Chapter 7: Flowers

Riven smiled again. "Will you be mine?"

Bloom laughed a bit. "River… I was always yours."

Meanwhile, with Flora and Helia…

"Hey Helia, do you think this rosa gloria would be a good addition to my room?"

"I think so. It looks almost as beautiful as you."

"H-helia!"

Flora lightly swatted at his arm, causing him to laugh and jump back. She hmphed and turned back to the assortment of flowers she had in her hand. Meanwhile, Helia laid eyes on the most beautiful rose he had ever seen. It was a marbled black, red, and white rose with streaks of gold running through the petals.

He had to get it for her. "Hey… Flora?" She hummed back at him, focusing her attention on the array of plants in front of her. "I have to use the restroom. I'll be back in a few minutes."

Flora nodded in response, not really registering what he had said. Helia quietly snuck off to where he saw the beautiful rose, picking it up and putting it on the checkout counter.

The elderly lady behind the counter smiled at the navy-haired boy. "Hello dearie," she began as she entered the serial code for the purchase. "Is that for the lovely lady who accompanied you here?"

He nodded bashfully. "Yes ma'am. I wanted to ask her to the ball at Alfea tonight."

The old lady smiled kindly at him. "She is certainly a lucky girl. Your total is $1.02."

Helia smiled back. "I'm the lucky one, to know a gem like her." He said softly, handing her the money. "Thank you ma'am, but I really should get going before she panics."

The lady nodded. "Get you girl!" she called out as he walked away.

Helia walked up to Flora, hiding the flower behind his back and tapping on her shoulder. She turned around, only to be met with Helia looking at her with affection.

"Flora… may I ask you a question?" Helia looked at her, asking with his eyes as well.

Flora giggled. "Of course Helia."

Helia pulled the flower out from behind him. "Well then… will you be my date to the ball tonight?"

Flora's hands flew to her mouth in surprise. "Oh Helia… of course I will!"

Helia smiled, taking her hand in his and bowing slightly, kissing the back of her hand. "Well then, I'm honoured my lady."
