School today is gonna be a breeze! I bet we aren't gonna do anything too extreme since we had a test already.
"Hey, Alyx!" Momo ran up next to me.
"Mina told me that we might have to do some sort of rescue test today." She said.
"A rescue test? I wonder what that means..." I said. I'm pretty sure we'll be in another huge building for that as well. "Speaking of tests, you did pretty good on that hero versus villain test. You're quirk really is something else!" I said.
She looked at me and looked down. Was she blushing?
"Y-You...You really think so?" She asked.
"Of course! That quirk of yours is really cool!" I replied.
Momo looked down at the ground, "Well, I mean, I'm not sure if I'm exactly useful. It takes me a while to create things, plus I have to understand how they're created and what exactly the compounds are made of." Momo said. Woah, she can create stuff?
"So, you can do this anytime you want?!" I said. I'm not sure why she's so down on herself, she's got an amazing ability!
"Well, I need to eat first before I can make anything. My quirk uses the lipids in my body from the food I eat in order to make anything. That's why I really don't think I'm too useful..." She said. Her quirk and mine were kind of similar! Except for the part where I had to eat things and the whole creating stuff with lipids.
"What do you mean? You crushed that training exercise! You aren't useless, you're actually a really... Well... I guess I don't really know the word... But you really are something!" I exclaimed with a smile on my face. We got to school and into the classroom.
The usual everyday chatter was going on, especially Bakugo's yelling. I tapped Izuku on the shoulder.
"Oh, hey!" Izuku said.
"So, why does Bakugo call you "Deku"? I wanted to ask you that a couple days ago but completely forgot." I said.
"Well, Kacchan started calling me that when we were younger. I guess he did it to make fun of me." He said.
"Oh, interesting. You didn't stand up for yourself?" I asked. I guess I really shouldn't have said something I already knew, he didn't really look like the kind of person to do something as bold as that.
Right before Izuku could speak, Mr. Aizawa entered the room and we immediately focused on him.
"Alright class, I know it's been a rough couple of months, but this isn't a test, only training, so it should be easy for most of you. It's rescue exercise for your Basic Hero Training classes." Mr. Aizawa said.
We left the classroom after Mr. Aizawa and went to grab our hero costumes. He said that we were heading off-campus for this exercise, but I honestly have a bad feeling about this.
We all boarded a bus to head to the facility. It was called the U.S.J., which was a lot easier to say than the actual name. Bakugo sat next to me on the bus, and it was pretty quiet for the whole ride until he freaked out at Tsuyu for saying he's too angry all the time. Which, I 100% agree with her. Kirishima looked over at me and gestured his eyes to the left of me. I looked over and Bakugo was staring right at me.
"Geez!" I wasn't expecting that at all. Bakugo gestured his hand at me and told me to move over. Right after I did that, Bakugo fell asleep in the same spot he was in. Wonderful.
It felt like hours, but we arrived at the U.S.J. When we walked in, we were greeted by some astronaut lady.
"Hello aspiring heroes! I'm Space Hero: Thirteen! I'm here to guide you with your rescue training!" Space Hero? Do I have to put some sort of extension onto my hero name too? There are so many questions I need to ask!
"Your powers are not meant to inflict harm. I hope you leave here today with the understanding that you're meant to help people." Thirteen said. She showed us a short introduction of the facility and everything we needed to do.
Everything was going really smooth, but I felt something odd. I seized up and a took a quick breath in. I don't know why, but something felt wrong.
"Alyx, are you okay?" Iida ran over to me before I fell to the ground.
"Something's not right, not at all." I looked over to the middle of the facility and seen a dark portal open up and what seemed like hundreds of people exiting out of it.
3 people stood prominent from the rest of them, one with a bunch of hands on him, one that look like the portal itself, and a giant bird monster.
"Stay back! Thirteen, protect the kids! Iida, alert the teachers at U.A., hurry!" Aizawa yelled.
What was going on, were these actual villains?! I thought this place was protected; how did they find us? Thirteen stood guard as that portal guy disappeared, he somehow teleported right behind us! Kirishima and Bakugo rushed him but missed him completely, but how?! They were right in front of him!
What do I even do? Mr. Aizawa is taking down those other guys as if he was cutting through butter, and we're sitting here doing nothing!
"Stand back everyone! I don't want you to get caught in this black hole!" Thirteen yelled.
She used a black hole gun to suck that portal guy in, but somehow, he teleported the black hole behind Thirteen! Then, all of the sudden I got hit with a wave of darkness, was I going to die? No, I'm still breathing. I got up from the ground and noticed Kaminari, Jiro, and Momo were here as well. Wherever "here" was. It looked like the mountain terrain. We were surrounded by villains, this was the real deal, not some sort of test.
"What do we do?" Momo said. I looked around, they were getting closer to us, they must not know what our quirks are.
