. "Yes, I would. Would you like to do it together?" Brennan asks, Christine nods and she begins to stand and holds her hand out for her mother to take. Brennan takes her hand and Christine takes her towards the desk and grabs the pills and heads towards the bathroom. Before dumping the pills into the toilet Christine looks at her mother, "Never again. I promise." she says as she squeezes her mothers hand. Brennan then responds, " n." and Christine tosses the pills in the toilet and flushes them away. Then Christine hugs her mother which surprised Brennan. "I'm sorry I took it too far. Also, are there any leftovers? I'm hungry." Brennan chuckles, "Yes, there are. Let's go fix you a plate." and leads the way to the kitchen. Christine sees her father in the kitchen and immediately hugs her father, "I'm sorry daddy, for all of it, everything. I'm sorry." she says. Booth hugs her tightly and kisses her head. "I know you're sorry. It'll be okay, we will all be okay. C'mon let's heat up your plate." The family sits down and both Brennan and Booth continue to watch their fragile child eat her first meal in a few days.
