F3: Hello everyone and welcome back to chapter 16. Wonder what kind of plan Ozpin has planned with team AMLT(Amulet). With that RWBY is the property of Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum. Also I own Team SPIR and Melanie Tora and Ophelia Sorrel while MountainKing312 owns Senka Linwood and Decode9 owns Diana Mirai and Akane Shidou. With that said Let's Get Started.
Volume 3-16: Amulet (Part 1)
Night came quickly as everyone in the city was currently going home at this time. All except for Team AMLT who was still awake as they were discussing other matters for the tournament that is happening tomorrow as all of them were currently in their night gear.
"Well tomorrow is the tournament is the big day so we need to get some sleep for tomorrow. We'll be going up against some strong opponents so we better be ready." Akane replied.
"We've done what we could in the lines of training. Now we just have to put our training to the test. Let's give it out best." Diana replied as she was about to go bed.
Melanie however was looking out the window with a thoughtful look which got Senka's attention.
"Hey Mel you alright over their girl?" She asked which made the tiger faunus look back at her.
"Yeah I'm fine. Just had something on my mind lately." Melanie said.
"If there's something on your mind then you care to share with everyone." Diana said softly.
Melanie stepped away from the window before sitting down on the edge of the bed.
"I don't know but I feel like theirs something more to this tournament. More importantly I've been looking toward the skies." Melanie replied.
"The skies. You sure you're okay Mel?" Akane questioned showing some concern.
Melanie only nodded "Yeah I'm fine. I was talking about the about of airships that are coming in. More importantly these airships. They look like they're coming from outside of Vale. Maybe even coming straight from Atlas." Melanie replied.
Diana then spoke up "Yeah I've been noticing that too. They're probably making sure the arena is secure but even I can say that the amount of security forces is a bit overboard." She added.
"Okay so they're bringing in a lot of security. What's the point?" Senka questioned not fully getting what's going on.
"I'm saying is that why would Atlas bring in this much of security before the tournament? It's almost like they're preparing for something just in case." Melanie said.
"Maybe it's to handle grimm activity?" Akane suggested rubbing her chin.
However Diana shook her head "The Amity Arena is placed specifically high above that not many ground type grimm could reach. Plus not most aerial grimm would be able to get into the arena itself which is covered by a dome. Though I would have to agree with Melanie even this much is a bit overboard." Diana replied.
"Think about it. The SDC is the largest supplier of dust but they hardly make tech. Which is why the SDC formed a contract with Mirai International so they could use the companies machines for something like this." Diana replied.
Senka looked toward their leader as she spoke "What do you think Akane? Should we be worried about this?" She questioned.
Akane thought a moment as processed the information before coming to a decision.
"In all honesty. This is way too much security for not just grimm. And don't think even criminals would cause this to happen. Which also begs the question. Why this much security is needed? And just who are they preparing for or more importantly who are they trying to catch attention of?" Akane questioned which did make her teammates think as well.
"So what do you think we should do?" Melanie spoke.
"For now I think we should act just as normal as we can be but make sure to keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary." Akane replied as the rest of the team agreed as they went to bed for the night.

Meanwhile in another part of Vale the general was currently making sure that everything has been checked and double checked just to make sure everything has been covered. In the back of his mind he knew that he couldn't afford to fail in this task especially since Jacque had trusted him with capturing the theif that he now knows the identity being Rina Trill.
He also was waiting for whoever Euryale was talking about that would help them trap her. So right now it was all about being patient until this person arrives. However it seems he didn't have to wait long for that to happen as the door opened behind him as one his Ace Ops entered the room.
An older women about thirty five years old with dark skin with platinum blonde and brown hair shaved on the sides with the blond portions of her hair styled to look like rabbit ears and dark pink eyes. Her outfit consists of a very short sleeved Atlesian Specialist uniform that is a sleeveless white double breasted vest with silver buttons and dark blue accents. It has a white and dark blue collar, a dark blue short-sleeved t-shirt, a red tie and white shorts. She wears dark blue chaps that presumably connect to the tops of her shorts.
The chaps expose the inner part of her thighs and the backs of her calves. She wears blue fingerless gloves and dark gray trainers with black accents with a white stripe accompanied with red socks. She also has white calf pad and dark blue knee pads as well. There are also dark blue straps fastened around the top of her vest.