I activated my quirk and looked towards Jiro, "Jiro, do you think you could create a shockwave using your quirk?" I asked.
Jiro looked over to me a nodded, "Sure can!"
She sent her earphone jacks down into the ground and created a huge shockwave that sent most of the villains flying! We charged into battle now that the numbers were a lot better to manage, I knocked out a few villains as Momo, Jiro, and Kaminari were taking care of the other ones. But, as we regrouped, they all stood back up!
"What now? They keep getting up!" Jiro said. We couldn't run from these guys, there were too many of them. What do we do?
"Kaminari, can you incapacitate these guys with your electricity?" Momo said.
"I can try, but I might go brain dead for a bit!" Brain dead? It's not what we need right now, but it's worth the risk! Momo created a large blanket to protect us from Kaminari's electricity. "It's time for 2 million volts!" Kaminari let loose his quirk, it only took a few seconds before we heard nothing but silence.
We got out from under the blanket and looked at Kaminari. He was standing there with smoke coming off him. He turned around to face us and had a weird look on his face.
"Whey...Whey..." Kaminari said.
He kept pointing his thumbs up and Jiro chuckled. Suddenly, some guy came behind Kaminari and held him hostage!
"Don't you dare move! Or I'll kill this idiot friend of yours!" He held a gun to Kaminari as he was still in his brain-dead state.
"Kaminari!" We yelled.
What do we do? We can't move or he'll die. If Iida had been with us, he'd be able to knock that guy out before he could pull the trigger, Tsuyu could've used her tongue to take the gun out of his hands. What do we do, what do I do?
I stopped, everything felt hopeless. My brain was stuck, what should I do? Suddenly, I felt something. I... I remembered something.
"Dad, would you be there to protect me, even if you aren't around?" I looked at Kaminari, then Momo and Jiro.
I looked back at where everyone else would be. I was going to protect them, no matter what! I need to be faster, faster than before! I felt heat surround my body, it felt like time slowed down, just like how it went when I saved Momo. In a flash, I was over at the villain holding Kaminari hostage, I knocked the gun out of his hand, and kicked him straight in the jaw. It sent him into the ground unconscious. I stood up and looked at Kaminari.
"Woah, Alyx, what's going on with you?" Momo asked. I looked at her confused, what exactly did she mean?
"I... Is that your quirk?" Jiro said. I looked at myself, I was surrounded in a blue aura for a split second.
"Woah, how did I...?" I said. My quirk deactivated on its own and I went to help Kaminari. "Are you alright, Kami?" I asked.
"Whey!" He yelled.
"I'll take that as a yes!" I said.
"We need to head back to the entrance, I think Thirteen is still up there!" Momo said. We started to head back to the entrance when I saw Izuku flying by towards that bird monster.
"Change of plans, you guys go to Thirteen, I'm heading to Izuku and that ugly bird thing!" I said.
I ran towards Izuku, right before that creature hit him, I kicked right through its arm. I noticed I was in my Base Mode, so what did I do when I saved Kaminari?
"Oh, boy, looks like we've got another wannabe. That pisses me off, you know?" I looked over and heard the guy with hands say that to me.
"What the hell do you want? Who even are you?" I asked. The man just laughed at me, almost as if it was stupid to ask the question.
"Nomu, destroy them!" That must be what this creature is!
I looked over and noticed that it had two arms instead of one, didn't I just kick one off? The Nomu unleashed a fist, faster than what I could dodge. I pushed Izuku out of the way and the Nomu's fist hit me full force. All I remember is getting sent flying before I blacked out.
A Few Hours Later
I woke up in Recovery Girl's room. Izuku and my parents were there as well.
"Alyx! Oh, my goodness, are you alright!?" my mother hugged me and gave me a kiss on the head. I looked over and seen Izuku and... All Might? How come I didn't notice him before? He looks so different, but that heat he's giving off tells me that it's him.
"You got hit pretty hard, Young Alyx. You saved Young Midoriya's life. We thank you for that." I couldn't speak, it felt like my throat was swollen, so I nodded.
I grabbed my throat to signal that something was wrong. My mother put her hand on it and healed it. I coughed up some blood, so maybe that's why I couldn't speak?
"De...Ku...I-I remembered something...Today..." I struggled to say, "When we were separated...I remembered something t-that I think that...I said a while ago." Izuku, All Might, and my parents were looking at me.
"What was it? Was it about your quirk?" All Might asked.
"No... I remember something I asked you, dad. It was about if you'd protect me, even if you were gone. I guess that's what sparked me saving Deku and Kaminari." I felt a warm sensation in the room, almost as if everyone was comforted by this.
"Alyx...That's great! At least you remembered something, even if it's minor, it's good!" My father said. I guess my father wasn't exactly good at reassurance since he got looks from my mother after he said that.
