Am I the only one who missed the mission aspect of the show. The war and akatsuki took up far too much of the series...
Short but sweet it finishes the last episode. I write per episode each being a few chapters long... I also need this part to be separate from the next episode so... yeah, enjoy!
This is not a bashing story, this is a character having opinions on other people that may change as their relationship does sort of story...
Haku's senses went wild as Gato and two others entered their hideout, his rage was pure and his patience limited. He barely turned to face them as they entered the room where he sat over Zabuza, who labored painfully as his body attempted to heal itself. Each wheeze crushed Haku's heart and added to the rage he felt boiling inside. The urge to kill Gato, even before he opened his foolish mouth, was strong...
"Some Jonin, the unbeatable Ninja just got beat limping back home like some pathetic has-been. Demon of the hidden mist, haha, more like coward of the Hidden Mist."
Haku stood, and the idiot wannabe samurai unsheathed a part of their katanas. "Drawing swords?"
Hang on a minute let's here what you have to save about this fiasco." And Gato approached Zabuza's bed, arrogance wildly oozing from every pore of his tiny body. " And don't play possum I know you can talk." He reached out to touched Zabuza and that is when Haku snapped. With blinding speed, he grabbed the man's thin arm and squeezed.
"Keep your filthy hands off of him!"
"Ahh you going to break it!" The man screamed, signaling his idiot samurai to fully take their blades out.
Haku was done playing, before they could react, both were dead on the floor, beheaded with their own blades.
Gato fell back stumbling against Zabuza's bed, eyes wide. " What are you?"
"Your worst nightmare if you even think about backing out of our deal." Slowly, he walked towards the man before him, hate burning in his heart. The trauma of having almost lost Zabuza having burned away his hesitance to kill. His rage needed to be satiated and killing the idiots had helped some, but just looking at Gato burned brighter every aspect of hate within his body. "Am I clear?"
"Yes... I'm sorry, please don't kill me." Gato was shaking like a child, like Haku had when his father tried to kill him.
There was a satisfaction in that sight. "Good, now leave."
Gato all but sprinted out of the room, stumbling twice before actually managing to get out.
"Haku, that wasn't necessary… but you did good." There was fear in Zabuza's voice, and pride, both of which had opposite pulls on Haku's already conflicted heart. "Your First Kills, how do you feel?"
"Oddly, I feel nothing about it. They were vermin." And he meant it, entirely and without reservation. "How are you feeling, your wounds must be aching something fierce?"
"They burn, I think their getting infected."
Sighing deeply, Haku stood. "I'll go fetch some herbs, that should stem any infection. Then I will kill the Shinobi on my own, your in no condition to fight."
"I can fight if I need to."
Haku snapped again. "YOU WON'T FIGHT!" His words filled the space with frigid air that was strong enough to buffet even Zabuza's skin. " Do I make myself clear? Do I?"
Zabuza stared at him, shocked and afraid. Finally, with must hesitation, Zabuza nodded. "Very well..."
"Good, now stay still and will get some herbs after I take care of these bodies."
"Your doing good Naruto, your making real progress." Rai smiled at his brother, watching Naruto reach almost three fourths of the way to the top without any real help. Naruto really was improving, their lessons long past seemed to be helping Naruto thrive. It was joyful to watch, Rai felt a sense of pride that really only family could understand. "Try staying in place, see if you can do that, it might help you get more used to the steady flow part."
"Alright, I'll try it." And so he did, Naruto stopped in place. He wobbled a bit, staggering his steps but slowly he managed to stop entirely though with clearly great focus. " I think I'm getting this."
"Great!" Satisfied, Rai turned to Sasuke, who had only reached the center of the tree. He looked pissed, his eyes filled with deep irritation and malice. Occasionally his eyes would flicker to Naruto and glare hatefully, jealously, before doubling down on his own training. It was king of amusing to be honest...
Still, Rai knew he had to help. "Your not doing great on maintaining the chakra. Try going up slower and stopping at random intervals."
"I don't need your help, Rai!"
"No but I am giving it freely anyway." Rolling his eyes at Sasuke's attitude, Rai marched forward and laid on the ground by the tree, sort of going with the flow. " Naruto, watch this, I have an idea." He felt more then saw his brother doing what he as told. "Put your feet on the tree while lying on your back and walk up it like this." Slowly he put his feet on the tree and demonstrated as he moved his feet up all while laying flat on his back. "This way you can get a feel for how much chakra you need to stick to the tree without exhausting your chakra and falling."
"Hmmm." Sasuke grunted out before running back up the tree.
"Sasuke stop being stubborn, there is no shame in getting help. This is where I excel, as does Sakura. Your better all around so one day I am probably going to ask your help with Taijutsu or whatever. A bunch of other things you are great at."
"He makes a point. " Naruto said, laying on ground as Rai suggested. "I would be a lot farther behind if it wasn't for Rai. He helped me learn a water jutsu, all sorts of trivia and improve my taijutsu, throwing skills and a bunch of other things... hey, why don't we have a spar! We can show that I've grown that way!" Naruto would have probably leaped up to start the fight but Kakashi coughed loudly.
"Maybe later Naruto but I would rather you four not get injured just in case we have to have another fight with an enemy ninja." Kakashi smiled behind his mask. "That being said you two have improved a lot so yes I would like to see a spar with you all soon. In fact when we return we will up your training, how I am not sure but we will. At the least I want to see some spars to get a better idea of your abilities... Sakura, Rai, since the two of you have seemed to excel at this exercise I want you to guard Tazuna when he goes work on the bridge. He leaves in about an hour so go with him and make sure he is protected as he walks through town. I am counting on you."
"Yes sensei."
"Yes Captain." Rai didn't feel like the man deserved the sensei title just yet... but maybe if he taught them a few more things?"
Either way excitement rushed through Rai's body as his first real solo ( he didn't count Sakura as a person let alone fellow ninja) job within his mission was now. He would do all he could to protect his customer and make sure he lived. By any means necessary.
Even if that meant working with the pink haired whore.
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
Any suggestions on Jutsu to learn and styles for the characters as things change?
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