On her back is a pack like weapon that look like robotic arms that are folded up when not in use. Her left dark pink eye was scared over as she is unable to open it.
He turned around and noticed her standing their as she gave a salute to him "Ace Operative Harriet Bree reporting sir." Harriet replied.
"At ease lieutinent. What do you have to report?" He questioned her.
"Sir. A one Carmen Blood has arrived from Atlas and is wanting to speak with you." Harriet replied.
"Very well. Send her in." He ordered as Harriet turned around to leave but Ironwood stopped her a moment.
"Harriet. Before you do I wish to speak with you a moment." He replied.
"No disrepect sir but I need to return to my bunk before tomorrows tournament." Harriet said as she continued to head toward the door.
"Harriet." He said in a more commanding tone which made her freeze in place. She let out a sigh before facing him again.
"Yes sir. What is it?" She questioned.
"I've read over your file. You joined the military when you were only nineteen and started out as just a mere private. Then in a years time you quickly rose to become a commander by age twenty. Normally a private would take a long time to become a commander but you did it." Ironwood commented.
"I appreciate the comment sir but if I may be so bold. Where are you going with this?" She questioned.
"However before you became a commander you were sent to guard the mines and were ordered to execute one of the prisoners. Was their a reason for that?" He questioned.
Harriet paused a moment before she answered "My commanding officer at the time gave me the order. Said it was to set an example for the faunus workers." She added.
Ironwood looked at her as if looking for a sign of weakness but she stood tall and firm.
"In your medical records it said that you suffered an injury about five years after you were promoted to commander." Ironwood replied.
"A riot broke out in the mines sir. One of them took a swing at me with a metal pipe with a sharp edge. As you can see what the result was." She said gesturing toward her left eye.
"Yes and yet you still remained in the military and are now a lieutinent. You could've easily retired with an injury like that." Ironwood said.
"Let's just say I still have a lot to prove sir." Harriet added.
"Very well. You're dismissed." He ordered as Harriet took her leave.
Not too much longer the blood red haired women appeared before him.
"Good for you to make it Carmen. We have much to discuss." Ironwood said the they began there discussions for tomorrows tournament.
However many miles away from Vale on the island of Patch Tai Yang was still currently asleep but someone was not as he felt around the bed not feeling the pressance of his wife anywhere as he slowly got up from his bed. Luckily he didn't have to look far as outside on the bedroom deck stood Raven in light blue night gear.
"Raven... it's like two o'clock in the morning. Come back to bed." Tai said groaning from getting up.
Raven however looked outward in the direction of Vale as her eyes narrowed. He picked this up and knew what it meant but he had to be sure.
"Is something wrong?" Tai questioned.
"I sense great danger coming. Something very dangerous." Raven said sternly.
"Should we be worried?" He asked.
"I think we should be prepared. I'll head into Vale in the morning and make my way toward Beacon." Raven said.
"And what do I do?" He questioned.
"Guard the fort. If it's as bad as I think it is then we need to start stocking up on supplies." Raven said as she came back inside.
"Alright but let's get some sleep okay." Tai requested as Raven returned to her side of the bed as the two slowly went back to sleep.
=RWBY=
Morning had finally came and today was the day of the tournament as the team were preparing to head up toward Amity Arena for the start of the tournament. Airships that contained citizens were already beginning to ascend toward the arena while separate airships were for the competetors.
The airship landed as Team AMLT came walking off it along with the rest of the competetors.
"Well girls this is it. We're finally here. Amity Arena." Akane said as the group looked around the area with complete awe.
"Wow. Now this is impressive." Senka said amazed at the amount of work that had to be done.
"So we head toward our waiting room then." Melanie added.
"Yeah. From what I understand their is a suppose to be an opening ceremony before the first rounds begin." Diana replied.
"Okay then lets get going." Akane said but as they were about to leave Senka felt something touch her.
"Zap." A chipper voice said as Senka felt a small shock to her back which made her jump a little.
She turned around angry "Alright who did that!? I'm going..." Senka started but her anger immediately died as she noticed someone familiar.
