Over the past few years, I have had recurring nightmares. They are often about my battle against the White Witch. There is also the nightmare about the pain my people suffered when I left.
I have also been having some, let's say, visions. They have been about a young boy, a little older than me. They seem to be about his losing something he is supposed to have.
They are always so vague, but I am sure I know this boy.
I walked out to the entrance of the forest. I climbed the trees. To see that child again. He has come around here for a few years now, this time, he had someone with him.
I sat on the branch of the tree and listened to their conversation.
"Tell me about the kings and queens Professor." the young boy, around ten years old, asked an elder man.
I gained a lot of curiosity, I was interested in their interpretation of me, my friends, and my people.
The elder man chuckled "Well, there were four siblings, two brothers, and two sisters. They were said to come from a world torn by war."
I was truly intrigued by what this man was saying now. "There was the High King, Peter, the eldest of the siblings. He was said to love one woman, who rejected him on their coronation when he kissed her, without her consent.
"Then there was Queen Susan, the second eldest. She was recognised as a gentle soul, who would true to find a peaceful way around a battle. But, she was not afraid to draw her bow when was needed.
"There was also Edmund, the King. He was known to be a just ruler. He saw the horrors of the White Witch and made sure no one would ever have to live like that again, he suffered, alongside most of Narnia.
"There was also Queen Lucy. She was valiant, she was an innocent soul, who wanted everyone to be happy. She would heal their people after battles, and was not afraid to bring out her dagger."
I was happy this man knew my friends so well, it was a little creepy though.
"But two people stood above them all. The first, the most powerful creature in the known world, the great lion Aslan. The person below him, was the High Queen, a young woman named Ariel.
"She was known as a goddess to many people, and she was born into royalty. She was forced to leave Narnia when the White Witch attacked her home. She went to the king's and queen's world, and one hundred years later, she came back. Not long later, they came as well.
"She was strong-willed, and with the pain her people bor after she left, she killed the witch, but not without being struck herself. It is said that she had a gift from the great lion, that meant she could not age, and could not easily die, while she had it on."
I was crying a little. He knew so much about us, it was strange.
"You know so much about them."
"Of course my prince, I was asked to research history."
I was so shocked, the boy I consoled, was the prince, and the descendant of the man who took my people, and I, away from our homes.
"What happened next?"
"The siblings left suddenly, and the queen and the Narnian's are believed to be dead. They all went into that forest. There was a wall, stopping us from entering, but it came down."
I could not believe what I was hearing. They believed we were dead. The only reason why they think we are dead is that we are afraid to even leave our 'homes'.
I swung to the next tree and ran to my temporary home.
I was getting ready to go out on my nightly patrol and was getting my cloak on. I put a sword to my side and went to leave with Trumpkin and Nickabrik.
I came out of the house, to see a boy on the ground. I looked at the distance, to hear Talmorine troops.
"Trumpkin, deal with them." he nodded and went to the troops.
I ran to the boy, he was an adult, roughly. "We have to kill him, he's seen us. Talmarine soldier." Nickabrick spoke in a harsh voice, as usual.
I rolled my eyes at him and spoke "We don't know who he is. He might be who we need to help save us."
Nickabrick scuffed at me and walked towards the boy.
I am not sure what it is, but I feel as though I know this boy. I feel a love for him. I'm not sure what I'm feeling, but I know I need to keep him safe
"He is a Talmarine soldier, he is evil. He took Narnia away from us."
I looked down and found my locket was in the boy's hand. I looked at him in horror. Is he that young boy I met all those years ago?
"You stole our queen's locket!" Nickabrick charged forward, sword in his hand.
I got in front of the boy, and I saw light behind me.
I looked at the boy, and the locket was glowing. I grabbed the locket, and Nickabrick knocked the boy out, with the hilt of his sword.
"Really Nickabrick, really?" I looked and saw that Trumpkin was nowhere to be seen.
I got a hold of the boy and put him on my bed in the nearby house.
As soon as I set him down, Tufflehunter came in and looked in horror.
"Don't question why I am doing this, just trust me."
I walked to the bathroom, to find a bandage to put around his head.
I walked back, to see Nickabrick, glaring at me. "You should have killed him when you had the chance!"
