This chapter includes an OC created by one of my readers, Wintas! I'll leave a character sheet for their OC at the bottom too, in case anything was confusing.
Burondo
"We're the bullying busters!"
Aiko jumped off the playground, arms in the air, landing in the sand in a heroic pose.
"We eat straight rocks!"
Kota came down the slide and halted at Aiko's side, also in a heroic pose.
"If we catch you bullying, we'll knock off your socks!"
Eri ran out from under the metal toy bridge and did a little spin, stopping at Aiko's other side, hands in the air.
Kota crossed his arms. "I'm the Power Hero: Water Hose!"
Eri clasped her hands together. "I'm the Peace Hero: Eri!"
"And I'm..." Aiko did a big twirl, ending in a lunge, arms spread out. "The Protection Hero: Affiniko!"
They put their hands together, shouting, "In the name of Peace, Power, and Protection!"
They jumped in the air and cheered.
Izuku, Uraraka, and Iida, who had been viewing the whole show from a park bench, clapped loudly.
"Marvelous performance, children!" Iida waved his arm robotically.
"Very cute!" Uraraka smiled, amused by the production.
"I really liked it! Nice job you guys!" Izuku laughed.
"Thank you, thank you!" Aiko smiled, bowing to their audience elegantly, a trick she had picked up from Mr. Compress.
Izuku stood up a brushed himself off, as the day had been a windy one and the sand was starting to get picked up in the strong gusts. "It looks like the weather's getting worse, we should head home. Oh, before I forget, Kota. Mandalay asked us to take you home along with Eri."
"K," Kota re-maintained his chill composure.
"And I'll walk home!" Aiko said before Izuku could offer to take her home as well.
She and her friends gathered their stuff and waved goodbye. Aiko watched all four of them walk away, smiling.
Wait..four of them?
"Hey Aiko?" Izuku suddenly appeared beside her, which made the feathered girl jump. "Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I was just gonna warn you that there'd been some news about a known villain being spotted near here, so just be careful."
"Oh, um, thanks!" Aiko grinned up at him. "I'll think I'll be ok, though."
Izuku nodded and followed after Eri and the rest of his friends.
The truth was, Aiko had already known about the villain spotting. She had overheard Mr. Compress and Spinner discussing it at breakfast, as well as seeing a picture of the villain in the newspaper.
She swung her bag over her shoulder and began to make her way back to the old hideout, where The Doctor routinely teleports her from school and back. Aiko skipped down the stone walkways, taking a long route to avoid being followed, exactly as Himiko told her.
It was a pretty quiet day, even the strong billowing of the wind wasn't incredibly loud. It was so quiet, in fact, that she was surprised when she walked right into a tall, blond man, who was wearing an almost black-ops style uniform. A large, threatening axe hung from the man's back and his sharp, violet eyes darted in Aiko's direction.
He almost looked familiar.
"Wait, aren't you the villain in the newspaper?!" Aiko suddenly yelled, surprised.
The violent stare she received sent a shudder down her spine.
"I-I mean..." She trailed off.
"Did she say villain?" A shocked voice from behind them said.
Two young heroes on patrol readied themselves to attack. The blond villain didn't have time to waste, he merely sent another spine-chilling glare towards Aiko before making a break for it.
"It's him! After him!" The two heroes ran past Aiko and after the villain without a second glance.
Aiko watched them run off, left quietly shocked after that whiplash of an interaction.
"I hope he isn't too mad at me..." She said to herself, feeling bad for revealing him in public.
She shrugged and the wind picked up, a sure sign that she should get home soon. Aiko continued her trek back to the house, unaware that a certain blond man watched her from the shadows. He followed close behind, leaving in the alleyway two heroes, the size of babies, crying and whining.
*
"Welcome back, Aiko! How was your day?" Mr. Compress was in the meeting room when she teleported in.
"It was good!" She smiled, then shrunk back slightly, not wanting to seem too eager. Ever since her 'quirk development disorder' or QDD, as the doctor had begun to call it, had been diagnosed, she was told to keep her distance from the villains that she hadn't copied a quirk from.
"I'm happy to here that, now Toga was-what's that?" Something stuck to Aiko's backpack caught his attention. He came over and plucked it off.