The girl Senka is staring at is 5'8 with pale red hair going down to the middle of her back with lightly tanned skin with a slender figure. She wears red and white shorts that complement her curves with a brown belt and green buckle with an emblem of a cats eye. She wears a pale red and white top that shows off her midriff along with a white shirt underneath that's the same length as her top. She has bright green eyes that are slitted like a cats she wears long silver colored gloves that reach her elbow with a gold band on her wrists. She is a cat faunus as she has a pale red cats tail sticking out.
However she is currently confined to an electrical wheelchair but she still had that bright smile.
"Hey girls." The cat faunus said happily.
"Ophelia! What are you doing here?! I thought you were recovering still." Senka replied quite surprised that the cat faunus was in front of them.
"What you really thought I was going to miss this? No way." Ophelia said.
"Though it is good to see you moving about. Even if its with that." Melanie added gesturing to the wheelchair.
"Yeah but it can also be a bit of a pain as well. Though my team has been very helpful getting me through my recovery. Its still going to take some time before my legs could move." The cat faunus replied.
"I'll be watching you girls. So good luck." She said.
"Thanks. You just focus on getting better." Akane replied as the cat faunus wheeled herself toward the stands of the arena.
"We better get going. Don't want all the competitors wait for us." Diana added as the team decided to head toward the waiting room. However on the corner of Melanie eye she thought she noticed someone go around the corner.
"Hm." Melanie hummed as she looked in the direction.
"Hey Mel hurry up!" Senka called out.
"Coming!" Melanie called back as she ran to catch up with her teammates.
On the side of the arena Roman had just managed to get on luckily without getting spotted by that other girl that saw him.
"Welp time to get to work." He said as he headed for the supply ship.

The arena was filled to its capasity as the audience was waiting ever so patianctly for the tournament to begin. Cameras that are on wires the hanging above the arena flew about as to give those who are watching on televisions so that way they don't miss any of the action.
In the high corner of the arena in the commendators box two particular teachers from Beacon sat down and prepared themselves to introduced the tournament.
"Ladies and gentlemen of Remnant welcome to the 40th annual Vytal Tournament. I am Professor Peter Port along side my comrade Professor Oobleck!" Port announced.
"That's Doctor Oobleck. Now before we announce the teams we will go over how this tournament works. There will be a total of four rounds in this tournament but each round will have a special rule." Oobleck began.
"The first round will be a team versus team round as all four members of each team be participating. The second round will consist of a two versus two which will be decided by the leaders of each team. Then their will be a one versus one where only one person of each team will participate." Oobleck explained.
"Ah but the final round will be an extra special round but we'll not reveal that till it actually happens. Let us begin with the first rounds." Port shouted as the crowd was now getting hyped up as a large holo display appeared.
"Also each round will have a special battlefield where each team will be on. Let's see how well they'll adjust." Port commentated as two blank pictures appeared before it started spinning as if to randomize the first two teams to battle.
The first team showed the letter NDGO while the second showed SPIR.
"And it looks like it'll be Shade Academy's Team NDGO(Indigo) versus Beacon's own Team SPIR (Sapphire)!" Port shouted out as the two teams appeared onto the battlefield.
Star and her team came onto the battlefield with their weapons at the ready while on the opposite side their opponents were ready as well.
Team NDGO is full female team from what Star could tell but mostly she looked directly at the leader with a slight growl in her throat.
The female she was looking at has slightly tanned skin along with indigo colored hair that is brushed over her olive colored eyes. She wears a high-necked, tight-fitting gray shirt with dark gray accents, along with a long, lilac coat with one long sleeve with the other rolled up. She also wears a leather bandolier with a steel gray pauldron on the right shoulder, which also appears to hold her weapon.
She wears a slanted dark gray belt on the second notch alongside a breastplate that matches her pauldron. She wears gray pants with dark gray boots with light gray laces alongside dark gray forearm length gloves with the left glove being fingerless and having a cuff. She also has a dark gray band around her right elbow with a smaller band on her upper left arm.
Her weapon appears to be a convertiable crossbow sword.
"You alright Star?" Rina asked.
"I know that girl. She's from Vacuo. Nebula Violette. She was originally part of another team but that didn't turn out too well." Star said.
"She's also be a big critic and likes to toy with others who aren't Vacuan." She added.
"Okay and what about the other three?" Pepper questioned.
The second female has lightly tanned skin, dark blonde hair swept to the left, and violet eyes.
