Olivia wrapped her hands around her knees and tried to stop trembling. She had never been so scared. Not being able to see outside, she couldn't determine what time it was. The sun never set, so how would she really know if it was day or night? She thought about Abby. The young lady cowering in the fetal position in a dark closet. The wooden door underneath the carpet. How could she be so stupid? Why didn't she listen to Angela? They could be in DC right now. Where was Angela? Olivia didn't want to imagine what Angela could be going through right now. Olivia hadn't had any food since the sandwich earlier in the day. She was too scared to ask for food. Hunger was the last thing on her mind. The light flickered in the hospital. The hallway was empty. Olivia didn't know how a hospital could be so desolate. Where were the nurses? The nurses station? She walked in the hall when Fitz left with his broom. There was nothing in the hall. No desk or phone. There was a door at the end of the white hall with a red exit sign. Olivia was too scared to walk out the door. What would be on the other side? Outside? Another part of the hospital?

Olivia decided to walk in the hallway again. This time a little further than before. She was surprised to see an older woman leaning against the wall. Like Fitz, her face and arms were bruised.

"Do you work here?"

"Yes."

"Are you a nurse?"

"Yes."

"How do I get out of here?"

"The door marked exit."

"Is it that simple?"

"It's not supposed to be."

The woman looked at Olivia. Her eye was swollen. "I'm not supposed to let anyone leave. I don't care anymore. I'd rather be dead than married to Jerry."

"Do you know anything about my sister?"

"No. You won't get another chance to leave."

"I don't know where I am. Where do I go?"

The woman looked at her phone to check the time. "There is a shift change right now. This is the only time someone isn't monitoring the cameras."

"Can I use your phone?"

The woman looked so defeated. She handed Olivia the phone. "You can have it. I'm sure he will disconnect the service when he finds out you're running. Make all of your calls now."

It was 2:00 in the morning in DC. Olivia knew her mom wasn't sleeping. She had to be looking for her along with her dad.

"Run. Keep running. If they find you, they will kill you."

Olivia had the phone. She walked, and she was somewhat hopeful when she saw outside on the other side of the door. Her journey was just beginning. It was night, and the sun was shining. Olivia called her mom, and she started running. The phone rang and rang. Maya answered on the last ring. Olivia was out of breath, and it was hard for her to speak. She was a few blocks away from the hospital in a shopping center. She had to hide in a place where they wouldn't look for her. The garbage can. There was piles of trash outside the garbage and a thick curtain was on the pile. Olivia covered herself with the curtain and hid behind the large garbage. It was so cold outside and it was starting to rain. The odor from the garbage was strong.

"Hello?"

"Mom. I'm hiding behind a garbage can."

"Livvie, stay on the phone. I can track your location."

Olivia was crying and trying to explain everything to Maya. It was hard for Maya to stay calm. Several agents were already looking for Olivia in Alaska. They were searching every medical facility in Fairbanks.

"Livvie, I know where you are. I need you to stop crying. Please try to stay where you are and don't bring any attention to yourself."

Maya instructed Olivia to stay on the phone while she called her agents.

"Do you know where Angela is?"

"No."

"In a few minutes, two agents will be there to get you. They will say a code. Do not go with anyone who does not have the code. KWTG."

A sedan parked in front of the garbage and Olivia cried again. This nightmare was over. A man walked behind the garbage can and looked at her. A phone was to his ear and he was speaking to someone.

"They are there Livvie. A man will say the code to you."

"Olivia?"

"Yes."

"KWTG."

Olivia cried. "Yes."

"You're safe now. Leave the phone here."