"'You'll Regret This...'" He read off of an orange sticky note. "Now who did you upset this time?"
"Is that really what it says?!" Aiko immediately thought of the villain from earlier. "I-I didn't think he'd be mad enough to want revenge!"
"Who?" Compress asked out of curiosity, but she had already snatched the note out of his hand and run out the door. "Oh."
*
"Himiko? Himiko?!" Aiko ran down the long halls in search of her big sister.
"I'm over here!" Himiko came running around the corner, the two of them slamming into each other with force.
"Ack! Sorry Oneechan!" Aiko said.
"No prob!" Himiko helped her little sister back up. "What did you need?"
"I got a threatening sticky note! I think it's from this villain that I accidentally got caught today!" Aiko handed Himiko the note worriedly.
"Huh? I guess you really did. Who was this villain? Maybe it was the White Hyacinth again." Himiko asked.
"N-no, it was the guy in the newspaper today! I forgot his name." Aiko said.
What? Burondo Fukigen-So? Oh, he's not that scary." Himiko waved her off. "He's known for...um...beating...well..." Himiko paused, assessing whether or not she should tell Aiko his defining trait. "Well, he's known for beating children, um, violently."
A tiny gasp escaped from Aiko.
"But I'm sure he wouldn't do anything to you! After all, he's probably busy! Why would he suddenly exact revenge on some random girl!" Himiko giggled, suddenly switching the subject. "So how was school?"
"It was fine..." Aiko's head swarmed with nervous thoughts, making it hard to answer casually. "Me an' Eri an' Kota played heroes today at the playground."
Himiko smiled, her grin hiding the smallest twinge of irritation at the things she was being influenced by at school. Aiko hadn't expressed much interest in being a hero, as most kids her age would, so the other villains usually just let it slide when she talked about the ones she met or the ones she saw. Though this didn't make hearing about their enemies any less irritating.
"That's cool! Hey! I overheard that Skeptic guy saying something about pastries in the kitchens, we should go steal some!" Himiko linked arms with Aiko and led her down the hall, the two now in search of pastries.
The next day, Aiko was teleported back to the hideout and she began her walk through the trees. The idea that the villain, Burondo, wanted revenge still weighed down on her like ton of bricks, so much so, that she would occasionally turn around to check if anyone was following her.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid, She thought. But I just can't shake the feeling that someone is watching me...
She continued to make her way to school, stopping to look behind herself every once and a while.
The day ended up being pretty normal. She sat through her morning classes, ate lunch with Eri and Kota, and was now leaning on her hand, staring out the window before class began.
"Didn't you guys here?" She overheard one of her classmates whispering to another. "There's some villain on the loose around here. They said he turned two heroes into kids our age!"
Aiko's ears pricked.
"Oh? Is he the guy who was in the newspaper yesterday?"
"I think so. His name was Burondo, I think."
So he can turn people into kids, huh?
She glanced out the window, only for her eyes to meet with a pair of sharp violet ones down in the school yard. Aiko had to blink a couple time to make sure, but by the time she opened them again, they were gone.
Was that Burondo? Eep! Is he following me?
Class came and went, though Aiko didn't pay attention for much of it, spending most of it staring out the window, her eyes darting across the blacktop in search of the villain.
She, Kata, and Eri all walked to the playground together. Kota and Eri were deep in conversation about who was the better hero, All Might or Endeavor. The odds were in All Might's favor.
Aiko tuned them our, her heart racing. She watched the houses carefully in search of those violet eyes.
"Aiko?"
"Huh?" She snapped back into reality at the sound of her name.
"Eri asked who you thought would win in a fight." Kota raised an eyebrow.
"Oh! Sorry. Um...Hawks?" Aiko laughed nervously.
"We were talking about All Might and Endeavor. Are you ok, Aiko? You've been quieter than usual." Eri gave her friend a look of concern
"Yeah, you've been pretty out of it." Kota agreed.
"Oh, it's nothing. I'm just tired." Aiko gave her friends a reassuring smile. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a shadow dart across someone's lawn. She let out a gasp, her head whipping in the direction of the movement.
Eri and Kota glanced at each other.
"Are you sure? You seem kinda..." Kota tried to think of the right word.
"Worried? Or-or scared? Is something scaring you?" Eri hit the mark perfectly.