She wears a sleeveless green dress with an asymmetrical hem, what appears to be golden scale one-sleeved high neck top underneath her dress, a lighter green sarong tied around her hips, and a golden spaulder. Two thin chain loops run from the front of her pauldron and around her torso to the back.
She also wears a pair of over-the-knee scale stockings, armoured calf-high boots that match her pauldron though the rear of her calves is exposed and a simple chain bracelet with a ring connected to it on her right hand as well as a brown band around her left wrist with two beaded bracelets.
On her back seems to be a compatable spear with a green crystal impedded at the tip as she waits patianctly.
The third female also has lightly tanned skin, curly black hair pulled back from her face into ringlets, and brown eyes.
She wears a black corset dress with a dark gray front, purple hem and purple laces on the back. She wears a light gray top with short sleeves and black cuffs. Her top also has a high gray collar that appears to be armored. Her belt is a long purple ribbon edged in gray, with a bow in the back and tied in the front, and connected to the belt are a pair of armor tassets that also act as storage for her weapon. Her shoes are flats and ribbons.
She also wears light gray stockings and pale gray ballet flats, with ribbons around her lower legs.
Finally the last women on the team has lightly tanned skin, brick red hair left loose with swept fringe to the right and olive green eyes.
She wears a teal blue waistcoat with two long tails and dark brown strapless top. A cropped sleeveless vest of the same color is worn over the top and waistcoat. Her skirt is pale green graduates to a cream with a zigzagged pointed hem accompanied with an open front layer that graduates from brown to light brown.
She wears a pair of navy belts crossed in the front and back and a pair of sky blue layered spaulders, held in place by a dark brown leather strap across her chest. Her shoes are a pair of simple, navy blue ankle boots with folded over top and brick red lining. She also has a navy blue chocker.
In her hand seems to be a short curved dagger with red designs on the blade with a stoic look on her face.
"The others are Dew Daryl, Gwen Darcy, and Octavia Ember. That is Team NDGO. Do not underestimate them." Star warned.
Meanwhile on the other side Nebula look their so called opponents which so far she wasn't impressed.
"This is who we have to fight. I mean c'mon we'be fought better than these wimps." Nebula said which seemd to get a nod out of Dew and Gwen however Octavia spoke up next.
"I wouldn't be so sure." Octavia replied which got Nebula's attention.
"Oh how so?" She questioned as her brick red haired teammate pointed toward Iona.
"She's from Sanctum Academy. More importantly Sanctum's current champion." She replied which surprised the group.
"I heard something about that. Maybe she'll be a challenge than the rest." Gwen added.
However Nebula looked toward the leader of the SPIR which made her grin a bit.
"Star Azure. Oh this'll be good." She said.
"Now time for the battlefield. Wonder what they'll have to contend with." Port said as the pentagon holograms appeared before spinning. Finally they landed on a location that resembles a mountain area.
"Looks like it'll be a mountain battle!" Oobleck announced as the floor opened up on each side as large compact dirt appeared resembling the mountains.
"Now then if both teams are ready?" Port announced.
"What do you think Star?" Pepper questioned as Star thought of a battle plan.
"Alright. Knight and first bishop to the front second bishop to the back of knight." Star ordered as Iona took her position behind Pepper while Rina stood right next to her on the left while Star took her position on the right.
Nebula saw this and wondered what they were doing "A triangular formation." She replied.
"The rules are simply. Take out your opponents aura to win. Begin!" Port shouted as a loud siren rang signaling the start of the fight.
"Green bishop to red knight! Black knight to yellow knight!" Star ordered as Rina charged in at Octavia as she fired her pistol at the dagger weilding girl. Pepper did the same thing but went after Dew.
"Charging in just like that! How stupid are you two?!" Dew shouted as she pulled out her spear and was ready for the faunus that was coming at her. She twirled her spear in front of her before unleashing a blast of wind from it directly at Pepper.
Pepper seeing it coming at her having no choice but to jump to dodge the incoming attack which left her wide open for Gwen to strike. Gwen jumped into the air to meet her as she held out her hands on her sides. Suddenly three knives came out of her armored skirt and threw them at her.
Having to move in mid air she did managed to dodge some of them but two of them did manage to hit her left shoulder and right leg taking a little of her aura. Pepper activated her guantlets gun mode and fired rapid shots at her opponent. However her shots didn't make it as another gust of wind intercepted them almost providing a shield around her.
