New Life - Episode 17
The Divorce
The third day has arrived and Adem, Yasemin and Nevin arrive at the courthouse to obtain the Divorce decree which officially breaks the marriage between Adem and Nevin.
Yasemin: Nevin, are you all right ….. no second thoughts
Nevin: Ending anything is sad… but in this case ….. it's actually not… It's a new beginning…. You two can live the life your meant to live and I actually believe I will too….. No second thoughts.
Adem: I can't thank you enough, that you have been so gracious to this
Nevin: Adem, you gave me 8 wonderful years, but I was never what you needed….. there was always something missing…. Maybe , that if I had told you the truth back then, would it have made it worked. The real good that came out of our relationship, is that we salvaged a beautiful little girl from the clutches of Ferda and her sick life. Ece , will now have a life so special and so loved. She is what was good between us. I know you loved me in your way, but the way you love Yasemin, shows me the kind of love I hope to receive for myself. Let's go get ourselves un married
As they enter the courtroom and they sit on opposite sides, the judges reads the separation decree.
Divorce Judge:Mr Adem Sahin , you have petition the court to dissolve your marriage to Nevin Sahin based on the grounds that the marriage is permanently broken and cannot be repaired…. What do you say to that charge?
Adem: Yes
Divorce Judge: Mrs Nevin Sahin….. This Petition states the the marriage to Adem Sahin is permanently broken and cannot be repaired…. What do you say to that charge?
Nevin: yes
Divorce Judge: Now that you both have decreed that this marriage is permanently broken and cannot be repair, With the power invested in me by the City of Istanbul and it's governing body , I decree this marriage is Divorced.
Those in attendance see an interaction not normally seen in Divorce proceeding, in that Adem, Nevin and Yasemin , smile and hug afterwards, and leave together from the court.
Yasemin: Nevin, would you like the day off or would you like to go back to the foundation….. it's your choice.
Nevin: Please take me back to the foundation, those children warm my heart, that's were I would like to be.
Yasemin: We promised Ece that we would spend the day together, since she was afraid last night, when Adem had to to what he had to do.
Nevin: Ece will always be our top priority. Have a wonderful afternoon with her.
After, they drop off Nevin at the Foundation, Yasemin tries to change the mood with a little levity
Yasemin: Mr Sahin….. do you realize that last night, was the last night of our adulterous affair….. tonight we will keep to tradition and not have relations, but tomorrow, you will belong to me for the rest of our lives.
Adem: How could a man like me , ever been able to afford a mistress like you, whose beauty can only be compared to the goddess Venus. Allah must have blessed me
Yasemin: I will give you a lifetime to pay me back… the only thing I ask is your complete love, nothing less will do.
Adem: Only one lifetime… a beauty like yourself certainly requires more than one lifetime….. you are selling yourself short… I will throw in a second life time, the pleasure you give to me certainly require such payment.

Adem: let's see what our beautiful daughter has in store for us, since this is her afternoon
Ece sees her parents and rushes to them
Adem: Have you decided where you want to go today
Ece: I want to go to the Zoo and see all those beautiful animals that I see on television
Adem: the zoo it is
Yasemin: Which animals do you want to see the most
Ece: I want to see them all
Yasemin: I think I better change my cloths and put very comfortable shoes… we will be doing alot of walking.
Ece: Will I be allowed to have some cotton candy
Yasemin: As a snack later as long as you have a good lunch….. is that a deal
Ece: Ok ….that's a deal
With just the three in the car Yasemine can't help but to reflect on the day she drove to Istanbul in that convertible. The wind blowing on her hair and the pure joy of freedom. She shares that with Adem and Ece.
Ece: what's a convertible
Adem: it's a car with no roof … you feel the wind in your face
Yasemin: Sharing a day like that with you two would be so special
Adem: I'll surprise you one day now that I know it….. you never told me that.
They arrive at the Darica Faruk Yalcin Zoo and Ece can't wait to see the animals
Adem: Ece… this place is very large, how about we take the tour bus this way you can see everything, including the Aquarium.
Yasemin: Daddy has a great idea, then we won't be so tired
They board the tour bus and begin. Ece's eye get bigger at each stop, they see the Momma lions caring their baby cubs, then the huge elephants throwing water on their backs and all the funny looking monkeys with their colorful faces and big eyes. Ece couldn't believe how big the Hippo's mouth was. After an hour or so the Bus driver suggested a rest stop whereby lunch and snacks could be bought , along with rest room privileges.
As they continue around they manage to see everything….. Ece couldn't stop talking about all those animals she got to see. Final stop was at the big Fish Aquarium , where they got to walk through the glass tunnel and the fish swam all around them. Ece, was fascinated by the big sharks. But her favorite was seeing the penguin exhibit. .
After it was all over , she was a very tired girl. Yasemin got in the back seat and let her sleep on her lap all the way home.
At the dinner table a very wide awake Ece told everyone of what she saw today….. she was very happy, especially being with her mom and dad all day.
Tomorrow will be mommy and daddy's very special day in that they will finally get married.
The Wedding
A very excited Ece has been waiting for this day. The idea she gets to see her mommy and daddy get married. So she jumps into their bed and begins kissing both of them so that this day can finally get started.
Adem: why are you so excited , is there something special happening today
Ece: Oh Daddy… it's your wedding day….. mommy is going to look so beautiful
Yasemin: Come hear you….. You happy today is hear… mommy is very happy
Adem: Ece, go get yourself dress , so we can get ready to….. ok

