Brightclaw237: Hey everyone, I don't have too much to say other than the fact that I started watching an old anime called detective Conan/Case Closed which is an absolute amazing anime by the way. It's kept me busy to the point I couldn't focus on writing any fanfiction. There still will be quite a wait for more chapters because of a bit of writer's block and a few issues that have come up in actual life. Anyways I only own Brightclaw.
I stare at Hunter in understanding. 'Just like Rocky and I.' I walk back over and sit on the grass again. I hug my knees to my chest to hide the frown on my face. I don't know why, but I feel like I can trust him for some reason. He's been nice to me for the most part since meeting me, like he doesn't have a mean bone in his body. "My parents sent me here to be safe away from dangerous people."
Hunter sits up and frowns at my words. "Dangerous people?" He asks.
I nod my head. "I was nearly abducted once many years ago due to how wealthy my parents are. It was when fossil fighting was starting to become popular."
"What happened?" Hunter asks.
"I was almost grabbed at my bus stop as soon as I had stepped of the school bus. Some random man in purple clothes tried grabbing me by my backpack, but was subdued before he could do anything." I say, my eyes tearing up at the memory.
"Are you okay?" Hunter asks, seeing the tears in my eyes.
I wipe away the tears and nod. "Yes, but my parents saw that it was not safe for me to live back home with them. My grandfather arrived the following week to bring me to Vivosaur Island." I look up at the star filled sky. "The sky looks the same as it did the day I had to say farewell to my parents. It's been nearly five years since I had to leave them."
Hunter looks at me in shock. "Five years, haven't they been able to visit you?!"
I smile at him, he's a very strange boy. "Yes, they come and visit me every so often. It's just that I never get to enjoy family meals together as much." I let out a sigh. "I've gotten used to living with my grandfather and Rocky though."
"That won't do at all!" Hunter exclaims, standing up.
I flinch at his outburst. "Huh?!"
"I hate to see people sad, especially my friends!" I tell Rosie.
"What are you talking about, Hunter?" Rosie asks me.
"I'm going to make sure you're never sad again!" I say with a smile on my face.
Rosie tries her hardest to not burst out laughing, but fails. "You're a strange boy, Hunter. A big goofball!"
"I'd like to think that I'm more of an adventure seeker." I smirk, giving her a thumbs up. Rosie laughs even more at this.
"Well I better be getting back to my grandfather's house. He's probably worried sick about me." Rosie says as she gets up off the grass.
"I'll help you home, Rosie." I say.
"Do you even know how to get out of this small forest?" Rosie retorts.
I open my mouth to protest, but realize that Rosie is right. "Uh no, I did get lost out here in the first place." I say as I sheepishly scratch the back of my head.
Rosie lets out a sigh and grabs me by the hand."Follow me, you can act as my guide while I lead you out." I feel my face heat up as Rosie drags me by the hand through the forest. Thankfully it's too dark for her to see my face which is probably redder than a tomato. After a minute the blush dies down, just in time for us to exit the forest. "It's this way, Hunter." Rosie says. We soon come to a large building that towers over the others.
"This is my stop, Hunter." She says as we walk up some stairs. A guard soon comes out and bows towards Rosie.
"Your grandfather has been very worried about you, Lady Richmond." The guard says.
Rosie turns to face the guard. "I understand, can you please go tell him that I was with a friend?" She asks.
The guard looks surprised but nods. "Yes miss, I will do that right now." He says, walking back into the building.
Rosie turns back to me, does a quick curtsey and smiles at me. "Thank you for the battle today, Hunter. You just might be worthy enough to be my rival."
I smile back at Rosie. "Yeah, maybe we can train against each other?" I suggest.
Rosie's smile turns into a smirk. "You got lucky today Hunter Kaze. Next time won't be so easy."
I smirk back. "You can say that again."
"New fighters are allowed to stay at the Relic Hotel for free. It's next door to the Fossil Center, you can't miss it." Rosie says. "Just head down the right street, that'll lead you back to the main square." Rosie says before walking inside the building.
Brightclaw237: See ya all in the next chapter.