The two landed back down on the ground as Gwen and Dew were far more ready than she thought.
"Care to try something else or is that all you got?" Dew questioned snarkly but Pepper only snorted back as she got into a fighters stances.
"I've hardly started to fight." Pepper said as she readied herself.
Rina sword collided with Octavia's dagger as the Shade student blocked the attacked effortlessly. Even with just a dagger Octavia seemed unimpressed.
"You aren't worthy of my attention. The champion of Sanctum is the one I want to fight." Octavia said as she began to push Rina back.
"Yeah well sorry to disappoint you honey but you got me. If you want Iona you'll have to go through me first." Rina said as she pushed back before delivering a swift knee to Octavia's gut knocking the wind out of her. Before Rina could do anything else a arrow bolt zoomed past her scratching her cheek a little.
Nebula smirked a little "I don't think we're going to ask nicely." She said which made Rina a little bit worried.
Star and Iona nodded at each other as they were now ready to join the battle.
"Swing me in." Iona said.
Star nodded as she switch to her weapons call hook as she hooked it onto Iona's left leg and started swinging her about.
With all of her might Star flung her directly at the first targets which would be Nebula and Octavia. Iona activated her guns sword modes then pulled the trigger on each one as two red hues engulfed her blades.
"Duck!" Iona shouted at Rina who immediately dodged her as Iona swung her swords releasing a wave of fire dust at them. Nebula was the first to react as she dodged the attack while her partner wasn't so lucky as she felt the full brunt of the attack knocking about a fourth of her aura while also knocking her into the side of the mountain.
Iona landed safely as she went to check on her teammate.
"You okay?" Iona questioned.
"Yeah I'm good." Rina reassured.
Octavia pulled herself out of the rubble before noticing Iona in front of her.
"So you're the champion of Sanctum. Let me test my metal against yours." She said in a more honorable way.
"Not now Octy. We got this fight to win." Nebula said before transforming her crossbow into its sword mode.
"Time to teach these students of Beacon why Shade is the better school." Nebula said with a cocky smile as the four prepared to square off. They charged at each other with Rina colliding with Nebula as they fought.
Nebula wanting to show just how strong she was she began to overwhelm Rina. Rina tried to push back but Nebula instead backed away on purpose which caused Rina to trip forward whick left her mid section open for a swift knee strike which knocked the wind out of her causing her to stumble. Nebula took the opportunity to then slash at her multiple times before which was chipping away at Rinas aura. Nebula finally delivered a round house kick to the side of her head sending Rina into the side of the mountain.
To add insult to injury she swapped back to her crossbow firing several bolts filed with ice dust preventing Rina from moving anywhere.
"Don't go anywhere now. I'll deal with you later." Nebula taunted which didn't sit too well with Rina as she tried wiggle out of her restraints.
However that came to no avail but so had to come up with a backup plan. She noticed that her other teammates were fighting the other members of NDGO as she activated her semblance.
"Guys I need a little bit of help here. I can't move and Iona is fighting them two on one." Rina projected her thoughts to her other teammates.
"Hold on we're coming." Star's thoughts returned to her as Rina watched Iona battle with Nebula and Octavia.
Iona dodged another slash from Octavia but Nebula quickly slashed at Iona across the chest chipping away at her aura but not much. Iona used her semblance to launch herself into the air before switching back to her guns and fired at the two below. Octavia quickly used her semblance on both her and Nebulas legs as they suddenly moved quickly to avoid the shots.
Stunned from them moving so fast Iona didn't see them jumping at her. Before she could react Nebula and Octavia were already arms length away from her as they grabbed hold of her arms. They then proceed to throw Iona toward the ground making her land hard. Nebula then took aim with her crossbow and fired red bolts at her which came out as fire darts.
Iona seeing this decided to roll out of harms way before the bolts could hit her as she finally was able to get to a vertical position as she extended her swords again.
Nebula and Octavia landed safely but they had disappointed looks on them.
"C'mon and here I thought you'd be a challenge for us. Talk about a let down." Nebula replied.
"A disappointment indeed." Octavia added.
Iona glanced to the side of her where she placed her scroll at to monitor her aura. She was already down to sixty percent before glancing toward Rina who was still struggling to break free.