"No! Really! I'm just tired. I didn't get a lot of sleep last night." She waved her hands in front of her, then she began to run towards the end of the street. "Now let's get to the park!"
Her friends weren't completely convinced, but they shrugged and chased after her.
The three friends played heroes again. They defeated an imaginary sludge monster and battled a devious supervillain. Aiko got so wrapped up in their fantasies that she almost forgot about the villainous vendetta.
"Take that!" Kota pretended to fire a powerful blast of water at the villain.
"And that!" Eri fired imaginary bullets at the fiend. She wasn't too comfortable using her real quirk, let alone her imaginary one, so she borrowed Snipe's.
"My finishing move!" Aiko prepared to blast him with a massive blue fire, when she locked eyes with someone across the field. It was too far to tell and it was beginning to get dark out, but she fell backwards anyways, immediately recognizing the person's loopy blond hair. "Eep!"
"Aiko? Are you ok?" Eri immediately hardened into defense mode.
"Ouch," Aiko sat up and rubbed her back. "I'm ok. I just tripped."
Kota came over and looked at her suspiciously. "Really? Cuz it looked like you saw someone."
Aiko sucked in a small breath. "I-"
"I-Is someone trying to hurt you, Aiko?" Eri clutched her hands to her chest.
"Well, not necessarily..." Aiko avoided her friends' eyes. "It was only a threat-"
"A threat?! You've gotta tell someone, Aiko!" Kota scolded her. "This is dangerous business."
"You can tell Deku! When he comes to pick us up!" Eri suggested.
"No! I-I already told my Oneechan! It's no big deal, really! She'll protect me!" Aiko tried to change the subject. "Speaking of Deku, shouldn't he be here by now?" She spotted the green-haired teen approaching them from across the park.
"Please don't tell him about this!" She begged. "I've got it under control!"
Eri glanced at Kota, worry written across her face.
Kota frowned. "Ok...but,"
"We just want you to be safe, Aiko." Eri said.
"I promise I'll be ok. Don't worry!" Aiko said just as Izuku showed up.
"Hey Everyone! You ready to head home, Eri? Kota?" Izuku read each of their faces. "What? Is something wrong?"
"No! Everything's fine." Aiko smiled at him. "I'll go grab my stuff!"
She ran back over to the bench where they left their bags and snatched up her backpack, swinging it over her shoulder.
"I'll se you guys tomorrow, ok?" She called to them as they came over to grab their bags. She gave one last look to Eri, hoping to confirm her decision not to tell Deku anything, then ran off down the street.
Getting home was tough this time around. She took a different route from yesterday, hoping that it would lower her chances of running into Burondo again. She kept casting glances over her shoulder every few seconds and creeping along the walls of buildings, hiding in the shadows. Aiko jumped at every sound and threw herself behind trash bins and whatever cover she could find whenever there was even the slightest hint of movement. Once the old hideout was in sight, she breathed a sigh of relief. The Doctor would teleport her home and she would soon be safe in Deika City.
"It took me a while to catch you alone..." An eery voice drawled from behind her.
She screamed, but a hand covered her mouth and turned her around to face them. Her terrified blue eyes met a pair of cold, violet ones.
"B-B-Burondo? Burondo Fukigen-So? You're the villain from the newspaper!" Aiko managed to sputter out.
"And now my face is all over the media thanks to you..." He growled. He lowered his hand so that is wrapped around her neck. "I hate snitches...especially children..."
Aiko tried to scream again, but her voice was lost in her terror. Burondo's grip tightened around her throat and Aiko felt like she was going to retch. Then she did. Well, she coughed up a familiar grey-looking goop.
The Doctor's Teleportation Goop!
The goop covered her body and before she knew it, Aiko reappeared in the glass meeting room. Nearly all the villains, minus Shigaraki, were waiting around in there. They looked up at her arrival and their expression ]s quickly morphed into looks of shock.
"G-Guys! I need help! There's this villain guy who wants to-" Aiko paused. Something wasn't right. She slowly turned her head to look behind her. There, crookedly hunched, was Burondo, violent eyes narrowed.
"This is new..." He grinned devilishly.