I walked to the boy and started to wrap the bandage around his head. "You should not question my judgement. I know this boy, and I think I know his role in the prophecy."
I looked down at him and smiled. I gave him a quick kiss on his cheek. I looked at Nickabrick and Tufflehunter.
"You mean to say, he is the one."
I smiled a little, looking at the boy. "I believe he is."
"How can you be sure?" Trufflehunter asked me, he was right to do so.
I looked at the boy, and smiled "I'm not sure. I'm certain."
I walked back up to him and took his armour off. I looked at him and saw that he was incredibly handsome. I knew it was him. I was so tired, that I started sleeping on his chest.
I woke up, and went to the kitchen.
I looked at Nickabrick. He was not happy. He wasn't too happy when I took resistance with them, because he believed I was a Talmorine solider.
I got my cloak, and walked to the door.
"You have been working so hard, you need rest," Trufflehunter said. I knew where he was coming from, but I didn't have much if a choice.
"Sorry, you know why I am doing this."
I was about to leave, when Tufflehunter said "At least eat something."
I looked down, and walked to the table.
I sat down, and felt something was off.
"We should have killed him when we had the chance."
"Would you stop saying that?"
"He is an innocent boy."
"He's a Talmarine, not some lost puppy."
"He has done no wrong."
Nickabrick seemed unconvinced, no surprise there.
"I should kill him."
"I am not killing an innocent boy."
"How do you think his friends are treating Trumpkin?!"
I looked down, feeling a little guilty. "I asked him to go, he knew what he was getting himself into. I will do all I can, to get him back. But my first priority, it the boy."
Then I heard, something I was not expecting. I turned, and saw that boy. I got up, and held my sword against Nickabrick.
"I told you we should have we should have killed him when we had the chance!"
"You know why we can't do that!" I shouted at him, I hated shouting, but I know I didn't have an option here.
"If we are taking a vote, I'm with you miss." I looked at the boy and smiled.
"We can't let him go, he's seen us!"
"The only reason we are in hiding, is because we needed to wait to take action! And do you want to lose the one chance we have, get our home back? I fought and I just want a home again!"
I glared at Nickabrick, and the funniest long came out of Tufflehunter, "Stop it Nickabrick, or do I have to sit on your head again?"
I have seen Trufflehunter sitting on Nickabrick's head, it is very amusing.
I looked down, and see the soup on the floor, and got down, and started to clean up. "I am so sorry."
Trufflehunter sighed, and smiled at me, "No harm done. You were protecting the boy."
I smiled, and poured some more soup for us.
I sat one down, where the boy was going to sit.
"What are you?" I heard the boy ask, I loved his accent, so exotic.
" You know, it's funny you ask that. you would assume someone would know a badger when they see one."
I smiled a little. I poured more soup for us, and put some in front of Trufflehunter.
"No, you are Narnian's, you are supposed to be extinct."
I frowned, of course "Sorry to disappoint you, but we went into hiding, we are not all dead."
I sat down at the table. "Since when did we open a boarding house for Talmarine soldiers?"
I glared at Nickabrick, and smacked him not the back of the head.
"I'm not a soldier, I'm a prince. Prince Caspian the Tenth." I looked up at him.
"Let me ask you one question, what were you doing, running away from the soldiers?" I looked him, rightin the eye.
He looked down, "I was running away."
I looked down, and quietly said "I know how that feels. We know how this feels. But why were you running away."
"My uncle has always wanted my throne. I suppose he never killed me, because he never had an heir of his own."
I looked down at my soup, and again, quietly spoke "That changes everything."
"Yeah, " I looked to Nickabrick, hoping he was going to be sympathetic, "means we don't have to kill you ourselves."
I got up, "Nickabrick. Be sympathetic. We know what this boy is going through. And you act all high and mighty, though I know where your loyalty lied when the kings and queens came."
"Wait, where are you going?!"
I looked up, to see Caspian walking out. "My uncle will not stop until I'm dead."
I looked at him in horror, he could not be serious. "You can't leave! You are meant to save us. Do you k ow what this is?" I held out my locket, and started at the boy.
The boy looked confused "The High Queen's locket?"
I nodded my head, "True, but it is linked to the others, and when light illuminates from it, they will come to aid."