She crossed her swords together as she prepared herself for another go. However before the two could move their two partners Gwen and Dew were suddenly flung at Nebula and Octavia having been thrown back hard as Star and Pepper landed at Iona's side.
"You okay Iona?" Star asked.
"Yeah a little beaten up but I'm okay." Iona replied.
Pepper went to attend to Rina as she broke the restraints freeing the pale girl.
"You good?" The wolf faunus asked.
Rina nodded "Yeah I'm good." She said before rejoining the group.
"Alright got another plan Star?" Pepper questioned.
Star smiled confidently as she got just the plan.
"Bishops Zwischenzug! Knight Rush!" Star ordered as Rina and Iona charged at who they thought would be a major threat which would be Octavia. Pepper decided to go after both Nebula and Gwen as she extended her guantlets swords as Nebula changed her crossbow into her sword as Gwen summoned more of her knifes.
Which only left Star and Dew since they were both weilded weapons that kept their opponents at a distance. Star leaped forward as she readied Kitsune while Dew readied her spear.
The two charged at each other as their weapons collided sparks flying from the contact. Dew went to thrust again only Star to block it as she countered but Dew saw it as she parried and tried to counter it as the two traded blow for blow.
Pepper dodged a slash from Nebula as Pepper flipped over her as she aimed directly for Gwen. Seeing the wolf faunus changing targets she used her knifes as claws and tried to swipe at her which only Pepper blocked the predictable attack. Not taking kindly of getting ignored Nebula charged in at her leaping into the air going for an aerial slash.
Rina saw this while she and Iona were dealing with Octavia. WIth a flick of her wrist her whip wrapped around Nebula's waist and with a hard tug brought Nebula down to the ground with a hard thud.
Pepper looked over to Rina before giving her a thankful nod as Rina returned it with her own.
Gwen not liking her leader taken out she jumped back and threw her knifes at Pepper in almost in quick succession. Three of the knifes cut right across her lower stomach and left cheek chipping away at her aura.
Star and Dew clashed again none of them giving ground but Star knew that her and her teammates were starting to run out of aura which means it was time for their trump card.
"Desperado!" Star shouted as the rest of the group smirked.
"Alright you heard her let's finish this!" Pepper called out as she snapped her fingers decreasing her gravity as she suddenly sped pasat Gwen to get behind her.
Nebula was finally getting up as quickly aimed her weapon but it was already too late as Rina once again wrapped her weapon around her but time around her legs tripping her up.
"Getting a little tired of that!" Nebula shouted angrly.
"Well too bad sweetheart!" Rina said as she tugged on her swinging her around before launching to the center of the battlefield. Pepper managed to get ahold of Gwen as she threw her in the same direction. Iona using her semblance she launched Octavia in the air before jumping in the air herself grabbing hold of the ribbon on her waist and throwing her toward the other two.
Finally Star jumped back quickly switching to her hookshot and fired it at Dew hooking her by the waist dragging her toward Star delivering a swift kick toward the center of the battlefield.
This cause all four members of NDGO to collide together causing them all to lose aura.
"Now Pepper! Everyone! All-Out Attack!" Star shouted as Pepper snapped her fingers again as her teammates gravity decreased. With everything they got they attacked in all direction using their weapons to the fullest as fast like a blur as NDGO aura dropped fast.
Pepper fired one final shot which was her explosive dust at the group and when it collided with Nebula it exploded as Team SPIR struck a pose with Pepper on the bottom with Iona and Rina on both of her shoulders before locking their left and right arm together causing Star to land on their arms.
The smoked cleared revealing a rather smoked team NDGO as all their auras broke as they faint from the fight.
"And Team SPIR are the victors! An impressive battle from them as they move on to the next round!" Oobleck announced.
"I thought for sure that Team NDGO had this round in the bag but it seems they simply underestimated their opponents in this round." Port explained.
"Yes. Indeed there teamwork was top notch, and the versatality of there weapons certainly played a factor. The use of they're own keywords language and strategies likely helped to confuse NDGO. I just wonder if they will be able to keep this momentum in the coming rounds." Oobleck commented for those who are watching from their homes.
Star and her team walked off the battlefield as the battlefield reset for the next match in the first round.