"Aiko! Get behind me!" Himiko tried to run for the small girl, and although she was fast, Burondo's quirk had already activated. A black shadow was cast across the floor, running along it in dark grey lines. Each shadow met with an individual villain. The villains, although ready to attack, were met with a surprising force, knocking them back a few inches.
Then, they started to change. Aiko watched in horror as Himiko, who was closest, began to shrink. Her complexion became younger and her body reversed considerably. By the time the shadow was yanked back, instead of five capable villains, there stood five 7-year olds.
"What the hell just happened?" 7-year old Dabi looked down at where is burns would normally be, shocked to find that they were gone. Not to mention his hair was white.
Young Himiko looked over at him and lost it. "Ahhahahahha! You dyed your hair black? Ahahahahaha! And all this time I thought you weren't that edgy!"
"Shut up! At least I didn't have a growth spurt until I was fifteen!" Dabi growled and Himiko gasped, insulted. "Yeah, I saw your transformation!"
"Eek!"
Their attention was returned to Aiko, who yelped as Burondo dove at her.
"We're coming Aiko! Do not fret!" A young Mr. Compress shouted. All their costumes had disappeared and were replaced by what they would've worn when they were seven. Most of them had on t-shirts and shorts, but Compress was a different case, he had a miniature tuxedo with a tiny rose attached to it. He caught sight of Twice holding back a snicker. "Now is not the time to discuss my childhood wardrobe!"
Dabi jumped into action, releasing a barrage of flames at Burondo, but the confident villain merely waved them off.
"That won't work...my quirk also reverses the progression of your quirks..."
Dabi felt the raw, familiar burn of his blue flames, something he had grown accustomed to over so many years that he was almost taken aback by the pain in his hands.
Burondo returned to reaching for Aiko, who laid helplessly on the ground.
"Don't you touch her!" Himiko darted towards him, grabbing at the pocket that she usually kept her switchblade in, only to realize that she had returned to her childhood t-shirt and shorts and her switchblade was nowhere to be found. "Dammit!"
Spinner, a nervous-looking newt, ran for the door. "I'll go get the others!"
The door swung open just as he reached it and he ran straight into it, passing out of the floor.
"What the-?" Shigaraki surveyed the room. "I was gone for five minutes!"
"He's tryna kill Aiko!" Himiko explained quickly, pointing at Burondo, who had grasped Aiko by the collar.
Shigaraki sighed, clearly tired and way too nonchalant about the whole ordeal. The white-haired villain didn't hesitate. He ran at Burondo, hand out, ready to destroy him. The blond villain raised an eyebrow, loosening his grip on Aiko just enough for her to wriggle out of the way.
Shigaraki swung his hand towards the cocky villain, who was faster than he looked. Burondo began to release his shadow again.
"Watch out for his shadow! He used it to turn them all into kids!" Aiko yelled to Shigaraki.
Shigaraki, hesitantly, noted this, barely avoiding Burondo's grey shadow. The shadow-villain snapped the shadow back to him and Shigaraki took a mental note as to how long he could keep it out.
Five seconds at least...
Burondo's gaze shifted over to Aiko again, his glare becoming darker after she assisted the Decay villain.
"Your moves are slower." Shigaraki smirked, spotting a weak point. "Using your quirk affects your stamina, doesn't it?" The red-eyed villain pinned Burondo to the floor. "I wonder which limb I should remove first?"
Burondo, his gaze still fixed on Aiko, didn't react, though his face said it all. It was probably the most spine-chilling glare she'd ever seen. She froze on the spot. Suddenly, his gaze relaxed.
They watched silently as he reached into his vest pocket and pulled out a pack of sticky notes and a marker. He let out a sarcastic sigh.
In a flash of movement, Shigaraki found a sticky note attacked to his head.
"Huh? How did you even-?" The white-haired villain didn't take his eyes off the other and read the note.
"'Terribly Sorry'? The hell's that supposed to mean?" He hissed.
Burondo Fukigen-so continued to stare up at the ceiling. In another unwatchable movement, Shigaraki read another note.
"'I'll release them now?'"
To their relief, the other villains returned to their normal forms once again.
"Are you still trying to kill me?" Aiko asked cautiously, his change is character making her suspicious.
Yet another flash of movement.
"'No'" Shigaraki read. "And why's that? I don't trust you."