As Ece goes to her room to get ready, Adem rolls on top of Yasemin….. looks into her beautiful eyes and gives her a very passionate kiss … this love that they have couldn't be denied.
Adem: you couldn't leave me and I will never leave you… In a few hours you will be Mrs Yasemin Sahin , my wife ….. thank you for coming back, I would have been lost forever, without you
Yasemin: the only thing we need to think about is our future, the troubles of our past are long behind us... Are you aroused already….. but this is not the time even though I want you right now, and Ece will tell everyone what her mommy and daddy were doing before the wedding

As Mrs Karatan, Yasemin had to maintain , A high fashion super model style that Timur was oppressed with, since she was his prize possession, but as Mrs Sahin, Yasemin has chosen to be simpler, be still very attractive. Gone are the glitz of all the gold bobbles of adornment, Gone are the over size earrings , gone the very sleek and seductive cloths meant to seduce. Her wedding dress is a very fitting cream laced dress accentuating her very fit body but not overexposing it. She is tastefully elegant without revealing any of her natural assets. Her eyes do not need the heavy makeup, for they sparkle by themselves. Her face has always been adorned by those two beauty marks that place attention to her lips.
Mrs Yasemin Sahin has developed her own unique style and still without question a very beautiful woman by anyone's standard.
Yasemin is now ready for her husband to be to take her to the mansion, where, the Marriage register is waiting to perform the ceremony. Fatma and Fahit will act as their witnesses.
Gokce, Fatma, Nevin and Nesibe marvel at how beautiful Yasmin looks in this new look. Simplicity suits her.
The Wedding Register asks them to be seated as he begins with the wedding vows.
Wedding Register: Is there anyone present that may object to this union between Adem Sahin and Yasemin Karatan

Wedding Resgister: Let us begin….. Do you Yasemin Karatan take Adem Sahin to be your lawful husband from this day forward?
Yasemin: Yes, I do….. signs her name to the Wedding Certificate Everyone applauses as is the custom
Wedding Register: Do you Adem Sahin, take Yasemin Karatan to be your lawful wife from this day forward?
Adem: forever yes…. Signs his name to the Wedding Certificate
Wedding Register: Do you the witnesses Fatma and Fahit certify to this marriage Certificate
Fatma and Fatih: Yes and sign the wedding certificate.
Wedding Register: by the powers invested in me by the governing body of the city of Istanbul you are now husband and wife and hands the wedding certificate to Yasemin.
Everyone claps and Ece rushes to her parents to Hug them. Adem picks her up and gives her a big kiss as Yasemin does the Same.
Gokce now has her perfect picture for the lobby of the New life Foundation building.
Nesibe has prepared a very special meal for the occasion and everyone partakes. Yasemin and Adem take their first walk as husband and wife around the grounds hand in hand and enjoying the serenity of the moment.
Adem: This place is beautiful and the gardens are so relaxing…. Have you decided if we remain here or do we find a different place we call our own.
Yasemin: Ece loves it here, because of the grounds
Adem: There is a but… are you constantly reminded of the beatings….. that's why we have remained in the guest house
Yasemin: The irony of life is that because of my life with Timur… you became part of it. In some ways I had to experience those beatings in order to have you come to me. This day would not have happened and my life would have been meaningless
Adem: My darling wife you have an unusual way of looking at circumstances…. But so thankful….. your eyes were directed towards me.
Yasemin: Tonight my love not only my eyes but the rest of me will be directed towards you.
As the evening approaches, Gokce tells Yasemin that Ece will stay with her tonight and then Nesibe informs Adem that his request has all been completed and ready for them.
Yasemin: What did you have Nesibe do?
Adem: Take my hand and I will show you?
Yasemin: Adem, why are we going upstairs and not to the guest house
Adem: The lady of the house is not a guest… you my darling wife are not a guest… As Adem opens the door to the master suit… Yasemin is in awe of how it has been transformed and no reminence of how it once was. You deserve the grace and splendor of who you are. You always think of others.
Yasemin: How did Timur allow this
Adem: Let's just say he owes me… Tonight my beautiful wife, our night of wedded bliss be in the surroundings complimentary to your great beauty.

