Twelve Reasons Why Leafpool's Company Failed
Tale Seven: The Building is destroyed by an angry Mob
Disclaimer: I do not own the Warriors.
One day, Leafpool was inside the building that her Medicine Cat Training building was in, thinking about how her life went so wrong.
She did not regret falling in love with Crowfeather or having his kits. But she regretted breaking the Medicine Cat Code.
She was hoping to keep the truth a secret until she died, but Hollyleaf had to tell the other three clans about her dirty secret.
Now, no one wanted anything to do with her. Not her fellow Medicine Cats, not her father and mother, not her clanmates or even her kits.
Only Squirrelflight would still talk to her, despite her secret being the real reason Brambleclaw was distant with Squirrelflight.
She looked at her paws and sighed. She hated how her lies destroyed her family and her life in Thunderclan.
It seemed to her that her company was the only thing she still had left. Leafpool's ears perked up at the sounds of paw steps and turned to see Breezepelt, Nightcloud, Brambleclaw, Tawnypelt, Lionblaze, Tigerheart, Flametail and Dawnpelt. They were followed by the other clans' Medicine cats and warriors.
"What is the meaning of this?" asked Leafpool, looking at the gathered cats.
"Leafpool, you are a disgraced to the Medicine cats. We are here to dismantle your business to pay for the mates' splitting fee between your sister and her mate," sneered Willowshine.
"This is not Squirrelflight's fault! This is not her business! I forced Squirrelflight to lie to you, Brambleclaw," protested Leafpool.
This was the wrong thing to say as this made the gathered mob angry. Leafpool took cover the second Breezepelt grabbed a table.
The disgraced medicine cat could only watched as the mob smashed the building, causing thousands of Mice worth of damage.
Lionblaze came into the lobby with a lit touch. Leafpool quickly left the building and could watch in horror as her business went up in flames.
The angry mob left the scene and the light brown tabby she-cat sobbed as her life's work was burned to ash.
(A/N: Sorry for the extremely long wait for this chapter! I had half of this chapter already written up the last time this story was updated, which was over three years ago. This unexpected hiatus was due to a mixture of work and other real-life stuff, lack of inspiration and a lack of motivation.
I hope that next year I can focus on updating my already posted stories on a semi-regular basis.
So, the Random Tales of the Warriors, The Random Tales of Hogwarts and this one will be updated more often in the new year, hopefully.
Daggerstar's Tale will be posted on Archive of our own instead under Really_Random_Person, but I don't know if it should stay here too.
I plan to cross post The Random Tales of Hogwarts, Jayfeather has problems accessing the web, Lionblaze's trouble with the Internet and this story on Archive of our own too. This note has gotten long, so I hope you enjoy this rather short chapter.)