A new sticky note appeared, but Shigaraki slammed his hand down to stop him from writing another one.
"I'm getting tired of this. Just. Talk." He hissed.
"I...don't...talk much...Makes me...tired..." Burondo barely managed to huff. "Won't kill...the girl...Other half...wants...to..."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Shigaraki's patience was reaching it's limit.
Aiko crawled over slowly. "Do you mean two halves? Like two different personalities?"
Burondo nodded, continuing to lock his gaze on the ceiling.
"So he's like me!" Twice laughed, then frowned. "There ain't room in this town for the two of us, pal."
"What? So one is a silent idiot and the other half is a child-murdering crazy person?" Himiko crossed her arms. "Now that I have my switchblade with me, it seems right that I should be allowed to cut him."
Shigaraki grumbled curses under his breath and released Burondo from his grip. "I don't care. Do what you want with him. But as I told someone once before, don't freaking mess with us. I've got enough to deal with as it is."
Burondo got up off the ground and straightened himself, remaining completely stoic.
"Wait! Just a minute!" Himiko made everyone in the room pause. "We still haven't seen Tomura as a child yet!"
"Yeah," Dabi smirked, then he turned to Burondo. "We'll trust you if you use your quirk on him."
"What? No way!" Shigaraki tried to protest, but they were already grabbing his arms and legs to hold him still. "You idiots! Let me go!"
Burondo nonchalantly released his shadow for a moment, shrinking the villainous leader down a few inches.
"You-" Shigaraki hid his face. "I hate all of you!"
They all yelped in fright when the seven-year old turned around. His face was dry and cracked and his eyes were incredibly dark and wrinkled.
"Aah! Change him back! Change him back!" Himiko yelled.
Burondo released Shigaraki and the leader was once again full-grown.
"You," Shigaraki pointed at Burondo. "Come with me."
Burondo didn't flinch, as all the other villains were sure they knew what Shigaraki wanted. The blond-villain followed him out the door. A few minutes later, there still hadn't been any screaming.
Shigaraki slammed the door open and waltzed inside, followed by a completely intact Burondo.
"Someone get Giran on the phone," He grumbled. "He said he was looking for recruits, so I've got one right here."
"He's gonna work for Giran?" Spinner, finally gaining consciousness, rubbed his head painfully.
"Yeah, it's the only way we can keep an eye on him. He did outwardly attack the Paranormal Liberation Front after all."
"Well, I'd say this was all a little anti-climactic." Compress added.
"So you definitely don't have a vendetta against me anymore?" Aiko looked up at Burondo, fright still etched in her eyes.
The violet-eyed villain shook his head, but Aiko backed away anyways.
"We won't be seeing him much anymore. So we won't be bothered by him." Shigaraki sat down on his couch. "Whatever.
He pulled out his cell phone and got on line with Giran.
Aiko took shelter behind Himiko's legs, glaring at Burondo from a distance. "I still don't trust him."
"Eh, don't worry about it. Giran knows how to keep wayward villains under wraps." Himiko shrugged.
This didn't make her feel any better, but Aiko sighed in defeat. If Himiko trusted Giran, then so would she.
Thanks again to Wintas for sending me your OC! I really loved getting to write him. And to the rest of you guys, I'm pretty lenient about whatever OC you send me, so I'd be happy to write a chapter for you!
We won't be seeing Burondo anymore after this, since I'm keeping OC chapters to a one-shot maximum. But anyways, here's the character sheet!
Name: Burondo Fukigen-so
Age: 25
Quirk: Rejuvenating Shadow
He can extend his shadow across walls and floors and when an enemy comes in contact with it, the enemy's body with be reversed, kinda like Eri's. The longer the shadow touches them, the farther they will be reversed in time. Extending his shadow for an elongated period of time can drain stamina, so he can only reverse people back a good handful of years. He can also reverse his quirk's effects at anytime.
When he was a teenager, his parents were killed in a villain attack and when the news praised the hero that had shown up for saving dozens of people, Burondo exacted his revenge. He reached his maximum power, reversing the hero to a baby, then...um...beat the child to death. That is why he prefers to to beat children. They are easier targets.
I hope I explained that right. But anyways, have a nice day!
(Also, for anyone wondering, we'll get back to Aiko's Quirk Disorder in the next chapter)