Yasemin: This has become the best honeymoon ever
The three of them get into the convertible with the top down and begin the road trip into the country. Once outside the city limits Yasemin has flash backs to her day driving into Istanbul for a New Life… which is now Her Old Life. How different things have become.
Ece is laughing and giggling as she has her hair blowing all around her uncontrollably. Yasemin puts her hand onto Adem and squeezes it for appreciation.
The third major event is vastly approaching the Adoption
The Adoption
With Adem and Yasemin officially married the final act to make sure Ece's future is never in jeopardy is the Adoption of Ece. The Foundation lawyers have submitted all the paperwork and today is the day that it is all finalized. Adem, Yasemin and Ece appear before the Adoption Judge.
Adoption Judge: Adem and Yasemin Sahin you have submitted papers to adopt Ece Sahin as your daughter from this day forward
Adem Sahin how say you
Adem: yes your honor….. that is our will
Adoption Judge: Yasemin Sahin how say you
Yasemin: yes your honor … that is our will.
Adoption Judge: before I can grant or disallow this petition, I need to hear from the child, since it's her life that is in question. Please bring the child in front of me
Ece looks at Adem and Yasemin for approval… It's ok sweetheart you answer the Judges Questions the best you know how
Adoption Judge: Ece….. do you understand what is transpiring today
Ece: Mommy and Daddy are going to become my real Mommy and Daddy
Adoption Judge: Ece….. do you know the mommy and daddy that gave you birth
Ece: The only mommy and daddy I've ever known is my daddy here and my Mommy Nevin who made a mistake and bought me from a bad lady that I came out of her belly. That bad lady tried to get money again , when I was kidnapped by the bad man that wanted to hurt daddy. Mommy Yasemin came and rescued me and She is my mommy now
Yasemin's eyes are filled with tears that Ece understands what's happened to her
Adoption Judge: Ece appears to have a general understanding of events… Mr Sahin since you have been the only father she has known, please explain the circumstances that the child doesn't fully grasp.
Adem: up until recently, I've always believed that I was Ece biological father… I was unaware that my ex wife made arrangements with a woman named Ferda to replace a still born that she had with Ece. Come to find out I wasn't the father of the still born either. Ece is my daughter biological or not. My wife Yasemin has loved Ece from the first moment she laid eyes on her and has done everything in her power to protect Ece including handing herself to Kidnappers who were threatening her because of her social standing and wealth. Ferda worked with the kidnappers and did nothing to help Ece. Ece had seen Ferda at the site she was being held captive. Yasemin protected Ece at the Kidnappers site until which time I was able to find them both.
Adoption Judge: Mrs Sahin….. you have only recently entered Ece's life what makes you qualified to be Ece's mother.
Yasemin: I love Ece and Ece loves me as far as my qualification I love her father very much and I found the New Life Foundation that we help children that come from situation worse than this. I understand perfectly what Ece needs to live a life without the scars she could have had if it weren't for Adem and Nevin giving her a stable environment. Because of the marital difficulties that Adem and Nevin had, Nevin suggested that Ece best interests in a stable future would be better served if Adem and I adopted Ece and that has always been my hope. Ece is my daughter and she will always be.
Adoption Judge: Ece , one final question… Do you want Adem and Yasemin Sahin to be your mommy and daddy
Ece: Yes, yes
Adoption Judge: Ece your a very lucky girl to have such loving mommy and daddy….. By the power of the City of Istanbul and its governing body , I decree that Ece Sahin will forever be the daughter of Adem and Yasemin Sahin.
Adem picks up Ece and they both give her a big kiss. This family is whole.
